Could not finish because the camera flashlight won't work, specially when it is in a place where you need the flashlight to see where you are going.
This game was enjoyable until it crashed. Cool puzzles, great scares. I'm disappointed that I won't be able to finish it.
A bug prevents me from finishing the game, I have reviewed the cell table with the classic A3, B1, D4.C5, B3 and the computer does not accept it, I have tried with capital letters, lower case letters, etc and it does not work, I was going to expose all good things about the game, but since this bug won't let me finish it, I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.
Maybe I'll take some slams for this but Deluded Mind is a stinker if there ever was one. It's a nuked to the ground warehouse of cliches that didn't run well enough on my machine to even finish once after battling my way through the slowdowns only to reach yet another in a series of hallway running, where do I go (?) maze segments.
What you get here is unfortunately your same ol' mental-illness madness tale with cement-shoes gameplay that consists of read a little of this and a little of that, solve some very basic puzzles, get stuck in weird hallways where you gotta stumble your way to the exit by picking the right directions (sometimes running from a goofy baddie or two) while generally getting annoyed every 20 minutes further. It lacks atmosphere by settling on dark n' dreary visual choices n' nothing but although the sound is at least above average. Stumbling around in the dark like a fool in horror games is one thing, doing it like a fool with very little point is absolutely another. I actually had to take a couple of Tylenols after 3 hours of this frustration and still remember needing to do so. It gave me a headache.
It's not optimized as well as it could be but that's not the bottom line problem. The game isn't enjoyable, progression leads to more of the same and with the running issues it became too much of a hassle to even want to finish. Unfortunately I put too much time into it to refund it (I'm stubborn as hell, I like at least finishing things I buy once). Road closed due to avalanche, proceed with caution.
A solid, yet by the numbers psychological horror walking simulator revolving an FBI-agent, a tragic death, kidnappings, picking up notes and a hallucinogen. And, of course, a criminal. And a rather abrupt, modern cliché ending that doesn't deliver, go figure.
While somewhat scratched by awkwardly forced voice-overs and stiff, "instructing" dialogue, Deluded Mind makes up for it by using randomly generated jump-scares in specific areas, which proves to be highly efficient and eerie, providing unpredictability and making you fear what may lurk around the next corner. The opening is slow and somewhat teasing in navigation; however, once the protagonist moves on to the next section, the atmosphere quickly alters by instilling dread and foreboding; unsettling soundscapes kick in on occasion, which greatly heighten the tension of a nightmare taking place. The sounds are surprisingly crisp and spooky, and visually the game certainly looks good and the everyday settings believable.
Another emphasizing element throughout the game is a handful of stand out puzzles; while complex and original, they can also be target for a great deal of frustration in terms of time-consuming and too much wandering since the "logic" of these puzzle demonstrations seem far-fetched and intangible. Cutting down a couple needlessly long sections would ease a couple of hours of frustration and improve the overall pacing of the game.
Once picked up on sale, Deluded Mind is a surprisingly unsettling indie-horror that certainly instills chills of dread and well-timed scares with a handful of screams, phony voice-overs and baffling sections.

I started off exploring hallways and rooms I find a piece of paper with drawings labelled 1-4 to look for to get the code to the door I got the code "8252" it has to be entered in the way its labelled 1-4 on the drawing I tried always no such luck and then I looked at Youtube walk throughs to find the numbers are different.
Resulting in UNINSTALL GAME.

Mediocre and tiresome "psychological" maze experience , devoid of sounds and with an annoying flash mechanic[in te last part] - avoid !
Game crashed a few minutes in, reloaded the save, all key items are missing as if I have picked them up, but they are not in my inventory. So corrupted save.
Not to disapointed, voice acting was pretty poor and there wasn't much else that was making me want to play it.
Refunded.
I really can't recommend this game.
First it's way too dark. (Turning up the gamma value isn't a great solution.) And I mean Game of Thrones S8E3-dark.
Then the game has almost no sounds, it's not creepy at all, the environments look all pretty much the same, the level design is just maze after maze. If you want to pick up an item you have to point in exactly the right way to it, otherwise you can't pick it up. What that means is you usually take a few seconds to pick an item up. WTF
But the thing which sucked the most are the puzzles. I was stuck in the game for 45 minutes because of a puzzle. But thing is it wasn't too difficult but for some reason the game didn't let me progress. A bug?!
I'll explain it: you have to find a code to enter a locked door. Previously you found a note which indicates 4 places in the level. So you go there and find each place one letter for the code.
The thing is, the solutions for the puzzles are randomized, so you can't check for the solution on a walkthrough. So I found the places and thought my code was 8911, but it didn't work. I tried everything: every combination of these numbers or changing one or two of the numbers "1" by a "7". No luck. I asked in the formus, got no help though.
I had to restart the whole game and then my randomized code worked fine. So either it was bugged previously or one number apparently was not the one I thought it was, in both cases this is bad.
Then I moved on in the game to be stuck only a few minutes later: I had to find a code again! I checked a walkthrough because I couldn't find it, but, like I said the solutions are randomized, so my code wasn't at the same location.
So I turned up the gamma value. I hate that, but that way I could see better in case the code was somewhere in the dark. Then I checked every room, every corner, every drawer TWICE but couldn't find the code.
At a playtime of about 1.5h to have only progressed about 15 minutes into the game to be stuck with no help whatsoever I had enough.
UPDATE: Well, the developer now helped me and told me the code. It was hidden in one of the notes, but on that note is no hint at all that this could be for the door I needed. Also I had no idea that there was a code hidden in that note.
I have now beaten the game and I have to add and change some points in my review:
The game has huge loading times and the performance was pretty bad at some points (about 30 fps), in one area the game did stutter.
The horror aspect actually was all right, although it uses mainly jump scares. The story was a confusing mess, no idea what the game was about.
The character has really low stamina and it takes to long to recharge it. Really unnecessary considering there are no enemies to run away.
The variety in the levels was also better in the part of the game I haven't played before. But the maze-like-level-design stays. In fact, near the end of the game there is a huge maize. Was stuck there for about 30-45 minutes and found the exit by pure luck. Was no fun at all. In General the puzzles stay the biggest let-down for me.
Deluded Mind offers a lot of potential for a good Horror Game, Jumpscares, a lot of 'What is going on here?' moments and a good atmosphere (wether you're within the dream sequences or in the actual Mental Health Hospital) but there are a few aspects about this game, that personally took a lot of the fun out for me.
First, the Maze Riddle either bugged for me or it made no sense at all-so I spend so and so long looking for the last number but couldn't find it. I ended up crossing through another door and escaped/solved the Maze but I do not understandwhy the number I choose was right. The riddle was more frustrating than anything else and the constant resets (even if I hadn't passed through a number) annoyed me and the occasional scary parts weren't scary at all anymore.
Another issue in the game was the very last riddle to which I also couldn't find the clue, and having to wait so and so long for the flash to be usable again was rather tedious. (While I do understand the game mechanic there and it provides good possibilites for Jumpscares it simply halted progress to a point where I wasn't feeling the game anymore)
Overall, I think Deluded Mind offers some hours of a good Horrorgame and both a very subtle horror and a classic array of Jumpscares but the riddles are taking out the atmosphere and fun of the game.
I'd rate it a 7/10.
I had a lot of fun with this game. It started a little slowly and then ramped up into quite the horror fest. I like jump scares. I like mazes. I like games where I’m not quite sure where the story is going. And I like challenges. So I had a good time. I will say that the game description isn’t kidding about the hallucinations getting stronger the longer you take to solve puzzles. I found this most pronounced in a hallway switch/setting the pattern puzzle and the second leg of a 3-part maze. If you don’t get out right away, the maze will reset on you. On the one hand, the maze gets easier with lighted lines showing paths you’ve taken, but the reset function that pulls you back to the start made this one of the harder mazes I’ve had to conquer.
You’re in a hallucinatory state so your past and present intertwine and there is that ‘what is real and what isn’t’ kind of trip you’re on. I just kicked back and enjoyed the ride.
This is one of the most boring games I have ever played. Tedious beyond belief. After ten minutes of gameplay your yawning, ten minutes later your lucky not to nod off. The horror bit is a few jump scares, puzzles offer no real challenge.
The game is also way to dark.
Deluded Mind has its frustrations but it is definitely a stand-out indie horror.
The randomised jumpscares / scary moments were so well timed, placed with the sound effects it was S.P.O.O.K.Y! Something I rarely say of steams neverending catalog of indie horrors. The story, gameplay, music ect were all solid!!
My biggest frustration would be the labyrinth, something I was not a fan of as I can't say it was too much fun running around looking for particular numbers in an empty hallway. My only other con is the morse code, I liked that puzzle and figured it out instantly, ALTHOUGH, the door I was trying to use it on, was the wrong one, but I thought I had the code wrong. However, this may just be me overlooking simple details. Nevertheless, don't let that deter you as this game has so many other praise-worthy moments.
I'm normally a hardened horror game player and nothing really gets to me anymore, but this games horror elements were put together almost seamlessly. I also really appreciated the Dev(s) whom are so active on the discussion page, constantly helping stuck players (me) and really working on making their game the best it can be. Kudos!
All in all, this game is a must have. I always skimmed past when I saw it in my library it as it looked like a mimic of so many games before.. but it definitely brings its own unique style and deserves to be played by many like-minded horror fans out there!

There are certainly more thrilling and polished free-to-play horror games on the market, so I wouldn't recommend spending money for this experience, when it's probably less frustrating watching someone else beat it on YouTube.
As indie works go, it's really hit or miss.
if you like creepy/horror/jumpscare games where you can explore and solve puzzles without having to run and hide (or get killed) then this game is for you. 4 hours in and have had several goose bump on arms and shivers down my spine feelings. this is what a horror game should be. having a great time with it and hope to see more. nice job devs. able to bind keys and haven't found any glitches in the game, but needed to turn up the gamma a bit.
I haven't beat this game yet but It's a great horror game. I have jumped out my sit at least 6 times in 3-hours! 10/10
This is one of the best games I have played! Challenging puzzles, just enough jump scares and some twist and turns!
And if I needed any help, the developer was great at getting back quickly to help me!
This game makes me unresonably angry for a couple of reasons, but what really gets my panties in a twist is the fact that it dazzled me with it's fine looks and somewhat interesting story. I feel robbed, I guess you could say.
Pros:
+ Game looks really good.
+ There are neat little details added, like foot cream in the bathroom, phones charging in the bedroom and those little things which we all have in our homes.
+ There are some good ambient sounds here and there, some spooky klanking, footsteps and whatnot.
+ The notes are well written and interesting to read. There are far to few of them however.
Cons:
- Jumpscare galore. Everything is jumping at ya.
- A lot of wandering around trying to find the triggerpoint so you can progress. Darting in and out of rooms til something happens.
- There's generally a lot of running back and forth in the same area.
- Mazes.
- Mazes with puzzles IN THEM.
- Uninteresting, thin story. (More on that below)
- Voice acting is D- and mostly seems a tad too chipper. The main protagonist speaks in the same tone of voice to a SWAT-leader as he does to his daughter.
- Besides the element of surprise, it's really not scary. Some of the ambient sounds may get the heart pumping, but it's temporary.

I don't really know why this game pisses me off as much as it does. The whole premise is that the guy is having hallucinations but there are few surrealistic moments, which I think that the game would have benefited from. I mean, why not add random animals, butterflies that catch on fire, random birdsong, trees, a trainwhistle. Cockroaches having a party maybe. The possibilities are ENDLESS when it comes to hallucinations! Instead they seems oddly down-to-earth and bound to this dudes memories, which take place in ordinary home settings with relatively ordinary objects. Play with it for f**s sake! It could be an awsome journey with subtle introspection, set in a surrealistic enviroment, with scary progression. As mentioned, burning butterflies, bunnies with no heads, MERMAIDS ON LAND! Idk.
I may not even be able to finish it, but we'll se if there are some changes to this review if I do.
Any spelling mistakes and weird grammar are on the house.
Just finished the game and no, it did`nt take me 6 hours (I left it in PAUSE for a while once as I wasnt sure if it saved properly)!
It`s maybe a 3-5 hours playthrough depending on how long you need on some puzzles!
All in all I enjoyed the time I had with it! Some nice puzzles (a handful only anyway) and one very annoying one which I still dont get (you can manage by try and error but it might take some time)!
Grafix are alright but nothing special really!
I do recommend it still for horror fans, a game you can play while you wait for another release of something better...

From what I've seen so far, the game is quite decent. The graphics are above average and the voice acting is surprisingly good. If you enjoy slower moving (psychological over jump scare) type horror, then this is a good pick I think.

The game starts off with you waking up in some sort of psychological hospital. Things move slowly with mysterious notes, door puzzles, and general exploring. The game doesn't force jump scares down your throat, and relies more on the environment to set the mood.
Audio effects are pretty good all around with good voice acting and a great ambience.
Graphics are better that you usually expect for these types of games. It was built on the unreal engine and visuals are good.
I cant speak much for the length of the game, but from what I've seen so far, the game feels pretty solid.
My biggest complaint so far is a really small interaction box when picking up some items. Feels like pixel hunting at times to grab a set of keys. Should be easily fixed if the devs care to polish and bug fix.
