Completely unacceptable that the game for whatever reason decides oh you need to be in Kansas when you don't own the DLC. Thats beyond unacceptable to have a game breaking glitch I saved my game in Las Vegas how do I end up in Kansas? On top of that when i fast travel to a different state GPS doesnt work. In addition to that I CLICK THE SAVE GAME multiply times doesnt do anything load into the game guess what I'm floating around in darkness in Kansas. Further more mods will randomly crash the game that completely work fine. don't add any mods game doesn't update BUT WAIT you can drive the truck modify but it crashes when you try purchasing the same truck that you already own? I really THINK thats a game issue not a mod issue. Should be called American truck arcade not simulator while it does have some good features there are some major ones that for a trucking simulator was completely half assed like the fuel cost, the rates, having to be at a rest stop in a sleeper truck to rest, not being able to get out of your truck. On top of that if you want any good looking trucks that you can truly personalize have to mod the game.

The map very very big (with full DLC). Beautiful scenes, epic route, hundres of features, suitable for a time killer game.

Game play is very realistic and often very challenging
I overall like the simplicity of it. It is relaxing for me too. I will definitely be the guy that buys all the state DLC's as I really love this game! Dont need the steering wheel setup, although it does make it easier.

a'lot of payed add on's but there worth it. good game all around maybe the driving physics could be tweeked but they do hold up okay.
Another one of those games that I assume I'll have no interest in, pick it up on sale, and get sucked into. I don't care about trucks. I don't care about trucking. I hate driving in real life despite being a school bus driver with a CDL. Yet this game is fun. Can sit and listen to a podcast or have sports/tv on in the background while I'm making deliveries.
Love American truck feels reel would unlike shinning Euro truck roads and town i hope in future will be able to walk the driver and be able to stop on garages buy food and drinks to be more alive

It's a excellent game, graphics, functionality, routes and more.
Bought it primarily for the Driving Academy feature to help me with the lack of "seat time" in my truck driving school. I am surprised how much this game has helped. The mechanics of backing the trailer are spot on and the delays in shifting are similar to my experiences in class with heavily beat up trucks. I believe this game will help anyone assuming the player is taking the game seriously. I'm told that truck driving school isn't as intense as it used to be, which I believe to be true. I was grateful for the variety and difficulty of the trailer backing exercises because it helped me pass my actual CDL driving test. Now I'm a certified "steering wheel holder."
Sadly I cannot recommend the ATS at the moment. Constant stutters and frame tearing take away all the fun.
It has been long years since I read that devs will address the issue of heavily outdated engine, and not much was improved in this matter. I will not support the game anymore until it is finally fixed.

This game is one of the best trucking simulators I've ever played I'd highly recommend it if your looking for a great time.
Decades of truck driving and console gamer here, i finally decided to get a pc built for this game and msfs and i'm not disappointed. There's nothing even close to the immersion of ats on console (atleast atm).
Playing this game with moza truck wheel, th8a shifter modded with range/splitter 18 speed gear handle with a jake brake and a button box, android tablet & bass shakers + simhub = a fantastic truck driving simulation game...highly recommend!

Found the demo to this after playing 18 Wheeler on my PS2, ended up buying the game after about 20 hours, bought some DLC, finally bought a wheel, pedals and shifter with an 18 speed adapter. 300 hours in and still going. Lots of neat mods out there to make it more immersive, seems to be a pretty cool community. Great game if you love to drive and find it relaxing. The challenge of backing up a trailer is my favorite part. I'd highly recommend this game.

Over 2300 hours in this game and would have highly recommended this game in the past. Since the 1.50 update and every time new content is added the stuttering and freezes have made it completely unenjoyable.
Love all the new content, but I will not purchase anymore until they update the game engine to handle the new features

One of my go-to relaxing games. I'm still in the early career, but I like being able to pick jobs based on distance and duration so I can kind of curate my play session. Looking forward to growing my company and making more money in-game for more trucks and unlocks. There seems to be endless items in the stores, and dozens of DLCs that I could drive the whole country. I wonder how long a cross-country trip would take real-time.
If you enjoy driving games, or flight simulator, or even just driving IRL, definitely worth getting this game. A lot of content for the price.
I like that the game realistic and they have such thorough tutorials to help you learn the game and controls.

As a 20+ year veteran OOP Flatbed driver of Long-Haul Trucking, I can honestly say this game is just simply amazing; the level of detail, and correct geography is astounding, and a beautiful product of no doubt many, many, long hours of dedication from it's creators...
Due to a serious injury i sustained during an off-load of steel, I am no longer able to do the job I loved, as the damage done ended my career and business..
Although this may be just a game to some, it is much, much, more to me, and others like me who are no longer able to do the career we have dedicated so much of our lives to; as it allows us to continue down those roads and highways we called home for so many years..
With a wanderers spirit always in search of adventure, I truly miss the thrill of not knowing what may lay around the next bend, or curve in the road; all those long nights chasing the sunrise, with the radio and C.B. as your only company.
Or the long days of mile after mile of beautiful scenery flying by, roaring towards the setting sun; only to wake-up in a different city or town every morning..
My hat is off to all those of you, from the designers to the modding community, and everyone involved who have dedicated so much of your time to make this game what it is today, and what it will be tomorrow, and in the future; thank you so much for allowing me to continue my adventure!
game devs really need to fix the steering issue in this game. My truck constantly steers by itself when I’m using either a controller or keyboard on my MacBook, and I don’t have controller drift nor is there anything wrong with my settings. I’ve done tons of research, and nobody has any answers. This is beyond frustrating—please do something about it.

Easy going game where u truck n chill. My dad was an over the road trucker for a few years and I got to go with him a couple times. This game brings back those memories and how enjoyable it is exploring America over her highways and interstates. They do an excellent job of capturing the highlights of each state and city. And you can add mods.
The game is a very good game for pc players for laptop player without a pc it can lag A LOT.I think it is a very very good game overall. I have a lot of fun playing it.

Been p[laying the game from the start great game. traffic needs work and more trucks and customization but still a great game!
its a good game but wish you could do more like get out the truck and do stuff i cant seem to figure it out lol
18 Wheelin' and dealin' is much more fun than one would expect. More than just driving a semi truck. You get to start an entire trucking business from the ground up so be prepared to lose many hours.

I really do enjoy this game. I was a driver for 22yrs in real life and I can say the game is pretty good at giving a decent idea of what its all about. visually very nice but the up and down hills dont give you the same feel in real life. also the speed is a bit miss leading as you are going much faster in the game then you can in real life but its close. A lot the the places you visit are pretty close but also off. But, if you want an idea of truck, this game does deliver very well. I play it because I LOVE trucks and I drove for 22 years for this same reason. I didnt have to, I chose to. very fun game over all and the different style of trucks/loads are kinda close with some being way off on the pay. flat beds tend to bring in the most but different style of tanks can HUGELY very. hauling frac/water tanks does NOT pay at all unless you are in the oil field. Hopper bottoms can very wildly depending on what you are doing. Human grade profits a lot more then animal feeds. still, very fun to play.
Really just a great truck drivin game. I recommend this game to anybody wanting to haul loads all over the country
Have you ever seen a semi truck do a 360 degree somersault after ramming into another truck? I have and let me tell you iot was phenomenal. It lifted into orbit with the utmost grace, completed a full rotation, and then landed upside down. If I was a judge I would have have given it a 10/10. The ensuing argument between both parties afterwards was straight out of a fever dream. 2 Grown men arguing about how much money they lost because of the simple action of not braking on time. Highly recommend.
The game provides a welcome and easy to learn for new players who wish for a calm and stress free game that is not pay to win or pay to enjoy. It offers a good size content range at start and plenty of dlc packs to enjoy. Weather you are wanting to play with friends or play solo while listening to some tunes it is fun for all types of truckers out there. never the less id strongly agree with a solid 10/10 rating.
This is very fun if you like trucks or any type of hauling!!. This game i play all the time before I moved i still try to play but steam keeps uninstalling it in fact uninstalling all my games. But this game is special, it is so fun if you play with friends!!

This is one of the best simulators out there really fun game I would recommend this game 1000%
Without treading too much on the toes of my ETS2 review, as it is very much the same game but set in America, this truck driving game is so much more than it's first impressions. And bear in mind it's first impressions are absolutely excellent.
For the few who don't know this is an extremely accurate and detailed simulation of the life of a long-haul atriculated truck driver. When I say accurate I mean this in every way. With a huge set of options you can make this as complicated and realistic as you could possibly need. Or, like me you can just play on a controller and chill while driving trucks a lot. Similarly detailed and accurate are the graphics and sounds, and amazing mini-me re-creation of the west and mid-west of the US of A. The roads are fun to drive and beautiful to look at.
And, as a game it is so well made. As well as just lugging cargo through diverse and interesting scenery, there are collectable sights to find, secret roads, a map which expands as you explore it, and a huge range of different jobs (who doesn't love the escorted super-heavy load missions?) Or you can just tootle around sans trailer in one of dozens of different (modern only, sadly) trucks from several manufacturers. Each cabin is as lovingly created as the scenery and there are huge customisation options for every truck. It even has a super-fun multiplayer 'convoy' mode where you can truck in a group or just paarp a 'hi, good buddy!' to a fellow trucker you pass. So much to do, you can easily pass dozens of hours in this game. There's even value in the money you earn with a passive management mode, where you can buy new depots, trucks and drivers and get them to haul stuff to build up your empire, which I found totally absorbing.
If that all sounds like high praise, I'm saving the very highest for the devs. There are few games given this much constant attention and love, and fewer still where the devs of such a big game are so interactive with their players. This game is still expanding (typically around 3 states get added each year) and I don't believe they intend to stop until they've gotten pretty much all the do-able states in!
Very, very highly recommended for almost evry type of gamer, it's kinda impossible not to get something out of this.
Red light system is way too bugged. Get violations at green lights. And just now got maybe 100 violations in 1 second delivering my cargo. Put me -40000 dollars in debt.
