Changed is a game of a particular niche- If you're not interested in exploring themes that involve non-consensual transformation into something that really isn't *you* anymore, you probably won't be too interested. It tends towards a certain lewdness that may also put some off.

If you can get passed that though, there are incredibly deep questions about what it means to be alive, to be a person, forming bonds and what you would do to protect them... or yourself.

Leaving aside the game's infamy... it's solid. The music isn't bad (though it's quite loud), the art is decent, and the puzzles are challenging. Sometimes a bit too challenging.

As a game, Changed is fine. As a piece of furry and TF art, it's great. Either way, it's worth playing so you can cause your friends psychic damage by referencing it.

Unbelievably difficult to play beyond enjoyment, but has great art. The gameplay requires failing a level many times before figuring everything out. Unless you can execute commands with frame perfect accuracy forget about it.

Fun although the game is... difficult. and some stuff like the boss fights or sequences are luck related 90% of the time.

Please add key bindings so I can change it to WASD because my arrow keys don’t work even when I get a new keyboard if this is a normal thing, I don’t know how to fix it and if it isn’t, I still don’t know how to fix it

(This is a review of specifically the original version of the game) I liked most of the game and had fun figuring out puzzles without all the hand-holding games do now-a-days. I struggled through some of them and if the 4 rooms with the etched numbers puzzle didn't help you out upon re-examining the page I would have been stuck for a while.

The art and music were wonderful to look at and listen to. The music fit the situations it made for and was nice to listen to. The way rooms were depicted was something I was not used to (This is only the second RPG Maker game I have played the other being OMORI) but was still fun to explore and organized in a way that made navigation easy when it needed to be and difficult when it needed to be.

Additionally, the story is intriguing and it is fun to think about what I would do if in the situation. However, if you choose to read through every note in the game it gets a little repetitive, every section seemed to have a note about the virus, the research, and the break-in, not to mention that both of the characters that talk to you discuss it at length. Speaking of!

The characters are wonderfully written! I love how desperate Dr. K is in all of his depictions, he knows what is at stake and knows he needs to act fast. I like how Puro is written as well, as someone who is lonely in his pursuits of intelligence. I even like how the human is written, which is impressive since mostly-silent-protagonists tend to be really hard to relate with.

Lastly the endings, and how to reach them were also quite nice. I enjoyed each ending itself, making sense in the context of which decisions were made. My only complaint with the endings themselves is the way you reach the better ones. I like exploring dialogue in RPG games and when the good ending is attached to saying the right thing in a one-time choice can be a little annoying. However, even this I ended up not minding too much once I understood that this was the reason I was reaching certain endings, as I then understood that I needed to think more about what what I was picking.

TL;DR: I liked the game very much and was able to look past its few flaws and enjoy the story being told.

SUPER TL;DR: 8.7/10

Most fun game i ever played, its just sad i gotta wait for changed special edition to come out free, im broke and cant play 10 dollars a month for patreon

The gameplay is entirely built around running away, avoiding enemies, etcetera - and that's fine, and being difficult is fine - but it's janky as hell, with inconsistent collision detection, badly telegraphed danger, a huge amount of trial and error. All the polish of a deliberately frustrating flash game from 2009 - and the repetitive, plink-plonky background music to match. God, it even does the thing where it doesn't loop correctly and so there's a jarring cut-out once a minute while the mp3 restarts. I'm truly back in high school.

That could all be forgiven if the set dressing were nice. But changing into a latex anthro is considered a game-over state. And, like, that's what we're here for, I thought? "Changed?" more like. "Don't change." more like. "Remain a twink." That is what the game should be called. "Remain a normal human twink."

So I accidentally left this game on while i was out doing shit and came back to it almost completely bugging the hell out. It was one of the funniest and strangest things to happen to one of my games in a while... also fuck this game because how the fuck is it that Puro cant fight against dr house because I didn't wait for his slow ass to walk with me to a door, and had to restart at the godamn shark fight. fuckkkk.

very short and sweet expierience. if you can survive looking at furry characters and some minor suggestive content (there really isn't that much of it, maybe like 3 occurences, which are very mild for what i expected after hearing this was a fetish game). it is one of the few games that made me feel genuinely sad. a great short little story about hopes, dreams, questioning the point of goals and the consequences of trying to achieve them. with a few cute furries mixed in it.
note: i haven't played the special edition yet, i don't know if that one got super fetishy, but the original version didn't so just don't play special if that's the case and you don't like fetish content, but i can't say much more because i have no clue what special looks like yet.

I played this game to review (in a video, not here) it, and i can wholeheartedly reccomend it.
if you can look past this being a fetish game, you can enjoy this.

First half (begin to aquarium) is ok (still a lot of reset but it not as much as second half)
Second half (from white latex forest to the end) make a lot of reset and a lot of pain

this game has a cool idea but. i cant recommend this game because of the themes. this is technically a soft-core furry porn game. the puzzles, if you can do the shape puzzles back when you were 5 then you can solve it. thank you for reading

Absolutely beautiful game.
The story is wonderful and deep, I'd even say it's realistic, too.
As for difficulty, yeah, it can get pretty hard at points, but that makes it that much more fun, having to persevere to get past one more room, one more room, one more room.
All in all, I would recommend this to all of my friends and family if I didn't think they would find it weird due to the furry/transformation aspects.

Went blind into this game, having only seen the characters before. The story is very interesting and I didn't expect it from this game. Left me exploring for more throughout the hours that I played.

Despite its strange and unusual nature for certain people, I find CHANGED to be a very interesting game with an unique concept, one that I haven't seen before. Its a one-of-a-kind indie game that seamlessly blends challenging puzzles, a deeply emotional narrative and a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere. The game stands out not just for its intrigue premises but for the experience it offers to those who are willing diving into the CHANGED world.

I find the chase sequences and boss fights are particularly well-designed. They provide me adrenaline rush while keeping the tension high, making success deeply rewarding once you finish with one.

However, the difficulty can be unforgiving at times, which may frustrate some players. Despite this, the challenge enhances the immersion and forces you to adapt and learn from your mistakes.

I paid about 5-8 dollars for this I played, horrible experience, I dislike this so much wasted 18 hours of my life playing this waste of a game. I am to late for a refund but it's just taking away storage space. HORRIBLE DO NOT recommend

Changed is not a good game.
Simply put, its not fun.
The gameplay is repetitive, simple to a fault, and incredibly punishing when you make the most minor of mistakes. Its through and through a game of trial and error, that wants you to "die" as much as possible...
...And that's the point.
You already know why you came to this game. It wasn't to experience a vibrant new world, it wasn't for a breath taking story, and it certainly wasn't to experience the most fun and fluid gameplay of your life either. You are here because you are horny. Truth be told, I cant really blame you for that. I have the game too after all.
With that being the case though, why write a review for the game at all in the first place?

some of the worst and pointlessly annoying controls I have ever come across in gaming. Its lengthy and not very eventful or interesting, It also suffers from a significant degree of furry bait syndrome which has cultivated a shoddy image and empty attention toward everything except the actual game.

i bought a damn keyboard just to play this game (because somehow you need arrows and i have a 60% keyboard)

Certainly a good challenge, but not the game for everyone. The story had glimmers of good concepts but none of them were overall executed that well in my opinion. And the games main appeal is not for everyone, and certainly not for me. Could certainly be improved upon, and I hope changed special is a nicer experience.

This game is a very hard (and sometimes annoying) puzzle game with bosses and chase sequences. It's not unusual to get stuck at a part again and again but the game was built that way, it's what you have to expect which makes it feel good once you beat it. It's frustrating but enjoyable at the same time.

(I still hate the sharks though, they can go drown)

This game leaves me CRAVING for more. It is such a masterpiece.
Being a furry myself, I already felt very interested in this, and after playing it, I'm only dissappointed that the game ends. I wish it would never. such a masterpiece, Puro is a cute lil 10/10 character imo! everything fits together, and it just makes a great game, even with the flaw of being awfully vague with the puzzles.

Genuinely was a fun game. The story is great, it was reasonably difficult, and it was a nice mix between a puzzle game and a more exploration based game. It wasn't a fast paced game, and took time to get all of the endings. For anyone wondering, if you were to do a perfect speedrun of one ending, it would be around an hour, but there are six separate endings, but the save feature would make it quicker, so then I would say around two to three hours for all of the endings. The music is also beautiful, really enhancing the game. One complaint I do have is that there is no controller support, as I think it could really enhance the game and I did originally get this game to play on my ROG ALLY. For some more technical details, it was playable most of the time on an i5 6200U on an SSD with Fedora KDE and Proton, but some levels were kind of choppy, but please note, there was some thermal throttling at times and it's a mobile 6th gen i5 (AKA a mobile CPU in a laptop that costed $25 USD with an SSD installed). Worth it for $5, and can basically run on bad hardware if you are running Tiny10 or some form of Linux that has XFCE. Also a really good cheap gift idea for anyone who may be a furry, and I for sure will be suggesting it to a friend who is a furry.

My view of Changed is a difficult top down puzzle game, with some clear imperfections(be it bugs, balancing, or being a bit tedious) and a hell of a lot of charm and character. There is a bit of fetish stuff, but I feel like it isn't enough for the innocent minded to even take notice. The characters are easy to make relationships with(feeling happy with or angry towards) and feel shockingly fleshed out to me. There is definitely some banging of one's head against a wall if you choose to solve puzzles with no guide, and some of the bits can feel slightly unfair. Overall, I'd say a game that makes you really feel something like this one did for me, is worth your $5, I did really become attached to characters; Puro . (at time of writing I have no experience in the "special addition," but got all the endings)

TLDR: A imperfect and charming game that truly evokes emotion, and is well worth the $5 to play
