classic 1st person shooter with g8 online multiplayer
Not the most fun shooter to me personally but definitely a classic, and once a favourite of mine when I was still a child. It also surprises me how short this game is, not even 4 hours is kind of a joke. It was an ok experience going thou the game again after quite some time, thou thinking about it, I might never return to it again.
Great game, an amazing experience after so many years to play it again.
Best COD game hands down.

The quintessential Call of Duty experience.
It is lovingly uncomplicated with its simple premise, unadulterated with predatory monetization practices, and authentic with its richly down-to-earth presentation and remarkable level of restraint whether engaged in single-player campaign or multiplayer.
Future installments in the series may carry over and expand the inherent action and gunplay aspect, amongst other things, though this is the one (alongside World at War) that can be truthfully considered an actual military shooter, distinguished from the ones that merely pretend to be.
If you want to go insane, play this on veteran mode.
Modern Warfare delivers an exhilirating single player experience, with fast paced gameplay, a cinematic narrative, and responsive gunplay. Set in a slightly futuristic world, this would mark the first time the COD series makes a departure from its traditional WWII setting. With memorable level design, the game had impressive environmental, lighting and texture details for a 2007 release. The multiplayer mode was trailblazing and introduced the perk system, allowing for a level of progression not usually seen in online FPS. Many future titles would implement these ideas. Modern Warfare remains a classic and no one can deny the contributions it has made to the FPS genre.
If you have $20 to spare and like FPS games, get this game.
Одна из лучших частей Call of Duty. В ней отлично все: сюжет, графика(для 2007 года), геймплей, персонажи и музыка. Очень нравятся миссии в Припяти с Макмилланом под атмосферную музыку. Отличный мультиплеер. Минусов всего два - это неадекватная максимальная сложность и бесконечный респавн, но вышеупомянутые плюсы перекрывают эти минусы.
Не зря эта игра стала культовой. Так что моя оценка этой замечательной части Call of Duty - 9/10.

It always bothered me why couldnt I remember anything about the story. I thought my memory was bad. Turns out the story is not explained at all until you have finished MW3. Its just a series of disconnected shooting galleries.
Don't buy this game if you're in germany. The german voice acting is horrible and the "low violence version" is quite frankly fucking horrendous.
The game that started it all for most players. Absolutely pick this one up. Forget new COD, this is one of the GOATs.

This port has several issues support for Steam Cloud or controllers. It does have an issue setting up, but this isn't difficult to work around.
I recommend either buying the reboot or buying it somewhere else.
As I said so many times. Warring should always be done only in gaming.

That aside; lately I've been playing some classics game again in any genres.
Not for the nostalgia, but more to appreciate the complete original contents of it. Simply just to make some comparisons.
I like remasters or remakes as well, if they can stay true with the previous and not be toned down too many too much.
In terms of replayability value, classics are more daring and creatively excellent for being the truly bold and original.
By far this was and still is the best COD Modern Warfare among the rest, mind the graphics. And I'm a gamer who enjoys all kinds of graphics, from retro bits to hyper realistic ones. As long as the game itself enjoyable and fun from the beginning to the very end.

Millions of people used to love CoD... Now it's a sh|tshow
Man, this really takes me back... to those days where being able to play this FPS game in 2007 at an internet cafe was so mindblowing and so much fun that it infuriated me whenever some other kid touched my campaign progress during the weekdays hahaha; twas too young to know how to use the chapter select function but yeah, good good times!
Just as Great now as it was way back when in '07. Every time I play this and a few other games I'm reminded of time spent with my 2 Son's who were 14 & 12 when this game first launched. This game always takes me back & I always remember times that I spent with my Boy's & how much fun We had with the CoD series of games. Thanks Trey-Arch & others who helped me stay connected with my Sons. <3 :-D

Take off your rose tinted glasses and don't play older Call of Duty titles in multiplayer unless you want to risk getting your computer compromised.

As always, Call of Duty remains overpriced for what it offers and is not worth your time. This is a game not being maintained by Activision at all and they should not be rewarded for even doing the bare minimum to ensure device integrity.
I'm know many people like this game a lot but this just isn't for me. The story is just too confusing for me.
Incredibly fun level design, decent story, memorable characters and an all around solid game.
An all-time classic, but I love this game and its sequels for a very personal reason: When I was a young teen, this game convinced me to NOT join the army. Despite what some people might think, and all the action packed gunfights and flashy explosions, the campaign ultimately has a very anti-war message that basically goes "yeah soldiering would be cool as a game with infinite health, but even in action land soldiers are considered disposable by the powers that be and quickly forgotten about in just a few hours" And if you have more than one braincell, you can do the math of which part of that holds true in real life.
Idk why i own this propaganda shit. Go play spec ops the line or Doom eternal. The only way to stop fascism/capitalism/bigotry is through communism and science/evidence based education.

my friend used to love this game, as he group us he forgot himself. He was top tier top 500 best cod 4 player in the world. I asked him as an adult to player with me and he said no dice. My life is over.

First impressions after beating the full campaign:
Story was pretty safe, VA fine, gameplay mechanics are the same classic COD has always been. Knifing is like 60% chance of connecting and very annoying when you're that close to them. Always realized that this was one of the classics that everyone had in their xbox 360 days and i bet the multiplayer was the most fun its been as it set its foundation for better games in the future. Obviously don't pay full price for anything on steam but i think the amount of fun and fulfillment from the story is just about worth what i paid for which is about around 5 bucks? Maybe 10?
Just super safe all around, glad to have quickly knocked the 8ish hours out of it.

What I like about it:
Very fun, screenshot worthy, and a good story. The campaign gives you a good 2-7 hours of fun, including the Epilogue. It sets a great stage for its progeny, MW2 and 3 respectively.
What I didn't like:
While the game is good at making sure history is intact, locations are realistic, etc... the story line isn't that realistic. Unlike, let's say, ArmA, it makes you feel more like Superman than an actual soldier. And that's alright! Some games aren't meant to be realistic. It's a game, not a history lesson, or a high tactics military sim.
