One of the most nostalgic game in my life
Great game, shitty publisher. Unfortunately does not launch after some changes on Ubisoft side and their awesome app.
While I do prefer 3D platformers from the Rayman franchise (Hoodlum Havoc is my favorite), this is definetely the best 2D Rayman out there. The art direction is amazing, it makes the graphics pleasing to the eye and the gameplay is incredibly fun and smooth. I had a blast bouncing off the walls as I run and punch enemies in one swoop. The boss fights are especially rewarding when it comes to combat, I sometimes find myself coming back and replaying them just for the sake of it. If I have to name one thing that makes it better than most other 2D platformers however, it would be the music levels - boy do I love those. I adore the soundtrack of all Rayman games, and making levels that force you to follow the rythm of the song playing in the background was a genius idea. I know those weren't made specifically for Rayman and that they are actual songs, merely adapted to fit the theme of the game, but it still shows the devs have an excellent taste in music.
While this is one of the best games, this is not the best version.
The Nintendo Switch version is free of this unbelievably bad DRM and it has more content!
if your playing this because you miss origins, stop and go buy and install origins, now that the nostalgia blind are gone, yea this is pretty great i do miss the mosquito/chest levels and personally i cant stand murphy levels but other than those two problems this is a wonderful upgrade of origins formula.
I played this game on the Wii U way back in the mid 2010s and it was a joy to replay one of my favs. Unfortunate that Online is gone but it's still a genuine joy to play :)
Also Ubisoft pls actually make good games lol

This game is absolutely a blast to play. It's easily my favorite and must be one of if not the best platformer games ever made. this one surpasses Super Mario World IMO. It has a fantastic level design (especially those music levels), godly soundtrack, this game even had content from the previous game albeit with a bit of modification. It's a shame that the online aspect of this game is dead such as leaderboard and challenges. Ubisoft should be ashamed of themselves for not doing anything with this franchise, which in my opinion is easily their best one.
I prefer the first game, but this one has been a lot of fun to play.

The game itself is great. There are a couple cons, but that is mainly ubisoft.
Pros:
-The music levels are amazing. I come back to play them over and over.
-The character design is amazing, with 20+ to unlock, and 2 extra themed princesses to unlock in every world.
-Collecting everything takes a while, and extends the playtime enough to be satisfied after completion, but still not get bored.
-The movement and platforming is incredibly smooth, fast, and satisfying.
-beautiful art work. just stunning (Fiesta de los muertos can sometimes be average though)
-Every world is unique, and each have their own special thing.
Cons
-Damn ubisoft. stupid login, and they no longer do the online stuff.
-if you want any newer games, you have to play an apple arcade exclusive mobile game.
-If you are not going for a 100% its more worth it to just get Rayman Origins than doing the remade levels.

On my second playthrough of this game on pc. I like how its kinda challenging without being hard also its really beautiful great game. The only downside is the lack of Steam achievements and ubisoft launcher.
10/10 peak Rayman. I've bought and played this for nearly every platform because it's just so good. Never afraid to double-dip even after a wholeass decade. Looks amazing on an OLED display. Works flawlessly on Steam Deck once you get past the UPlay login.
But no achievements or online play. I don’t even think that this even has Steam cloud save so be careful about deleting it from your storage :(
Let's be real here, Rayman Legends is still the absolutely 10/10 it once was back in 2013. Great gameplay, wonderful soundtrack, hell, the entire game so far for me oozes with love and care from 2013 Ubisoft, and that does not take away what I'm going to say next. Ubisoft Connect sucks, and I think NOBODY is alone in saying that. Like, I don't need to sign into ANOTHER BROWSER just so I can play your 10/1 year old video game UBISOFT. Though, aside from Ubisoft's quite frankly UNNECESSARY VIDEO GAME BROWSER, this is still an incredible game at heart, and I would still recommend it years later... all you need to do is get past Ubisoft's stupid video game browser, which at most you will likely play Ubisoft's older titles, rather than whatever weird ass Rayman NFT nonsense they're doing today.
It's a simple, but very entertaining platformer with gorgeous visuals and many creative and diverse levels.

My favourite 2D platformer. Beautiful graphics, plenty of fun, creative, fast paced levels, not too difficult (I love hard games but suck at 2D platformers), but with a few more demanding challenges like time trials plus some neat ideas and twists like music levels. It's worth noting that with Legends you also get access to most of the levels from Rayman Origins so if you aim for 100% you'll get many hours of enjoyable, high quality gaming.
Uplay sucks
The itself game is great but it requires the Ubisoft launcher and can't be played offline even though its a solely single-player/couch co-op game.
I love this game to bits. I know I may not have that many hours on it on Steam but I was there from the get-go and played it when it launched on the Wii U back in the day. I even bought it on Switch too lmao. The controls are fluid and smooth and the world and characters are strange, goofy, and beautiful. Even if you've never touched a Rayman game before you'll probably enjoy this one, esp if you've got friends that you wanna couch co-op with. (Not to mention this would go so hard on the Steam Deck). I love this game and you might too.
Mandatory installation of Ubisoft Connect and creating a Ubisoft account to just play the game is strongly unacceptable and what makes me not recommend it. Other than that, the actual game is good.
Wow! Rayman Legends is super-duper fun! You get to jump and run and save little blue guys called Teensies. The colors are soooo pretty—like a rainbow exploded! And the music? Oh my gosh, there’s this level where it goes “Bam bam bam!” and you jump to the beat! So cool!
Sometimes it’s a little hard, and I fell in the water lots, but it’s okay 'cause you just try again. I played with my friends, and we all laughed so much. But sometimes we bumped into each other, and it got silly!
I love how Globox looks when he runs. His arms and legs are all wiggly! And the bad guys are funny, not too scary. The best part? Unlocking costumes! I made Globox look super silly!
This game is like a big, happy cartoon I can play. I love it!

I'm currently playing a pirated copy of the game because the version i PURCHASED does not let me in when i'm offline.
if you want to play on your laptop or steamdeck, this means you can't play if you're on a road trip or on the bus without internet. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL.
This is exactly why piracy is always better than buying games from Ubishaft.
Please remove the AIDS that is Ubiconnect and i'll give this a thumbs up.
The game itself is really great fun.. please pirate it and do not support Ubishitty. That includes all their other games. Do not buy them on steam or anywhere else.

I think sticking a bunch of levels from Origins in this to pad out the level count doesn't sit well with me. Then again, they are from Origins so it was nice to play them in a slightly different gameplay format again.
Identical to its predecessor in the way it stacks several borderline impossible tasks at the end in an obnoxious way to halt a march towards 100% completion, and having been through the hell of doing that on Origins I wasn't going to let myself suffer again. Those 8-bit levels are absolutely ridiculous.
Even so, a really fun and enjoyable platformer for the most part. The rhythm levels are brilliantly designed and the bosses superb. They should have made more of these.

the ubisoft login is a bit annoying for a first impression on the steam release but other than that its good!

I have bought this again (i originally got this from the Xbox 360 store) for R$ 17,99 because i wanted to play this again because i cannot play my Xbox 360E anymore,but it requires an stupid Uplay (or U Connect)WHICH ACTUALLY CRASHES MY GAME
how ironic,forcing pepole to use their launcher litteraly makes the game crash,they need to fix this

It's a fun game to play smooth game play, fun to play with friends. Only negative thing I have to say is that you need ubisoft to run the game after it's done downloading on steam which is dumb. I just want to launch it on the steam and open in steam but I need the ubisoft app to for it to open. Other than that issue the game is fantastic to play with it goofy fun story.
don't get me wrong i love rayman legends so much but this port fucking sucks i mean obviously needing to use ubisoft connect is annoying but come on no controller support?? plus for a collectathon some achievements would be nice. this review is only for the steam port rayman legends itself is amazing
