Kerbal Space Program features three gameplay modes. In Science Mode, perform space experiments to unlock new technology and advance the knowledge of Kerbalkind. In Career Mode, oversee every aspect of the space program, including construction, strategy, funding, upgrades, and more. In Sandbox, you are free to build any spacecraft you can think of, with all parts and technology in the game.
Key Features
- Build spaceships, rockets, and vehicles using any imaginable combination of parts, each with their own function that will affect the way your spacecraft behaves.
- Take full control over your ship’s setup to execute complex flight maneuvers.
- Manage your Kerbal crewmembers, including hiring, training, and sending them into space to become heroes.
- Discover a whole star system with unique moons and planets, exploring detailed terrain at a vast scale.
- Send your Kerbal crew outside their ships for “extra-vehicular” activities.
- Dock spacecraft together to construct space stations, massive starships, and surface bases on new planets.
- Use satellites to scan terrain and find biomes and other anomalies.
- Set up communications networks to communicate between your spacecraft and Kerbal Space Center.
- Research and develop new technologies to extract valuable information and resources from all over the solar system, and much more!
Try out the many mods created by the Kerbal Space Program community!

This game is very fun! It is also a great hands-on approach to learning about space systems and orbital manoeuvres.
One of the most addicting space sims out there, and the joy of exploration and a mission being a success never gets old. Squad is also an example of a great game dev team by embracing their community's feedback, creations, memes and numerous mods.
Perfect game for making Spaceship and understanding the mechanic to explore the solar system
its very good with mods, and if your bad at the game use alt+windows+f12
It is really fun to use all the mods and learn the physics behind how rockets are make.
Has a lot of potential for a completed game. But besides the graphics compared to Kerbal 2. These game types are always fun.
Kerbal Space Program is my favorite game, hands down. I've done most everything you can in the game, but the best part of the game is the ship building and design. Highly recommend!
It's good. Very good. It is so good that the successor game doesn't even come close. It would be desperate to know this game exists in another universe, but fortunately I am in that universe.
I have played this game since version 0.19, before decouplers functioned at all, and there was a single pod. I have spent over 150 hours in KSP via Epic Store, and countless more before official release. Yet, the studio was closed. Strange, that, no?
Nice single player game. Good physics, and very educational.
this game is my fav space game, it has good grafics whatever the thing is called, pritty cool parts, this game is like pls play on me all day it just cracks me up :)
super fun game, but its hard to understand on how to get in orbit and its also tricky to get to other planets.
Absolutely amazing game that I just keep coming back to. The base game is an addictive and fun way to learn about spaceflight. The mods and modding community however takes this game to a whole other level!
Played this since college and now I work in spacecraft operations for a living. I like to think my hours spent playing this helped. Fully recommend this game to anyone.
KSP has been around for a while now - over a decade! But that gives it an edge as a mature, well-rounded sandbox game with plenty of options for different playstyles, interests, and explosions. Build rockets, build planes, build massive space stations that get torn apart under the strain of their own mass (and a physics engine that's just a little bit buggy even after all this time, but generally great). And for those who feel a little bored or underwhelmed with the vanilla experience, there are mods - glorious mods - that transform the game in an amazing and divergent number of ways. Please, do yourself a favor, buy KSP and learn how wild and beautiful orbital mechanics can really be.
Great game for science lovers with good physics and gameplay mechanics.
I seem to spend more time designing rockets and planes than actually flying missions.
It's a trap.
I love the whole premise of the game and I actually had fun! I built a cool spaceship my first time playing and got into orbit and was close to the moon.... then before landing as I accelerate the game just, crashed. Tried restarting it, Crashed. I play games on the highest graphics with no problems so I lowered them to be safe, crashed. Tried to look for help on forums or support, nothing. Tried to use steam's file integrity tool, nothing.
This game is amazing, but the developers haven't polished it to a point of fixing crashes, bugs, and common complaints over years. It's honestly infuriating to see such a good and successful game go to waste because of a few bugs and errors gone unpolished by the developers and staff. This is seriously such a let down and it costed like $60 absolutely ridiculous.
Is a lot of fun! exactly whats on the tin, can be a bit of a grind but if you're up for it its definitely worth it
Still one of the most fun realistic/newtonian rocket building/exploration games there is. I never played KSP2 (I was waiting for full release, thankfully), and sunk hours into playing this game with heavily modded savefiles.
The modding community is still thriving. I will warn that with the game IP now changing hands, there's a high likelihood that much of the content on the official forums could be lost, which could be a big blow to the modding community, but most modders still have pages on Spacedock and Github.
Overall: Highly recommended to any fans of space exploration, rocket engineering, or near-future science fiction.
Its got a steep learning curve. Really steep. First rocket is easy to do, but won't get very far, and from there it takes ages to learn how to do anything. I've has some experience in similar games before (Spaceflight Simulator, etc.), and still can't make it past Duna. Despite this, the game is awesome, and if you put in effort, it is very rewarding.
cant even put into words how much love i have for this game. i wish everyone would play it.
also DONT BUY KSP2, THE SECOND INSTALLMENT OF THIS GAME. ITS FRAUDULENT. KSP1 with mods is the way to go. 100% look up what happened to the studio before thinking about buyig KSP2
Wildly realistic simulator and great for teaching kids basics of space travel physics
DM me for a zip file containing my mod list. 1300 hours playtime alot of good mods
green beans launch themselves into space with overly complicated death machines, great for stranding a green bean on a far away planet where nobody can come save them.
if you download one mod.. there's no going back.
This game holds up well, I especially recommend it to anyone previously waiting for KSP 2 to play KSP. I hope someone revives the concept or builds on it in some meaningful way because KSP 2 got done so dirty, it's tough to imagine there won't be a spiritual successor and I look forward to seeing it! Classic/10.
Super fun game to experiment on! super fun to build and land ships on each planets.
very fun game to play, can be quite hard and frustrating when you crash land your rocket on the moon after 1 hour of planning, building and flying. but thats what makes this fun. the science mode should have sattelites that can collect data over time to make it easier to progress
apart from the fact it gets boring after a while, great game. truly perfect. im on a mac and i barely have lag even with DECENT graphics.
Sim, mas é um jogo bem difícil, mas é divertido e o mais legal e soltar um satélite e captar informções
Without doubt the best game with relation to space. The game educates players effortlessly over time in a manner through which you continuously want to learn more and more.
I've been playing this game for a long time. Genuinely so much fun to play in a serious or unserious manner. I would say I have some frustration with the ship building parts sometimes but that is small compared to the genuine enjoyment this game brings. 10/10
if you don't it at first don't worry it's literally rocket science.
10/10
> Kerbal finally gets in orbit around his home planet with a 30 part ship.
> No more fuel
> Proceeds to push ship with jetpack
> No more fuel
> His friends launch a rescue mission without advanced orbital mechanics.
> Rescue_ship_3 enters the same orbit
> No more fuel
No more fuel
love this game. for anyone looking for a some what complex game this is for you, my opinnion is its a great game i have made multible fun things and its just fun. notes: this game is complex to master and play great, lots of physics like Thrust to weight ration, center of mass, center of lift, aerodynamics and more. and thank you for reading this.
I've played for hundreds of hours and can honestly say, do not purchase as of 9/3/2024 til they work out whatever they did to mess up my DLC, I can't open any saved games for lack of critical parts from DLC packs I purchased, but suddenly don't register.
basically learn basic rocket science then like build a shitcan rocket launch it guide it for 15 mins realized you fucked up a later stage reset fix it somehow break everything else get angry finally do the mission run out of fuel on the way back now you have a space station 10/10 game would send jeb into the sun again
Should you buy KSP 1 in 2024? Why not play KSP 2?
First of all, it works and it's a finished game. Yes, KSP 2 has a more refined craft building UI and better graphics (if you can afford the graphics card), but KSP 1 has science, money, and a metric ton of community mods that make the game so much better and also more beautiful.
So, here's what you should do:
1. Buy KSP 1.
2. Download CKAN (the mod manager). No, you don't need an account like other questionable mod managers, just download it.
3. Install mods of your choice.
My mod recommendations:
Functional
- Science! Continued - Shows you when an experiment is available without needing to find the part.
- BetterBurnTime - Shows you more accurate display on your maneuver burn times.
- Community Tech Tree - Gives you a vastly expanded tech tree (check the supported mods in the relationships tab).
- Contract Configurator - Lets you set up contracts (check the community contract packs for a lot more missions).
- Docking Cam - Makes docking less of a hassle.
- Ferram Aerospace Research Continued - Realistic aerodynamics.
- Kerbal Engineer Redux - Gives you lots of info about your vessel while building and in-flight.
- Kerbal Joint Reinforcement Continued - No more noodle rockets.
- MechJeb 2 - Maneuver automation tool to take the grind out of things you have already mastered in a canonical, non-immersion breaking way.
- Outer Planets Mod - More planets.
- TAC Life Support - Kerbals now need food, water, and electricity. (For advanced players only.)
Visual
- Astronomer's Visual Pack + the texture pack.
- Environmental Visual Enhancements Redux
- Planetshine
- Real Plume
- TUFX
