Race around in a nitro boosted mower to pickup grass and blast unsuspecting opponents with its hidden tank cannon. Mowin' & Throwin' is great to play with friends, family, or people you only sort of like. The experience is best played locally, but is playable online through PARSEC.
Mowin’ & Throwin’ is a competitive lawn mowing experience where the objective of the game is the have the LEAST amount of grass on your lawn before time runs out. Mow down the competition in our 2v2 or 1v1 game modes. Customize your experience by choosing between two zanny gnome avatars as well as their hat. This game requires controllers, but will soon support keyboards and full keyboard / controller button remapping!
A stunning variety of items drop from the sky during the match. Use them to knock gnomes of mowers, regrow grass, or flip your opponent’s controls!
Ever wonder what it's like to drive a riding mower that's souped up with nitrous and a tank cannon!? Experience the thrill of mowing at breakneck speeds to gather grass bag ammo to shoot at your rival team's yard!
Grow closer with your friends by teaming up! Or ruin that friendship with a well aimed rock! Keep the couch fun during parties or when you need a break from the online world.
A single match only takes a few minutes, but Mowin' & Throwin' can keep you and your friends occupied for seasons.
The controls and objective of Mowin' & Throwin' are easy to learn. But if you want to be a cut above the rest, you'll need to master each lawn's unique challenge to turn them to your advantage!
Each lawn is unique and creates challenges that affect how you mow and throw. Some examples include shifting terrain, elevators, destructible environments, darkness, and more!

In its current state Mowin' & Throwin' feels unfinished. This is mostly due to the complete lack of AI players.
If you have two friends over to play, you will be unable to all play together as you can't play any form of 2 vs 1 with one person having a computer team mate. Also the 1 v 1 is very limited in play as you have no team mate on your side to work with. So really this game is only good fun if you have 4 people who can play.
There is no form of single player what so ever! No way for you to practice on your own etc.
Just imagine getting a tennis game where there was no computer players, NONE! This is what Mowin' & Throwin' feels like.
If at some point AI gets added I will change my review. But as of now I would really not recommend this game.
If they added a simple AI to fill out teams and an ability to switch and take control of your team mate like switching players in most sports games then I think this could be very good.
But as of now, being really a game that is either 4 human players or nothing, it is bad.
This game is hilarious, fun and easy to pick up. No AI or easy way to play online. Get 1 or 3 of your friends and have a blast
Very exciting party game. Lots of back and forth action as you're trying to sabotage your opponent while making mowing progress yourself. Would love to see it with true online multiplayer (setting up/hosting with Parsec being less than ideal), but most importantly- offline bots for hassle-free play when you don't have enough friends.
The game is an extremely polished Unreal engine game and a great hoot of a party game! Do you remember the SNL Yard-A-Plut? You get to chuck stuff into your neighbors yard while trying to mow your own yard. That is such a great setup for a couch party game, lots of fun and dead easy to pick up and play, as it should be. There is no single-player and no online multi-player but that is just fine, you really should play this in the same room with your friends. Highly recommended party game.
One of the most fun 2v2 couch games I've ever played. If you have 3 friends and the controllers required to play get this! The concept and gameplay are simple but can be varied by the maps with the mechanics that they offer. Devs have added some quality content and hopefully much more to come.
This game is a blast! My kids and I discovered it at PAX south 2018, and bought it on my sons account to play on the steam link together. We always have a great time. The art is fun and whimsical, the game play is fast and fun. Great for the whole family. My son moved out for college this semester, and so I bought my own copy. I love it so much I've paid for it twice! Can't wait to see it on the switch or other platforms as well!

Mowin' and Throwin' is a fast and fun competative couch co-op that you can play with your friends. The game has a wide varitey of levels that offer new and unique challanges, along with fun and easy to understand gameplay that has great depth which allows for cleaver strategizing with your teammate. The game is a great fun, frenetic experience that will see you and your friends playing over and over again.
This game is perfect to play with friends, the game mechanics is simple for any people from different ages to pick up and learned, but also has the depth to create fun and competitive gameplay. Although currently, the game only support the gamepad and require three other people to play with you. However, if you want to play some good and fun couch co-op game with your friends when they are visiting, I'll strongly recommand this game.
Mowin’ and Throwin’. You mow. You throw. You never stop having fun. Really! This hilarious party game brings the perfect balance of playing with and competing with friends (or complete strangers) to the game room. It’s fun for kids and adults alike. What more could one ask for in a game?
While mowing might not sound exciting and fun, when you get to ride a mower, shoot grass cannons, and possibly drive off the edge of the world, how could it not be fun? The sabotage elements (knocking the other team off the mower or their feet with rocks, growing grass back with fertilizer, etc.) add even more fun to the game.
And it all happens in three-minute rounds, which means it’s easy to take a break for food or to change players. The quick rounds means it’s PERFECT for parties. We were at a party with a few dozen people, and it was as fun to watch others play as it was to play myself. You can’t help but cheer for the players. I watched a family with kids, a group of teens, and adults all having equally great times. I played with people I’d never met and had a blast. It only gets more fun playing at home with friends and family.
The controls and basic game play are pretty easy to pick up, making it fun for someone who has never played, but there are many layers of strategy that make it even more fun for the experienced player. Each level offers a new experience requiring new strategy. It just never gets boring. And the graphics are stunning. The brilliant colors pop out on any TV, and the fun design of the characters look really polished. The small details like flamingos swirling around a gnome’s head when knocked silly add Easter egg-like comedy to the game.
Overall, I love this game for the competitive experience, the beauty of the visuals, and the irreplaceable fun shared with the other players. It’s a keeper!
This game is wicked fun. Mowin and Throwin has become my new game to play at parties or whenever my friends come over to chill. Matches are short, way too addictive. There are so many levels to choose from, the tiki head level that allows you to switch the bridges always becomes super head-to-head. If you like games like Overcooked or other couch coop games, you will def love this one.
Mowin' and Throwin' is a really fun co-op experience! It reminds me of the good old days when you would go over to your friends house, or they would come over to yours, and play games throught the night. It's relatively easy to pick up and can become very engaging and competitive quickly.
A really good indie party game!
TL;DR: If you love couch co-op games like overcook, star whale, you will love this game also! This game can provide a fun party with a time around 3-4 hrs!
It's bascially a 2v2 game about cooperation and sabotage the opponent team. you can choose to drive the kart or be the walking one who supports the kart. I like the chaos (within a certain limit) in this game. Had a fun night with my friends!
Pros:
1. the gameplay is really fun for a 2v2 couch coop game. There are strategy as planning the mowing path and save some items for the proper time. There are also fun chaos time of map chaning and opponent sabotaging!
2. multiple maps and different mechanics. I actually prefer the standard map because I can focus more on sabotaging my opponent, but multiple mechanis provide diverse gameplays. Eg, the one with elevators made all of us pretty busy all the time lol!
3. Art style is my type! I love cartoony style art, and this game definitly fit my desire for cute models and animation. I also like the color theme a lot! Love greeeeeeen!
4. Music is also one of the shinning aspect! It's relaxing and lovely~ felt delight by just listen to the goofy happy music!
Cons:
1. no signle player mod. This should be easy to make, but I'm not sure why it's not there. I hope they will add this mode in the future.
2. no keyboard support. the controller set up is neat, but the fact I cant use keyboard is kinda disappointing.
Overall I will give this game 8/10 as a local coop party game with 4 players (controllers).
After replaying this game after the update, I found it really enjoyable to play with my brother.
