Solid game to play with friends. Complete with a level editor and steam workshop level sharing!
I enjoy the multiplayer/ cross platform aspect of the game. It allows me to game with friends from around the U.S.
Game is very very fun to play in huge friend groups.
If you see this game go on sale and you have the money, I very much recommend gifting this to a group of friends you often play games with, It's an awesome time!
Something I'm not a fan of though is how pricey the DLC can be, even when the DLC went on sale I still had to pay over $16 for some extra maps, which is REQUIRED for 100%'ing this game if you wanna go for that.
Otherwise, great game for hanging out! Would recommend when it goes on sale.
Golf with Friends: where the golf is questionable, but the friends and laughs are top-notch. Sure, I may have run out of time on the same hole again (how does anyone get the angles right?!) but the chaotic fun of yelling 'JUST TAP IT!" while everyone else misses too makes it totally worth it. 10/10 would rage at windmills again.
Honestly great game but the problem i have is that someone can just search up a guide and beat everyone who is trying. + the dlc´s are too expensive.
this game has no physics and makes no logic. I put the power at 3bars and the ball goes too fast, I put the ball at 2.9bars and it goes very slow . I put it from half a metre very slow to hit the hole and I still fly it through , don't buy this game....

I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys mini-golf. The controls and the game-play are uncomplicated, and instinctive. This simplicity does not extend to the visual appearance of the game, which is vivid and sharp. All courses and holes are rich and fully developed and no cartoon stick men will appear here. If you enjoy the humor and ingenuity of video mini-golf games, this is the one to pick.
There is no game that you can play with someone you care so much about and want fight them after.

sometimes has some strange physics. don't know if is: auto level or poor pooling assets. maybe both. even so you can have fun with it.

I love this game, it makes me so happy. I don't think anyone should buy or play this but I love it.
Fun game to play with friends, but I wouldn't say it's worth it at full price. I got it on sale though.
It is a golf game with some interesting maps and mechanics. The space station map for example had black holes you could use on certain holes to launch yourself via orbiting to another part of the course.
There are powerups you can enable too to let you troll your friends or help yourself, such as being able to freeze yourself in place right before you go off an edge or force your friends to transform their ball into some shape like a cube for one shot - if done at a bad time this can mess them up a lot. This allows for some good fun if you are all good sports about it.
Overall, much more fun than trying to do garbage maps of mini-golf in something like tabletop simulator. It's very satisfying to pull off a really great play, and sometimes lucky plays too can be great fun. You can customize the rules of how you play pretty extensively too in terms of how many shots you can take, time limits, collision with other players, etc.
The music and sound and graphics and stuff are serviceable, not great.
The physics are a little wonky but I enjoy the challenge of this game. It's super fun for online game nights with my friends and figuring out all the possible trick shots
Nothing like bringing competitive golf to your friend group. The added modes are even more fun when you have a bunch of people going for trick shots.
The game is called Golf with Friends, but my friends refuse to play it. Mind you, these are the same people complaining about the lack of games in our rotation, especially party games. This would be a fun game the 10 of us could play before we hop off. I only say 10 because there are only 10 people I could think of who would actually buy the game. There are a lot of amazing games my friends refuse to play, and I’m not entirely sure why. I don't want to rant since it's their prerogative, but usually, when it comes to this, I opt to play solo with randoms. Unfortunately, the game servers refused to match me up, no matter which region I selected.
So yeah, I'm definitely refunding :(

With friends this game is really fun and it gets really competitive I have played a lot with my friend and lost most and basically just insulted his entire bloodline over it.
A decent game to have in your party game night rotation. Hop on Discord, open the cam, have a brew with your buds, and have some good laughs... or spill blood.

excellent game full of fair premade maps and for fun/challenging player designed. I have 80+ hours and have plenty of drunken/stoned nights gambling with my friends on gwyf games. Love it

I love this game, as you can tell by hours played...
I would also love to see it gain main-steam spotlight. Playing this with a few friends, slightly aggressively, can be a fun, chill game to chat and play without straining your eyeballs on an fps... The mechanics of this game are better than any other putt-putt game. While there can be bugs or mishaps, you can quickly learn what the game 'likes and dislikes.' But the options for how to play are very fun and with the right people, can be chaotic, chill, or exhilarating, depending on the game mode!
That being said, I think the thing holding this game back from that for most is;
a) lack of new content
b) lack of good quality, working, workshop content
The latter does provide more than the base game. It also allows for that much more re-playability, as the base game and workshop content is highly re-playable. In fact, it's great to replay because you never know what new path you'll find or way to get lower strokes and beat your friends.
However, the developers of the game could do more to promote this game into a better position. They do create new game assets on their DLC's that allow the modders to 'innovate' creative course layouts. But, as a developer, they could use those innovations to produce atleast a FEW good maps in each DLC utilizing the new assets instead of only one. That would better justify the prices of most DLC's. Most people like 'vanilla content'. So, more people attracted to the game = more potential workshop content as well.
Between the DLC maps and skins, it seems very sporadic, cash grab-y, and hollow. Most are 15-30 minutes of content, not considering re-playability. Even with, they are debatably vastly overpriced...
Overall, I do recommend the game. If you're lonely, reach out, find a group somewhere to play with as this will drastically increase your experience. I want to see this game explode and I STILL feel it could. But, the long lack-of-content droughts make this game always remain behind the scenes.
As for me and my friends, it will remain a 'chill night' of low effort gaming. Regardless of what the developers do or don't continue to do. What's there is there and even though we've played them all a million times, we will play them a million more!
This game is fun and easy to pick up. Great for playing with friends.

One of the game’s greatest strengths is its versatility. There is no wrong way to play, and even the most disastrous shots can yield an unexpectedly brilliant hole in one. That said, a minor drawback is the occasional situation where players can find themselves stuck in an unplayable spot, with no choice but to wait for the timer to expire and accept the penalty. A reset or "unstuck" button would be a welcome addition to alleviate this issue. Ultimately, the true magic of Golf With Your Friends lies in the social experience it fosters. I have created countless cherished memories and enjoyed plenty of hilarious moments while playing. For its reasonable price and the joy it brings, the game is well worth the investment
The game is not only a great way to get off steam, but as the title says, to play with friends. It's fun and simple. While there are some glitches with custom maps, I would recommend this overall.
Super fun low key game to play with friends
TLDR: I can't quite put my finger on it but it's just a lesser game than Golf Gang IMO. So I am not recommending it solely for that.
Story: You were born a ball, you seek a hole. Such is life.
Gameplay: As a ball, you are whacked around until you get in said hole. This is where Golf Gang works a little better IMO, since you can mess around with the ball more; hitting the ball again before it stops moving, the modifications that can be brought to the game are more present and vary more, and you play one hole at a time, instead of a whole course.
Graphics: You, as a ball, are round, while many other things that aren't, are not.
Audio: You... are... Can't think of a ball thing to say here.
Yeeeaaah, just get Golf Gang. I might be biased without knowing here, but I had a much better experience with it.

Fun mini-golf game but the online playing is unstable and keeps disconnecting constantly regardless of the server region. It can be very annoying to play 15 holes with a friend just to be kicked out due to server connectivity issues. At the same time I'm connected over teamspeak with my friend so I know there's no network connectivity issues either with my friends connection or mine.
Mini golf games are always kinda fun no matter what, this game definitely is pretty fun for the most part. But between inconsistent course designs and a lack of gameplay customization (IMO you should be allowed to tweak the gameplay like on classic mode either changing the timer or turning it off completely) it can be frustrating. That alone isn't the worst thing, but also adding the fact that the game is designed around DLC, kind of makes it a bummer. You get limited courses and cosmetics with the base game, and the game pushes buying all the DLC. Mini golf video games just really aren't something people want to drop $50 to $100 on, and the courses included in the base game get boring quick. I am also probably just spoiled because I've played VR mini golf games which are a million times better, especially because the courses are designed better. Seriously, some holes in the courses in this game are just dumb, some mind numbingly too easy and some that force you to be oddly specific with your approach. If you can find the game with all the DLC included for a steep discount, go ahead, otherwise it's only fun for like 5-10 minutes at a time, spread out over a long period of time.
This is a must buy game! there is always new levels being created. A fun game to play with friends or online. This game makes golf enjoyable.
It's a fun game that's meant to just play leisurely, and mess around- somewhat sandbox. Yet it also has the versatility of a competitive game and even some battle features which are super fun. I do not play games as often as I used to and when I do this one is my go to for relaxed gameplay.

The base game itself is fun but unfortunately it has gone the way of most of Team 17's games and is now just a microtransaction farm. I recommend the base game but you should only buy any of the DLC under $1
The game as such is pretty good. Nothing more i expect from a minigolf game. It's fun, the community is very chill and you can have a lot of fun, especially with friends.
The reason i can't write a positive review, is the way they deal with the achievements and DLCs. Personally I really like achievement hunting.
But the fact, that they demand up to 9€ for a single map DLC, that doesnt even look like more work is just ridiculous. Back in the day they sold them for 3-4€. That's still a lot if you consider, that you get the base game for the same price and have 13 Maps included.
Of course you can say "Just dont play it" but the problem for people that care about the achievements is, that each DLC has achievements. So the moral of the story is, with every new DLC there's new achievements locked behind a paywall. And that's kinda disgusting.
Like I said the base game is pretty fun though and if you don't care about achievements, you might just go for it.
I love this game its really fun with friends for a laugh but would love for crossplay as to play with certain people i have to swap between pc and xbox
Fun game overall, but the absence of a hotseat mode in online co-op and the janky physics can make it frustrating at times.
I really enjoy the game when my wifi lets me play it! Needs more maps and free cosmetics besides that it's pretty great.

great game with a group of friends, never screamed so loud in frustration just trying to get the ball in the hole. Fun maps. Basic simple classic fun never goes out of style, reliably fun. Recommend at least 3 for some rowdy fun but have even played singleplayer a few times because it is just relaxing that way. Glad I bought this game!

Bought the game, played the built-in courses, then realized the ABSOLUTELY CRAZY PRICE for any of the additional packs. Absolute cash grab and terrible business practice. If you're going to charge for additional courses, at least make the price _somewhat reasonable_. As it stands, do not buy this game.
Action packed and cubetacular. Very fun casual game with friends and very nice level editor
