Star Singularity is a space-faring action-adventure game, combining skillful combat with strategic resource gathering and a procedurally generated galaxy to roam.
From the beginning of your journey, you will be thrown into the midst of a multi-faction conflict with some dark forces pulling the strings. Starting with a single spaceship and a humble base of operations, you will gradually progress through multiple galaxy sectors and eventually shape the outcome of the conflict. Wherever you choose to go and whichever side you choose to ally yourself with - the galaxy is yours to explore.
Space Combat
Space combat in Start Singularity is fierce and brutal, paying homage to classic space shooters - but with the sophistication of a modern physics engine and cutting-edge AI. To prevail you will have to become a skillful pilot and tactician, and craft a ship that can overcome (or evade) any foe.Outside the main adventure mode, you will be able to test your mettle against AI opponents in multiple game modes ranging from tense 1-on-1 skirmishes to full-fledged armada VS armada combat.
Ship Design
Spaceships in Star Singularity are the sum of their parts. Different spaceships have different layouts and initial stats, but any spaceship design can be vastly overhauled and modified using components that you will acquire throughout the game: by crafting and trading, completing missions, or looting debris from fallen opponents.Swap your shields with stealth modules to trade protection for the element of surprise, replace that gun turret with a directional engine for improved maneuverability, and pair unique items for overpowered combinations that even we didn't think of.
Exploration
The galaxy in Star Singularity is procedurally generated with some degree of randomness between playthroughs to give you a fresh challenge each time you play. While the main storyline will send you through predetermined locations, you are free to roam the galaxy and jump from one node to another in any order you like, and the various factions will change their attitude towards you based on your actions. This cosmic-sized adventure offers unique star systems to explore, full of unique encounters.Поддерживаемые языки: english

This is exactly the kind of game I was hoping for! I was unable to play it for a long time because of health issues making it hard to use mouse and keyboard. The newly fixed controller support is great! I hope they add a setting to adjust cursor speed and auto-target shops. Then it would be perfect. Very much looking forward to more.
PROS
-great concept and its crafting system is easy to use and pretty rewarding
-unlock most ships through Blue prints (fighting/trading/scavenging)
-lots of ships various sizes (weapon slots/shields/utilitys)
-Decent sized galaxy map
CONS
-Ships are are pretty much the same other then having more or less (Hitpoints/ weapon slots and sheilds)
-Basic fleet commands I.E No mine/Escort commands fleet ships follow you in a single file line until theres combat/asteroids in there way
-Collision system in the game allows fleet ships to shoot things in there way (Which is anything including Ai Faction bases/ships)
-combat is VERY fast paced (and Im a BIG FPS player)
Suggestions
-Ships having roles/base stat differences based off there factions/size/role not just HP and slots
-Having to unlock your fleet Hangar space as well as upgrade each slot to accommodate Larger ships (Maybe even a mass Limit per slot which you upgrade with resources/Credits)
-Slower combat speed or the ability to slow down time in fights(very arcade like fighting)
-game feels very easy and theres not much of a plenty for dying or losing fleet ships you drop your inventory and thats it not repair fee or loss of equipment installed
all n all i had a good time playing Star Singularity but Respectfully the game feels like theres alot that can be done to fill in the simplicity of the in game systems . i Bought this game to try to find some thing similar to Star Valor although they are similar this game feels to streamlined and not enough depth to it (YET) (also my opinions)
havent been sucked into a game quite like this one in a while. absolutely worth $15 but its currently on sale for $4.50 at the time of this review. if you're a fan of these kinds of top down 2d space games then this is a no brainer.
also the soundtrack slaps
Found this gem in the Independent Space Alliance bundle. A lot of fun to play.
A variation on a classic shootem up, Star Singularity features the ability to control multiple ships in your fleet that you can upgrade by buying them, collecting resources and crafting them, or winning them as rewards from fights and quests across a vast number of systems.
It has excellent visuals for this genre, great music and sound effects, and everything controls very smoothly. UI is fairly simple with some inventory management and menus for various interactions and crafting.
Combat is fast paced and a lot of fun. There's a ton of upgrades, weapons, and ship parts to play around with different combinations that make every fight a little different.
A really excellent find and a refreshing take on an old genre. While many things still need to be fleshed out to fill out the large expanse you get to explore, I think the fun I'm having now and the potential the game has to improve during its development are well worth the buy.
Star Singularity is a twin stick shooter space combat with adventure and ship customization. While it did start with a bang, the hard narrative scripting didn't lock out controls properly and I basically broke the game within a few minutes of playing it. I can see there's some interesting effort done by the devs... but it's a bit behind the times.
In Star Singularity, you basically control one ship, but you are also in command of other ships, and can fast swap among them as you are an AI. Each ship belongs to a "size class". Your initial ship is "small", whereas the mothership you encounter is considered "large". Different ships have different amount of engine slots, weapons slots, and utility slots, and different ways to mount them.
For example, your starter ship is "spherical" (more of a diamond shape) as it has 4 engines all around and thus can move in any direction, and the weapons are turreted, so it can shoot at any direction as well. You also have other weapons, and you can bind them to separate triggers and buttons if you wish.
All the items are upgradeable, if you find the blueprint for the upgraded item, so you can craft them with your crafting station, and you have the prerequisite materials. The "base" items can be crafted with no material, so you will always have a craft with the most basic components, and the mothership can automatically rebuild them as needed should you be destroyed.
To get building material, go shoot some asteroids and you can get the minerals that it spat out, but having the item vacuum will help you pull them in. Other asteroids would require a mining laser. And you can always sell the excess, if you find a merchant. But you will probably need the material to make more advanced stuff.
You will encounter allies and enemies, as you discover who you were (you arrived in current part of space having suffered massive damage including your memory banks). I just helped out a Mercenary, who agreed to join my side after I wiped out the pirate that killed his crew. And the mothership called for help. The mothership itself is actually quite heavily armed with plenty of blasters, but it can always use a bit of upgrade.
Keep in mind that combat is NOT easy, and if you want to test yourself, look for a system with an "arena" where you can pit yourself against 1, 2, or even 3 opponents at once. The Arena combat is tough. Outside of that... is not that hard... pick a weapon with a large range, like the shotgun, maybe even the missile.
Anyway, won't spoil the story. Handholding is pretty nice, as you're told where to go, and make your way across the worlds one jump at a time. Have fun.
Well, so fare this game is fun .. it have harvesting , fighting, crafting, skill system..
Unlocks on blueprint ect and step by step developing of you character and ship and equipment..
the ship move sweet, so there is room for good ship on ship or ship on spacestation fights where you do not need to be overpowered if you just have some smooth skills :)
Only thing is its not 4K friendly yet, but developer told me on a community message that within 1 week there will be GUI scaling:)
Latest update broke the game but did make it faster. I'm sure it will be good later but I started a new game and hit 2 game breaking bugs in under an hour. Not worth playing currently but hopefully soon.
Fiddled around for a bit.
Mostly waiting to see how the main story line will develop.
The controls were pretty intuitive like Starcom Nexus. Been on a kick finding games like that. So this was right up my alleyway. The opening did have a good mystery hook. Even advanced AI's can be tricked to do the bidding of unsavory types. I like that you can have a small fleet of friends to fly around with you.
Hopefully there will be a decent amount of side missions as well as main missions. Maybe quests that occur in certain systems? Like mini side arcs. Ill probably leave more feedback when I mess around with more stuff. It has a solid foundation to springboard off of.
I wish there was a "neutral" option for Steam because Star Singularity is okay, I guess, but I can't recommend until it's out of Early Access.
Top-down mining/combat sim where you move from system to system, fighting enemies and advancing down progression tracks. Space Pirates and Zombies except it's not finished.
Specific feedback I have for the developer is:
- I like: crafting and combat seem interesting enough, systems-driven which i like, and the tutorial is adequate
- I dislike/friction: there isn't much reason for me to play, the introduction of features like story/codex that are immediately revealed as unfinished is not appealing, need a hook to invest into, something to differentiate this from other entries in the same genre
good game. got it since it was on sale, and got addicted fast. so far only found one bug, and even the dev didnt know about it. when i made a post, the dev responded in 2 minutes and asked for my save to fix the error.
rare to see devs responding that quick, and they get my approval
I cannot recommend this game. You have to get used to the steering, but after that it gets worse. The missions are hard to follow and not very rewarding. The difficulty is all over the place, you loose everything after dying etc. This game is just not fun. It is harsh, unforgiving, without good reason and even the combat is a joyless grind.
It is like handling a piece of glass, it looks shiny but it cuts your hands anytime you pick it up.
After a short while you throw it away. And that is essentially the game (without the shiny part).
I was really uncertain about this, and somehow I managed to completely mash buttons to mangle my way through the tutorial, resulting in almost completely misunderstanding the basic mechanics of the game. I persevered though, and after an hour or so I think I understood enough that I was enjoying what I was doing, even if I wasn't sure exactly what that was, or if it had any of the effects I thought it might.
I enjoyed the roguelike aspects very much, the campaign links I pursued so far were simple but enjoyable, and I really wanted to find something I could pick up for an hour at lunch and feel like I'd done something in, even if that was just a couple of upgrades and clearing a sector.
Sorry to not have any analysis, but for what it's worth, I've been having fun with it!
Updated Update!
In my randomly poking around at old games, this one caught my eye again and I gave it another go.
All of the old problems I had have been fixed.
No crashes anymore, items don't despawn on death, recruited units are actually really useful and can be ordered to defend your base, follow you, or even attack a target.
I went in on 'easy mode' this time after problems previously, and eventually died when I got careless, so my inventory dropped: And I managed to pick it back up easily this time, a problem it had previously for anyone who read my old review.
It's come a long way and while on some levels it's a basic game, it's got some charm and is fun. That much matters a lot, and I wish the dev well.
Ended up binging the entire main story and all achievements in a couple days. Would recommend for a nice space shooter that has a lot of feel like the good old days of flash games.
Being a great fan of SPAZ I like the game very much.
The story is quite ok for now.
Mining is much less tedious than in SPAZ + the battle feels even a bit better.
Looking forward to the final release!
I bought this game when it was first released to support the developer and it is decently fun, but a major lack of content. There isn't much communication that I have seen around development and not many changes to the game since release.
If it is ever finished/content added I will give it another try and change my review.
Great game!
Imagine FTL but real time, mixed with Asteroids and Space Invaders!
Very fluid, very fast and very fun. From the first moment of the tutorial the game is packed with action and juicy battles.
The NPC messages are humoristic while sitll coneying the point, easying you into the game systems.
Important:
The game is still in early access and it shows, some of the UI is still not quite exact, visual wise and also it's a little jumpy. But again, for early access it's totally understandable. I don't really care about it, but I guess it wil lbother some players. If you are bothered by this sort of things - early access is not for you. Wait for full release.
Its not bad for EA, lots of potential for growth available.
Biggest problem is that you can quickly reach the end of the content (I can clear it in 30-40 mins) and then its just rinse lather repeat without any real gains
You might want to check out Star Valor as well... Very similar (but cheaper currently its 8) has more content too.
So after playing this game for some /h
Short answer i strongly recommend this game buy it and have fun
The long one :)
It´s a mix of different core mechanics i like in a game Mining/Crafting/Exploration and so on
And as you progress in the game the difficulty will increase
Tutorial
While it still needs some tweaks here and there it's good
The short "story" start it gives you a hint of what the story might be so i'm looking forward to see what the universe "Dev´s" brings
Crafting system
Who dont like to craft items?
The crafting is sorted into different groups to make it easier to find what you want
And there are new items from time to time
Weapon system
The combination you can do with the weapons is really fun
Stand still and deploy a mine it will stand there but have a bit of momentum and do the same and add the grav gun now you have "homing mines" and there is more weapons you can play around whit
Mining system
There are a lot of different materials you can farm and use to caraft shields/weapons/ect
The mining in itself is rather fun it can be some what deadly even for the enemies it's a fun way to get lots of ore and killing some followers at the same time
Dev´s
They are dedicated to the game working new content and bug fixing
and they listen to the community
Extra
Close to no load time on the game just start and go it's great for when you don't have that much time on your hands but still want to play something :)
Altough it's completely not in my genre of games, it looks like a great entry with tons of options and hours of fighting.
I prefer the Mouse Aim option, as it gives me better control of my ship.
The devs seem to regularly update this game, so I'm looking forward to see what it will shape to be.
The narrative need much more work to my personal taste.
Pros: You fly around space, blasting hostiles and mining asteroids (by blasting them...) so you can craft better weapons and other gadgets to your ship. You can build additional ships and customize them as you wish and either have the AI control them or jump into any of them and take the fight from there. I love tweaking and crafting and spend about third of the time doing that, the rest is travelling and shooting stuff dead.
Cons: the crafting/inventory is not very intuitive and takes some time to figure out.
It's like SPAZ but you are not limited to one weapon line.
This game is fun!!!
It still needs some balancing.
after playing for a couple of hours I noticed some very interesting things about this game.
It's fun to play, I'm a big fan of crafting and spaceships and this game has both!
ever wanted to blow up the sun? here you can!
The game is still in early acces and has some features which need repair, but I think this has a huge potential and i definitely recommend this!
