Bro so good! i have beat the story twice and this game is amazing! my first game was bonelab and then i heard boneworks was thing I had to play it! 5/5!
Boneworks is amazing and thankfully got seen as a great game which lead to bonelabs. Boneworks is GOATED
good story and good cualaty
With the limited amount they had to work with this game REALLY shined and deserves to be played before Bonelabs. While Bonelabs Sheer amount of content is amazing and the soundtrack is great, if you want to play for the lore and atmosphere, play Boneworks. Genuinely amazing game.
When I had first picked this game up, I had a hard time getting into it and ended up putting it down for a while. After my VR legs got a bit stronger, I came back and was absolutely blown away. I know this game came out some time ago now but I was finally able to experience it in all its glory. My only complaint is that there isn't more. Also, the soundtrack is perfect. Michael Wyckoff fully understood the assignment.
Super fun and super rigid body physics
Breathtaking. A whole new world.
10/10, even with the jank.
Favorite VR game of all time.
jack black should play ford in the movie/show adaptation when it comes out frfr ong
DO NOT BUY THİS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
takes 30 mins just to "beat" tutorial where you walk around in a random-ass place that nearly teaches you nothing but doesnt forget to sya the most basic thing about VR like grabbing and interacting, bad story and a disgusting puzzle-based "sandbox"
has no better "PhYsİc system" than any other game like blade & sorcery and brags about having the best one
This game is just amazing. Like, the physics, the graphics, the gameplay, the story, the creators, the soundtrack, the design, the characters—everything about this game is amazing. I've played Bonelab before, but it is nothing compared to this game.
I’ve got 10.8 hours on it, and I don’t think I’m even halfway done (probably because I’m goofing around with the physics too much). And OMG, the sandbox? A M A Z I N G. It’s so much fun—it’s like you’re in real life, but you can do whatever you want. There are mods too if you want to experience something new.
If you haven’t bought it yet, I don’t know what you’re doing reading this. Go buy it.
This game is pretty good but i can't say i love it. This game is glazed more than Lebron James and is honestly just ok. This is definitely in the big three though alongside bonelab and half life alyx for vr games. It was great back then but now is underwhelming compared to bonelab.
this game is BORING and SLOW i want to KILL PEOPLE not solve unintuitive and clunky physics puzzles
Good game but my PC fans keeps taking off like a fucking airport
Very interesting environments and a little less interesting puzzles and combat.
The gun physics and normal physics is satisfying.
Very nice soundtrack.
great physics and cool campaign, infinite sandbox and mod replayability, i wish my bone worked irl
One of my favorite games now, very fun, physics are great, story is awesome, not *too* much of a challenge. 9.5/10 still better than Bonelab
it's like totally accurate battlegrounds if it was trying to be half life 2 and also way jankier and also took itself completely seriously
Boneworks is a fine game. It's just that, and exactly that. It's fine.
It does an awful lot of things, and none of them are going to wow you if you've played the likes of Blade and Sorcery, or HLAlyx. The melee is clumsy to the point of bare usability, the shooting is fine, but some guns aren't responsive for reloading, the puzzles require seconds of thought, and minutes of cumbersome manoeuvring. The story is... There. It's got some acting and voice acting, and even something like a plot, but it's forgettable. But despite all this mediocrity, it does boast an impressive collection of stuff, and that alone is worth something. I'm not sure what, but something.
Overall, Boneworks is a game you get on a hefty sale, to add to your repertoire of "fuck about" games. It's repetitive and predictable, but fun nonetheless.
6/10.
bone works? more like boner works
why aren't you laughing
I gave this game 7 hours worth of chances, and all I got was motion sickness and lag when I close the SteamVR menu.
this game is nice, but the guys with guns are so hard to kill.
>download game
>play through story mode for 20 minutes
>download mods and 100% save file
>never ever play story mode again and just mess around in sandbox with dumb mods
>money well spent!
Replayed the game twice, probably one of the best stories ever. Beautiful sound track, like listen to it all day kinda good. Amazing graphics, great gameplay.

The game is too janky everything feels like it made of rubber. The climbing sucks. Luckily, I don’t get motion sick but if you do this is not the game for you.
The story is very absent and the story that is there is not interesting. Also, the ending is really bad and anti-climactic.
I don’t enjoy sandbox games but if you do this is oke.
Ammo as currency? This is just a bad idea and makes the game les fun for me because I want to preserve ammo as much as possible.
Just don’t buy this game. It’s not for me and when they say that you need to have an understanding of complex physics they really mean it. Gunplay feels… off, and the story just isn’t there. Also my hands feel really tiny in this game so add an option to increase hand size please.
Was really fun, although certainly disorienting as a newbie to vr games. Wish it was a bit longer.
Pretty great, I would say 9/10
Runs on really low end hardware, I am running a 1050 TI and an i5-7500
I get more than 60 frames on default settings.
Its also just really fun because later in the game once you unlock the spawner tool you can cheat in the campaign and do really dumb stuff like beating the game with only a baseball bat.
It's very fun and it's 10 dollars less than BONELAB and also better than BONELAB.
As has been stated in other reviews, I consider this game a tech demo. It shows what can be done in VR, as well as having many very good examples of what not to do. The big issue is the full body you have in the game, and how it interacts with everything. Your avatar always acts as though they are under the influence of alcohol and heavy sedatives at all times with the way you careen around and wobble constantly. If you need to mantle a box, good luck, you will flop all around and usually just fall with a face full of crappy box textures in front of you. Climbing anything? Your in game arms are made of heavy springs and you bounce all over when hanging, like nothing that has ever existed. Swinging a weapon? It makes this funny kickball sound when you hit anything and usually does minimal damage, no matter how you swung in real life.
The few basic firearms you get work well. The MP5-a-like is a pain to reload and release the bolt catch, but the pistol and rifle work well and have good feedback. The enemies you use them on are also super basic and mostly stupid. Only the jumping headset is a real problem. The enemies also tend to spawn way more than you think they will, leading to prolonged periods of just mowing down one stumbling idiot after another.
The story to the main quest is... who knows? It tries to be mysterious and funny and scary but is non on those things. It seems to have references to things that someone might find interesting? Was the whole melon thing a big inside joke?
If you are new to VR and want a great game, go with the standards of Half Life Alex, Arizona Sunshine, Blade and Sorcery or the Half Life 2 VR mod. If you have played everything and want to test if you can still get sick in VR and it is on a deep sale, you can try this game out.
If you're looking for a VR game with a good story, Boneworks is DEFIANTLY worth a try. The sandbox aspect of the game is not as good but if you're looking for a good sandbox i'd recommend Bonelab 100%
Good story to be honest and I love how the physics are
Play bone lab if you like better customization, plus if you wanna play the story you can always play lab works.
The physics are incredible and probably some of the best I've seen in any game, but even the story blew my mind at the end. Play this, literally anything you do can be fun
only slz developed sandbox that deserves its current price tag. 40 bucks for bomelam is outrageous considering the campaign can be completed in a few hours. although it has great modding support 40 bucks is a lot for a sandbox. boneworks on the other hand can support mods (likely not as well anymore) but has a great campaign. deserves the 30 dollar price tag. would recommend
10/10 the only game where you go from cool Monogon simulation to a god in 6 to 7 hours if you just wanted to gun through the game fast
You will get around 11 hrs of pure gameplay. It's a good game but can be a bit tiring and cause burnout. Inventory system is sometime flaw especially the one on the right waist area. Repetitive climbing or trying to get capsule to the end of the level is fatiguing. I would want this game to be around $15 instead of $20+
i love mr ford arthur and his anti pingas antics
(Seriously Boneworks is a must buy if you can handle a little motion sickness, Despite some bugs i would still highly recommend buying this fun experimental sandbox shooter!)
fun but annoying to mod and bad with stickdrift
So far I really like Boneworks. I only really just completed the Museum of Technical Demonstration, and i’m now in the city part. I did play Bonelab before this, so the physics are about the same. i’ll see how i like the game when i finish it tho
This game is legendary!! It is super realistic and also it is just a cool game.
Still (in my opinion) one of the greatest VR games to be released. No game will top the physics and handling of this game. If you plan on playing the sequel, Bonelab, PLEASE play this game first. They are both AMAZING games but experiencing Boneworks and all it has to offer before hopping into its sequel is the best way to experience the Monogon world.
Boneworks isn’t just a game—it’s a full-body VR experience that pushes the limits of physics-based interaction. From the moment you step in, everything in the world reacts realistically to your movements, whether you’re climbing, vaulting over obstacles, or using objects as improvised weapons. The gunplay and melee combat feel incredibly satisfying, allowing for creative and tactical engagements against enemies. Unlike most VR games with simplistic mechanics, Boneworks encourages experimentation, rewarding players who use their environment to their advantage. It’s not just a shooter—it’s a sandbox where you can approach combat and exploration however you like.
While the physics system is impressive, it can sometimes feel clunky, and there’s a bit of a learning curve to mastering movement. The story, while intriguing, takes a backseat to the sheer fun of playing around with the game’s mechanics. That said, even years after its release, Boneworks remains one of the most immersive and innovative VR games out there. If you’re looking for a game that truly makes you feel present in a virtual world, it’s absolutely worth picking up—especially on sale. It’s a must-play for VR enthusiasts who love deep interaction and sandbox-style gameplay.
Raaahh best vr game out there half life alyx cant beat this, by the way try bonelab it feels a bit more open world but boneworks is still a masterpiece
Every time i start having fun it gets broken up by some physics puzzle that doesnt work and i have to brute force it
Feels pretty good to play. SCARILY optimized. Wish it had more weapon variety tbh.
Feels like Portal but VR. Good combat
BONEWORKS is everything VR gaming should aspire to be. From its innovative mechanics to its seamless immersion, this game takes virtual reality to the next level. I absolutely love how the physics are integrated into every aspect of the gameplay—it’s incredibly satisfying to interact with the world in such a dynamic way. You can spend hours just experimenting with the weapons in the opening segment, and honestly, it never gets old.
What really sets BONEWORKS apart is the freedom it offers. The ability to grab, throw, and manipulate enemies is both thrilling and surprisingly fun. Plus, the gunplay feels natural and immersive, making every shootout intense and engaging. If you're looking for a VR experience that feels less like a game and more like an adventure in a fully interactive world, BONEWORKS is an absolute must-play.
Whether you're into intense combat or simply love messing around in a sandbox environment, this game has something for everyone.
It's good with mods. But the campain is the best out of every vr game i played so far (not as good as hla but close)
I like the story mod in boneworks i would make a guide how to beat story mode but im sill working on it love the things - Gorillavr35
For: Boneworks team
Amazing story its great for its time you should get this game if you want story. the loading screens are long but other than that you should get this game as long as you have the right PC your set.
