Bought the game, came home and turned on my computer, lauched the game, in next 10 minutes I start to feel that my ancestor gypsies are proud of me, this game should be called "Romanian people simulator". As a fellow romanian I enjoyed this game by a lot, it really is realistic. 10/10
Thief Simulator is a highly entertaining game that offers interesting quests and keeps you on your toes with its challenging mechanics. It took me 32 hours to complete the game 100% with all achievements, and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey.
The graphics are fantastic, creating an immersive atmosphere that pulls you into the life of a skilled thief. However, while the achievements are a nice touch, some being seasonal (Halloween and Christmas) can be a bit frustrating for completionists.
The handling could use a bit of refinement, and over time, the gameplay does start to feel somewhat repetitive. Still, the overall experience is engaging and fun, especially if you enjoy a mix of strategy and stealth.
Pros:

- Great graphics and immersive atmosphere
- Challenging mechanics
Cons:
- Seasonal achievements can be frustrating
- Handling could be smoother
- Repetitive over longer sessions
Despite a few minor drawbacks, Thief Simulator is a game I can definitely recommend. It’s a great choice for anyone who enjoys unique gameplay and a bit of strategic thinking!

Really fun game, but if it could be multiplayer it whole be one of the best games out there
A Repetitive and Boring Gameplay Loop
The gameplay loop is very repetitive and boring. The only reason I did not stop playing earlier is because you unlock new gadgets, and the gameplay diversifies a bit from only stealing to dismantling cars for parts and hacking terminals.
The Problem with Stealth Mechanics
However, the problem is the stealth itself. The AI is very bad. I'm not even having high expectations, but NPCs will simply never go to some rooms. You can get detected and simply run to a closet in another room, and they will forget.
I loved seeing the progression from stealing everything in the first "cheap" house to only choosing expensive-per-weight items to maximize every travel.
However, that's where the game gets boring. In the beginning, you would just enter when no one was home to avoid guards, but later in the game, there will always be people in the house. The game becomes a waiting game where you just wait for NPCs to move.
The game has very good ideas, but the gameplay is bad.

The core gameplay is so fun and addicting
The game itself is quite glitchy and janky but in my eyes thats also the beauty of it
Finding ways to exploit the jankiness is certainly one way of doing your objectives
A shitty game, I played for four hours and after I exited the game and re-entered it didn't let me continue the game on that profile and forced me to create another profile
My time bugged, i'm at 10 hours currently (I played offline)
W game. Gameplay fun.
Man I love shitty simulator games. The mechanics for stealing stuff and stealth are pretty good in this one too. Would probably even recommend this over TS2 (which I think is made by a different dev?)

I think it's a pretty enjoyable game but wouldn't say that it is much more than that. It hooks you in for a while but when it loses it's hook it gets a little boring. It's kinda repetitive and the houses become very basic after Greenview but other than that the game is great. But buy it when it's on sale ideally
This game is soli, maybe the diy lockpicking could be A LOT easier to do or the item have more durability, HOWEVER game is epic <3

This game is pretty great to get as long as its on sale. I enjoy the gameplay, but it does have not much replayability once you complete all of the missions. Overall a good game, but DO NOT GET THE SEQUEL! 9/10

this is not a bad game. I enjoyed it and will probably play again. but it's not a particularly good game either.

I'd only recommend buying this if its on sale and you're looking for a 2-3 hour diversion. I got it for just 2$ on sale, which was a good value.
The game is good, a little buggy if i'm being honest. I wouldn't say it's worth 20 dollars exactly...maybe 5.99. But good. Worth the purchase on a sale
I played for 30 hours, which is a hefty investment, so why the thumbs down? It’s because I like the “idea” of this game more than the game itself. Role playing as a modern-day thief/burglar is something I always wanted, and this is the only game that lets me do that. So, I sank a lot of hours into Thief Simulator to scratch that itch, but ultimately, I left unsatisfied.
Of note, the developer is either solo or a very small team. They listen to feedback, respond to discussion posts, and even put out a major update in 2024, which is impressive for a 6-year-old game. I like supporting small developers, and I bought this game cheap, so I don’t regret my purchase.
On the positive side, you steal stuff. You look for small, expensive items like jewelry and electronics. Larger items you must carry one at a time, and are much riskier to take. There’s decent progression, as you start off breaking windows, but eventually get skills and tools to quietly break all sorts of locks, including safes. You case locations, get hired for specific jobs, unlock phones, etc. All good. There is no combat, you either run of its game over.
One oddity is auto theft. The developer must really like cars, because when you steal a car, you quite literally break it down piece by piece. Down to the individual screws, and spark plugs. Whether that’s a pro or con is up to you.
On the negative side, the graphics are bad, even for 2018. Lighting especially is in a rough place, as it can pop in and out depending on distance. The animations are even worse, as the NPCS walk like they’re only remotely familiar with human locomotion. None of this really affects the core gameplay, though.
The real problem is the jank. This is one janky ass game. NPCs will fall through the earth, only to reappear at another location. They will leave their homes, and disappear into thin air. The AI is all over the place. They can see you through opaque décor like trees and bushes, but also ignore you if you sprint full speed a few feet behind them. One major problem is the game doesn’t tell you *what” set off an alarm, only that something did. There were so many times where I had no idea why I had been detected, since I tried to cover up my tracks. It seems NPCs notice the tiniest detail in the environment. But at the same time, I’ve stolen a car and driven right past its owner with no objection.
There’s also an incredible lack of freedom. You’re given all sorts of cool tools/skills, but every house only has 1 or 2 very specific ways in. You can get “trapped” on properties because you can’t jump a plain 4-foot-high fence. That just doesn’t make sense to me.
To recap: great idea for a game by a small developer. You can buy it for cheap to try it out. But due to the severe lack of polish, I can’t give the game itself a thumbs up.

Already beat it on xbox but this game is fun and challenging. Great story as well. The DLCs are good. They are on sale sometimes for like $2. They is a decent amount of replayability but some things you can only experience once. Great game though 9.5/10

I really wanted to like this. But, it is so finicky. Bulky inventory and tool management. Sneaking isn't precise or fun. Lots of weird things like getting trapped in a yard if your lockpick breaks or not being able to go through shutters.

I watched the youtuber Thinknoodes play thief simulator and back then and wanted to play it because it looked cool and story was good and now i bought it and the graphics looked terribe i am begging for this deveoper to change the game what it looked like in 2019 then this
just amazing. i bought this for 1,95 euro on sale, and i can confirm that even without the sale, it would be worth it. not the best at performance, but its nice,
This game is very good, enjoyable, and the controls feel nice. The routines are pretty good for being able to get to spots at certain times, but sometimes npcs will glitch and not know where to go when the routine changes making it hard to do things as they are places that they shouldn't be at specific times.
I've been playing this game since it released, originally on my switch. I got my new computer less than a month ago, and almost instantly I got this game. brings back memories.
If anyone wants a good simulator that isn't repetitiveness 24/7, this is the game for this. Good story. Good gameplay. Enjoyment: 9.5/10
This game has WAY more to offer than shown in the trailer, especially in the lategame.
First of all: you get a tutorial, which shows you what you can do with your starting gear: a crowbar and a flashlight. It teaches you all you need, like that you should avoid light scources when its night and so on...
The game without any DLCs is split into 3 parts: neighborhood, mansionsand industrial with increasing difficulty. And if thats still to easy for you, you can swich to the Hardmode via settings.
Caution: Hardmode isnt just hard, a better word would be "Hardcore".
It takes away your wallhacks and because with the games very quiet sounds, its really something else.
(Its only increasing difficulty, not required for anything)
Now away from the hardmode:
This game has a great storyline and ontop of that you can later buy a new car and a house, where you can put some furniture like tables or you can buy some wallpaper to color rooms as you like.
You can also steal a bunch of different cars, even a forklift.
To get all Steam achievements you need to do a lot of this, which arent required in the story, like stealing 5 vhs tapes, but some may help if you are low on money.
You dont need the DLCs to achieve 100% and you will have a fun time getting all achievements.
All in all:

Gets pretty stale quickly, also the auto locking when tenants get home is stupid, especially when you're LEAVING the house. You can unlock the door from the INSIDE.
for some reason the resolution options are 640x480 and that's it
i can't even play the game at that resolution
every house has state of the art security and nothing of worth stealing, its as if every house has bars of gold yet they live in basic housing but somehow have the money to buy the best security? how does that make sense? if you want a fun thief game where you can actually get rewarded for you effort just play payday.
it was actually really enjoyable until it wouldnt let me use lvl 1 lockpicks anymore im stuck on a mission because i have to break into a gate and even though i have lockpicks im unable to use them
This is a very good game for when you feel like getting away from people and joining a life of crime
I enjoyed it, but you might not.
It's a pretty janky game with weird physics and repetitive gameplay. I've enjoyed the simplistic gameplay loop of going into people's houses and stealing their expensive stuff. But there are quite a few things I dislike about this game.
There is no real way to distract guards or cops, so the only possible strategy is to wait until they move away (which sometimes might take a few minutes). In the second half of the game there is usually only one or two ways to enter the houses/farms/warehouses, which makes it play out almost the same way every time you have to go to one place multiple times. Car disassembly is needlessly detailed and takes too much time. Some mechanics are only used once or twice throughout the game (e.g. using the round lockpick, turning off the electricity, using the car keycloner etc.). And there are many other annoying things that make this game unenjoyable for players that are more sophisticated than my autistic ass.
Very sigma, very based, very alpha, very life changing, very fun, very skibidi.
Brilliant game, Bought for PC and console in the end. Fun and exciting, The longer you play the more stealth you need to be. I find it so much fun sneaking around, getting busted and figuring out new ways to get the job done. I'm excited to complete and get myself thief simulator 2. 10/10 for me on game play. Depending how you play it can drag early days in, don't waste cash on tips, i found that it slowed me down big time. Have fun and just avoid getting busted not knowing the tenants routines :) 100% recommend
Very fun. Because of this, i able to stole my neighbour tv irl and set their house on fire.
