Squeakers is a multiplayer, cooperative game. It can provide fun up to four players. You can either decide to work altogether or choose to compete with each other. No matter the way, the goal is to build the tower as fast as you can to escape rising water. And oh! Don’t forget your cement mixer! It gives you bricks essential for your construction.
To make the gameplay trickier, the higher you get the more diversified bricks will get. Some of them simplify your work, another ones can ruin your well-cared for masterpiece.
- look after your building buddy. Try to rescue him whenever he felt into the water. You might need his help to create bigger tower
- you can use either keyboard or game pad
- collect achievements along the way
- you can choose your character from six different types just to differentiate each other during playing
- define your own method of building, experiment and get better and faster. The faster you get, the more points you receive

Steam Gem!
Rarely do you find a good multiplayer game for such a good price.
Squeakers is about building higher and higher as the world floods beneath you, using different blocks with different materials.
As the game progresses new blocks and difficulties arise, so it truly can be played for a long time!
With up to three more friends this got a couch party classic for us immediately!
Squeakers is a 2D retro pixel game with a fairly unusual premise. The world is flooding, and you, as a 2D retro pixel boar (and your friend, local co-op is strongly encouraged here) must use your cement mixers to build blocks and place them on top of each other to stay over the rising flood waters... but it's not as easy as you think because the game physics are terrible and the controls are a bit clunky. With practice you can get the hang of them, but the lack of polish is just the start of the unfortunate drawbacks of this sincere and well intentioned game.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result.
There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics.
The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 6 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
Squeakers is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
very addictive game, hard at first but once you get used to the controls and building rules it becomes super fun!

A delightfully pointless little game. Fun to play, and after you've discovered the Glorious Ending of the Story Mode, the SuddenDeath mode gives some replay value.
I agree: After just a couple of hours into this, you can call yourself a professional structural engineer.
If you like spending long times in an acute state of ''WTF?!'', this game is definitely recommendable. Fun! :)
Very cool game that you use an yellow thing that will throw blocks you can used to go up so you don't die in the water. this is a good game with nice gameplay. I needed money so I returned the game, but it's really cool.

This game is a riot. You will laugh, you will cry, you will curse the rising floodwaters. This is the block-game you never knew you needed. Squeakers is a simple, but beautifully executed game that pits boar against water in a climbing game that will keep you entertained for hours.
The Remote Play Together requires some configuration, but allows for seamless play with you Steam friends, and the Local Co-op is even smoother. Even the solo mode is entertaining.
Buy this game, you won't regret it.
This game is super fun, especially with friends when you play together from start. Worth buying even at full price.

A very wonderful little game for the price. Honestly, a great game to play with friends on a couch! You play as baby boars (Or Squeakers) and you're trying to escape a flooding forest, you throw blocks down to try and get up as fast as possible, and escape the everlasting floods. 10/10!
Not my cup of tea, but a GEM of a game!
The controls are horrible, how many times that I pressed the Windows button by accident... But at least the controls were not like Alt + F4
I would have preferred that the mouse was involved too. Pick up block with Left Mousebutton and place with Right Mousebutton.

What a great local co-op game. It is perfect to pick up and play with very simple rules and controls. Everything about it is flawless. Get it ASAP.
This is a marvellous piece of educational software. I am a certified construction engineer now.
(Recommended for couch coop (but it's FFA in reality - may the strongest warthog win)).

I've been playing this game a lot more then I thought I would! Its quirky and fun and other then needing some sort of tutorial to cut the learning curve its fantastic! Really can't recommend it enough.
Oh, what a gem of a game! Pure awesomeness.The gameplay is simple yet engaging, and the idea - while completely bizarre - is completely original and unprecedented. The graphic style is also very interesting and simple, but nevertheless, it still delivers all the message needed for a player. It's also very concise and well thought-out.And the OST is one of the best pieces I've heard in an indie game. But catching blocks sucks.
This game is hot garbage. Literally the control scheme is super dumb. The characters have 0 depth and personality. And above all else it turned me gay.
My first impression is very positive. At once it took me couple of minutes to reach the balance and get along with a keyboard, and as I did the gameplay was nothing else but fantastic fun! And when I was finaly able to look around I noticed those little funny elements. Still strugling to go higher than outer space level but it looks very promising! Really great game, I enjoy playing it a lot :-)
I think it is a really great party game, have your friends around and cooperate to get to the highest level. I'm still curious whats at the end. It is really funny when you try to record your gameplay and then when you watch it, you find those funny details and what you did wrong. Looks very easy when you watch it from a side, but when it comes to playing it by yourself you see how challenging it can be.
Very well made, eye-catching, funny and very surprising. There are no two same gameplay.
I recommend not to pick the middle block to start at once, but to play a lil bit before you let the water run. Get along with keyboard and diffirent blocks. Try to figure out your own strategy. And it feels really rewarding after some time when you finally reach another level.
