Missing Road is... a weird puzzle game?

I'm not too sure what's that's supposed to be honestly. Some cryptic puzzles, poor music and an extremely annoying endgame piercing noise... The game took me under 10 minutes to complete. I literally have nothing else to say... Low FPS, boring, bad music, poor graphics... it doesn't feel like much of a game to begin with.

Overall, absolutely not worth $4. It's an annoying 10 minutes non-game experience if anything.

Missing Road is barely a game, it's more of an art exhibition that's been dumped on Steam, presumably because the local art galleries took out a restraining order on the "artists" who had no other choice but to pay Valve $100 to dump this on Steam. Because gamers love things that aren't games on their gaming platform.

There's some game-like elements here, but basically this is a shallow experience of moving a small ball around extremely lazily, badly drawn "art" environments guessing at how to solve simple puzzles to progress through this complete and utter waste of 15 minutes, however, I can shed light on a bit of a hack of the game... if you don't play it, you don't waste 15 minutes of your life. Pretty cool, huh?

From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

The artwork here is terrible, it's a hodge-podge of amateurish "My First Wacom Tablet" style drawings used instead professional looking game assets. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can create graphical assets properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low, enough on its own to deter gamers.

There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics.

The implementation here is of such poor quality, the developer couldn't work out how to make the game display in fullscreen, it only runs in a window.

The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers.

Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the GameMaker Studio construction kit/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset favoured by amateur developers as it's cheap and requires little in the way of development skill, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. GameMaker Studio is most commonly used to make retro pixel shovelware and cash grabs like this.

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.

Missing Road has the almost comically optimistic (if it wasn't so sad) price of around $4 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.

Very short (about 15 minutes) but interesting puzzle game. I can not tell very much because that would destroy the playthrough. I like it very much. The price is too high for that playtime. I recommend the game, but i would not pay the full price.
