I first played this game on an iPad but I've recently started playing on a laptop to see the differences.
I have to say it's much easier on an iPad, at least for me. Some of the challenges are a little hard to do, and there's no difficulty setting.
Other than that, the story is very gripping and cohesive.
A very cool game even though the sounds are sometimes too much and sometimes not enough. The story and the characters are pretty good and the game itself was nice. There was one minigame that was just doabale on stage one for three stars which was pretty madening. The style of the cutscenes where very cool and the game play was fun. The trophies werent really well balanced due to one or to level problems and especially due to the need of playing many days in the row just to get enough diamonds for the file. But still a very nice game. I can really recommend it
This is not the usual type of detective game one would imagine. The story begins with a rookie detective with the name of Lily Parker and a defense attorney, Victor Lane. A jogger passes by a murder at the harbor and finds a corpse under a freight. Lily Parker and Victor Lane are ordered by the Chief to investigate this crime scene together, which unfurls into a big mystery.
There are two characters who are playable at this game: Lily and Stella. Stella works in the laboratory, assisting both of them with their case.
Apart from the main story, Lily leads and assists the forensics investigating the crime scene and delivers them the items they need. At the police station, she orders the witnesses and police officers to their places interrogating or helping them. Stella on the other hand, helps the scientists in their research in the laboratory, delivering the right tools and chemicals required for the investigation. For the entire game, only the mouse is needed.
On each main level, there is a hidden mouse whose name is Carl. To find him, you'll receive a diamond at the end of each level in exchange for purchasing evidence for the case file - it's like a collection. Diamonds can also be collected in challenge levels and daily challenges which have no significance to the main plot.
The game itself has some flaws, particularly with certain levels and minigames that are impossible to beat. Also, the story is hard to enjoy because of the unrealistic way a character behaves. For example, Lily always gets upset most of the time and is very judgemental for no reason throughout the entire story. It agitates me every time.
As for the end of the story, it ends pretty abruptly. It could have been further expanded.
In the end, I wouldn't recommend this game for anyone expecting a thrilling detective story or engaging gameplay.
It was a fun story line and engaging. I enjoyed it as much as the Emily time management games. Although, there were a couple of bugs but once I closed and and rebooted it seemed to work. Still a fun game and looking forward to the second one.
Usually, I'm not a big fan of time management games. However, this one had a very nice and interesting storyline that made want to finish it. The gameplay wasn't too complicated and the minigames were a nice touch. At the same time even though the difficulty kept increasing it never went past the point of reason. Overall, I'd give it around an 8/10.
There are too many strange things that make this game quite puzzling. For example, there's a challenge of ending the level with an empty stock.... pity that the level has nothing that needs stocking (and one loses the challenge). Then, queuing actions is difficult because, when an object is delivered, the minigame starts and, if one's trying to cue actions, it messes the minigame up. Last but not least, certain minigames (i.e. collect liquids from the crime scene) are so slow that it's impossible to get the challenge done. It seems a beta game and it's not worth purchasing it.
Insanely difficult with no difficulty settings. I have hand weakness and can't zoom around that fast, and my partner, who does not have hand weakness, also cannot. Very unlike any of the Emily games I've played as far as game mechanics go
This product has some glaring game design and balancing problems.
- The achievement system and tracking is botched very badly. There is no excuse for this in a finished product receiving money. Several error checking and progress marks are either non-existent or broken.
For example, the player may have received max stars and/or achieved the bonus objective on a level. The game will even display this status to the player that they have accomplished this. However, according to the game's data that objective and conditions were not actually met. The player can play through all 60 levels perfectly and the game Will Not reward the player the in-game reward and achievement because of this issue
Additionally, the game does not keep display of metrics for the player's performance on any level. Meaning, there is no way of knowing which level is preventing the player from getting credit for perfect performance. The player is left with randomly picking levels or playing the entire game again and keeping track of their own performance on a sheet of paper.
- The Liquid Dropper mini-game is blatantly imbalanced to the point that as the difficulty curve progresses it is physically impossible for the player to get max stars. This results in lower scores and can even lead to failing objectives. The player is at the mercy of RNG for not getting too many of this mini-game
- The tablet/photo blur mini-game is also bugged. If the player moves the slider too fast this results in an incorrect display for what a correct answer is or is not. At times there may be two clear answers, one being false.
- Few bonus levels are blatantly not balanced for difficulty, impacting perfection rewards. It may be required to play the level 20+ times just to get a perfect RNG and timing for all bonus points, on top of the broken dropper mini-game. A level three bonus level (out of 60 main levels) should not be significantly more difficult than the last level of the entire game.
- Endless levels do not register correctly for completing them all.
- The daily challenge achievement requires the player to play once a day for 15 days consecutively. This is excessive.
The mod/rep/developer's forum-fix to these issues is to contact them via a steam email and give information. My recommendation is to avoid the headache and do not buy any product from Big Blue House and GameStudios.
They know their games have problems.
Way to hard. There are even Minigame Versions wich are impossible to make in time 'cause the game it self takes too long. Also the story and character build aren't very good
This game is well compared to Angela, Amber and Emily games this is very slow, achievements are way too hard, new minigames aren't clear enough at least to me to understand. Even walktrough guide doesn't help me with some tasks to complete them. It's a shame because the other series were so good. But this one I can't personally recommend.
This game is so good and the story is amazing. If you love the gamehouse stories you'll love this one
First of all, I gotta say Gamehouse definitely has some creative minds for coming up with the very first detective-themed time management game. Instead of serving various of customers, preparing different dishes, or farming all kinds of plants and animals, Parker and Lane have you to solve some murder cases. The game takes you on a journey through all locations relevant to detective’s job; from the crime scene itself to the police station, and the forensics lab.
The story from this series is fine, but not to the point that it really capture my heart entirely nor leaving any highlight impression. It just goes on without really gripping me in the slightest. Don't get me wrong, the story is not entirely bad but it is not really good either. I feel that the ending of the story could be a bit more ... grasping to my heart?
Meanwhile, I feel the mini games are done exceptionally well. I never have so much fun with all the science and detective mini games. Although I personally feel that the fingerprint mini game is way too challenging as if the timing reacted way too fast. Or perhaps it was made for that purpose in order to give a sense of urgency? Whether this aspect is a bug or proposed-function, I personally feel that is the most annoying part as it is so difficult to get three stars for that mini game especially when there are so much patterns to match yet little time to do so. On the other hand, the graphics are very well design. I really enjoy the movie animation, it is really cinematic. The soundtracks are not bad, it really get you into the detective mode!
However, if you are expecting Parker & Lane: Criminal Justice is similar with any other thrilling games out there which you have always been playing, please take a deep breath and throw away your expectation. The time management game setup makes the detective story line develops relatively slowly, which takes away from the urgency and the thrill of a murder mystery.
Not saying it is bad, but it is more onto each people's preferences. Like me, personally, I don't feel it is that bad because I love listening and reading stories, also I can't really take any extensive thrills so this series is perfectly fine for me. Parker & Lane: Criminal Justice also contains an overwhelming amount of dialogues, even the extensive conversations in some of the Delicious games did not prepare us for this. So if you are the type who enjoy stories such as I do, give this game a try.

I enjoyed being a detective and working in the lab, the story is good filled with mystery and trying to catch the criminal mastermind behind all the deaths. The only negative is, you can't set the difficulty at all. Some stages are super hard to pass and getting those 3 stars is a tough challenge, so if you are an achievement hunter like me. All you need is patience to push through the hard levels!! Some of the achievements are hard to get as well, logging in literally daily to play one level. I despise daily challenges, but damn it feels good having a 100% achievement completion. Would I recommend the game? It's 50/50 to be honest, if you love challenges and repeating a level then go for it. If not, then don't bother to get frustrated.
Hey Game House! What's with all the anti-medication stuff lately? First Amber's Airlines and now Parker and Lane? Abusing medicine is bad, yes. Implying that people who have to use medication to moderate their anxiety isn't good and makes me not want to keep buying your games if you're going to say that taking anxiety meds somehow makes me irresponsible or an addict or something. Not a happy customer.
I want to like this game more than I do. A bunch of people have already mentioned issues with the character development, plot, and sexism throughout the game, and in addition to those issues, there are parts of the game that seem unfairly difficult and frustrating. I usually enjoy time management games, both ones that are relaxed and ones with higher pressure, but in this game, a lot of the mini games either have timers that run out too quickly or are borderline incompatible with a laptop gaming setup. In particular, any of the "drag and drop" games were almost impossible to beat with full hearts while using the laptop touch pad. Using a mouse wasn't any easier. I've also noticed some serious glitches with the game, such as the daily challenges never resetting and music not playing in some of the levels-- although this seems to happen at random, rather than on the same specific levels.
Not good but not bad, this is the most weak of the gamehouse games i've played here on steam.

I really enjoyed the game. Please make more like this one. Or continue a storyline with Parker & Lane with family and friends.
While I did play Parker and Lane all the way to the end, it was more to say I completed the game rather than because I was having fun. The minigames were not as fun as others in the GameHouse series and there were a few times that the graphics glitched out and made things difficult to play properly. More than anything, though, I did not like the story or the main characters. The case is hardly above an episode of every cop show ever and Parker is incredibly dislikeable as a person. The intended tension between her and Lane is over the top and tiresome. Police officers and lawyers are often at odds, yes, but her being this jaded as an officer on her first case is annoying. There is no background given to explain her level of toxicity for lawyers, thus she's a stereotype and frustrating to listen to. Lane is a cardboard cutout with a sprinkling of drama but not much substance past the cliché backstory.
If you're a fan of the GameHouse series for the gameplay, you might like this one too but there are better titles in their roster.
Wow... so, I really do love the Delicious series a lot! They're fun, charming, great story and all around fun. I immediately recognized this game was the same style and artwork, so I bought it. I briefly read some reviews about the blatant sexism and terrible game mechanics and purchased it anyway. Why? Because I'm a beast at time management style games. This game, however, would not be worth the experience if it were free. The way the game referenced mental illness was awful, as if the game developers have not ever spoken to someone with anxiety. And the sexism, as one review put it, is just a lazy way to try to portray the main character's plight as the first female detective. It was executed in such a sloppy manner, that it turned me off. The actual mini games are unnecessarily clunky and disruptive. It was hard to get into the flow of the game or even really understand the plot compared to the Delicious series. It's seriously day and night and I highly recommend that you find another game to spend money and time on. I'm currently waiting on my refund, but I'll never get those 70 minutes back.
Sigh. I dunno. I've been thinking about this for a while, but I think in the end, I'm actually disappointed?
I don't think this game is as casual as a 'casual game' should be. There are... moments where it goes beyond challanging, and into frustrating. In one level, no matter how well I play repeatedly, I can't get beyond the 2 out of 3 stars needed to prefect it. The game crashed a lot too in the beginning, less so now but... And sometimes the backgrounds and assets didn't load. There's too many mini-games. By the end I felt like I was slogging through levels. It's just a bunch of little things like that, that made this tiresome to play in the end.
Storywise... The end was a little abrupt, but that's fine honestly. The story's kind of ignorable. The pacing is simulateously too fast and too slow. Besically, don't buy it for the mystery. It's just- the main character (Lily Parker) is irrirating and overbearing... It's unfortuante. If I'd liked her, I'd probably find the story more tolerable, but the whole time she's just incredible self-righteous and condescending. Lane (the other half of the title) has his moments too, but he's also clearly meant to be a character that's supposed to be a bit of an ass putting on a front- at least at first. And he's honestly pretty easy to grow on. Parker doesn't have that excuse. She's just plain unlikable.
I wish I'd tried a more reliable 'Delicious' game for my first foray into actually playing these time-management games. At the moment I just need a break. It's been several days but I'm still tired and frustrated thinking about it.
First of - the game itself is not bad. Not as good as Heart Hospital, which is more fun and involved, but not bad either.
That being said - I gave a bad rating because the sexism of this game is so blatant, bad enough that it had me end the game at one point and fume. The main female character is hysterical, slightly dumb, keeps repeating unprofessional slurs against a colleague and shames him for "being a girl."
She is sexually assaulted and does not officially report it (what the hell?), instead blames her partner. He in turn is being rude and sexually inappropriate towards her and a colleague in the workplace, who states "I don´t mind."
I mean, who wrote this game? Let me guess, some dudes who thought it funny that a woman should be a professional police investigator? It is 2018, the #Metoo movement is strong and clearly the video gaming industry is a sexist as ever. Good job guys.
