One of the first awesome indie games on Wii + Gamecube. Fell in love with Behemoth from the days of Alien Homid and playing with friends in high schools with that one kid who had the better tv, One the better beat 'em gems from the mid 2000s. Then we'd go to play Smash Bros and Rock Band. The soundtrack brings back a lot of good time memories. Thank you always Behemoth for many, many years of entertainment.
This to me is one of the best games that I have ever played, with the fun controls, classic Newgrounds artstyle, outstanding soundtrack, the multiplayer, and just great gameplay in general, I would highly recommend this game to anyone who just wants to have a fun time.

i like the game, its fun especially when you learn the diffrent combos and techniques, like juggeling and elemental infution, even tho a critisism i have is that the game doesn't get updates, even tho we are gonna get a new DLC soon
This game was one of the greatest games of my childhood. I had so much fun playing it with friends. Honestly I think it still stands up today and is still a great goofy game.

very fun been playing since xbox 360 and it has a good mix of remastered and orignal castle crashers
this game is really easy and really fun o would play it if you beat the game you can get a new characters if you beat it with another character you will get a new one. but 10/10 would play.
As an enjoyer of battleblock theatre I am disappointed, there is no actual skill involved, or reason to try out new builds as some are just trash, and only some others are good, the fact that you move in 3d is just weird and just a plain mistake on the devs parts. I didn't have any fun in the 4 hours I have played this.
I have nothing but love and sincere affection for Castle Crashers. I played the game on the XBox360 with my brothers when we all kids and the sheer satisfaction we all had when we defeated the game together was unreal. It was sheer joy and thus returning to this game is incredibly nostalgic. The game is forgiving for incredible newer players as you continually pick up new skills and adjust your playstyle accordingly. Failure will be present but it is a part of the process and even if you die if you leveled up during it it can go towards your stats so you can boost something say defence (which also helps health) to get even further. Don't be worried if you feel like things are too easy once you leveled up, insane mode is there to humble you. All I can say there is "juggling" is your best friend.
There is four main stats, strength, magic, defense and agility and they all help progress your way through the game. The magic too can be incredibly fun while some characters do share similar magic there is tons of replay ability going through the game. It's even more fun with friends or family. Nothing screams better than accidentally beating your siblings to kiss the Princesses in a fight to the death. There is no real dialogue and story is simple. An Evil Wizard steals a crystal and four Princesses are kidnapped and its your job to take them back.
The real highlight for me is the music. It has been well over ten years since i first started playing this game originally and the entire music score never fails to astound me with how good it is. All of it memorable and distinct but my personal favourite is Snow World and of course the Necromancer theme. Seriously play the game for the satisfaction of beating the Necromancer, he's still one of my alltime favourite bosses for a game. He's challenging and he's one of the bosses who comes down and fights like the player, it's so cool to see once you get to that phase.

This game is very very fun with friends and actually just alone too if you dont have any of those! I would GREATLY recommend any game created by The Behemoth!

I've played this game multiple times over with my little brother. One of the first co-op games out of the Halo series. It's fun, enticing, and keeps us coming back to play some more. Cannot believe I've gotten to experience this game over 10 years at this point now! The developers have given this lovely game so many breaths of life, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
Honestly one of the best games I have played in a long time. It had so much replay value, fun with friends, and challenging with insane, as well many characters with special magic. This is such a good game that I continue playing it. It's just so good. As well with friends it becomes so much fun.
Such a fun game especially with friends. The graphics and animation are simple and charming. There a lot of secrets and items to find. My only complaint is just about every enemy attacks knock you down making it a frustrating, especially by in solo play. A gang of enemies can and will relentlessly knock you down over and over again without allowing you to get away. It gets really old and very annoying. Granted this an older indie game before indie games were well known. I'd love to see a sequel thats a little more fleshed out and updated.

My review after play the whole game with all achievements:
There's something cool about this game and it's the difficulty of it, at the same time there's fun boss battles and cool battles with your teammates (fighting for the kiss of the princess like is you real girlfriend, lol).
If you play alone, it can be a little boring, because, for me, the best thing of this game is playing with your friends and have fun together.
Something that is really wrong with this game, is the awful gameplay when only one of your teammates have bad connection. If only one player have bad connection, it will stop ALL the game with the message "waiting for players" and making the game impossible to play. You can feel a little lag even if you have good connection, but it stills playable.
FINAL SCORE: 3.5/5 ★★★✰✰
Fun game, but there is an online achievement. 100%ing this game in 2024 will be difficult and annoying to obtain
nothing batter than beating normal mode with ease but can't get pass the second boss which is the troll on insane mode you need friends to beat this game the one thing i don't have but it's really fun tho.
great beat em up game time passer, grindy if you consider all the unlockable characters and not to mention all of the hidden pets and weapons you can find, leveling up all the different characters to test out their powers is also a great thing to do.

The various weapons and characters offer a fun variety of playstyles, while also remaining somewhat the same. Stronger weapons can be acquired, and magic can be upgraded as time goes on. It doesn't matter if you summon fire, ice, etc., all magic packs a punch!
The humor is a bit crass, but it never bleeds into offensive or obnoxious. It's a product of its time in all the best ways.
I am in love with the comic/cartoon art style, everything looks so distinct. The boss battles are also memorable, primarily due to the stylistic choices of the developers.
Definitely a difficult game, at least for me. Difficult, but fun nonetheless. I recommend owning and playing this classic!
The base story is cool and controls are easy to get, arena is nice too. I say the devs price everything really fairly, even with different currencies and stuff. def worth the buy!

It's Castle Crashers! Its been on consoles and pc, it's great with friends, and its super silly. It is very much a "newgrounds game" if you played those back in the day. The art and 2d style really still feel like those old flash games. It can be tricky on the 100% achievements if you're going for that since it includes one for their minigame and one for the pvp. Plenty of fun knights to play with friends though!

I say Kinda as coop with some friends can be fun but after playing through it twice, it starts to get repetative real quick.

Castle Crashers is one of the BEST GAMES EVER, Ive owned this game on multiple different Devices and i never get bored of it, I've replayed it multiple times and I never get bored of it. Playing this game with friends only makes it 10 times better!

If you love simple, no-nonsense beat-em-up games, then this is a solid recommend. And if you have a few buddies to play with, this is even more of a recommend.
Castle Crashers is cheap, fun and filled with goofy nonsense. The art style is charming and vibrant too! Do not expect a ton of variety in combat mechanics, but if you factor in the different character abilities, there's a decent amount of variety.
My only gripe really was that the final battle was too long-drawn, but other than that, no complaints.
Its like I stepped through a door going back to my young childhood of games, Y'know... when games were made with passion and not just a cash-grab.
Plus the SOUNDTRACK is so amazing; its like my ears are going through a constant orgasm
Castle Crashers is an Amazing game to beat over and over again especially with friends! It has tons of weapons, characters, and levels! With a non-serious chill/funny atmosphere that you could play for hours on end. HOWEVER this game has a lot of difficulty spikes that new players could lose interest in fast, like when you first meat the "bear" enemy, they get tankier have a new ability and kinda spam you. but if you like classic beat em ups this is a must play!
also I bought this on the switch first, and now i wait for the dlc on steam can't wait!

I had my best friend play this with me. we are now a gay couple. Recommending this to everyone and definitely play this game with your friends or significant other.
Great game, aged a lot finer than I remembered. The combat does actually have a pretty good ebb and flow to it when you use all the parts of the buffalo (blocking, running roll, combos, magic.) I know this is a weird thing to be angry about, but the content kinda just... runs out? Like there's a moment where you just go "Oh, I guess this is the last level?" and depending on your build and how you're playing you might have to backtrack through the last two levels over and over. Kinda strange that they're adding a character editor over a world editor, because it definitely feels like this could have had more TLC with some content updates over the years. Especially because the concept is gold, but a lot of the levels just boil down to walk right until you can't and the ones that break the formula are either too far back to give you exp end-game or are just too tedious to play again. For a game made for Xbox Live, y'all sure left this dead in the water. 7/10

This game is an absolute classic. I understand it has plenty of history online, but I was introduced to it in college when my roommates and I played 4 player co-op. What a blast this game is to play, specifically if you have friends to play with. This game comes from a very particular time in the internet's history, and the animation style and humor are the most notable aspects of the game that make that apparent. More specific to the actual gameplay, this game plays very well. It's a good old fashioned beat 'em up with a medieval theme, lots of levels, characters, weapons that range from being really cool and powerful to being really silly. I also like the leveling and progression which allows you to build any character to fit your preferred play style.
There is a lot to say about this game, but I think I can leave it with what I've already said. This game is just straight up fun, which is amplified a lot if you have some friends or other buddies to play with. The difficulty is definitely on the higher end, but don't let that deter you from picking this one up, it's super worth it. I genuinely think just about anyone can have a lot of fun with this game!

This game is a key memory from my childhood. Waking up early on Saturday mornings with my little sister, turning on the xbox 360, grabbing some orange juice for the both of us and just sitting back and laughing as we played Castle Crashers. I can't wait for the new DLC to come out! To relive those memories with brand new art style, enjoying the game over again, now in both my sister and I's adulthood. SO EXCITED!!!

main gameplay is fighting but you can also play arenas - ( minigames where you are fighting with friend or npc)

- and sometimes special lvls like voleyball in the desert mission

well the lore is pretty easy but that's not a big problem ( 7/10 )
