Puzzles are a bit tougher the first time through than the first game, and it's a bit longer. Still a fun format, but definitely play with a friend who's willing to put up with a little bullshit.
God I love this game!! I would replay it if I could only find time in the schedule and more puzzling friends but I have craved more of it ever since playing it the first time and fully plan to enjoy every sequel and prequel I havent already enjoyed even years after playing this one (and its predecessor).
Great bonding experience and great atmospheric spook (but also Im easily spooked so maybe thats just me)
The puzzles were great besides the fact we couldn't solve them
We Were Here Too is a short but sweet coop experience. It also shows significant improvement in quality and polish from the previous entry which is a trend that I hope continues to the next.
If you like co-op puzzle games, you'll like this. If you liked "We were here", you'll like this. If either question is true, then get them all. They are worth playing.
Like first game, it is a great game to enjoy with a friend. Puzzle designs are fantastic. Watching someone play makes you think these puzzles are pretty easy but you can see the perfect design for this kind of game, when you play the game. Even though it is short and requires two games to play (one for you, one for the friend), it will satisfy your hunger for puzzles. I recommend playing both sides and purchasing it at sales, since it has great value.
This game improves on so many levels from the first game. The atmosphere is less creepy, but looks way better. The puzzles are more challenging and longer. There is a special mechanic to figure out as well, which is cool! And following the story makes it much better too, it's nice learning the backstory of the place instead of just randomly doing puzzles. The handwriting on those books is a bit hard to read though.
We got softlocked from the knight/sword puzzle because when we try to put the sword down it just disappears through the world. It's also easy to just fall through the world too. The game is just way more buggy than the first.
It's very difficult to make an asymmetrical puzzle game that is also fair. Most times it is lopsided and one person has it clearly easier than the other - not the case with this game. Very good balance with different enough mechanics on either side that you get to enjoy both. It also added replay value by making you be able to play both sides of the story and add a perfect "good" ending!
PREFERABLY do this with a friend, tho; It's just that much more fun that way, but honestly it is not a stressful game by any means. And definitely and improvement over its first entry.
Me and matey were here too.
Game good, we enjoy. you buy and play.
Much fun.
Some screaming with each other may happen...
But that just this series' standard gameplay loop.
This was a good step up from the first game in the series. It kept that same great atmosphere, but the puzzles had a much more satisfying challenge level to them and because of that it had more replay value when swapping roles as there was a lot less memorisation one could use to complete things. Overall really fun game.
8/10
Overall this is definitely a step up from the first game. I found the puzzles were a lot more challenging and fun than the previous title and I thought they were overall more creative. I still wish these games were a little longer but they are still a fun experience regardless. I give this game a 8/10
Finished the game with bugs lol but its a good game
Love the series very enjoyable puzzles, not to hard but not too easy
The worst part of the We Were Here series.
The UI is terrible and complicated.
The riddles make you argue a lot with your partner, and the maze puzzle was an absolute nightmare for us.
After all the frustration and effort we put in to reach the end, we couldn’t escape together—only one player could—because we had to find and activate all the levers hidden throughout the game. That was the most disappointing part.
Great co-op puzzle game, your experience with it will depend on your partner and your ability to communicate.
Like the previous We Were Here but slightly longer and a bit harder.
Also I had no crashes or anything during my time with it unlike other reviews.
Second game in the We Were Here saga, and compared to the first, there are some improvements, especially on the gameplay and puzzle side. You don't need a lot of commitment, just enough to have fun and experience a slight thrill of “running for time.”
I recommend starting the saga from the first We Were Here.
I liked the atmosphere and the puzzles (even tho a couple of them pissed me off sometimes), but the fact that one little mistake at the end basically kills your entire run and you have to go through the entire game from the start ruins it for me. This could've been avoided easily + there are some other bugs, and the fact that we already had to restart at some point because the pick chapter feature bugged out just adds to it
It's hard to say I recommend this game because there were some really frustrating puzzles but I do think there were more good than bad. It's mostly just hard to see it since the frustration over confusing puzzles starts to overtake the memories of the less frustrating normal puzzles.
The worst it gets is with some symbols that are really hard to see before interacting with them in the ritual room and the most manageable annoying puzzles involves excessive running around with the stain glass windows.
Also the secret ending is kind of annoying since there's no way to backtrack to search for levers without replaying the entire game.
I think its still a good game despite my grievances but is definitely not the strongest entry in the series.
saves are broken so be warned. Apart from that its good.
Fantastic puzzle game series to play with a friend.
DOES NOT EVEN WORK. UNPLAYABLE. CAN NOT GET PAST MENU SCREEN.
Again: Another great experience from the "We Were Here" series. Great puzzles, sometimes a tad frustrating at the first attempt, but all doable. A wonderful co-op experience. Negligable storyline, but it doesn't matter. Making or not making the last achievement is a thrilling experience :)
Nothing Builds trust like being locked in a castle while shouting totally unhelpful instructions at each other
Finally, a version where there is "another way" (the whole game had to be played all in one sitting and without failing any of the timed puzzles in order to trigger this ending). My favorite game in the We Were Here series. 7.5/10
Great collaborative gameplay. Recommend the series lowkey.
how do you manage to make a better free game, this is awful. it soft locked me and my friend at the stairwell like a million times. i had to restart my game like 4 times and then it just kept happening. THIS SHOULDNT HAPPEN. why cant you just respwan in the same room as the puzzle why do you have to walk to the door for it to open because guess what. IT DIDNT OPEN! then when we finally got the puzzle through it didnt save at the checkpoint and we died so WE HAD TO BE SOFT LOCKED AGAIN!! HOW LOVELY. also when i restarted the game it wouldnt let me start at the stairwell checkpoint or any other checkpoint for that matter, only the start! so nice playing the same shit show multiple times to get soft locked again! WE DIDNT EVEN DO ANYTHING IT JUST STOPPED OPENING THE DOOR FOR ME! NO MATTER WHAT I DID IT WOULDNT FIX IT YIPPEE! i hate you and this game was so dissapointing.
The other games in this series are good. Particularly WWH Together and WWH Forever. The first one is just okay. This one is just buggy which makes it not fun to play. The biggest bug I encountered was that you can't save the game. It just doesn't work.
So, this game is okay if you're fine with completing it in one sitting, but otherwise, just skip it and play the others, it only adds a bit of lore to the series.
We Were Here Too is a regression from the original in almost every way, setting it up as the low point of the franchise so far. While the visuals continue to evolve into the characterful style we’d come to love in future entries, the sound design takes a nosedive, as does the puzzle design, which feels bland, flat and somewhat repetitive. Lacking the sense of atmosphere and immersion that makes other entries such fun, there’s the feel of a workplace teambuilding in We Were Here Too – sure, you’re working together, but it’s because you have to, not because you especially enjoy it. Thankfully, I know that future titles soar to significant heights, and I’m thrilled that the team at Total Mayhem Games found their groove with time.

Mostly as expected for a co-op puzzle game except for that one room where you needed to somehow identify items that pretty much looked identical.
I liked this game a lot except for the massive glitch where the peasant could glitch through the floor after the maze level and just walk on Lava for two minutes while waiting for the lava to rise and kill the player.
The game is broken. We experience three major bugs and the last one made it so we couldn't continue. So we're stuck on room 2, unable to keep playing and this is a bug that was reported as far back as 2021 and is still in the game. Level select is also inaccessible for many players, myself and my teammate included and commands settings are broken. It sucks because the game has been fun so far but I can't recommend you spend your money on something that contains unpatched game-breaking bugs that could prevent you from finishing the game and cause immense frustrating.
I like the we were here series, but this one seems to be very buggy and frustrating due to it; There's a bit where the door has to trigger for the third room and it seems to not do it all the time. Then certain pieces to your puzzles fall through the floor and don't respawn. I recommend the other games in the series! Just not this one : /
Fun game to play with a friend or partner! Puzzles are fun and are not too challenging at the same time. Definitely would recommend to others.
I love bullying my friends for not being able to solve the puzzle even though it requires both of us to figure it out solve it in the first place.
Great game would recommend
Played for multiple sessions, game kept crashing which ruined what was an amazing sequel. Going to try the next installment because the first game was very enjoyable.
The WWH games are some of the best co-op puzzle game that you can play. Always new riddles, challenging enough, and generally great fun.
Good second part to the game. Lore expanded a bit more. Glad to see the evolution. Fun puzzles. Still simple ish but fun
After playing through this complete series (except the latest standalone) and finishing the story, I highly recommend these co-op puzzle games. They were a ton of fun and really made us think! There were plenty of moments to remember, from those a-ha moments that make you feel good, to some puzzles that made you laugh a little along the way. In our opinion, the 2nd and 3rd game in the series were the best, with the 4th one feeling a little too drawn out, but the story is well worth it to play through all 4 in order!

My best friend & I have played the entire We Were Here series, and him & I have loved every single one! They get increasingly more challenging & longer with each new game, which was awesome! Might drive you nuts if you can’t communicate well with your co-op partner though, you need one another from start to finish! We have tried to find similar series that are just as good and nothing has even come remotely close! We are going to run through them all again simply because we miss the game play! HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are looking for a CO-OP puzzle series!
The switch system is really dumb because the game provides no replay value. You cannot beat the game on the first run-through and that is terrible game design. You're forced to go through at least another run of the game to catch one of the switches. The puzzles themselves are fine but not a lot of thinking - just communication and waiting on someone to do most of it rather than proper async working together which is why it is super annoying to go through the game again.
We Were Here Too was a good sequel to the first game in the series. It does not take long to complete in totality but for a $10 game I think it is definitely worth purchasing and playing!
Additionally this game was pretty simple to 100% and is a good pick up from a completionist standpoint.
Much better than the first game, much less buggy too!
Both roles are interesting this time around, last game one role was very one-note and the other was doing most of the work.
Puzzles are of decent complexity, and reallly REEEEEAAAALLLLYYYY stresses detailed and timely communication.
The maze that makes one player give google maps directions to the other is definitely inspired by some medieval form of torture.
The first was way better than this one. This one is crap.
Half of the puzzles were ok, and the other half were horrible. The first one ended with a really clever lore themed puzzle that built tension and suspense. This one is a ****ing shape lock that you cannot possibly communicate without screen sharing. It has no emotional impact, there is no fear or suspense. It has no over arching story. They even reuse the cutscene from the first game, when one of you cant possibly be there because they're stuck at the bottom of an elevator shaft. What a joke.
I honestly don't know if I'm even gonna try any of the sequels if this is how bad they're gonna be.
Amazing game to play with a friend, a little bugged, but it is good
A worthy sequel to the first part of the game ('We Were Here'). If you haven't played it yet, I suggest you start, it's free! 'We were here too' is longer and a little more difficult, with some new mechanics added. Highly recommended for those who played the first part :)
As the successor to "We Were Here", We Were Here Too offers another enjoyable co-op experience that challenges teamwork and communication skills. While the puzzles are more intricate and some lack the intuitive clarity of the first game, they still provide a rewarding sense of accomplishment once solved. Be prepared to face a few moments of frustration, as not all puzzles are as self-explanatory as one might hope.
In terms of length, the game is slightly longer than its predecessor, taking around 2-3 hours to complete on a first playthrough. Though I personally prefer the charm of the first installment, We Were Here Too is still a strong follow-up that I'd recommend for fans of the original or anyone seeking a unique and engaging co-op adventure.
