VR Support
Take your tabletop gaming to a whole new level in virtual reality with the HTC Vive & Oculus Rift! And what's more, both VR and non-VR players alike can play together in the same game room!
About the Game
Create your own original games, import custom assets, automate games with scripting, set up complete RPG dungeons, manipulate the physics, create hinges & joints, and of course flip the table when you are losing the game. All with an easy to use system integrated with Steam Workshop. You can do anything you want in Tabletop Simulator. The possibilities are endless!
Endless Games
Tabletop Simulator has it all. The base game includes 15 classics like Chess, Poker, Jigsaw Puzzles, Dominoes, and Mahjong. Additionally, there are thousands of community created content on the Workshop. If you’re the tabletop gaming type, we include an RPG Kit which has tilesets & furniture, as well as animated figurines that you can set up and battle with your friends, with even more options in the Chest. There’s even an option for Game Masters so they can control the table!

Create Games
If you’re into creativity and prototyping, you can easily create your own games by importing images onto custom boards & tables, create custom decks, import 3D models, create scripts, and much more. You can choose to upload your creations on the Steam Workshop or share them privately with your friends.

Fun For All Ages
Everyone can play Tabletop Simulator! Play a classic board game with grandma, have poker night with the guys, or start your epic RPG adventure with your crew. Play almost any tabletop game you can think of! Being a multiplayer-focused game, up to 10 players can play at any given time.

DLCs
Our downloadable content (DLCs) are different from other games, as we partner with developers and publishers to bring their games into Tabletop Simulator. Each DLC is custom created with high quality assets and special themes that match their games. And best of all, only the host needs to own the DLC for everyone at the table to play.

Key Features:
- Online sandbox with unlimited games to play how you want.
- Multiplayer physics with objects that collide and interact just how you would expect.
- Create your own mods easily with full Steam Workshop support and 3D model importing.

Fun by yourself, even more fun with friends, if you are into tabletop games of any kind, best purchase ever
Do you like tabletop games?
Are you unable to play with your friends in real life for various reasons like not having the games, not having time, your friends living thousands of miles away or just being too lazy to meet up?
Do you not mind this being just a simulation of a game instead of the actual game?
If you've answered yes to these questions, then you're in the right place, you will find all you need here.
Tabletop Simulator is exactly what it says on the tin. While the game is bare by itself, the community has brought thousands of games, both originals and existing tabletop games through the Workshop, you can play games like Catan, Poker, Chess, Dominion and many many more that I will not name out of convenience.
The game is usually played multiplayer since singleplayer does not have bots. You will join a lobby hosted by someone through P2P, so your ping will be based on the distance of your network to the host. You will download the simulated games through the host or manually through the workshop and boom, you're playing now.
The DLCs exist to support the developers more than anything and while there is a VR, it's pretty half-baked, although from what I've seen, it has been patched a few times so it is playable. Most often than not, you will use the workshop for whatever you wish to play.
Great to play with friends, good for warhammer, good for D&D, good for magic the gathering, just really good for any game that takes getting a lot of people into the same room for. Highly recommend, worth it's full price tag and goes on sale often. Great game to pick up.
It's still, to this day, the best VTT. No other program comes closer to the feel of bein at table. Is it janky? For sure. I love it all the same.
Not perfect, but a good tool for table top games when you can't be face-to-face to play.
Literally one of the most fun purchases I've ever made. the amount of options in there, plus the community creating some of the best games i've ever played. Seriously, it's so easy, and it genuinely one of the best games on steam. could not recommend enough
Playing MTG with the bros is legit a 10/10 experience. Thanks TTS. And thanks modding community.
Great way to play DnD, as well as Poker, Cards against Humanity, and just about any other Table top game you can think of. Well worth the money provided you're playing it with others.
update: it works now.
its not letting me do anything at the moment. will update as soon as it does.
i cant start a server, join a server, nothing,
Awesome, allows me to play almost any tabletop game if its on the mod workshop or if I wanna make it myself!
Works for board games, but there is no CPU players unless scripted.
Tabletop Simulator opened up the opportunity to have so many good memories with friends. I can't imagine life without it.
This is a wonderful game! I've been able to play so many games with my friends that i normally can't afford. Honestly I love prototyping games in this software.
I bought it to play a RPG table with my friend. I kept using it for a long time. So, all i can say is... This software is perfect! I can make anything with it.
Me and my friends have been playing this like rogue-like dungeon crawler called Lombards Labyrinth and its been a blast to play. its really easy to understand how to play and tabletop makes it seamless with the tiles. I would highly, highly recommend Tabletop and checking out Lombards Labyrinth.
I Made a Board Game — And It’s Playable Now!
I've been using Tabletop Simulator to design, test, and refine my indie board game, and I’m super excited to say that it’s now up on the Steam Workshop for public testing!
It’s called Lombard’s Labyrinth — a roguelike dungeon crawler built for 1 to 5 players. You’ll dive into a constantly shifting labyrinth, choose from 10 unique champions, and face off against 10 challenging bosses. Every playthrough is different, making each game a fresh adventure.
This has been an amazing way to test and share my game with others online, and I’d love for you to check it out. Just search for Lombard’s Labyrinth on the Tabletop Simulator Workshop and give it a try!
Wanna play some MTG but all your friends are out of town or vice versa? Tabletop sim is your game, not only for MTG, but all tabletop games! 10/10 recommend!
perfect game, absolute auto-buy for anyone who enjoys board games. 100000/10
This game has rapidly become a staple within my friend-group for playing board games and card games remotely.
I'm enjoying modding and scripting, adding my own spin to the games we play, and adding extras to already-built game tables - like new tokens, models, and miniatures.
Sure it has it's quirks, but they're consistent and can usually be avoided by doing things in a particular order - or not trying to overstretch it's limits.
The Best Worst Game You'll ever play
Tabletop simulator is a sandbox physics game that imitates board games. It is designed to play various kinds of tabletop games, and includes card games, board games, war games, and even RPGs.
...At least, that's how it is on the surface.
TTS is built in unity, it's home to a special kind of jank and is simultaneously terrifyingly-simple to use and deep enough to be annoyingly-complex. The physics can range from weirdly-unresponsive, to "how the hell are you even colliding with that"?!
The dice rolling functions are pretty scuffed too. A good dice tower seems to be the only way to properly roll dice without it just popping up and being stuck on one face, and trust me, I've rolled a LOT of dice.
A wonderful and godawfully-bad workshop
TTS's workshop is one of the easiest to access. Models, objects and textures are stored offsite as URLs, thus you can put them wherever you want, be it on steam's servers, imgur, dropbox, so on and so forth.
...Notice a problem with this?
Imgur? Dropbox? These are not reliable hosting platforms, and yet there are people who have submitted crucial workshop pieces on exactly these sites, over time, these mods break, often to the detriment of normal users just trying to complete sets for their more-complex board games, or their squad-based war games.
It does have a saving grace : it is nowhere NEAR as bad as the brainrotted cancer that is Garry's Mod's Workshop.
Solitaire(-y)?
I owned this game for a few years on the single-player side of things until I managed to actually get a regular gaming buddy to play this game with. Honestly?...
No. Not really worth it for single player.
Even quite a few of the more-automated games that have scripts have extra requirements - like using discord servers and ID linkage, which I don't like.
Worth it?
Yes. But only if you have a friend, otherwise skip it for now.
A good way to playtest your board game creations
This is probably one of the best ways to play board and card games with people you can't physically be with.
Literally the best way to play thousands of different games at once.
easy way to play different card games, personally only used for MTG Commander and i love it!
Tabletop Sim is one of those games you should just own if you have any friends at all. You can play any board game at all through the steam workshop.
Many of the official board games are scripted very well. Although there are some minor interface and physics issues, the amount of possibilities this app permits is near endless. Great for having remote sessions of DnD over discord, or other classic games with friends across the globe that can;t make game night at your home.
I really should have more hours in this game, but even though I don't, this game is amazing.
You can play ANY BOARD game you want, and as a basic board game fanatic, I love that. I even designed my own board game that is NASCAR related, but never finished it. I wish I had more friends who had it because just a night goofing around on this game would be hours and hours of hilariousness.
Great alternative to MTG: Arena, and it has plenty of classics and sandbox modes
TABLETOP SIMULATOR'S trailer has given me the melancholic palpitations but in a chewing celery string sort of way,
Healthy yet Pithy type energy with a dasharoo of semi-Robust Chess mechanics and legumes of smoovement Potential.
I am quite pleased to know it! : )
Like playing games with your friends and TTRPGS? This is for you, it has it ALL via an amazing modding community. A must have for all board game lovers out there.
Nice game to simulate wargames and table top games, specially Warhammer 40k (and other versions of Warhammer).
Chill game when none of my friends want to commit to anything and we just end up making a puzzle with yugioh episodes in a tablet
Probably the best way to suffer in a D&D campaign, and also play random card games and other tabletop things
I have been using Tabletop Simulator to play Warhammer, which allows me to play games with people that I would not normally be able to on a regular basis. It's been an absolute game-changer for staying connected with the hobby, especially when distance or schedules make in-person games difficult.
The platform is incredibly flexible, offering a wide range of tools that replicate the tabletop experience surprisingly well. From precise movement and measuring tools to custom dice and detailed miniatures, it captures the feel of a real game without sacrificing the strategic depth that makes Warhammer so much fun. The community support is also fantastic — there are tons of custom assets, terrain sets, and even scripted tools that make setting up and playing even faster.
Of course, nothing beats the feeling of rolling real dice with friends across a physical table, but Tabletop Simulator has given me a way to keep my armies marching and my tactical mind sharp, no matter where I am. Whether you're a casual player or a hardcore tournament regular, I highly recommend it for anyone looking to expand their Warhammer experience!
Got this game with a group of friends. Lets us play board games online that would normally cost us 50+ dollars to play in-person. It lets us decide if certain board games are worth buying before commuting the funds. VR mode is a gimmick and does not feel good, just play on desktop.
It's like having every board game that ever existed for completely free after just buying the game once. 10/10 would completely recommend.
Its 2025 and is still one of my top-played games, if I'm being honest. A great Friday night game with the pals. They have Poker, Blackjack, Domino's, and the list goes on-and-on!
My recommendations :
Star Wars : Epic Duels
Pokemon : Master Trainer
Yu-Gi-Oh game (forget the name)
Numerous Lord of the Rings games to jump into.
Lots of fun...of course, you have to have people to play with in order to get much out of it. But kinda awesome!
Really good game and worth thge price for someone like me who is intrested in virtual historical gaming. I can play hundreds of games for free (excluding the price of the game).
Only got this since I am lazy to play board games irl and I was rewatching Board James from Cinemassacre recently. The workshop stuff is cool.
You can make your own board game ideas come to life. Either for playtesting purposes or as an official release.
You can even script your interactions and not have to do everything manually like with a physical board game using Lua script.
Great way to play multiple board games with friends online. Also nice to ease set-up and clean-up
It may be strange to discover Tabletop Simulator in 2025, but the simulator is actually very user-friendly, with hotkeys and a huge number of games in the workshop. Personally, I found all the board games I played IRL and they were all perfectly adapted.
Pretty dependent on mods/workshop, but it works pretty dang well. VR implementation is a B-, pretty decent but struggles a bit depending on hardware and number of objects. Cool software!
A great way to play board games with friends if you can't meet them physically.
totally under priced if you like board/card games. infinite fun, infinite possibilities. huge MTG commander stuff
A fantastic way to play board games and tabletop games digitally, and the Workshop has a lot of content for various games, making it very easy to get started with whatever you want to play
Simple simulator for almost any board game or card game. easy to use, works pretty good.
it was perfect, perfect, everything, down to the last minute details, especially the modders
also really worth the price
