This game is so realistic! highly recommend. the physics are well crafted, the models, wow! nice job SCS Software. the sounds are very real sounding, so are the jake brakes.

Great Truck Simulator(EuroTruck2 is better at that) game with a few shallow Economy Simulation Aspects.

One of these game which let u slow down, find some tranquility in life and breath.

Only one bad thing: The states get released too slowly, therefore I come back from time to time, but I actually already had my share. I just wish it was released "completely".

I have to say I absolutely love this game. There is something special about it. The massive world, the buildings and even the forests. It is crazy to think when you are driving through a city that this is a real place, I know the map is scaled down for game-play purposes but there is just something about driving. I would say the base game is a solid 8.5/10 but if I can say one thing, With the right mods it can make this game absolutely insane. This is gonna be a trust me bro moment but get the mod that removes fines for running red lights and speeding. It turns this game into a high speed adrenaline filled sprint, positively riveting. Knowing you are driving an oversized load of approximately 130,000 lbs going 90 miles an hour through a residential street with enough kinetic energy to vaporize a school bus is absolute cinema. Driving down the street like an absolute lunatic swerving around traffic makes this game feel like driving in gta 5. I have to say 10/10 with mods, rock some great music and drive.

Game is fun, definitely worth it if you get it on sale, really relaxing driving game that goes great with spotify music or podcasts.

American Truck Simulator is an exceptional game. Interesting, relaxing, totally chilled. What a great way to virtually explore the wide open vastness of the US (well, the west of it anyways.) I have given 24 hours of my life to this game this week, as well as over 100 to European truck Simulator 2 in the past month. I look forward to the hundreds of hours I will spend chilling, relaxing, and listening to music in the upcoming years. This game along with European Truck Simulator 2, and all the map DLCs are a definite buy, especially on sale. Simply a beautifully made way to relax. It's easily a 9/10 for me.

I like how realistic of a truck driving game it is. It is very relaxing, and fun. If you like trucks then this is very good for you. I wish that you can get out and walk around and I wish that you can drive more off the road like where the barriers are just to be more realistic.

The game is overall very fun and entertaining! Would definitely recommend for anyone who has a steering wheel on PC, compatible for this game! One warning though, the $19.99 purchase comes with only 3 states, with each other state costing 11-20 dollars each. However it is a great deal for a starter price!

Great game overall! It's a pretty realistic game if you set the settings right. Even then, however, some aspects are still pretty gamified. I do wish SCS would try to update the details of major cities in the base game. With the newer DLCs, you can clearly tell when you've left the base game and entered a newly added state because the details in the newer DLCs are so much better.

If you like simulator games and have a bunch of time to kill, this is the game for you

loved how realistic the game was and how there was so many function of the trucks. I very recommend for people to download this if they wanna play something when they are bored or if they are into trucking.

This game release on 2016 and fast forward to 2025 and it's still a super awesome game. WOW!! Love it. buy it, play it and fall in love with it. I thought this game doesn't have any rain but it does. It was a cold night and the thunder storm at the distance filled my screen with lightning flashes that blind my eyes just for a second as I continue my drive to delivery my oversize goods. Arrived late but I loved the ride because the scenery distracted me while I drive at night in the rain whoohoo.

Therapeutic, relaxing and acts like an anti-depressant occasionally. IDK why but I prefer this over the ETS2 for sure. Unpopulat opinion ATS>>>>>>ETS2 by a huge margin.

although its nice and it plays semi smoothly im not paying the price of dlc of this when its all apart of america and if you download the ets2 the map is like 15x bigger and better so just save your money or go for the better version.. IMO This is a empty your wallet type game. they dont care about anything other than your money i mean its 2025 and its still falling behind

Bought this on a Friday. Sunday night I'm 20 hours in, have most of the DLC Maps. I'm loving every trip! There's something awesome about doing a long haul on this game, with country music playing in the background. Just.. Iconic. Seen this game on steam for a long time, just recently decided to give it a try. For $5 you can't go wrong. I would definitely recommend if you like trucking games. It's not as slow as I thought it would be.. Hauling a triple trailers about 80mph and just grinding haul after haul. It is both one of the most boring and one of the most addicting games I've ever played. I'm not even slightly interested in driving trucks in real life, yet I've sunk an insane amount of hours into this the last 2 weeks. I love it.

Driving recklessly, such as flipping trucks or crashing into traffic, does not break the game but incurs repair costs and leads to failed jobs. The consequence is financial, not cinematic.

Even when disregarding the rules, the simulation holds up. The game does not reward chaos with explosions or exaggerated reactions. It maintains a consistent tone and world state, regardless of how it's played.

Simulation settings are customizable, allowing players to select a hardcore setup with manual gear shifting and air brake management, or opt for a casual experience with automatic controls and minimal restrictions. This flexibility allows for both immersive simulation and more relaxed, exploratory sessions.

Progression is tied to job completion. You start by driving for other companies and earning money from deliveries. Over time, you gain access to more jobs, earn more money, and unlock the ability to customize your truck. The gameplay loop centers around driving, completing deliveries, and reinvesting in your vehicle.

The map is a condensed version of the United States. While the graphics are not high-end, the environments are visually clear and recognizable. As a Canadian player, the locations felt believable. Roads, signage, and town layouts enhance the illusion of travelling across America.

Audio enhances immersion through truck sounds and environmental cues. While the game world does not react strongly to reckless behaviour, the quiet atmosphere and grounded presentation reinforce its simulation focus.

Even when ignoring several rules, the experience remained enjoyable. The game does not require players to engage with it solely as a pure simulator to be effective. It accommodates different playstyles without falling apart.

Final Rating: 7.5/10
It’s a strong, well-built game that respects your time and lets you decide how serious you want to take it, but it doesn’t quite hit the level of excitement or surprise that would push it into the 8+ range (personally) for me 😊

I liked this game at first but it gets boring quickly. I despise the fact you have to buy every state to play them. Anyways don't buy this until all 50 states are released and it goes on sale for like 20 bucks, major ripoff otherwise.

Great game to just zone out and drive with your music in the background. Very relaxing and fun to explore the U.S. as a Canadian.

I have hundreds of hours into this game and its great. I must of left it running or something because I don't remember playing it that long.Very immersive. You definitely need to pick up a wheel Kit. I I upgraded to the Moza TSW Trucking bundle and HGP shifter a while back and it makes it that much more immersive. I haven't downloaded any of the DLC's yet thought but I plan to at some point in the future.

The gold standard in truck simulators. Supported by a truly caring game company who never forgets its fanbase. 10/10

I love this game, SCS software has really made this game into something more than your average simulator game, it's a masterpiece, a work of art, the skyboxes, the graphics, the sounds it's absolutely amazing. SCS's continued work on states, revamping, adding, and having added amazing mod support, I have well over 330 hours on this game, and it has a replayability that no other game has had to keep me coming back, I love SCS and this game.

This game is amazing. The graphics are locked in, and the dev team is constantly updating and fixing any little issues.

This is one of those games that is perfect to kill time and be casual with, or you can ramp it up and be way more serious with if you want and don't have to pay extra money to do it.

Pretty nice game. Relativity no bugs or issues, and its a great experience if you just turn on spotify and drive. I'd suggest purchasing a G23 or any type of wheel before purchasing because its just a whole new level of fun. On the other hand, it is time consuming but a nice relaxed drive is pretty calming. Not too hard to play and get more successful in. 9/10, would suggest buying.

This isn't something I usually play, but to a greater extent a phenomenal surprise and something that changed my whole perspective about video games. It's a deep simulation, beautifully designed, with the opportunity of the experience of playing relaxed and immersive.

I play this game every time I feel lonely or sad. It doesn't change that, but it helps me feel a little better just to drive round the states and fantasize on becoming a trucker someday.

This game has an unstable operating platform, any hiccups, and the game crashes without warning. Doesn't matter if you have installed mods or not. The developers need to focus on the stability of the game rather that rushing out DLC's for the public.
Very Disappointing.

I have been playing this simulator for a few years now, It still gives me heaps of enjoyment and the updates to the game are regular and completely free.
There are also other options you can try by turning on/off some features like police, which lets you drive faster without penalty and rest stops which are also required but can be switched off. I use these especially when testing a new truck.
In general, there are heaps of settings you can use and mods (Moderations) you can add through the workshop option if using the Steam version.
I can't speak highly enough about this simulator

Much like Euro Truck Simulator 2, this game is weirdly meditative. I'm a big fan of the idea of fleshing out the entire USA, or better yet, all of North America (fingers crossed). So, even though each state is paid DLC, I can't help but pick them up to keep expanding the map. And I don't feel too bad about that because SCS Software is a fantastic developer that does quite a lot to faithfully represent the locations they feature in their games.

this game is so immersive that ive started to pee in bottles while i play for hours on end! i feel like a true trucker gettin the trucker experience when i do and also It feels nice 😄

I was a trucker from 1960 until 2002, when I had to retire because of my eyesight. I am 84 years old.
When I retired, my only daughter bought me a computer with a copy of the game Mid-town Madness, to keep me occupied during my retirement, and I had played it for 20 years until the computer stopped turning on.
My daughter passed away during the china flu pandemic, but last week my grandson Jack showed me American Truck Simulator and gave me his old computer to play it on. Thank you Jack. This game has reminded me not only of the good times I got from Mid-town madness but of good times gone by, when I was a trucker. Even though I proudly voted for Trump on all 3 occasions to escape Californian communism, a decision I will never regret, I enjoyed a life driving through all of Cali during my golden years. This game has brought back those good memories.
I play this game on my grandsons old computer, his steam profile that he calls his "troll alt", and a steering wheel that I have plugged into my computer. The screen is my TV.

Playing American Truck Simulator is like a part-time job, even though it doesn't feel like one. Progress is slow, but once you've saved enough to buy those coveted new tires, it all makes more sense. It might be worth waiting for more areas, but if you've always dreamed of a great American road trip, American Truck Simulator is the best way to do it without having to do the real thing.

the game does what it says it is to perfection. my favorite simulator game, step one, make coffee, step 2, open spotify and pick a pod cast, step three, launch ATS and forget about life for 750+ hours. the developers are great which many games lack these days. if you like trucking and or simgames you'll love this.
