I have had this game for 2 years and played it a couple of times but always gave up because the controls and cameras are the worst ever in any car game.
Just got into this game - so far I am very impressed. it is challenging and fun, I love crawling and RC Crawling and I could play this for hours, just like all other forms of this! Menus could use some work, but the game play is perfect in my opinion. Recommend using a controller, keyboard is harder.
no upgrade path everything already unlocked and pretty basic physics im going back to beamng and snowrunner
its fun
very fun!
Great physics and vehicle controls, but this is a controller game because of the bad wheel support. It's fun for a little while but somehow it's both very short and very repetitive at the same time. 100% Achievements and 100% every course took me 5.1 hrs and I'm not even sitting up in my chair. I just can't recommend it full price, wait for sale pricing.
This game is fun. A lot of potential
this game is very fun I would recommend it but i wish the maps were a lot more challenging and bigger but that is the only complaint it is a good game! would recommend
best crawling game low specs required to have a great time
Excellent physics game. Wish my IRL Jeep climbed as well as my ingame vehicles
This game has a lot of potential but I can only see playing it on a handheld or with a controller. Trying to use a wheel is horrible. You have to map your wheel and if you press the wrong button the game will freeze. You can't control the rest of the game at all with the wheel so you still need a controller or keyboard, the steering is can't be adjusted in the game, and no forced feedback is almost a deal breaker when using a wheel. I wanted to love this game but it would get boring really quick with a controller. I'll probably never play it again unless they fix it.
Pretty fun trials driving after all the updates it's received over the years. There's a good selection of well designed maps now, mostly desert ones + a winter one as well. Each map is more of an 'open' exploration style now so you can drive between trials instead of having to go back to the menu each time. The manual gear-shifter and overall handling is a lot more enjoyable than early access.
Some minor changes that would really make this game:
- Reduce the gearing significantly more when 'Low' gearbox is enabled. Turning this on should hold me in place on most hill descents, but instead my tires are rolling and I have to use my brakes way too much for technical downhills
- Add an option in the settings to reduce the manual gear-shifter movement sensitivity. Right now it's really hard to navigate the H-box and takes longer than it needs to when lining the horizontal slider with a controller
- RPMs seem like they don't hold when you let off the gas and keep coasting (ie. there's no friction between the tire movement / engine spool up) , so if you're driving between trials and shift from 2nd to 3rd, it makes more sense to hold the throttle the entire time to keep your momentum. Seems like you'd want to let off for a second when you're shifting gears. This doesn't effect the trials as much since you're moving at much slower speeds.
- Some cosmetic visuals that wouldn't conflict with each other can't be installed together for some reason, seems like this would be an easy thing to fix and allow rock slider + fender flares for instance.
Hopefully the dev will support mods one day as they built a really amazing off-roading engine here. The small tweaks listed above, and a lot more content (modding) would make this a regular game for me.
was very boring after the first map. takes all of 30 minutes to complete each map and it can all be done with the starting vehicle. concept of money is also flawed because you earn cash when completing trails but there is a cap limit of 10k. all money earned after that just disappears.
Didn't give me a penny after refunding, unbelievable.
-note: my steam wallet or my card hasn't received anything after refunding, this is crazy, do not recommend.
Great game! love the physics! would be great with support for moza wheels
I'm just starting out here at PRC - but I'm a big fan already. I'm a RC Crawler IRL and this scratches that line-driven itch when my cars are down or on the bench. If you crawl as well with remotes, you know that wrenching can be a LARGE part of the experience. Love everything about the game. Easy to understand, is X-Pad accessible, has a low-entry for map expansion - and just works out of the box. Would love an arcade follow camera feature as I often mess this up but I'm learning. Great job.
Game's driving physics are quite off. You can climb an 80 degree incline without even slipping your tires. The vehicles are like freaking spiders. And low gear operation is completely off. It acts as an RPM limiter, instead of a torque multipler. So, that is that. In any case, I think worth sticking with it, given the price. It is nevertheless fun and relaxing. Maybe the dev will eventually evolve his game from totally arcade to sim-light.
It's almost like doing it in real life. :)
Best rock crawling and offroading game I have ever played. The 4x4 and locker actually work and help. The physics are damn near perfect for offroading. Very much recommend!

great game.. a little relaxation before bed after getting nervous on war thunder..
way too easy and yo damn 'full release' dopnt got the multiplayer bruh!!! whatthehellllllll
I'm an extreme novice when it comes to understanding the physics of off-roading and Pure Rock Crawling gives me an entry-level game to play around with the mechanics of off-roading. The developer (or developers, I'm not sure if there are more than 1 person involved) spent a lot of their time working on this and it shows. So far, it's not as complicated as other off-roading games like Snow Runner, but I don't think it's trying to be. PRC has been simple and fun to drive around in and gives novices a lot of safety net that's only existing in games than in reality, for example gear binding doesn't appear to exist and you can hop (like those bouncing cars on hydraulics) the car to help get your self out stuck situation.
The physics of the game is nice, but again, this game seem to be more entry-level style. It's not a bad thing, but it excels in the entry-level area.
The only thing I feel that is missing to enhance the gaming experience in PRC is the sound design. The only thing I hear in the game is the engine running and that's about it. The game overall is quiet. There's no music, no sounds when you reach gates or checkpoints, no ticks when navigating through the menu, etc. The only sound in this game is the engine running and maybe some small crash sounds if you hit the car on rock. This is the only feedback I'd like to see get implemented in PRC. Otherwise, this game is a solid 4/5 without noise in the game.
its good and i really like how much customization you can do, but i already have mudrunner and snowrunner so whats really the point of having this too?
Solid!
The game is a blast. The full length truck feels like rock hopping in a Toyota Hilux, the authentic experience in all its shitty glory XD
Advanced wheel physics. I know just enough to be dangerous in a 4WD, and this felt pretty real to me.
Love to see devs out of Poland representing, too. Uwielbiam twoją grę wideo!
This game is no Spin Tires or anything but if your into off roading you will def enjoy the game. For a game that is not coming from a bigger studio it's still pretty top notch. There is no mod support or anything like that but the vehicles and customization is just fine. The developer seems to still be putting work into it and each time it makes it just that much better. I would highly recommend this game.
good for the money i wish the dev would add openable doors and and if u hit a rock wrong it could pop your tire also i did realize theirs a bit of a damage model but not much im not sure how many people are on the team but i like the game and i hope u keep adding stuff dev :]
Super solid fun game, hopefully it gets more attention and updates!
Awesome! Just like the real thing, the physics are spot on the only thing that lets it down is the sound!!!!
Feels good, looks good, runs good.
Highly recommended if you like rock crawling.
Only things I'd like to see is a more advanced graphics menu so I can dial it in on steam deck and more sounds (suspension flex, tire rolling and skidding etc.)
This game could sky rocket with Multiplayer and Mods. Only played for like 3 hours total and got fairly bored. probably 1.5hr between me and a friend and both agreed it'd be way more fun with multiplayer
The physics are not bad but holy crap, the drivetrain needs work! Totally removes me from the experience and casts serious doubt on the physics when the engine sound is A; terrible and B; doesn't even match what the car is doing
I want to like this game. It looks great after all, and unlike what Snowrunner has become (A to B and back again, and repeat), it could be great.
But on first play with a DD1 and full Fanatec ecosystem it failed. So close.... but failure.
It was impossible to map the handbrake - which I'll grant isn't unusual in indie games and Fanatec - as I understand it the axis for handbrake and clutch is the same, so things get funky.
I could live with that.
I could also live with zero FFB, it's not really that sort of game. Wheel revolution setting would have been nice.
So by now the list is growing.
What sealed it was in fact the gear selection. I could select drive, or then park, but then seemed to be stuck in park.
And this is my pet hate that killed (and a few other titles) - if you are mapping a wheel, let us use it, don't have half and half with the keyboard.
Even then, once I found that despite being mapped I still had to press space to get out of park - for whatever reason I still couldn't select a gear.
And as the frustration grew, I realised this is not the game for me at this time.
I do in fact look forward to paying more (really) when it's out of early access, but I just won't play it now.
#Refunded.
Great so far, it's like Snowrunner but better. Physics are really nice and feel realistic unlike snowrunner where the fucking thing tips over at the site of a pebble.
1. Could do with some sound effects like suspension creaking bangs, rocks, tyre scrub etc.
2. Would like to be able to 'hold' the truck with low range gears, on downslopes, it tends to run away from you and you have to brake which puts it in reverse, with a real truck, you'd be able to manage the speed downhill in a low gear, rather than braking.
3. It's difficult to tell if I've done the gate or not, maybe the gate points should disappear or change colour on the minimap?
4. Maybe it's me that can't find it but I'd like to be able to open a map.
5. PRC2 should have missions, like snowrunner but better, take kit and trailers from point A-B
Fun game but a little easy. Could use a damage mechanic and have more unlockable content. Great way to pass time but overall could be a bit more difficult.
as someone who does some rock crawling in my lifted XJ the physics in this game are pretty good definitely a chill game would be cool to add more vehicle options
Great game! Super detailed terrain, it's very impressive.
This game felt like it was early access to play
Controls are clunky on keyboard, the audio keeps resetting every 2 seconds and blasting my ears out, sorry but it's a refund. Really wanted to like this though.
Good to kill time and have some peaceful fun, runs on my potato pc that's a plus. 10/10 i need more upgrades and tire pressure modification
Pretty fun little game, as many of the reviews have already said there isn't an awful amount to do at the moment, someone summed it up perfectly as a free-roam rock crawler. I at times felt there wasn't much driving me forward with motivation.
THAT BEING SAID.
It's a very good game, the physics seem to be implemented well.
the models are nice and the customisation's seem to make a difference on the overall handling.
it runs with a keyboard fine from what i found but is better experienced with a controller or even better a steering wheel.
I have refunded this game for now, with the intention of returning to the game when i feel like it is a bit more well rounded.
it works well as a cheap and less stress inducing version of snowrunner or spintires.
does anyone know how to access the multiplayer? previous updates say it has been implemented but i cannot find anything about servers or multiplayer in game
This game is great! If you enjoy offroading then you are going to love this game! Super realistic physics and overall fun game play! A nice game to relax and play!
If you're looking for Snow Runners, this ain't it.
The rock crawling is kind of fun, and I do a little of it in a real jeep. This works, for kind of something to play around with and get a chuckle out of. The physics mechanics are actually kind of nice. In fact, I wish they existed in Snow Runners. The vehicle just feels better here.
All that said though, you're paying for a silly little rock crawling tech demo if you ask me. If that's up your alley, get it. If you're expecting a game out of this? Eh, you should pass.
I wish I could leave a "eh" review. It wasn't a yes or no recommendation. I was just curious what kind of rock crawling stuff was out there that wasn't Snow Runners.
It looks great.
Everything else is beta feeling. Some examples being low and high range on the transfer case and the vehicle brakes. They are there but they don't really work the way you expect. The low range doesn't give you a torque advantage and better low speed control it just makes it so you don't go as fast you've still got to give it all the throttle. I guess the vehicles have brakes. I couldn't tell the difference between rolling to a stop and holding the brake.
They also need to allow some type of mapping or dead zone modification for controllers. I tried several and only about 30% of the trigger throw actually engages.
I tried changing vehilcles and changing tires. Nothing made it better.
it just makes it not enjoyable.
Overall, I'd say 8.5/10 .
I like it, there's clearly a lot of effort being put into the physics of the game and you can definitely tell. I'm gonna support the studio because I believe in this game and what it could be. Some people said that there was multiplayer at some point, that would really add another level to this game entirely, being able to spot friends, mess with them and sometimes giving them a helping tow across a peculiarly difficult boulder.
It's a great game, it's fun mechanics but I feel like there's not much of a challenge or objective apart from the obvious climbing over rocks. Finished the first map in maybe 30ish minutes, maybe the rest of the game takes way longer but I can't imagine it being much different from the first experience. Pretty much every car customization is free, at least most of the ones that actually affect the ability of the car. I would love for it to have some cost or goal or requirement for purchasing every lift kit or bigger tire. Hey atleast the bumpers and fenders aren't free!
That being said, this game is exactly what it says, a rock crawling simulator. You really can't complete some of the trails without locking the diffs or switching it to 4WD. Maybe adding a damage model or parts wearing out that won't work as well as you complete each trail or take a hard hit could be cool? Gives you a sense of self-preservation and not just absolutely send it across every rock and stone (DRG reference).
I like choice of cars (which could also be paid so you have another goal to work towards), controller and wheel support is great (Xbox One controller, Thrustmaster T150 wheel) and feels good.
Way too easy, climbed through 3 whole maps in 2wd and high range. Enough said.
Also if playing on keyboard/mouse, cant even click the last few maps in fast travel because the description of the middle map covers them.
very fun if you have a steering wheel setup but over all 10\10 game
basic, simple rock crawling. customize several trucks or buggies with tires, wheels, suspension, paint and exterior. everything has what sounds like a 4 cylinder diesel so there is no engine mods n such. but a blast to play and the physics behave well.
Found this in discovery queue, and actually good for the price, although, runs on Unreal Engine, so it sadly comes with the issues of it, like weird edges on objects, and bad framerate, otherwise good though
its just like a phone game. it is very boring and the sound is VERY bad...simply put i do not advise this game.
