Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy - это карательная игра в скалолазание, дань уважения классическому «Sexy Hiking» 2002 года в стиле Jazzuo.

Easiest game ever, actually a breeze through. Didn't even spend much time on the game to beat it.
Despite its reputation, Getting Over It is a fair and balanced game. Every fall I've taken is easily blamed on my own inability to work the deliberately-unwieldy controls, rather than the game itself. In a way, Getting Over It is less of a game and more of an object lesson on anger itself. The controls are so janky that anything less than 100% controlled and deliberate action will be harshly punished. The angrier you let yourself get, the less control you have over yourself. And that feeds more anger. Beating this game requires you to master your own emotions, not just beat your head against the wall until it gives.
It is, I believe, the perfect rage game. One that KNOWS it's rage-inducing, has something interesting to say about the experience of playing it, and is designed such that overcoming one's own negative emotions is the win condition. If you've got some time on your hands, consider giving this a try.
One of my favorite games of all time! It sparked my enjoyment for rage games and very few come close to the quality of this one.
Very rewarding game
The first time you play this game you will hate it, but when you complete it the feeling is amazing knowing that you have beat the most famous rage game. After the first game everything feels so much less important and so much easier, you get to earn the great parts of the game after completing it which makes it super rewarding. I was able to get a sub 25 minute run around the 3rd time I played it. The sound effects of this game are also really nice.
A wild experience. This is a game like throwing your head at a brick wall. The controls in this game are so different than any other game, but when you end up mastering them, they become satisfying and open up all sorts of strategic possibilities. Not for the faint of heart, this is an unforgiving game, where when you fail, the only person you cam blame is yourself. However, when you finally conquer the game, the feeling is magical. If you love a challenge, this game will break you and build you up again. 4/5
The ultimate test of perseverance and mental fortitude. There are no AI controlled enemies or RNG to blame. All suffering is self inflicted. Own your mistakes and improve. The ability to not get tilted is the most valuable asset you can possess. According to steam achievements, only 9.1% of players have cleared the game at the time of this review. You can be next.
so far I've beaten the game three times, the first time took a few hours and the second time about 1 hour. and the third about 40 mins. Climbing to the top of this mountain was one of the greatest feelings ever.
Very fun. I see YouTubers playing this and getting mad, but I really don't get why, it's difficult, but i don't get why people rage at it. 10/10 game
I feel like I missed part of the experience in playing this since I somehow managed to get to the top in less than 2 hours and only had two falls that sent me back to the start, neither of which were that bad since I had barely made any progress. When I reached the top there was this large sense of "Wow! Look how far you've come! I'm so proud of you!" and "Sorry for making you do this, I know it was a struggle" but, it wasn't. Sure it took a while but i figured it out pretty easily. All I had to do was take it slowly.
Regardless, I'd highly recommend this game. Whether or not you're someone who struggles with frustration in video games, there's an experience to be had here. Learning to deal with frustration and failure is a very important skill to learn and there's a lesson here even if you don't finish the game.
very relaxing, play when bored, very fun and interesting
once you get the hang of the controls this is basically a desktop toy you can just open and mess with for a little bit whenever you feel like, and i love that about it
This game is the most rewarding game I have ever played. 12 hours of emotional rollercoaster showing me what it is about wanting to achieve something in life. After almost 50 hours of play, this game is just a break from work.
Actually a lovely game. As long as you don't get mad and laugh at falling it is genuinely very soothing. It's philosophy is nice, i like it, try it out!
After having beat this game 50+ times, I can confidently say that it was a total waste of time. Highly recommend, made me feel like punching a hole in my monitor 👍.
My first run took 2 hours of playtime, 3 days of playing. After my first run my second was 40 minutes. my 3rd and every other has been under 20 minutes avg. I do not get upset by this game and beat it when im bored. I really enjoy the satisfaction of climbing the tower at the end. The only annoying part about this game is the music they play when you fall. GG's, we'll talk at the top, little champs.
It's a good stress reliever, especially when the piano kicks in and you start working your way up the hill. Overall I find this game a calm and relaxing experience. Unlike most people, when I fall is when I stop. Sure, I'm disappointed, but at least I know I can get back up there. Take your time, don't rush and definitely don't get angry. The angrier you get, the harder it becomes. Good luck.
I really enjoy these kind of hard climbing games but this one really hurts me physically, not sarcastically it really hurts my arm to play it on mouse and the controller controls just feel too annoying to play so I am unable to really finish it, that said, I really enjoyed the experience, just can't recommend if your someone who hurts easily from strenuous movement.
Love the vibe, the design and it introduced me to some new old timey classics.
This game was a great, calm spin on classics.. at first.. you see, the first 30 seconds, I thought "This isn't bad at all, I just need to learn the controls and get used to it" but then, after a bit more playing.. I couldn't help but think "WHAT URGED ME TO PURCHASE THIS!? I DON'T HAVE THE MENTAL CAPACITY FOR THIS!" and then, rage quitted, and lord almighty, BENNETT FODDY, YOU'RE COMMENTS ARE NOT HELPFUL IN THE SLIGHTEST, I TURNED HIM OFF, BUT THEN THE SILENCE JUST MADE ME MORE UPSET.. Anyways, great game, would recommend, best purchase of my life
its the most frustrating game you'll ever play and will test your patience to the limit. It's perfect
legitimately really fun, provides a fun challenge with a mechanic you dont have in practically any other game (at least that im aware of)
If this game appeals to you, buy it. You will be frustrated, but probably enjoy it if you persevere. If it does not appeal to you, I don't think you will gain much for your perseverance. I really enjoyed it, and spent my time with it as a sort of zen practice. I also enjoyed the light philosophy drizzled into the game. It took me years of leaving it, and coming back to it before finally completing. Annoyingly the ending bugged out on me, maybe due to playing on a steam deck?
i really have mixed opinions and questions i have to answer myself:
-is it annoying? yea,sometimes
-is it good? i dont have a direct answer to
-is it bad? idk etc
i really like the game, but i get annoyed by it all the time
i dont advise it to easily annoyed people, but to people who like a challenge, play all you want
everything has mixed opinions
every game has one bad opinion
but write all you guys want
but ill my own
guiding people to play/not play this game
but the hell do people think
they have their characteristics
i dont care
but
i
like
this
game
this game changed my view on life and i still cant accept the fact that i went through this torture 50 times already although its a great game i would recommend with 2 hands its a lifechanging experience
While this game is nice and innovative, but This game is too hard!!
I can't see myself completing this game... especially not 50 times (for the golden pot)!!! even more, I wouldn't do it 13 times more after that...
i hate hatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehate this ggame it gave me ligma nad becauser of this game i smasherd a hole theuyg my wall and it causerd a earhtquake and killed over 100000000 people
Painful and traumatic . deliciously torturous and somewhat irrtatingly therapeutic. most favourite rage game . highly recommended , finishing this game is the most self-achieving experience you will ever have . Thank you Benett Foddy.
Great game, but it makes me want to kill myself a little too much to put too much time into it.
i did get to the end after so much effort but the moment i got to the space credits i tried to turn up the volume to better hear and enjoy the credits and special version of 'going down the road feeling bad" and accidentally skipped the whole credits sequence and song, it feels like my moment of triumph and happiness was robbed from me, i look in the title menu and its a completely seperate credits and song, theres no way to fix my terrible mistake. despite being "steam deck verified" theres no way to set the fps above 60, additionally i couldn't "email bennet foddy' or add my own message or choose any of those options after i accidentally skipped credits sequence. i played the whole thing on gamepad using joysticks to move understandably much harder, what i pressed which skipped credits was the only thing i could press to open the volume control panel, i thought i would feel great after conquering this game but im really hurt and upset and have a bad taste in my mouth please for the love of god bennet fix it please. i despise myself i feel like
i failed the universe.
Great game if you've had a long day and need to wind down.
Haven't been this calm since the Vietnam war!
10/10
This game is the definition of torture. It strikes you down with the worst way imaginable. Despite all that, through the suffering of the player this game proves that it has a hidden purpose. To express a person's view of the world and the internet in general. The game itself the map, the character, the atmosphere, everything, is used to its fullest to express the developer's opinion about a topic that affects our lives everyday. And it does that the best way possible. Through anger it awards you. Not with loot. Not with progress. But by making you realize that you were focusing on the wrong thing the entire playthrough. Beating the game, instead of understanding what the developer tries to express through it. Masterpiece. Still hate it though. In a good way.
this is the most buggy game ever and its so laggy even if you have an nasa pc

This is the hardest game I have ever played in my life and I've recently started the first Dark Souls game. I was so frustrated that I had to take the game's advice and take frequent breaks from this (hence my low time played at the time of this review). Still, I plan to beat this at least once.
I really struggle with failure and tend to give up easily if I can't see any visible progress or impact in what I do. You WILL lose progress in this game FREQUENTLY. Still, I find that I enjoy this game. The absurd scenario and the calming music that pops up with the commentary iron out the pangs of frustration I feel every time I slip back. I'm really glad this quirky game with crappy controls exists. I'll update if/when I beat it.
its very hard but once you get over it its totally worth all the pain and suffering
I got over it, 50 times now, The game is very hard but fair, any mistake is your fault almost every time,
this game has no meaning. it tortures the player until the end only for them to beat it and they get nothing. absolutely nothing. but i do find it nice he put it on sale for black Friday
Chill relaxing game with simple and intuitive controls. Some philosophical narration as you progress.
Once you get the hang of the physics you can yeet yourself very far.
p.s. a little advice, if you played Portal you might remember the line "thinking with portals", for this game i recommend "thinking with gestures"
Getting over it is a frustrating but fun game, it is pretty cheap for the games that exist today so i can not complain! The game itself varies on difficulty from person to person. It honestly really depends on how much patience you have.
*Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy* is a unique experience that challenges both your patience and perseverance. The game’s simple premise—climbing a mountain with a hammer—becomes a test of frustration and resilience. While the difficulty is intentionally brutal, it serves a deeper purpose: teaching players to stay calm and composed in the face of failure. Each setback is an opportunity to reflect and approach challenges with a clearer mindset.
Though incredibly frustrating, it ultimately helps you embrace patience and maintain composure, making it a surprisingly meditative experience despite its rage-inducing gameplay.
**Rating: 8/10**
A frustrating yet oddly calming journey that teaches resilience and patience.
Believe me No need to play this game You will feel happy if you don't play And if you play Short definitely you gonna broke your computer or Mouse
The game is hard and makes you rage. When you play it you will probably play it 30 minutes at a time then you will rage. Its a good game you just rage a lot.
good game but reminds me of hit splatoon 3 DLC level Cruel_Sisyphean_Eight-Shaped.Floor
its a very difficult game and i wanted to put a hole through my monitor at times especialy when i got told "thats a lot of pregress lost must of felt like a punch in the gut" or something along those lines but it was a 10/10 game will play agin
and ignore the 3 spelling mistakes at the time of this review its 3 in the morning and i just finished the game for the first time only took me two hours over multiple new games because i raged mutlple times and then started a new one for better luck (it didnt work)
this game makes yourr toes curl in a bad way, it makes your sweat stink! it makes you MAD! however! hats off to Mr.Foddy for making millions of dollars off of what is essentially just a massive shitpost (one that took a great deal of effort to make!) FODDY/10
This is an awesome game, I have played it over 50 times, play it NOW, its like learning how to ride a bike.
Stinky shit, like if your brother asked you to change their baby's diaper, but if the diaper was primed to burst with shit the moment you even touched it.
hey if you like getting so mad at a game that you need to break something, then this game is for you!
but fr its a good game and stuff
5 stars
Finally after 10 hours I beat the game, a good journey I had with plenty of resets, learning after each run and the Jazz PTSD I now have, through shakey hands and Bennet Fody talking in my ear, a pretty good journey and experience I had to be at the top! Truly a good game to play and the ending does feel very worth it in the end.
I started playing: got past the first parts fairly easily, get to the first challenge, actually having fun playing.
after:tried so hard, ended up giving up "ill finish this later."
Later: I haven't played in a while, get past the first parts easily, get to the same roadblock, quit the game after trying for hours.
Now: I just found out that I still had this game, got the the same area and gave up. This keeps happening.
