A Half Life mod that has come a long way. A difficult game but overall quite good.

what can i say? its a simple but fun game. runs incredibly well on low end pc's like a dell laptop.

modding is easy and combat is strategic.

Better than the current game. Made before Esports, gambling and loot boxes ruined online games. Community driven and supported, played by people who simply love the game. Worth it.

A fine addition to the Counter-Strike brand. CSS is really fun and still has a really strong community.

The people are so amazing on here. All very lovely, its good to play a multiplayer game with people who have some sort of soul.

Really like it theres still competitive to it but not as much as CS2 if you want a break to just chill and have fun then this is the game for you. I can literally always find a server not to mention the fact that there is sometimes 20k players on although its usually 10k but if you want this game you should buy CS 1.6 to because it comes in a pack overall this game is really fun and I would recomend it to anyone.

i would 10/10 recommend this game. it takes a while getting used to but once you do it is super entertaining and fun

Best game i ever played made me love Counter strike but now its counter strike 2 and its very dog poo

in my opinion this is the best version of counter-strike. the old mechanics just feel right even after playing CS2

This is a fun, fast-paced game with a nice variety of weapons to choose from. I also like types of players who play this game. Its' like a community ... uh, er ... well, who kill each other. But, I also like playing on, and working in a team environment.

The game is basically just the community servers, which are the old versions of the csgo maps basically. Pretty lit but most of the community are bots atm

I like this game, the graphics is so good even tho i set it on lowest settings. The recoil of the weapon is logic, the movement is great. Good game! 9.6/10

I remember the first time I played Counter-Strike: Source.
It was late 2004.
I was ten years old — old enough to understand winning and losing, but still too young to grasp how deeply a world could leave fingerprints on your soul.
That day, my older brother installed it on the family computer.
A bulky beige tower, fans roaring like an old car.
But it wasn’t just another game.
It was a new frontier.

Source loaded up, and I saw it:
Maps I thought I knew — Dust2, Office, Italy — but alive in a way they had never been before.
Textures sharper. Movements smoother. Guns heavier in sound and feel.
I wasn’t just playing.
I was stepping through the looking glass.

And then came the late nights.
Tense bomb plants.
Sprinting through hallways as bullets whistled past.
Getting yelled at by strangers over scratchy microphones.
Learning to quick-switch the AWP because that’s what the "pros" did.
No tutorials. No hand-holding.
Only muscle memory, frustration, and eventually... mastery.

Sometimes my father would pass by,
shaking his head at how seriously we took a game about rescuing hostages and planting bombs.
He didn’t understand the adrenaline.
But he smiled anyway — happy that we had found something that made us feel alive, even if it was just inside a screen.

Now it’s been twenty years.
Gaming has changed.
I have changed.
Servers that once buzzed with life are quiet.
Friends have grown up, moved on, logged off for good.

But when I boot up Counter-Strike: Source, something ancient stirs.
The servers might be empty, but the memories rush back like floodwater.
The distinct clack of boots on tile floors.
The puff of dust when a grenade lands wrong.
The impossible rage and laughter of youth, echoing through the empty maps.

Counter-Strike: Source isn’t just an upgrade.
It’s a living photograph.
A snapshot of an era when gaming felt wild, competitive, raw — before everything was polished and monetized.

And as I clutch a Deagle once more,
as I peek mid on Dust2 like it’s 2005 again,
I remain there.
Hand steady on the mouse...
And a tear I can’t quite name—
whether it’s sadness, or something closer to home.

with 101 hours on game there is still lots of game play, or you can just mindlessly kill the bots.

Nostalgia is strong with this one. If you can find a bunch of friends willing, you will have good fun.

This game is so fun, has the least amount of sweats I have seen in a shooter game which just makes it more fun for casual players like myself.

I just wish Deathmatch mode was an option instead of just Standard when creating a server.

I only got this game so that I could play on maps that use cs textures but when i actually played the game its not that great maybe it would be more fun if every player wasn't a hacker and if there was more that one server that has people playing that isn't modded but other that that the game is alright but you might as well play cs2 or csgo but its a source game so its pretty easy to make maps for it. I would recommend, but only because of the gmod maps.

Really cool the way this game track stats in Steam, great game and active community.

Good og counter strike. Playing it mainly for surfing, so if you re into that, 100 % recommended. Lower pc requirements allows you to enjoy the gameplay at it fullest!

This is my opinion the best counter-strike of all titles, This only takes like nearly 4 gigs to play and it runs well on older pc's. meanwhile CS:GO is very big. I really do love this counter-Strike. Source games are my favourite. CS:S My beloved.

this game is better than the original, and hyper realistic.

Still the best counterstike game ever (aside from 1.6, but that's pretty much dead, so...)

10/10 game, costs a whole lot of money and the only thing that's changed is that barrels roll

Counter-Strike: Source is a wonderful remaster of the original. It's got this charm that I hope to find in more games again down the line. What's more, the community is very much still alive and well. It's too much fun to come back to this game every once and a while, and I look forward to seeing what comes of the Counter-Strike franchise as CS2 progresses and the years go on. :)

Verry good game but it freezes at random times and i-am force to close the game.
