Compared to We Were Here Together, this was much more faster, for me more enjoyable, but maybe less varied. A great game to play with a friend.
Found out my girlfriend didn't know what a square was.
Really enjoyable, if you really liked the first one, highly recommend this one!
this game glitched out one too many times, wouldn’t let us start from a specific chapter so you gotta do it all in one go. really fun besides the bugs..
The continuation of the free first part turned out to be not bad, it is good that in this part you can leave together and not leave anyone under certain circumstances. But among the minuses there are bugs with a microphone, changing the language and more complex solutions, but all this is not critical.
Game microphone won't work unless you invite your friend through the "Invite a friend" option, any other option will result in microphones don't picking up
The save system also doesn't work forcing you to play the entire game in one sitting or mess with your save file, and while that is not necessarily hard, these bugs have been well know ever since the release of the game and the Devs have done NOTHING to fix them
I Lost My Friend After This Game, 100% Recommend If You Want To Lose Someone Indirectly.
I Miss Uncle Richard.
This is the best sequel to any game.
I would like to continue this game but I find it quite hard - even on Discord - to find play buddies. Like the other parts, it's a great co-op experience solving puzzles and running around in dungeon maze with walkie talkie.
What a great game. If you have a friend you want to play a puzzle game with play this series (you can skip the first one)
This is a cool free to play game to test your friendship. Mine left me freeze to d.e.a.t.h.
nice escape room
Very buggy. played for ~1h20m and the game crashed 4 or 5 times. Including one BSOD. Luckily there are some checkpoints. But I won't be finishing this game. Sadly my first play is 15 days after I bought it, so outside the return window
Fun but still getting mad at my friend
Jogo bom
Played the first one with my gf, it was free and we both enjoyed it enough to purchase and play the second, much better than the first, some puzzles seem impossible lol but maybe thats because my brain isn't that big, turns out my girlfriend is much smarter than me which is an L for me.
Improved over the first title.
Too many co-op games are "The game, but with another person". We Were Here has two vastly different but connected playthroughs that accentuate different players' strengths. If you're frustrated and struggling, try swapping roles - my friend and I had a much easier time as peasant and lord respectively.
The puzzles vary in both difficulty and intensity and aren't consistent each playthrough. The story is decent, the storytelling is underwhelming, but the focus is really on the environment and interactions between you and your separated partner.
The second game in the series.
There are a lot of improvements in graphics and riddle design, much more fun than the first game!
You can really see how the devs improved their gamedesign over the span of the games.
The riddles in this one are not terribly difficult.
Fun quick 2-3 hours for a first playthrough.
This one is probably the weakest of the games in my opinion, but it's still definitely worth it if you're a fan of the series or even just interested in general.
Its a nice game but very bugged, somehow i could hear people playing in a different room and scared them. Very weird also sometimes when i start from a checkpoint i would spawn in the wrong place
Frustratingly flawed is the best way to describe it.
Good idea badly with some bad implemented puzzles.
Some of the puzzles are great some of them not so.
The timed ones especially not so, especially when when you can get caught on geometry for no reason and they're zero mistake time game - so in real life that would have been that.
Can see them getting better with each game.
Did not like the secret ending bit, very unsatisfactory - could have had various prompts. Obviously certain people would have been leave everyone else that just helped us behind but for those who understand how societies work this was not a good look.
It's a mediocre asymmetric puzzle game. Almost no story, puzzles were too easy and the voice over work sounded like a 14 year old with a voice changer. Glad I got it on sale.
The Past Within is a much better experience over all. Unique puzzles, interesting story line, cool art style and cheaper full price.
It's not a bad game but it wasn't what I was hoping for. I could see this for someone who doesn't do a lot of puzzle games or finds other ones to be difficult. But I'd recommend The Past With over this any day.
We Were Here Too, the second installment in the cooperative puzzle series, promises to delve deeper into the mysterious world of Castle Rock and challenge players' friendships. Unfortunately, instead of a more captivating adventure, the game only offers convoluted puzzles and a prolonged sense of isolation, both from your partner and from engaging gameplay.
While the concept of asymmetrical puzzles, where players must communicate and rely on each other to solve tasks, remains interesting, in We Were Here Too, the implementation falters. The puzzles often feel unnecessarily complex, not due to their intellectual depth, but due to poor visual communication and confusing clues. The description given by one player turns out to be vague or ambiguous, and the visual information provided to the other is insufficient to understand the context.
This problem is exacerbated by the fact that the game often fails to adequately explain its mechanics. As a result, instead of feeling the joy of collaborative problem-solving, players spend most of their time trying to figure out what is actually required of them. This leads to frustration and slows down the overall pace of the game.
The atmosphere, which was a strong point of the first part, also loses its appeal in We Were Here Too. Confined spaces, eerie music, and a sense of isolation are present, but not as effectively as before. The locations, although visually appealing, become monotonous over time, and the lack of a clear goal and motivation for the characters only reinforces the feeling of meaninglessness.
The story, which in the first part only hinted at mysterious events, tries to unfold in We Were Here Too, but does so clumsily and confusingly. Instead of adding intrigue, the plot only raises more questions that are not clearly answered. This leaves players with a feeling of dissatisfaction and disappointment.
In the end, We Were Here Too, unfortunately, failed to develop the successful formula of the first part. Confusing puzzles, poor communication, monotonous locations, and an indistinct plot lead to a drawn-out and tiresome experience. The game, which promised a captivating cooperative adventure, ultimately leaves players feeling isolated and disappointed. If you are looking for an engaging cooperative puzzle, it is worth paying attention to other games that have better realized their potential.
IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A REASON TO GET INTO THIS SERIES DO IT NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Cute little demo that is fun to play with your SO or close friend.
That said, the circular maze puzzle did end up causing me to get into an argument with my girlfriend and I'm choosing to blame the game for this than take responsibility for my own actions.
Are the devs fucking for real for the fucking arena area
The fucking time is so tight like it’s almost impossible to clear it. At least like give us some more time?????
It makes me so pissed because this part didn’t feel like a puzzle game at all. Even felt like they ONLY inserted this part just to increase the play time of the game.
nice game but i get aggresion attacks
Game is good but my friend is so braindead we couldn't even solve the second puzzle and I almost wanted to put a negative review
A must-have co-op game for all puzzle game lovers!
It's really, really hard and requires figuring out how to communicate what you see to others in a way that they can not only understand but use your communications to collaborate with you on solving the puzzle. It really makes you aware of how you're communicating with others and how they're understanding you.
All in all it's a great game BUT:
tl;dr: While it's really a fun game for two it's also way too expensive for what it is: an even worse working version of "We were here 1". Get it only if it's on a sale and you liked the first game.
Here's why, even though the first point is much more important and led to me not recommending it in the first place:
- Way too many bugs, clunky controls, performance & audio issues, crashing servers took most of our "playtime". Sometimes even the game itself crashed for no reason
- The puzzles, though still fun and enjoyable most of the time are taking way too long while being repetitive. So often towards their end they begin to feel like tedious work. Also the new and creative ideas of the first game have been kind of only reused and recycled.
overcomplicated. you have to work at NASA to be able to complete this game. took the fun out of it for that exact reason
Good escape room coop game, with some challenging puzzles. I really disliked the last one though, that forces you to have activated multiple switches from earlier rooms. The checkpoint system is a bit broken. The game is also really short, so only get it on sale. 7/10
Has one of the most frustrating puzzles in the series. Would recommend.
it's nice but basically the same as the first one
I had a fun time working through this asymmetric puzzle adventure with a friend. It felt like a good improvement on the first game in the series and I'm excited to see how the subsequent titles evolve from here. I will note that we experienced a couple of technical hiccups such as a gamepad controller being plugged in causing the game to hard crash, and at one point our save state reverted to unplayed. Both were easily remedied with a little bit of reading but just beware of that.
Best Indie game of 2017 and it is well deserved!
This series is innovative and they were very smart to offer the first game for free because once you played the 1st instalment, they had you hook, line and sinker!
The graphics are simple but decent enough to look at but the atmosphere and mystery surrounding their gameplay is above par. It is a great puzzle game that isn't too difficult but not too easy and it really tests your bond and patience, whether it is a friend or your SO. If you are looking for a free game to play and something new, try out We Were Here and continue your journey in We Were Here Too,this is a must pick!
Convince someone to join you as you both figure out an escape from this place and whether you both escape or not, all comes down to you!
Horrible optimization. My PC is good enough for modern games, but this game overheats my PC and sometimes crashes. Also, it lags on weaker PCs.
we can say it is good game , but i experienced a lot of bugs and glitches that ruined day :/
Pretty fun, not bad. Definitely an improvement over the previous We Were Here. I enjoyed it. I would recommend skipping the first one, and starting with this one.
Puzzles themselves are not that hard, because they made an emphasis on communication between players, that's the main challenge (How do I communicate these squiggles, shapes, swords?... etc). That's pretty fun in itself.
No bugs this time :)
Me and my bf played the first We Were Here and are trying to get through all the games. However, this one is unplayable and Im worried that the rest will be as well. Crashes at the very first puzzle and will not let us progress or save our checkpoint even though the checkpoint is "found". They were cheap so Im not too upset, but it still sucks to waste my money on unplayable games.
Great multiplayer game! I really like the length. It's enough to complete in sitting if desired, but not so short to be underwhelming. Puzzles were more difficult than the first one (in my opinion). Not a bad thing though! Just a heads up that if you struggle with the first one, this may be a tad trickier!
the checkpoint system is practically nonexistent, and we’ve lost progress multiple times because of random bugs.
This took us 30 minutes to make a lobby. Afterwards, we crashed every few minutes. Every time we crashed, it kicked the other person in my party out instead of holding the lobby to rejoin and reset our progress to the nearest checkpoint while also resetting all the puzzles.
After we crashed for the 4th time in the same area, we gave up for the night. It crashed 11 times in the first 4 areas before we gave up. We spent more time setting up a lobby than playing the actual game.
If you want to play a set up a lobby for two people simulator, then this game would be the perfect experience for you!
dont buy this game if your friend begs you and promises to play with you. Trust me he wont and it will have been a waste of money. Im talking to you Gio.
After greatly enjoying the first game, Partner and I practically SPRINTED to get this one as well.
All the puzzles were real fun for us both and also incredibly fair, which is really hard to pull off in games like these. We had to do a lot of thinking for some of the perspective puzzles, so many brain-cells have died in the attempts to do it all in one go. Some puzzles (curse that maze) were pure muscle memory, but that's okay, we got there in the end.
We both loved playing both sides and then going back for some achievements that we missed along the way.
We were BIG fans of the levers that you can escape together, absolutely loved that option, even if finding all the levers was so goddamn hard because we kept forgetting one.
Overall great game even if we got stuck in some levels for an embarrassing amount of time, mostly due to our own stupidity or lacking explanation skills for certain aspects.
Absolutely fantastic game to ruin your relationship over (joking, but we did end up arguing about a few parts but we also played through the night and tiredness was probably a factor).
Was really fun and a really enjoyable and relaxi- THE LEVERS! DON'T FORGET THE LEVERS, OTHERWISE YOU'LL BE MET WITH GREAT REGRET! Anyway. All the puzzles are fairly fun and somewhat easy to understand, had to do a lot of perspective swapping so that we could understand the other side, but I'm sure it could be done without doing any swapping tomfoolery. Was really fun playing it through both sides either way, would recommend going through it as the different perspectives to see what the other saw they went through it. Which you're going to have to do if you want to get all of the achievements anyway.
Was a good time all the way through, except when we didn't get through levels after an embarrassingly long amount of time. Other than that, was really a good experience to play with someone. Would recommend for any friend that you want to play with/ruin your friendship with them.
the game itself is great with the right friend (a friend with brain) because it have a hard/challenging puzzles.
but i will not recommend this game because of the broken checkpoint/save system, we have to do the puzzles all over again from the start once we leave,
if you have time to do it in a single sit ( if you have 300 IQ ) than go for it.
Puzzles are a bit tougher the first time through than the first game, and it's a bit longer. Still a fun format, but definitely play with a friend who's willing to put up with a little bullshit.
