Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy - это карательная игра в скалолазание, дань уважения классическому «Sexy Hiking» 2002 года в стиле Jazzuo.

Only reason I would ever find to try and beat this game is if the narrator was at the end of the journey and I got to use my hammer to beat his skull in.
for those who enjoy struggle with complements and a game that takes ages
Actually one of the most fun games I've played in a while.
The thing is, people go into this with the completely wrong mindset. Yes, it will be difficult
Yes, you will fail,
Yes, it will take a long time
Yes, there is a lot to learn
BUT
You will actually get better over time. My first playthrough took 15 hours, second took 45 minutes. Keep going, you will get further than you will have imagined so.
8/10, Steam Workshop support should be included.
As it stands right now, I’ve beaten this game 10 or more times, and each time I beat it, I love it even more. If you’re looking for one time rage game, then this one works, but the replay value is very high once you’ve gotten your first win. Not only is this game fun, but it’s very philosophical, and tests the willpower and patience of those who play it.
I love this game, the hate around it is the hate and negativity it causes, I have never raged going up the mountain cause the game is about trial and error and thats the art of getting over it.
Accidentally one of the most enlightening games humanity has ever invented. Play this long enough to get frustrated. Then watch the world-record speedrun, to understand that any progress this game takes from you can be regained in under a minute. Let it sink in just how illusory and inflated the loss behind the frustration was - the entire mountain can be beaten faster than you can read this text. With that in mind, realize how much more effective and quick you could've been if you approached this game like an invulnerable infant would approach learning to run. So flail wildly, fling yourself recklessly, play with quick movements no matter where they take you, because now you know the fastest way up the mountain is to get over your fear of falling back down.
You get better and better at it, the pain of the first few tries is so worth it.
I don't wanna spoil too much but there's something about this game that I can't quite explain well that just makes it worth playing and beating all the way through.
Love this game. I've beaten it just a few times already but if you're wanting to try it out, the best tip I can give is to have constant control over your movements. Every swing needs to be deliberate. Have fun :3
A while ago when i first beat this game it felt as if i had overcome a huge obstacle and it really left me wanting more. despite the pain and suffering it brings you in the end the feeling you get is so worth it. For me its one of those games I wish I could play for the first time again and the reason I say this is because it is much easier to beat after your first play through. If your considering buying the game do it its well worth it.
and people still say that a human without legs can't do anything.
This man got to the top of the mountain without any transport, what?
It's a journey that u won't forget. It's really worth it, don't search any speedruns before playing the game💀
I have PTSD now.
Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, is a game I would recommend to others. I think nothing can capture the feeling quite like the original Foddian game.
this game is the best when depresed the encouragment helps so much as when depressed you are to tired to hate or get mad and lets you be alone with your thoughts with a simple task
Bro i changed 5 keyboards since I started to play this game and it is not like you just leave it no no no because it makes you addicted to it and you just rage quit and then erter again
how to enjoy getting over it
1.buy the game
2,fall down
3.uninstall and realize you lost money
4,get over it
There is not a lot that can be said about this game. Sometimes it makes you feel like you should give up, Sometimes it makes you absolutely hate the game, Sometimes the game is too much for you. I don't usually write reviews for games but this game should be termed as a masterpiece for its honest difficulty and its incredible satisfaction. If you ever reach the end of getting over it, especially on the first time, there is no better feeling than knowing you made it to the top, no matter what obstacle was put in your path. This is what modern games should be like and for that I applaud you, Bennett Foddy. There is no game that teaches a better lesson than this one.
EZ game, a story about punishment and reflection
Strongly recommend for masochism
Forget about how other people describes thing game for a second. For the entirety of your first play-through, this is a puzzle game and a very good one at that. You probably shouldn't consider climbing the mountain as "progress" since at first it's most likely you won't even understand how you climbed up. Hopefully, you'll find that falling down is another opportunity to practice climbing back up a little bit faster since it's the most useful skill in the beginning.
My first run took me about 4h30min, my second 30 min and my third 20 min now I'm on my 280th and I take about 4-5min in average. I'm still bad compared to the real ones, but I'm slowly getting somewhere.
*I checked the trackpad tuning option in the settings since it makes the controls much smoother in my opinion.
*You should probably take breaks on your first play-through since you can't really brute force it and have fun at the same time. I certainly did. Games should be fun.
Markiplier wasn't exaggerating when he played this game for the first time, it really is just that deep, I'm trying not to destroy my pc set up with every fiber of my being, this game requires you to fight against the janky controls while going up steep surfaces, it isn't easy.
I played this the day it came out from Humble and I was hooked immediately. Listening to the story, climbing the mountain, failing, falling, restarting. The climb is long, I think my first completion was around 8 hours. By the time I got the golden pot, I think I was down in the 6 minute range.
This game checks all the boxes for a good, skill based game that a lot of the clones don't:
The physics are crisp and repeatable
There is infinite skill progression
There are routes to explore and different ways to tackle objectives
There are varied obstacles and techniques that build on each other as you climb the mountain. Everything feels meticulously intentional, bad or good
It's frustrating and rewarding, and everyone should give it a try at least.
Also: turn on trackpad tuning or the game is actually bad.
The strength in this absolute unit is insane, he can fling himself up to ten metres with one push of a hammer.
A game with great philosophical and psychological points of interest and dialogue, that is the main thing that kept me going to finally beat this game after so long. The hidden quotes and meanings behind what Foddy is actually saying is actually extremely interesting. The entire game is one giant extended metaphor with a different interpreted meaning, and I think that is amazing.
This game has an outstanding philosophy look to it. I rage hard while climbing up the mountain listening to philosophy. While the specific quotes describe the current situation. I've beaten this game three or four times; it's very exciting. I recommend this masterpiece because of the story and wisdom to climb up the mountain.
A wacky rage game at first glance that will, if you let it, become fun as you get better at it and be almost therapeutic by the end. Do recommend joining the hike.
I just completed my 70th-something summit and I can say this really is one of my favorite games. If you listen to Foddy, and you sit with him, day after day, he has something to teach you. I know a lot of people focus on the gameplay, but Foddy really did have some insight to share, and it's worth listening to again and again. It was a good ride.
I can see why the game is rage inducing. But i think its not the games fault. I've played many many games Souls games, rage games, calm games, horror games, and survival games. Not once did i throw my hands up in anger or toss my chair or mouse at the wall like Markiplier did. I've struggled with my anger in the past and i for one enjoy this game. It's relaxing. I understand why that may seem a bit far-fetched but it is. This game isn't a rage game but an art style. The developer understands that this game will make people upset and acknowledges this in his commentary. He encourages you to take breaks and to come back later. This game might be showing you something in yourself that you need to deal with.
The pain I experienced while playing this game reminded me of my real-life pains. The pain this game leads to, is incredibly therapeutic. Highly recommended if you are either a masochist, a traumatized person, or both.
Difficult game, but listen to a nice podcast along with it and you're good. Probably.
Good game.
When they are old enough, this will be the first game my children play.
They will not be allowed to play any other game, until they beat this one.
I would and not recommend this game, pretty much depending on if you get angry easily, i got the game when it was on sale for what i can remember 1.75 Euros, the graphics are great but really difficult, sometimes the game lags even when you keep the quality and graphics to low, but that only occurs randomly so its not an issue that comes up ofter, but these obstacles are easy and almost impossible at the same time, i already had like 10 hours on this game and i was still at either the bottom or at the slide part, when i booted the game up today it felt like a miracle when i went past to part with the orange with no mistakes, but i'm at the slope when the anvil is, then you make it up higher, it begins to become hard because of the snow and ice, i keep slipping but i'll give this a shot soon, i really only recommend this game to those who don't get mad easily, otherwise your whole PC will have a dent in it.
You probably know what this game is, but if you don't, this is more of a patience test than a game. Controlling your dude is more challenging than the environment, but that is clearly a deliberate choice. People say that like this is the worst game ever or somethin' but it does everything it sets out to do pretty nicely, it is exactly what Mr. Foddy advertised it out to be. I also like the music and the message and the philosophy of the game a lot too, there are many points I agree with
Good game. Difficult, but not impossible. Rewarding.
This game has brought me to tears. It has ripped my soul out of my chest, threw it on the ground, and smashed it to pieces. All stages of grief, as well as new ones that would baffle psychologists, have flown through me. I've cried, shouted, and even laughed at what this game has thrown at me. Nothing has ever made me feel this bad in life before, and its only been 2hrs.
I highly recommend this game :)
In the time it has taken me to beat Getting over it my views on the gaming industry have changed.
We as people have been trained to love ourselves no matter what, and i think that shines with Getting over it. the game is objectively a good game, its high quality, and the world is crafted with pure passion. you can write a bad review for this game, get all your frustrations out on that little red thumbs down, but at the end of the day YOU'RE the problem, YOU suck at the game. and i stand by that thought, you can't get mad at a game for being hard, you can only get mad at yourself for sucking at it.
practice makes perfect, and i think this game portrays that in a perfect way.
i may have not played this game the most amount of times, but i can assure you I've beaten it. i may still by young but i think all of you people are the ones who need to grow up.
write a sh!tty review, go ahead, i wont stop you.
but keep in mind that Bennett didn't make a bad game, you're just bad at the game.
nobody is forcing you to play this game (hopefully), walk away, delete the game, never play it again. but it will be sitting in your steam library, forever mocking your failures.
please don't let my thoughts belittle yours, just keep my opinion in the back of your mind when you play the game, enjoy this rage game and play to the very end, the feeling of freedom and happiness is worth the wait
trust me.
NIGHTMINER121 - 2025.
This game makes me clench like I did trying to play Mario when I was nine years old. The chimney is no longer a challenge but I still have so so far to go as I've only recently reached the orange. It will make you marvel at your own muscle memory as you bop your way through the beginning sections that once made your mouse hand curl and cramp in ineptitude.
i have finally beaten this game after it has beaten me for hours on end. i'm not sure if the victory was worth it. not even by 50%. but i feel satisfied, i feel complete. the developer bested me with his game, and now i have bested the game. fair play, mr foddy.
first time you play it it's a rage game after that its a chill rock climbing game. more fun than games that cost 100 million dollars to produce.
This game is rage at first but now im a speedrunner and completed this game in a whopping 2:58 seconds
no matter how openly hostile you become towards Bennet for this bullshit, no matter how many times you say something about killing him, this is a great game and well worth it by the end

After 26 attempts and a personal record of 5:49 i managed to get over my anger issues. i'm not mad anymore, when i fall i don't rage, in fact, i don't feel anything at all not when i fall nor when i reach the top.
absolutely recommend
This is a 10/10 game game but it's missing one key feature. BEING ABLE TO TAKE THE HAMMER AND SLAM IT ON MY FOREHEAD. But great game otherwise
I've completed it once before, yet i bought it again on this account, this game is a masterpiece, I've struggled with depression all my life and this game makes me feel peace even though its hard, it resembles life, how for a certain moment you are at peak with all the happiness and excitement in this world and the next moment you've lost it all and are struggling to even have the will to get back up, but you do that's what makes you and the world keep going, i love how the developer includes different quotes, music, stories to not get bored throughout, all the streamers and weirdos did sure make it sound like a rage bait game, yes it is hard but they all miss such a good lesson this game teaches you. i am not sure i can recommend it to anyone just for the sake for making people play it but i myself think its a really good game and i would always come back to it when i feel down for every time i play this game, it makes me rethink my thoughts and why i should not be depressed as life is nothing but a path with a bunch of obstacles. 🍀
TL;DR: I love this game :D
Great chill game. I wish there was workshop for more maps
a rage inducing yet fun endeavour the first time round. The same could be said if you try refining your end time. (btw if your going for achievements don't play on steamdeck atm cause i finished 50 times on it and not a single achievement)
Just in case anyone was wondering: No, having all achievments in Getting Over It does not get you any play whatsoever. Good game though
I don't think this is a game tbh. Its just one mechanics with bunch of assets made into a "platform". I played many games with more enjoyable and challenging platforming mechanics as a side content. It's just not worth it.
Let's be honest you are buying it because it looked fun while watching someone else struggle but it's not gonna be fun when you try it.
and yes i finished the game
This game make me want to die sometimes, but I've improved, and you will too if you ever decide to play this game again. My first run took 10 HOURS. YES 10. My second was 2 hours! My third? 32 minutes!!!! Believe in yourself, you got this. Don't give up, Don't rage quit, rage quitting makes you feel less accomplished. I almost quit when I fell at Orange Hell for the 6th time, but I kept going and actually beat the game!!
The controls are infuriating, the game design is infuriating, the sections are infuriating, the narrator interrupting is infuriating, the music is infuriating, and yet... I keep playing.
After seeing soooo many Youtubers and Streamers play and rage and shout bloody murder at this game, I thought I would follow, to my surprise I felt a sort of 'Zen' playing this, I never got angry or annoyed or frustrated. The opposite, really. I attempt a section, fail, try again, fail again losing all my progress at that point and I would laugh, because I wasn't angry, I was learning. Slowly but surely I was making progress, inching slowly forward. Until that was it. This isn't for everyone, and a lot of people hate this game for valid reasons. But this game's purpose is in it's own title. If you can't 'get over it'. This isn't for you.
