This game may no longer be updated, but I sure love this game! Few sessions in training and boom, you've docked (never actually done that)! Get some free graphical mods and get ready for awesomeness! For planes, just understand the center of mass and thrust and aerodynamics, and make your baby fly! Definitely recommend this game over Juno: New Origins.

Super fun game but the graphics are dated at best. And the squeal was a complete failure.

I like to play the game in real time. So you need to set alarms to do course changes. It is so satisfying to achieve goals this way. Hard mode, not fast forward.

Great fun and a nice challenge. Game encourages you to learn from mistakes and overcome obstacles

it is fun, also you can go faster than light. just dont let jeb go onto the FTL rocket

best game so far a bit hard at the start though but its worth it.

So picture this; you have just spent countless hours planning and building a simple airplane to launch your kerbals on a worldwide tour of the two bases in the stock game. Once completing your master piece of an aerospace engineering, you load into the flight line just for the landing gear to bounce off the tarmac in a manner that attracts the kraken. To which you now have to bear witness to the utter spectacle that is the ragdoll physics as your craft and your kerbals get mauled by the invisible space monster. After watching the chaos ensue, you're given an after action report that tells you roughly what happened to your poor little plane that tells you that your engineering sucks. Undetterred, you go back to the hangar to replan and redesign your magnum opus. After another countless hours, you return to the flight line with your original crew that have seemingly recovered from their spaghetti like condition, however, they will forever be haunted by the kraken. The landing gear is calm this time as you throttle up your engines to max and turn off the brakes. Your craft and crew are now rolling as they slowly but surely start veering to the right off the runway; which would be fine if there wasn't a large hangar rapidly approaching. To your horror, you find out your nose landing gear is incapable of steering all too late as your craft hits the short hill before your doom. With fleeting hope, your crew desperately pulls back on the stick only to slam into the building from which the craft was born.

In this game, you must fight against your primal instinct to brutally incinerate these hideous little green gremlin "Kerbal" creatures by launching them into the sun. An interesting commentary on human nature

its good mods have kept it alive

I have a degree in Physics, but until I only really understood orbital mechanics when I played this game

I love this game so much I brought it in to my high school physics class. 10 years later, I'm still playing Kerbal Space Program. Do yourself a favor and buy this game. *DO NOT BUY KSP 2! IT IS A SCAM!

this is the game I've played the most. except probably gta on xbox. you can build a space program. its amazing. a lot of kerbals will die, and I feel bad for that, but I was doing my best.

one time I left Bill on Luna for 53 years, I also feel bad for that. But I got him home in the end

Best game since minecraft. If you are in school for aerospace engineering, this game is an absolute must. The amount that it can teach you about the concepts you will be learning in an intuitive fun format is crazy

never got the hang of career mode but sandbox with building planes and rockets is fun asf

This game keeps me entertained for hours. If you are wiling to spend brainpower on this amazing game, BUY IT!

Very fun! It was mind boggling at first but once you study and learn from tutorials(of course experience of failing 1M times) but its honestly a good game!

Amazing game, great modding capabilities, and amazing gameplay

Easily one of the best games ever made.
It used real physics, and logic.
I highly recommend that if you like spaceflight, you should buy this.
Lots of fun, designing and testing rockets is awesome.

it teaches you to be creative and you have to use the center of gravity and wing mass to have your ship to work I highly love this game!!!! play it

fun but hard to learn, interplanetary missions are difficult but once you understand it all it's so fun

It is a little bit difficult to get around in terms of the tutorial Although, The tutorial is helpful and the game's system itself has systems to help with my space journey, especially the transit maneuver thingy.

I got this game because I have a pretty big interest in astronomy and it's pretty much my main hobby.
I saw some screenshots that used the RSS mod and it looked really good, I've not tried RSS out yet, but I would really like to when I get better.
Anyways here are some pros and cons.
Pros:
- Very fun and kills a bunch of time
- Very rewarding
- Large mod community
- Frustrating (but in a good way)
- Not hard to run
Cons:
- No longer receiving updates because of the ksp2 garbage fire
- pretty boring visually (w/o mods)

Anyways, I think this game is totally worth it and very satisfying. When you finally manage to get a good orbit around Kerbin or other bodies, it's very satisfying.
Here are some mods that greatly improve the game:
- EVE
- Astronomer's visual pack
- Scansat

I use CKAN for modding and it works quite well.

Not even gonna lie - this is probably one of the best OG space games out there. Hugely recommend this game. The only thing it is missing is some colonization parts - but with mods you can achieve almost everything in this game if you wanted to!

This game is absolute peak simulator. And I don’t mean roblox grind game, I mean REAL simulator. The problem solving is amazing and the programmer inside me loves it, being able to turn back time and keep jeb imortal is amazing, I’ve barely scratched the surface of what this game has to offer and it’s absolute peak. I can already tell this will be a 100+ hour experience. This is the best ~21.50 I’ve ever not spent because my brother bought it for me. Get this before It goes off sale.

Kerbal Space ( Military ) Program

The game is incredibly good, but corporate greed destroyed the sequel and the development of this game too. Do not support the little capitalist pigs behind it.

After so many years this game is still peak, anything that the base game might be lacking is made up for (and then some) by all the wonderfull mods the community has made.
Pick it up doing a promotion (it usualy drops to 10$) and this is a 10/10 game.

Awesome game that can teach you the basics of orbital mechanics, lets you build rockets and explore the system and the mod community is huge and there are so many super cool mods that give you endless fun!

I absolutely love this game for a variety of reasons! It has a small learning curve to get into how to play and into higher level orbital mechanics but the game includes a training feature to help you learn. This game is absolutely beautiful aside from that and is a very nice challenge as every time you accomplish something there is a plethora of wild new things you can try! This game even has a lot of modding support making sure you'll never get bored!! I would recommend for sure!

best game ever a hour later i found you could mod it insane game 5 stars

where to start with this one. i got it years ago after seeing it on youtube as a young adult. i actually saw a simulator for the space shuttle. when i found out i couldnt run that on my pc at the time i eventually discovered this. bought it, crashed so many rockets i couldnt even begin to count. Frustrated many times over and over. But what kept me at it was the community. i learned about gravity turns. delta v. aspergus staging hohman transfers and so on. got to orbit. got to the mun. got to minmus. each achievement felt so satisfying i couldnt stop. the original team squad put their souls into this game. sure it has its flaws. some bugs like the kraken ripping your ship apart for clipping an antenna somewhere for asthetics for instance. But overall its solid and bugs like that are even less common now that the game is fully released. If your a space nerd or just love a bit of a challange of the mind. KSP def provides. Graphics even still hold up to this day without mods. with mods it can look better than the $h!t Show that is ksp2. o7

exploding rockets and stranding kerbals in space is so much fun

its very fun,just don't try to install mods on steam deck,its way to complicated

great game, though i recommend doing some of the tutorials before you start building rockets if you're new to this. my main problem with it is the lack of clear goals. there is a whole solar system to explore, but after a while landing on yet another moon or planet gets old, and so you need to invent things to do, such as make space stations or just do things better. if you find this game is not your style you can always uninstall, you don't need to be a rocket scientist for that :)

This is truly one of the best games ive ever played. ive really enjoyed this game so far, it has a lot of stuff available to do and a lot of planets to explore, especially with mods. When i got the game I thought I wouldn't be able to make it anywhere like the mun, even less Jool, but its not as hard as i thought it was. It just might need some practice, and understanding of Orbital mechanics, but anyone could make it interplanetary or even interstellar (with mods) if they really tried hard enough, and understood the game good enough.

I spent thousands of hours on the non steam version of this game, however I could not get the DLC or any mods to work with the non steam version

i spent $64 to get the DLC for this game
even then it is still worth more as a game that the amount that i spent on it
10/10 by far my favorite game of all time, i cant wait to put in thousands more later on

this game is very fun unlike ksp2 because i cant play ksp2 because it would always crash and it will have no dev every again, ksp1 is the way to go :D

Perfect game to mess around with even if your an expert in physics or completely fresh

If you like having a good time, don't buy this.

If you want to learn the fundamentals of space travel and occasionally spend way too much efford to nuke some poor minion into the sun, this is your game.

This has to be one of the best games ive ever played hands down, worth every cent best space flight sim you can get right now.

I'm roughly 1700h in, and I *still can't get enough of this game*! This has been my best Steam investment ever, and with the available mods out there, it just keeps getting better. Every completed mission truly feels like an accomplishment. Forget about that KSP2 cr*p, and stick to this classic. Space fans will NOT be disappointed. :)

Absolute classic of a game and can replace KSP 2 100% with mods since they're built on the same exact engine.
