Strange, somewhat trippy graphics. Terrible soundtrack music. OK sound effects. Animation that varies from reasonably OK to pretty terrible and, er, that's it.
No real game play, just wander about the place looking at the graphics.
I wasn't sure what to expect from this, but I guess I did expect something.
I can only assume the developer got bored and so didn't bother finishing it.

Honestly, the only thing I have to say about Vaporwave Simulator is that the person who made this piece of shit is a low-life white-bred chicken-shit motherfucker who deserves to burn in the deepest part of Hell. If you want to make a game that people will like, put some fucking time and effort into it and not rush the goddamn thing! This game is something I would never touch with a 10 foot pole and I just want a motherfuckering refund for the $1.05 I spent on this worthless, awful, poorly made, rushed piece of fucking shit! Do not buy this "game." It is so terrible.
I put it on the lowest settings and it was still super laggy, poorly optimized, I wish I hadn't wasted $1 on this. Don't do the same.
even on low graphics it still is very very slow. i've never had a problem with similar games on this computer.

I came expecting a meme game, and it somehow went below my expectations.
I stayed up till a late hour and was in "even the worst memes will make me burst out laughing" mode.
But this game is utter garbage.
I've seen VR chat levels with better and more detail. The only way this would be with it would be if it was fee. And still I'd probably delete it becuase of how garbage this program truly is.

Ok, I bought this game Just yesterday, even though its about a meme from 2016, and it has its pros and cons. The graphics are good and the old statues are really well rendered. The Music is good too, and kind of sets the mood for the whole game. However, the cons of the game stand out more than the pros. the game clams to be a Simulation Game, but it's actuallly an Open-World game. In some places there is an over abundence of palm trees, and that sometimes covers up the whole framerate, and you can even fall of thhe map in some places. Also, the movement of your head is mapped derectly to thhe most. Theres also a sensitivity bare for some reason. Ok, this part, I don't know if its just me but I press the excape key to leave the game. In othe words, I have to turn of my computer turn it back on and then go to the little game tab and hit the x on the tiny game window thing. to turn of the game. And finally, theres the game it self. As the commentor Triton has said you need a god-like PC to run the game, and that's pretty true. Everytime I play the game it lags, and the lag is so terrible it ruins the whole game. In conclusion, this game may look pretty, but in that prettiness, there is lag. Lots and lots of lag.
Its not very well optimized but absolutely worth the 99 cents. Would buy again, infact I'm going to buy it again now as a gift for a friend.

Congratulations, you successfully managed to ruin my day.
Never before has a Videogame made me so mad in the first 5 mins.
Don't get me wrong here. I like the Vaporwave Artstyle.
However, the fact that this pile of shit managed to get on Steam, + with a cost of 99 cents, makes me rage.
This is literally just a test map created in 30min ~ 1hr & it's not even optimised, resulting in a very bad performance.
This definitely doesn't deserve to be on Steam.
I was actually looking forward to this game, even if this is just a simple meme game, but there are just so many problems with this that it's simply not worth playing. At all. Not even for a minute. It's not even worth the $0.99 to buy this game because you simply won't enjoy your time playing it.
I know you're expecting some meta, self-aware, funny meme game full of your favorite jokes about ａｅｓｔｈｅｔｉｃｓ and Ｆｉｊｉ Ｗａｔｅｒ but this is none of those things. You will not enjoy this game.
Bad points
- Audio is incredibly loud and distorts. Normally have my volume set to 30-40 in my mixer but I had to lower it to 3 for this game. The audio is LOUD.
- Framerate issues. I normally run modern games at 60-120fps but the absolute best I was able to get on the lowest graphical settings was 10fps, often lower than that. It's so incredibly unoptimized it's baffling.
- The different graphical settings don't do anything
- There is no pause menu. You have to press alt-tab to exit the game.
- The game map is unfinished (?). The entire play area is a square and you can fall off the edge into the skybox, forcing you to restart the game.
- Copyright infringement, stolen assets galore

Vaporwave Simulator is a small and very laggy 3D map that you can explore in about 20 minutes. I guess I was hoping for one of those weird exploration games but it is really not the case. It is nothing like LSD: Dream Emulator. That game had secrets, replay value, goal and lots of content. Vaporwave Simulator is just one map full of presumably reused assets. Well, I like the song but did he make it? I probably would appreciate the joke if the game did not run so poorly. Maybe if there were other locations to explore I could justify it. I can appreciate an ambient exploration game but this is just a crapy 3D map. There is no hidden meaning here or any "unique" artistic vision.
This game I cannot describe, because you get feelings no man has ever experienced since the before time, when dinosuars drank the waters of Figi and cavemen drove towards the sun on one of those Flinstone cars.
I cried and felt a warm smile as I walked out of the dark tube thing, this was truely art, sure there wasnt much, but thats what games aren't about, its about the experience. The music was fantastic, and have just added it to my playlist as one of my best songs.

This was truely a masterpeice and I am looking forward to seeing them in the Game awards ceremony for best adventure/action.

Something that belongs on itch.io for free. Just a low effort Unity engine world with zero objectives. The palm tree mass kills your framerate, you can fall off the side of the map, the mouse capture doesn't work (at least for me) and the distorted Macintosh Plus grates on you hard almost instantly.
Just go play the Broken Reality demo.
First off, this game looks really fun and I enjoyed the music and theme. (the music is amazing.) -classic vaporwave
BUT YOU NEED A GOD-LIKE PC TO RUN IT...
I have a pretty decent PC and I average like 15 fps.
Optimize it and I'll gladly change my review. Also if you need a tester hit me up dev haha.
