Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy - это карательная игра в скалолазание, дань уважения классическому «Sexy Hiking» 2002 года в стиле Jazzuo.

Good game but absolute bootycheeks of controlls. Straight up bootyslime.
Great game. played for 3 hours. its now 4am. Only progress is done mentally by listening to Shakespeare and realising you are more of a failure than you though you were. 10/10 I will be going down the road feeling bad tomorrow.
Getting over it is the Dark Souls of climbing games. I don't mean it because it's hard. I mean it because this game presents itself to you, and expects you to learn it. There are no checkpoints, no easy difficulty. It teaches you to not give up, and no matter how much you fall, how much you start, you get the fuck back up.
This game is fun but a little aggravating but trust its worth it.
I bought this game a number of years ago and tried it for a few minutes then completely quit. I hated playing this stupid fucking game so much but then later in the day I went right back to playing it. Over the course of probably a few months I slowly got farther and farther thru the game but then. ORANGE HELL! This is when I stopped playing for years. It infuriated me so much but I just couldn't get past it. A few months ago I picked it back up again and started a fresh run. But this time I didn't get mad I just got thru it. I continued to struggle but for whatever reason I wanted to keep playing. It way longer than I would like to admit but I finally beat the game and got over it. The official time of the run was about 7 and a half hours. In total I spent more than some 26 or 36 hours playing the game before I actually beat it. But after it was done, I felt a feeling of relief I haven't ever felt. I felt complete. And then I started a new run. The second time I got over it in 28 min. So far my best time is 6min 50sec. I have now beat the game 50 times. And I am so over it. But the more I play this game, the more and more I hate it. But for whatever reason I still loving playing it. I can't recommend this game enough, It is an amazing experience but the only reason it feels so good to get over it is because of the hours of struggle it takes. If you have any spare change purchase this game. And don't quit. No matter how much you hate losing progress, keep playing. It will be an experience like no other. This game is something I will return to for years and years to come. I love this game.
A PERFECT game. One of my favorites. Climbing the amazingly well designed mountain while listening to Bennett Foddy's commentary (while constantly falling over) was one of the best experiences I've had. I wish I could erase my memory and skills and play it for the first time again, although even after beating the game over 50 times and speedrunning it, I never got bored. (my hours mean nothing, I got the game on steam only recently)
I hate this game.. i really do..but i keep trying and when i did get it I love it... but then again I hate this game because now i dont get how it works again... so download it and feel what I feel... dewww it..
Here's my thought process on playing this game and why it's *bad*.
To play this game, you have to follow these steps:
1.) install the game
2.) play the game
3.) die.
4.) swear. A lot. A LOT.
5.)(optional) cry.
6.) win the game!
7.) uninstall the game!
That's it. If you don't like unnecessary suffering, then good, you're a normal person and should stay away from this game!
This game has absolutely killed me only after one hour, i thought i was the pinnacle of raw talent absolutely shredding through this game but no. Every time i get close i get sniped from the heavens, With adversaries akin to the best trickshotters ever i launch myself back to the start of the game with effortless skill.
I have speed ran this game over 150 times. Its fun to try to get a lower and lower time. Its also fun to find the easter eggs after you beat it. Or you can download mods. Don't just beat it one time. There is a lot more too do. If you like a challenge its a must play.
This game is so fun you rage a little but it is so fun and you should try it
the game itself crashes or my pc when i try opening it on windows 11 10/10
it is good
it is very fun but dificult at th4 sam3 time]
Game was terrible when youtubers played it back in 2017; controls are still terrible nearly 7 years later
Wow! Just wow! This has got to be one of the best games I have ever played. This is greater than what I think fentanyl would feel like. Completing this game for my 450th time has made me understand that there is no life without this game. It has made me understand that life without this game is empty, nothing, worthless... maybe even not worth living. The first time I set eyes on this game, I knew I had to buy it, so I started scamming the elderly and robbing multiple people until I had reached my goal of purchasing this absolute masterpiece. I have made a career out of this game, I have made a family out of this game, and most of all, I have made my whole entire life revolve around this game. Every one of my kids birthdays have been Getting Over It with Bennet Foddy themed. This game is just simply... my everything. Over 300 hours on this game and I havent even reached the top of speedrun.com, yet I never stop because the game inspires me to keep on going, no matter the set backs, and no matter the troubles. What especially inspires me and REALLY gets me going is Bennet Foddy's beautiful voice in the background, mixed with the classic tune of a soothing piano, both just blended together perfectly like pb and j. And if I didn't mention already, This game has changed my life for the better. Before this glorious video game/lifestyle, I was homeless, addicted to crack, paying child support, $5,719,402 in debt, and worst of all, not playing Getting Over It with Bennet Foddy. I write an ode to the one and only Bennet Foddy, the one who has changed my life drastically, the one who has made THE masterpiece. And for those still on the edge, still hopeless, and still wondering if making this purchase is worth it, think of it like this: would you rather keep living your current horrible and sad life, or would you rather change for the better and spend the rest of your life dedicated to getting at the top of the mountain, at the very tip, just for a great surprise waiting for you. The choice is yours. I highly recommend buying this game and will be playing this masterpiece for the rest of my living days. Thank you for your time.

Honestly, I'm over it.
For me this game masterfully combined a somewhat philosophical storytelling like Dear Esther with the despair of Jump King
not a good game.
okay so weirdly this is super relaxing to me, love the mechanics, game sound isnt working tho, but i listen to music anyways. i just see the subtitles flaming me for failing, but i simply dont care because i can optimize my route by doing it again
Interesting game.
Falling down feels worse than your wife of fourteen years divorcing you and taking the kids, but something keeps me coming back to that stupid, bald, hammer-wielding fella.
The narration and the idea behind the game is very fascinating.
Still a great experience in 2024. Def recommend this as a rite of passage to all Gamers.
I hoped, that this is going to be fun. I was wrong. The game gave me a specific type of pain. I would describe it like this: You just finished what needed to be done, you brewed some coffee, sat down to enjoy your free time, but immediatly your doorbell starts ringing and you need to get up and go there, than repeat over and over again. It just not for me. Since the game is very well received you may offcourse feel different.
It was a really easy game and i don't think it lived up to the expectation of it being a rage game. The first time it took me 6 minutes to beat it and I've kept going at it and it takes like 2 minutes to beat. It's kind of fun but it's way too easy and way too short.
Went into this game thinking I was gonna hate it, actually really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed Bennett Foddy's commentary and never really felt like it was obnoxious. I swear the movement of the hammer would just randomly stop working at sometimes but besides that it was smooth and fun to use. It's surprising how short the game actually is when you get the hang of it. Overall, nice experience.
i found it challenging but its good. btw all the bad rewies are just players who get mad when losing. somehow i consider this game calm sometimes
very fun and new player friendly game i recommend it for people who want a nice adventure and to have a great time while also getting over some hard obstacles
If you want to play video games to escape reality, don't play this. The pain of losing all your progress is worse than getting laid off. Other than that though, I've been wanting to play this game for years and I finally got around to buying it. It's very well made, and the narrator has a perfect balance of making you reflect and provoking you to snap your monitor in half. 10/10
This game is extremely hard and a test of your mental strength. Download if you would like a huge challenge!! I have played this for 7 hours and still haven't got past like halfway
After countless hours of playing, I can confirm that this game is not worth buying and should be played by nobody.
Hi, I've beat this game 100+ times. This game is a zen experience in which you, yourself, the player learn lean to harness your emotions and embrace the frustration of starting over. 10/10 Would recommend!
this game pushed me to a higher being. thru all the struggles i still loved it and the ending was the most rewarding of all. and now i have beat this game over 60 times and each i time i win the better i feel. awesome game you should buy and really beat it trust me you wont regret it.
This game is actually amazing and ruined other games like this for me. The narration is what sets this game apart and makes the experience so much better. Truly feels like there is a lesson to be learned by playing and contributes to the sense of accomplishment you get when you finish.
"when games were new, they wanted a lot from you.
daunting you, taunting you, resetting and delaying you.
players played stoically. now everyone's turned off by that
they want to burn through it quickly, a quick fix for the fickle
some tricks for the clicks of the feckless
but that's not you, you're an acrobat
you could swallow a baseball bat"
I've only gotten to the top twice... the first time was one of the most memorable gaming moments ever.
This game is truly unforgiving and beautiful. It's just you, leading Diogenes with his hammer and cauldron through a path built of stock objects.
The journey will be tough, but trust me, it's all worth it in the end.
If you're far into the game and a setback happens, remember you didn't lose everything; experience stays with you and you're making progress in way or another.
TL;DR: I 100% recommend this and when times get rough, just give it more time.
I love this game, & I thank Bennet Foddy from the bottom of my heart for creating such an amazing experience, a work of profound art, a deep zen journey, with wisdom collected from all of humanity.
Great game, for sure plan on going for 50 completions. Just takes a bit to get used to the controls, once you do that, you are set. First run took me about 3 hours, run after that took an hour, my third run took 20 minutes. When you start, you think "how does anyone do this", and then you just figure it out.
An exercise in patience and letting go of frustration.
This game initially triggers that frustration like no other no other, I took a 6 year break before coming back to get over it. However, slowly, you gain greater control, both in game and in you reaction to any mistake. That makes progress, inch by inch, easier to achieve. My first run (having not restarted from my initial attempt) was just over 10 hours. My last run, to achieve the 50th ascent was just over 10 minutes.
At the right time of life this can be a game like no other but be prepared to bounce off it initially.
Fun and extremely challenging game.
The gameplay itself is very well made, even though it looks like a bunch of assets thrown haphazardly onto a canvas.
I would not recommend this game if you have any anger issues, or get easily frustrated, as it will take many hours to finish(with many setbacks along the way)
it fun and god just perfect takes some time to master but after a while you can beat it even 50 times and more
ive pirated this game in 9th grade and beat it on a school computer; yesterday i finally decided to purchase this game in support of the creator. I've beaten this game hundreds of times and I'd do anything to attempt it for the first time again. This game is beautiful in it's own way, everyone starts it with a bit of rage, but as time goes on and you complete it over and over, the anger fades into peace. The voiceover contrasting the gameplay was also perfect, every now and then I like to slow down my runs just so the dialouge has time to finish, pretend like its my first run. This game also really shows that practice will always lead to improvement. My first run took 10-15 hours (dont remember exactly) and now i can consistently beat it in under 5 minutes. Overall, this is def worth your money and to those of you who also pirated the game I suggest buying it when you can afford to do so. Thank you Bennett Foddy for bringing a masterpiece into this world.[
GETTING OVER IT
Time - 24 hours
Review - 6.9/10 Getting Over it is a very difficult and rage inducing game. You are a man in a pot and must climb to the top of the mountain, and falling will often make you have to restart or lose significant progress. When you first start, it takes a while to learn the ropes and techniques, but once you beat it once it becomes significantly easier. For example, it took me 8.5 hours to beat it the first time and 15.5 hours to beat it another 49 times. Anyway, this was a fun game with nice music and commentary from Bennet Foddy himself, but got really annoying after a while and very repetitive. If I had only beat it once the rating would definitely be much higher. 10/4/24
Difficulty - 8/10. There are only 3 achievements in this game, and all basically sum into one which is to beat the game 50 times. As I mentioned earlier, the first playthrough will take very long, if you can get through that without quitting, half of the difficulty is relieved. After hardly getting anywhere for hours, I stopped playing the game for about 5 months until I decided to try it again and ended up beating it that week. Once I beat it, I went on a streak the next few days, climbing more and more wins, but then quit again for multiple months. From there on out, it was a cycle of quitting, getting 10 wins in a random week a few months later, and then quitting again. Finally, roughly 14 months after I had first played the game, I decided to grind the last 14 wins during 3 days of spring break. It feels so good to finally have beaten the game, and will most likely NEVER play again. This might have not been the most time consuming 100% I've gotten, but it was definitely the hardest yet for the annoying repetitiveness. In the end, the difficulty really depends on how committed and interested you are in the game. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you don't plan on obtaining all achievements.
Haven't quite raged yet, but am getting there...
This is going to be a nightmare to get 100% achievement completion on x)
this game fucking sucks nver buy it or you wont be the same DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
i like how at first its challenging, but once you play it enough, you can really see how fun it actually is.
This game took me around 20-50 hours to beat for the first time (I honestly have no clue of the exact amount, but it’s somewhere in that range). I bought it in 2020, tried it for a while, got to Orange Hell, fell, and then put it down. I picked it up again maybe a couple of months later, reset my save, did the exact same thing, and then put it down again. After repeating this cycle several more times, maybe about a year after getting the game, I finally made it to the snowy area—and that became my new stuck point.
I continued this cycle for a couple of years, picking it up, resetting my old save, playing for a bit, putting it back down, and repeating this ad nauseam. After a while, I actually got pretty damn good at the game, able to reach Orange Hell in about four minutes from the start, but I never committed hard enough to actually beat it.
In April 2024, more than four years after I’d originally purchased the game, I realized how good I had gotten from the frankly ridiculous amount of hours and resets I’d put into it, and I decided I would finally beat it. After four years of playing without finishing, I reset it one more time, this time determined to finish—and I did, in about an afternoon. After countless hours, resets, and more than four years of my life, I beat it, and it was really easy.
About a week passed without me touching it, but then I booted it up again and ran through it in about 30 minutes. Since then, I’ve picked it up on and off, seeing how quickly I could finish. At this point, I think I’ve completed it maybe 30 times, with my fastest run being around 9 and a half minutes. Something that had previously taken me countless hours to do, I had just completed in under 10 minutes.
"Getting Over It" is important to me. Why it’s important, I have no idea. I’m not really sure what I feel when I think about the game, but I know it carries an air of importance for me.
I rage quit this game after an hour when I lost all my progress... 10/10 game would recommend because bennett foddy has a nice voice
This game is not that hard as you think, you just need to get used to "strange" movement. I've beaten the game 3 times and you know what? I enjoyed.
Very fun, but also very annoying. Playing it when you have beaten it already makes you realize how much practice makes perfect because the runs go from 5 hours to 40 minutes then eventually, to five minutes. This game is worth it
This is the worst game I've ever played, I hate every second of it and yet I can't stop playing it
-played game
-beat it 26 times slowly (13m PB)....
-try speedrun
-get to bucket in under 2m
-accidentally ride on snake
-try to speed through again, maybe i can beat my PB?
-ride snake 3 more times
-sigh
-quit
-write review
this game is fun!! buy it.
Very satisfying game to play. It starts hard and feels unfair but once you get the hang of it you realise that you were just bad at it
