Great game beat it in like 40 minutes
Top tier 2D platformer its good in all aspects gameplay visuals soundtrack and for how cheap it goes for on sales its a steal
Game is fantastic. Love the art style, music, level design, and characters. It can be a little slow at the beginning simply because you need to unlock the moves throughout the first half of the game.
Great game, kind of like Cuphead. Very fun and cheap. 100% a must get.
very good
very fun, fast paced platformer. This is peak, and definitely not gooner bait.
when ubisoft was good. made by my ''olteni'' from Craiova.
nostalgia be peak with this game YOOOOOOOOOOOO (I highly recommend it for any 2d platformer or rayman fans)
I really like Rayman legends and this game seems fun too, but there are a few things that make this very bad for a PC in my opinion.
Firstly, there is no controller support. I do understand if ubisoft wants us to play the game on console, but the controls are just not good on keyboard.
Secondy, the game does not support a mouse. I would've used it to hit and bind some keybinds to it but the option just doesn't show up.
Thirdly, the keybinding system doesn't work. You have to spam a key for a while in order to actually equip it to an action. Walking, crouching and looking up is also automatically binded to the up, down, left, right arrows which makes it even more annoying.
Lastly, the quality is really bad even though they have a high resolution option. The game has some small lag-spikes which occur often and can get annoying very quickly.
Overall do not recommend the game for a PC on Steam as there are a lot of different things that make it bad. Generally I do recommend the game on console since I am a huge fan of Rayman Legends.
i used to play this on the wii. its ludicorously difficult. still good woul reccomend
The port is eh... sometimes its hard to get controllers working and good luck if you wanna play remoteplay. otherwise amazing game 10/10
Still as good as i remember, don't care about Ubi's games but most of the Rayman games still do be quite good, especially this one.
Was reminded of not only how amazing this game is, but how much it inspired me to become an artist.
Seriously if you haven't, please play this game. Charming art style, lush environment and smooth gameplay. It is legit a marvel of platformer that i feel more people need to try.
10/10 childhood game
globox is op
childhood classic!. played with my dad and completed the game easy over 30 times over!, good memories!. 10/10
They just don't make em how they used to.
Best 2D Platformer of all time
I got this game for free as a pre-order bonus from purchasing Rayman Legends. It plays exactly like how I played it on Wii. (Only I never got the medals or trophies back then) I got ALL the Electoons, Medals and Trophies in the game, including the Skull Teeth. The bonus level is as hard I remembered it was.
An absolutely amazing game hindered by the lack of care that went into the PC port,
they didn't bother adding achievements from the console versions so overcoming end game challanges will feel immensely unsatisfying as the game won't recognize you did anything and just put you back on the world map.
getting all medallions, getting all the speed trophies, beating the land of the livid dead has literally zero effect on the game itself. Pretty jarring oversight that undermines the whole game which could've been easily fixed with Steam achievements, really disappointing and confusing i see nobody else talk about this
Chill platformer.
This is a very fun game and I love it
I had a lot of fun playing Rayman Origins. It is pretty much exactly what you would want out of a 2D platformer. Levels start off easy and gradually get more difficult as you gain new abilities. Each level has hidden challenge objectives and also offers a time trail after the first stage completion. Additionally, there are collectible currency items in each level which lead to a bonus award at the end of the level if you collect enough.
a really great game to play with your family. it contains a really great soundtrack , and for a platformer it fits it insanly good. there s a lot of fun details in this game. and i can say it can be played by all ages , i first played it when i was 10 and 10 years after my oppinion remains the same.
it s cheap, good, family friendly , good music, funny, and more. so i don t see a reason to not give it a try .
One of the best if not the best platformers out there.
Environments are so vivid and lovely to traverse through the games biomes.
Level design is really good and there's a dramatic difficulty curve later on but still never unfair.
There are some bs moments in the game but these are too far in between and never really ruin the overal experience.
Replayability is there for people who want 100% or just want to blast through the levels I did aim for all of the teensies but the curve made me change my decision. Only gripe is there's not enough ice levels these are genuinely the best levels
Coming from Rayman legends, despite that game giving you most the origins levels packed in, this game is far better overall.
8/10 Pick up this game and play!
greger
Game's good. No DRM Crap. Will recommend you play this confusingly horny platformer.
man oranges
Nostalgia at it's finest.
ThIs is an amazing expierence. To the boss battles, to the fast chase scenes, to the goofy story. It's just a wonderful game.
nice
A ancient, forgotten relic of the bygone age when Ubisoft had a soul.
It doesn't even require Ubisoft Connect, so what are you waiting for?
I honestly can't believe how criminally underrated this game series is.
This is the rare case that shows the result when you take the personality, creativity, passion and risk-taking of an indie developer, and mix it with the resources and polish from a publisher too stacked for its own good.
This is the one time i feel Ubisoft truly tried to live up to their fake slogan "where talent meets creativity".
It's a game you'd logically think shouldn't exist but are still grateful that it does & it wouldn’t surprise me if it inspired this renaissance of great 2D indie games we now experience a decade later.
Sadly, endless respect from consumers isn't enough to make the publisher have any faith in the franshise.
I dont understand the hate this game gets from older fans. Don't take me wrong, i would like more challenge & to see the unique boomerang fist mechanic return, but I for one, am jealous of the younger generation of fans and wish i grew up with this instead of Rayman 1 for my first game, as this feels like how they would have made that game if they had more time, common sense and resources.
To me it feels like the best combination of old and new but without the drawbacks from either (arbitrary life system or ingame purchases).
It has the same slapstic humor and a soundtrack so expressive, so memorable that i could never pick a favorite since the next song would always top what i thought was my favorite. This game is seriously musical opium.
I even remember having Chasing a Dream as my ringtone at one point before i had to change it since it meant i would never pick up my phone, just listening on the banger.
The only thing I dislike about the OST is that in order to score big you must pick up lum kings which triggers a unique song that’s while a cute tune on its own merits, gets kind of annoying when it constantly interrupts all the better, epic and truly cinematic compositions you’d otherwise hear in this game.
In addition to the OST i can't compliment the presentation enough. Everything you see in this game has been fully handdrawn, giving each character and environment more life in a timeless disney'esque artstyle (before they started the trend of lifeless CGI & live action remakes) that in a age of AI makes you appreciate the human touch.
It just goes to show how a charming & distinct artstyle can make your game look and feel breathtaking even on limited hardware like the Wii & 3DS where i have most of my playtime.
I feel so bad for how much talent & effort has since been left to waste from the layoffs and lack of games since.
I also don’t mind the lack of story as I honestly due think the stories of the older games were overrated anyways (even if the atmosphere was top notch).
Its not like the older games had a heavy narrative even for their time releasing alongside MGS and Deus Ex and as for what little story there is in this game, I do enjoy that its told through the environments rather than exposition & and that a former friend from the older game betray you.
Though I completely understand people being disappointed that the game’s title is essentially clickbait and never explains how our favorite eggplant came to be.
I do think Legends after it, is the better game, but this is still worth playing, and back to origins isn't some substitute that could replace this game as the challenge has been reduced further and all the best chapters are skipped.
I also do prefer this game's art style over Legends any day even if i think the latter’s dreamworks’esque artstyle is still fine and fitting for the whacky world.
Most underrated franshise/10
They better give us a new Rayman game. This is one of the best platformers ever in terms of gameplay but also artstyle and OST. This game is the definition of a whimsical and fun time.
this game is very fun with a lot of action pact levels. highly recommend to new people on steam
the first rayman game i played was legends and i lovee it i played on xbox 360 and tis is very good HE FARIES ARE HOT AS FUCK AND HE JIGGLE PHYSICS OGGG
good co-op platformer to play with ANYONE BUT FAMILY MEMBERS
First time actually finishing this game in like 10 years, feels cathartic. game's really fun its a fun platformer that can get pretty hard towards the end but if you have 10 or so hours to kill it will be worth it. My go to rayman game ~ 🐀
This is the best, beautiful, and awesome game i have ever played in my 16 years of teaching.
Favorite 2D Platformer (besides S3&K)
Classic Rayman game at its finest. I think this version deserves a quality of life update, since it has not been updated to a more modernized version ever since. Also, I think having Steam Achievements would make this game well worth playing for 100% completion. Still a great game overall, but I feel Ubisoft should give it a little more attention and some polishing fixes (I know they won't, but here's to hoping).
One of the best 2D Platformers of all time that is unfortunately owned by one of the worst companies at the same time.
I love Rayman Origins, but the PC Port is a mess:
1. If you play on KBM specifically, the game has constant frame drops for *every* input you make no matter your specs, which straight up make the game near unplayable. The only fix I found all over the internet for this was to emulate a Xbox 360 controller, which is ridiculous.
2. Getting controllers to actually be detected by the game and setting up Remote Play Together is a nightmare. Every player has to use *entirely different keybinds*, even if you have 2 of the same controller.
3. The intro cutscenes are extremely low quality compared to the console versions (which you can switch with some file swaps). Not that big of a deal but still felt like mentioning
4. Not necessarily an issue with the game itself, but it integrates no steam features at all: No achievements, no trading cards, it doesn't even have proper thumbnails in the steam library. Same story for Legends.
The only upside is no forced third-party launcher crap, unlike Legends. Fuck you Ubisoft
i probably wouldn't have ever become an artist if it wasn't for the gorgeous direction of this game that had captivated my attention many years back
I didnt really like the game the controls felt pretty wacky and overall didnt enjoy it.
