Golf and explosives!
Seemed like a fun game of mini golf... till the game froze and crashed. Oh well, I guess. I found the experience to be inefficient with feelings of superness. Enough said. 7/10 It has achievements? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Got the game at the "recommendation" of gamer friends - told me it was great! Super fun. I can't get it to play Hole 1 without it crashing. Don't waste your money. Not worth it.
I had so much fun playing this game. It's simply complex. Use mines to blast a ball into a hole a set distance away. However, too much of an explosion could send your ball off the course. Not enough, and you might miss the target with the same result. The physics are pretty interesting. I see the release date was 2018. If they ever decided to go back and make some new additions, like more holes, different obstacles, and multiplayer, that would be awesome.
The game itself is fine. It's another of those kind of frustrating physics games that are fun to play around with for a while but don't really offer enough to keep you coming back for too long. You already know if you like those sorts of games, and this is another competent, fairly polished version of that.
Why I don't recommend it is that there's a fatal error where every time I install the game I can play it exactly once. The next time I try to play it gives me a fatal error window from some kind of Unreal Engine side process thing. After much mucking around even trying to get the game to run, I found that I had to go into the file structure and uninstall an Unreal Engine component to stop the consistent crash. I found it in a Steam forum from 2019 where other people were having the same issue, and yet it still hasn't been fixed in 2023. So yeah, it's not going to get fixed obviously.
I'm sorry, but if you release a game on Steam that fundamentally doesn't work for a fairly large section of users, then I'm not going to recommend your mediocre physics game. Play something else, don't waste your time just trying to get it to even run correctly.
The kind of game that you'd watch a streamer struggle with but not actually play yourself.
The game seems fun, but it crashes a couple minutes after launch. I ran the extra unreal 4 setup. It didn't help.

It's been a bit since I played this game, so I may not be remembering some things perfectly. However, from what I remember the game was really just okay. Not good, not bad, just okay. The level designs are interesting, but there's hardly any point to replaying it since it's just the same few holes over and over again.
If they add multiplayer, I'll recommend this game, but as it stands it's not really worth the 5 dollars it costs.
it starts out easy, which is fine, but after you do it, there's nothing in the game that makes me want to do it again. fun concept. it looked cool enough, but playing wasn't that fun, tbh. maybe with a bunch of drunk pals this game gets better? who knows. i've already got 6 lifetimes worth of games installed on my pc so i don't see myself spending much, if any, more time with this one.
It's a great game! There is dumb people saying that this thing or that thing isn't well designed... ffs the game is called super inefficient golf and they are hoping for a real golf game XDDD
You explode tiny bombs to move your golf ball, you make it fly until the terrain doesn't render anymore and hope you get a hole in one, 10/10 best game design ever
For 5 bucks if you like golf with you friends but its too linear for you, pick this game up. A lot of fun and you have to use just a bit more of your brain than in putt putt. I don't believe there is multi-player, which IMO I am okay with because i feel like it would take forever for one hole to go by with 4 people trying to line up their bombs perfectly. If they did add it i would assume they would have to change something up for it to be enjoyable, maybe not, who knows. Who know mines and golf balls went together so well?
Pretty good fun, hasnt had any updates tho which is disappointing
Remember the ending to Caddyshack? Someone took that, subtracted the kangaroo, and made it into a game. Oh, and Al Czervik was wrong.
The Good:
- It’s definitely a fun way to change up a game of golf.
- Place up to 16 explosives all over a giant golfball and set them off.
- The soundtrack is wacky golf music if I’ve ever heard it.
- Cheating isn’t really cheating. If you can figure out how to land a trickshot in this, you earned that win.
- Explosion-based physics really opens doors to interesting playstyles and experimentation.
The Neutral:
- 2 worlds, 18 holes each.
The Bad:
- The game is short.
- The game could do a better job at explaining things.
Pro Tips:
- The bombs all have the same amount of force. The different colors are just so you can set them off at different times.
[*]You can place 1-4 of each colored explosive anywhere on the golfball or other bombs and set them off when you want.
The game is already fine as it is, and I would say it’s worth the regular $5; however, it has a lot of untapped potential. It would be nice if the devs continued to add content to the game and really went over the top with it. When you have golfballs strapped with 16 explosives, why not go crazy with the levels? Multiplayer and workshop would make this game a lot more interesting, but like I said, it’s fine as is.
A fun game to play as each hole is a different challenge and there are many ways to boost your score and ranking by using different combinations of bombs and tactics after you have conquered the holes initially using the most obvious route.
fun and interesting idea for minigolf that adds its own unique twist that requires a different type of skill in order to master.
It is interesting to see that the bombs add their own weight and inertia to the ball which makes it all the more difficult. While it isn't golf it it is certainly worth the 5 bucks and even on sale it is far more worth it for a couple hours of fun.
3 things I don't like is how the ball feels floaty, the camera controls are bad and the bombs are not represented by say a club or some overall bomb power. Like driver would be the most powerful while putter would be the weakest instead of colour bombs and hope the player knows. I assume green is weakest and red is strongest but it sure doesn't feel like it sometimes.
The game pretty much plays the way it looks. You get up to 4 sets of mines that you can stack up to 4 each (for a total or 16 simultaneous mines placed on a ball) per shot attempt. Total mines per hole is also limited in case you just can't get the ball in the hole, but it's generally dozens of mines per hole.
Overall, this game is a lot of mindless fun and worth a few dollars buy-in.
+ Pretty game/art/graphics
+ Solid physics
+ Good sound
- Many of the holes have a bunch of assets that never come into play (for me). In fact, I couldn't really tell much about the features of any given hole - the game pretty much allows you to bypass everything with well-placed mines, and this is a must if you hope to get a low (high?) score.
- There's just one, 18-hole course. I would love to be able to play more holes, or maybe offer a course creator feature, but it's hard to complain for the price point.
- No multiplayer, though there is a global leaderboard. This doesn't feel very well fleshed out, however, since you can restart any hole from the beginning with a single button press, allowing people to "game" the leaderboard.
Don't let the minor, nitpicky negatives hold you back. This is a good game. Definitely worth a play.
It's a lovely little game for its price. The main focus is that you'll be playing golf, but with tactically executed explosions instead of a club. You can set up 4 different colors of bombs which correlate to 4 different sets of explosions. You can also stack bombs of the same color for larger blasts. Still all comes together into a pretty fun physics puzzler.
The big pro of this game is its unique control mechanic. Blowing the ball where you want it isn't terribly intuitive at first, but it's exciting to see how well you'll pick up the skill by the end. Before you know it you'll be chaining explosions with the lightest of touches, and blasting balls straight into the hole, skipping half the course in the process.
The game also has a neat little leaderboard. Score is totalled between bonuses for consecutive seconds without touching the ground, hole score, and the number of mines you used. Theorycrafting and grinding out a better score on the holes adds replayability where the game lacks in content.
The controls are an rough patch for this game. The live gamplay is mostly fine. You place the mines and then detonate them with one of the number keys. The problem is that mines are a bit cumbersome to place. The camera is slow moving, feels a little wonky (possibly some kind of acceleration going on?), and is stuck on horizontal inversion. This makes moving around the ball to place your mines more tedious than it needs to be. You can fine tune your movement around the ball by using the arrow keys instead, and that's basically essential. The arrow key movement is slow by the necessity of being a binary input though. If they adjusted the camera controls tied to the mouse, and also designed a way to snap to certain positions on the ball, then that would go a long way.
My last small gripe is that the physics are a little weird. The ball only starts to rotate when it hits a surface, which is a convenient, but maybe unnecessary with the option to slow the game down availible. That aside though, the ball will occasionally decide not to spin when you hit a surface. That sort of inconsistency is bad for a game with so much forward planning. I've also had my end horizontal position change on repeated strokes, despite using the arrow keys to set my mines without moving around the ball horizontally. I'm not sure if there's a bit of randomness in this physics engine, but if there is then it isn't as healthy as it could be.
To put everything shortly: The game is good, but unpolished. Its unique core mechanic satisfies a meticulous itch that I didn't know needed scratching. That alone is enough to sell the game for $5. It could use more levels, some tuning, and multiplayer would be swell, but it shows more than enough promise to invest in. I doubt you'll regret giving this game a shot.
Post edit: Two more small issues that I forgot to mention. The camera has a mind of its own sometimes, and would be better left entirely manual. The environments are also entirely disjointed and could use a little more elbow grease in making them feel grounded.
The game's scoring system (which is effectively the main focus of the game, being shown after every hole and compared against other players) is exceptionally poorly designed, encouraging players to get their ball into the air for as long and as often as possible instead of actually rewarding skilful play.
For example: you can easily get a hole in one on the first hole with only 3 bombs, netting around 3000 points in the process, however if you simply launch your ball directly into the air over and over again until you run out of bombs you can get upwards of 9000, as each 10 second airtime gives a bonus 1500 points.
Otherwise the game is reasonably fun but easy, most holes can be cleared on the first shot with only one or two clusters of bombs with a few retries.
Cool concept and a much more visually appealing game than similar games like Golf with Friends. The concept is almost too flexible allowing you to basically jetson your ball into the air and then blast it towards the hole often times circumventing the entire course. If you don't take that approach, you start to see how weird and floaty the physics are. Gravity is weak so your ball bounces like crazy yet somehow rolls like it's stuck in mud. The mines affect the weight of your ball and collide with the course which make things inconsistent. There's also no multiplayer which is the only reason anyone would really bother with this game.
Make it multiplayer, tweak the physics, give mines 0 mass and no collisions and you've got yourself a winner.
Exactly what it says on the tin. Set smallish explosives and launch your ball through an increasngly difficult minigolf course. Golf is suddenly fun! Or at least way less boring. Your swearing really *will* echo for miles around. So will the cries of amazement of whoever is watching you when you make an impossible shot. "How did you do that?" they'll say, mouths agape. "Oh, you know, " you'll smile modestly, "I calculated the trajectory taking the fans into account and..."
(In reality you have no idea which pixel you moved so that it worked this time and not the last 40+ times. But they don't have to know that.)
Fun game! If multiplayer is ever added, I will recommend it to my friends. Playing it alone was a little sad, but the game concept is great.
