Gulman 5
very fun game, and has some gameplay features mechanics that some games don't have, like reloading a full mag to get +1 or interrupting a reload to shoot.

Gulman 5 is a great game if you're just looking for a fun game. The game is laughably bad but it makes the game great. It is a good game if you are looking for something different to play than the standard AAA shooters. I don't regret the time I spent playing it and I definitely recommend it.
If this came out 20 years ago it would be remembered as a FPS classic, today it's.. playable and at least not a total asset flip
What is there to say about to this game that doesn't feel like an slight to it? The English vernacular has not reached a point where words are vivid enough to encapsulate the feel of the game.
Pros:
- The map is sizable and offers the players a more than 8 different locations for Gulman to explore. Big enough to feel big, but not so vast that it feels sparse. The world of Gulman 5 is very much alive.
- It is extremely open ended. The player is free to do the objectives in any order they wish.
- Enemies are difficult in groups, but aren't too bad on their own. This makes for dynamic fights as you try to pry one or two away from the pack. The game's next gen pathfinding makes this difficult, though.
- The environments switch up constantly. You can tell some areas use the same assets, but it doesn't hamper the experience.
- The sounds of Gulman speaking Russian??? when he kills an enemy fills your whole fucking eardrums. Luckily, the game lacks a volume slider. This helps simulate the sounds of war in the hellscape realm in which Gulman dwells.
- A varied arsenal makes it so the player never gets bored of the gunplay. Some weapons are better for close quarters areas, while others are necessary for long range engagements. Bring a sniper, not a wedding ring. (That right there is a "joke")
- The twist at end? You won't expect it.

I cannot stress this enough. This is a BUY NOW TITLE! PLay it in one sitting to get the premier Gulman experience. This shit is primo, baby. Gulman only has the best. He only smokes real Cubans. If Gulman the game series was a line of exotic cars, it would be Ferraris. This game is the '96 Bulls of the gaming world. You don't want to miss out, because when it is gone, it is gone. When Steam runs out of copies, you cannot get Gulman 5 anymore. That's all they have. They don't have anymore copies of Gulman 5. I erased them. I snuck into Valve and removed all the copies. There are 5 left. Bish.

The Artificial Intelligience is immensly smart, able to put up a fight against any player while their amazing voice acting will make you think its a real combat scenario. The intense fights should remind you of classic shooters such as Masked forces, Arma and Doom. The amazing graphics look like photos rather than a simple "video game" like the competitors.
I have to say that gulman is the last word in first person shooters.

Well, thats six bucks well spent.
The game is poorly designed and has graphics from 2008.
First of all - lots of backtracking. I mean, nessesity of going back and forth between the goddamn boat and main playable area is explained as 'Guldman cannot carry more than four artifacts at any given time', but you are not informed how many artifacts you are carrying, there is no GUI indicator of that value. You have to keep in mind that number. That led me to the weird situation where I found another artifact, but was unable to pick it up. I was forced to go all the way back to my little boat, unload artifacts and return to pick that one artifact I left behind.
Visual design is not poor, it is non-existant. All the buildings has the same somewhat-like-sandstone colour and they are almost indistinguishable between themselves both by visual design and by gameplay layout. Seriously, there are just so many buildings that look a like...
'Ancient temples' are just boxes with lava and spiders, by the way.
In the matters of technical stuff the game is surprisingly mediocre. It is well-optimizied. But again, with a decent technology like that, developers could came out with something more appealing.
Overall this game is a good example of non-existant design. Everything is designed extremely poorly - level design, weapons design, plot, enemies (you encounter a tank which can be brought down by Guldman's fists), etc, etc. This game feels like it was just a set of pitches written by game designer without any conceptual worktrough.
Would not recommend.
P.S. Once Russians made Stalker, now this. Truly, end of times.
