The Forestale is a platformer in old-school 2000s style.
I got inspired by masterpieces like Crash Bandicoot, Tiny Toon, Mario etc.
You play as a moderately plump and fast rabbit going by the name Alex, you'll overcome various traps, defeat monsters and bosses, upgrade the main character, find secrets and also map pieces.
Features:- Moderately difficult, but there is Hard Mode for those who'll think it's too easy. :)
- Time attack mode for every level. And if you beat my time, you'll get a cup. This can be quite hard. =) Also, if you somehow beat all levels faster than me, you'll get a prize, and a bonus I'll tell you about during the release. =)
- Old-school 3D graphics style of 2000s. I consider it an advantage, because I love the graphics of those times!
- Character upgrading, ability shop, assorted items that extend the player's abilities. You can make the main character more agile, faster, and even luckier!
- 20 levels, plus secret and bonus levels, to explore.
- Gamepad support, with support for DirectInput (all PC gamepads), XBox 360 and PS2 gamepads.
- Support for 3D stereo graphics and anaglyph glasses (like in the cinema), which will enhance the effect from the 3D environment.
- Optional pixelization and 256 color palette mode, for fans of pixel games. ;)
- Secret maps, rare upgrades, bonus levels and hard-to-reach places will make your journey exciting, exploring the cozy game world.
- A real indie game. No assets. No budget. :D
This game has been in development for three years. I make 3D models and 2D art, design the gameplay and levels, write code - all by myself, except music and some sounds.
An unusual peculiarity: the game is built on GZDoom - an improved version of idTech1, the engine used by legendary games like Doom 1 and 2, Hexen, Heretic, Strife, and others.
I really hole you enjoy the game!
