After many years I come back to the game and still have good fun with cool frends.

my brother first showed me this game many years ago and now im a REALLY big fan of cs and the valve franchise itself

CS 1.6 is where it all began.

I have barely played this game, and I will probably not play it again, because of a specific mod.

The graphics are ancient.
The servers mostly abandoned.
The hitboxes feel like ghosts compared to what games are now.

Every dusty corridor, whispering memories from a time when everything felt new and impossible and alive.

And as I buy armor and a defusal kit one more time,

The game IS good, it's just you can't find any servers that aren't professional, empty, or you get kicked from right as you join.

Its really addicting and nostalgic and it is nice buying it after years of pirating it, this game used to be the hype in 2012-2016, there wasnt a single laptop in our house that didnt have it. my older brothers first instinct was always to download counter strike. its even more fun 1v1 your friends.

Even without mods and plugins its way better than I remember. Way less clunkier than todays games, it feels snappy, TIGHT to play this. The atmosphere is something else that haven't been matched in any other game. A mist between arcade and realism.

I don't play this game but the SOUNDS. The Sounds are so good, it is unbelivable.

Everyone played this game, especially at internet cafe's using LAN. Even my old IT teacher let us play CS 1.6 against each other in school.
10/10 (way more enjoyable than CS2)

Still a pretty decent game, however the only thing it really prevails at anymore is its nostalgia factor which keeps me coming back. The funny thing is its probably better than CS2 at this point. Still worth the buy though.

This game is fun mainly because of the mods and the fact that the servers are still alive. At evenings most servers are full too. Good to see a 24 year game still healthy with a consistent player count.

Damit ich 2-3 Lira bekam , danach mich mit meinen Cousins traf, um in die Stadt zu gehen. Wir erzählten unseren Eltern, dass wir in die Stadt gehen, um Eis zu essen, aber in Wirklichkeit gingen wir ins Internetcafé, um für eine Lira Counter Strike auf der Map „cs_mansion" zu spielen.
