Amazing cod game, very griddy and dark way of showing war. Probably best WWII game or at least cod game out there.

Usage of the flamethrower single-handedly denies your passage into heaven, but if you don't mind that minor fact then it's one of the best campaigns in series history. My personal second favorite to Black Ops 1. You will not survive.

WaW is a Call of Duty Classic, by far one of my all-time favorite games specially the multiplayer, to which I was surprised to see that is still active even though the servers are down

An all time classic. Works on steam deck but you will need to do some minor messing around (took me less than 5 minutes) to get the controller to work. Don't know about the security of multiplayer (on pc) , but campaign + zombies worked fine for me

Definitively the best Call of Duty in my Opinion, not even from blind nostalgia, The sheer atmosphere this game has is unbeaten by any of the call of duty titles after.

The average experience in veteran mode is die a lot of time by a japanese or germany grenade rain and at the end of game you necessarily will take a screenshot of serg Reznov speeching about our motherland. 10/10

Holy shit this was a good game. This is my first time playing a COD game, and this one really lives up to what people say about it. The story is amazing, the graphics are insane (especially the details), the mechanics work well, and the guns are fantastic. I would highly recommend, I give it a 11/10

it includes all dlc and multiplayer but the graphics change if you leave the game wrong.

zombies is very fun, and somehow it is one of the best looking cod games nearly 20 years later. like seriously this looks a lot better than bo6 for some reason, but this game runs on a gt730, and bo6 doesnt even run on a lot of decent gpus.

I just play this for zombies, it's definitely worth the $20 and it doesn't drown you with micro-transactions.

They nailed everything in the game, the visual style, the music, the brutality of the second world war, they really got it right and it is criminal this has never gotten a remaster because it's one of the few that really deserve one, if only just a campaign remaster like MW2 got.

this is to me is still the best Call of Duty loved it I hope for a remake for Play Station 5 and Xbox with Cross play and it updated on PC as well zombies and stuff where so good.

The game that started it all. Back in 2008. I owe all my zombies experience to this game right here. I would not be who I am today without this game. Old but gold.

Bloody, horrifying, and visceral. The level of hell this game puts you in is almost as much as the soldiers themselves went through, but it will make you smile all the way through with its fluid gameplay and top tier soundtrack egging you on to endless slaughter until the day is over. Not only is this the best CoD game, it is also the best military shooter money can buy.

A good classic cod. Campaign is really good. Multiplayer may not function but Plutonium allows for community servers. Zombies has all 4 classic map, There is also a massive backlog of custom zombies maps that can be installed. would heavily recommend.

If you LOVE history and realistic portrayals of it, this is the game for you.

This game is an excellent portrayal of the savagery, and merciless brutality of the second world war. The grittiness of the atmosphere, the 'show-don't-tell' style of storytelling, and the CONTROL the game gives you over whose lives you take away, and whose past and futures are burned away in time forever whether you kill them, or your friends do; it all comes together to create the (what I believe to be) most raw and unforgiving WW2 game to exist.
When you kill someone in this game, it doesn't feel like you're just killing a generic game npc. It feels like you're taking everything that someone could have been away, forever. Stories and lessons learned throughout life to tell their children, friends, or family are eradicated from history forever.

I love call of duty, it has only gotten better over the decades! I would love it if the Development team ventured into other great wars of history, those wars that led to ww1 and ww2. Such a great game!

This game made me think how great activision was back then. Playing this game made me a little more interested in world war 2. Lastly I give this game a 10/10 on how this game was made.

Let me start off by saying 17 years later and this game still holds up, still holds a candle to any other war game made today! It's more than just a war game. It's a masterly crafted historical account of the true atrocities of war. From an amazing soundtrack, captivating voice acting, and stellar set pieces I still believe this is the best Call of Duty campaign in the entire franchise. This game leaves you with a feeling like no other. You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't play this game.

They don't make them like they used to. This game is of phenomenal quality and every gunfight feels like a movie.

I played this game a lot as a kid growing up, mainly played it on my old ass PS3. WAW has aged incredibly well compared to other older CoDs imo, while I prefer Black Ops 1 for it's Story and Zombies, without this game, we would have never gotten that game's Zombies. I've yet to replay this game's Story, but from rewatching it on YouTube, it's still amazing. I'd argue that WAW's Story is not just a CoD game, but also a Horror game too! I have been replaying Zombies however, and I still love it as much as I did back when I was a kid. Should you buy this game in 2025? Absolutely! Make sure to wait for a sale tho, paying full price for a game from 2008 is madness!

One of the best Call of Duty games of all time in my opinion, bar none. From the campaign, to the soundtrack, to the sheer amount of FUN I've had playing this on my Xbox 360 back in the day with my friends - this game is my absolute favorite COD game ever. It's a shame that the multiplayer servers are no longer active on Steam, but I'd still recommend this game to anyone that wants to try out the older COD games and is also a history buff, as this game is widely known for being based on the events of World War 2. For $20, it's certainly not a bad game by any metric - and it goes on sale quite frequently, so if you ever wanna give it a go I'd say it's worth it.

This game is so good id rather get ra*ed by shit ton of grenades on veteran and being stuck on one lvl for 5 hrs than play 2 mins of vanguard...

IMO top 3 CoD's of all time. The grainy feeling of the old school playstyle is just unbeatable.

One of the best Call of Duty's EVER MADE, the Soviet campaign is amazing and blends with Black Ops amazingly. The Pacific campaign well, I thought it was boring but its still a classic.

Honestly the game may be good and all that you expect from a shooter, but the graphics suck on the PC and it's not even playable with a controller, so I thumb it down for the mechanics. World at War can be easily finished compared to future iterations of the franchise and it feels like it's the one where the story is least intense. We know it's World War two and the developers did not bother with adding new content to it.

nostalgia for sure, i remember when i first played this game when t came out it was fun.. the original nazi zombies.. only downfall is.. steam over fucking charges for it just like every other old game. you can literally get it for free on xbox.. money hungry selfish rich people like usual of course. on top of that the price of new games in store is cheaper than what steam charges. but yes its a good game. if you never played it you will enjoy it!
