😬 It’s an Old Game: The graphics are good for their time but don’t expect anything modern.
🤔 Toxic Players: Some servers can have rude people, but you can always find chill ones to join.

Final Thoughts:
Counter-Strike: Source is a classic for a reason. It’s simple, fun, and still a blast to play with friends or solo. If you’re into competitive games or just want something cool to play, you can’t go wrong with this one!

low overhead ,Simple ,Great game fun to play and it still has an active community after all these years, that should tell you everything you need to know./

2025 update, fantastic game even after all these years. But be aware if you are in NA the vast majority of the servers are in Eastern Europe. Don't expect to be playing with other english speakers most of the time.

This game changed my life to say the least. Not only did it make me see the world for what it really was but also introduced me to lots of incredible people whom that I can never forget. Countless hours of fun that I've had on this game as I have been playing it since 2007 when I was only 11 years old and I'm 28 now. So many memories were made here, and it is truly one of Valve's greatest achievements in terms of video gaming. Long live Counter-Strike Source!

Otherwise, full of people still actively playing, although in Europe, most are russian? anyways, no need for any actual description, it's CS 1.6 with fancy graphics, call it a strategy shooter game, or call it a test of skill, you'll get frustrated anyways. Recommended

Ahhhh, good old Counter-Strike: Source.

Even though this game was brutally rushed through it's development and lacks a lot of polish, it still manages to somehow be the best Counter-Strike game of all time.

Everything just feels right, the movement, the shooting, the models and the amazing physics and quirk of life features that are unique to every single map in the game.

Sure some things may look outdated or just plain odd, like the rushed and uneven design of some of the maps, and the weird hostage model that for some reason uses the old beta Half-Life 2 Kleiner model.
But I feel like without those weird little things, the game wouldn't feel as interesting, lack an atmosphere and just feel soulless.

Also we can't forget that this is the most modded counter-strike game, close to 1.6 of course. Allowing for endless customization on everything you wish to change or improve. I recommend GameBanana or Moddb for the mods.

The game does lack the player activity and updates of CS2, but it isn't completely broken or dead and has very die hard communities around every corner. If you are struggling to find servers, I strongly recommend searching for servers through sites like Gametracker and Tsarvar, you'll find plenty of game styles with different types of progression systems and gamemodes.

And if you are finding yourself bored or just can't find anything else to do in the game, the game achievements got you covered. You will find yourself lost in the amount of weird things you can do in this game to get an achievement. Is 147 overkill, yeah, does it look cool when you do get all of the achievements, hell yeah.

Overall I've had a crap ton of fun during my, at the time of commenting, 200 hours of this game and made many cool friends and many unforgettable memories. The game isn't perfect nor a masterpiece, but is in my opinion is the best Counter-Strike game in terms of staying true to its revolutionary gaming formula that started all the way back in '99.

If you want to experience a true Counter-Strike game that doesn't go over the top with it's presentation and competitiveness , this is the game you are looking for.

Don't think, just buy it.

Fond memories. The Overwhelmingly Positive is well deserved for this game seeing how it holds up nowadays. Passionate community, both in the tryhards and sweats to the chillers and casuals, it's worth getting this game and hold it dear to your heart.

This game is very good, It was a little hard at the start of the game, But I Searched some tutorials on how to get good at peeking then shooting and etc, And basically, I got better, and I got addicted to it now. I think I'll never stop playing this game :-)

I only got this game to mount it with gmod, but when I played it I got cussed out by multiple men at the same time because I didnt play the game right 10/10 life changing

This has always been one of the best games... still is, but for different reasons than when it first came out. Tonight I installed the game for 1.99 USD and played with my brother during the clock switching over from 2024 to 2025. We got on Discord voice and had a blast, haven't played this in 12 years or more... I hope servers continue to exist for this.

The best Counter-Strike game ever made. The Bots are crazy smart, lots of achievements, and the Gameplay is really good.

Honestly I do not see any possibility to buy this game since CS2 is free, but you could buy this if your computer is not able to run CS2 and that you can use this for training until you can upgrade for CS2.

I recommend playing this game only if you are invested in Counter Strike games. The reasons for that are:

1. This version play better, without all the CS 1.6 glitches and tricks.
2. The gameplay feels more casual and simpler than that of CS:GO.

Note that this game community is alive and kicking many weird game modes such as Zombie Run, or Zombie Mode or Surf play way better here than any other CS game.

I like the updated graphics and physics, the only thing i dont like are the bots, sometimes they do weird things. And i think there should be an option for them not to use auto-snipers as those are just op.
More maps would be nice too. But all around a great game, no micro transaction chicanery, just start the game and play.

Shooting of some weapons and graphics are better. As a child it was difficult to immerse myself in the game and play, but now I have gotten used to it. I rarely return to the game, but overall it is wonderful

ngl this is the best counter strike game of all. PERFECT, lot of achievements, practice with CPU players. just PERFECT.pretty underrated

Counter Strike with upgraded several aspects. The only minus is extreme bots didn't one-shot kill you anymore easily.

Finally!! I had finished the game achievements. One of the best online games to play with friends. Is it recommend it to play it with random matches? no. If you don't have friends to play it with them, don't buy it. The game full of cheats but the game still gold. However, the game is very good to play and I enjoyed every moment while playing this game. VALVE do great things as always. I hope the will do great things again in the future. Also, css is ok for quick fun, the guns are broken as hell though and the movement feels floaty. csgo is a better option, if you do pick up css warsource is fun and the 30 player tdm and gun games are good as well.

awesome game. a true classic i played all the way back when i was in elementary. hasn't lost its nostalgia whatsoever. Very solid game for any FPS player to enjoy.
