TL;DR: Fell-off.

When I first bought this game with my cash, I bought it for fun. Now this game is just filled with Free-To-Play bastards that are annoying, stupid, and just make me not want to play this game anymore. This game has been completely ruined for me, Can't believe I bought my friends this when it was in its prime. Now its on its downfall. Don't recomend.

Best competitive VR shooter on the market. Realistic, fun, lots of map and mode variety, and great graphics!

A Game i Guess.

Game was fun when it was only on pc, then came to quest stand alone. Now devs are greedy for money, they dont care about any exclusivity and overall they focus more on the money free to play side then they do on the actual core

Ive played vail for quite some time now and i bought the game just for 7.99, its grown on me ive played vail wayyy before the prestiges were a thing i stopped playing a few months ago then started then stopped but now im right back this game is so fun love u vail thanks for making such an enjoyble game- Ar1ix

I dropped vail for some time due to PC issues (RAM was crapping out on me) but now that I'm back it's better than ever. New social hub, new market, improved gameplay, just overall an awesome game. These devs just keep delivering

Probably the best shooter game vr has to offer, graphics and mechanics are great. Devs are also a strongpoint, theya re transparent and helpful with support, giving great constant updates to make the game better. Cant really say much more, you get to try it for free anyway, the online is worth it to me. Very fun.

VAIL is a solid FPS shooter that feels good to play. It's rather polished and has a good community.
I've been following VAIL nearly since inception, and have a lot of fun with it!.

However, there are a few Downsides, which I regret to inform, prompt this negative review.
The netcode is ASS. Netcode was one of the major talking points for the devs. So it's absolutely ridiculous to constantly die behind walls, die before peaking and all this happens even when the ping is below 100ms. Don't even get me started on what happens when we go above 100ms. You have constant trading where you both die, and watching people kill you multiple seconds after being behind cover, already reloading your gun. PLEASE FIX!

And PLEASE, don't EVEN get me STARTED. on the SNIPER RIFLE. I'm what you'd consider rather "a tryhard" with a rifle. I love sniping.

But in this game, even though you've got quick hands and know how to play. You will STILL grab the fucking magazine and proceed to drop it out of the sniper rifle, instead of reloading the sniper. Furthermore, once you whip out a new mag, put it back in the sniper rifle, and reload. You'll find it didn't quite lock into position, prompting you to do so again.

FIX THE SNIPER. I am sick and tired of it literally just being a worse 1 shot assault rifle, when ARs practically do the same damage, the least you could do, is make the sniper usable, rather than being clunky and rage inducing.

And as a last note, most of the gun reloads are solid, but lack a lot of interpolated animations. What do I mean by this?
When your mag snaps to the gun once held close enough, in Pavlov the magazine will smoothly animate from the actual position, to the placement in the gun. Wheras in vail, it will simply instantly snap to the gun. This causes the guns to just feel that little bit more cheap.


Once these things are fixed, or improved. I am very happy to revert my review to a solid positive review.

I want to like this game I really do. It has some of the best feeling gun play I've every seen but it runs HORRIBLY. I have a 3050 and can run most vr games an around 30-40 fps. But this game kills my pc. Why is there no option to turn down the graphics? Not everyone has a super computer. It's unplayable and I waited to long to try it and now I can't get a refund.
