I really wanted to like this. But, it is so finicky. Bulky inventory and tool management. Sneaking isn't precise or fun. Lots of weird things like getting trapped in a yard if your lockpick breaks or not being able to go through shutters.

I watched the youtuber Thinknoodes play thief simulator and back then and wanted to play it because it looked cool and story was good and now i bought it and the graphics looked terribe i am begging for this deveoper to change the game what it looked like in 2019 then this
just amazing. i bought this for 1,95 euro on sale, and i can confirm that even without the sale, it would be worth it. not the best at performance, but its nice,
This game is very good, enjoyable, and the controls feel nice. The routines are pretty good for being able to get to spots at certain times, but sometimes npcs will glitch and not know where to go when the routine changes making it hard to do things as they are places that they shouldn't be at specific times.
I've been playing this game since it released, originally on my switch. I got my new computer less than a month ago, and almost instantly I got this game. brings back memories.
If anyone wants a good simulator that isn't repetitiveness 24/7, this is the game for this. Good story. Good gameplay. Enjoyment: 9.5/10
This game has WAY more to offer than shown in the trailer, especially in the lategame.
First of all: you get a tutorial, which shows you what you can do with your starting gear: a crowbar and a flashlight. It teaches you all you need, like that you should avoid light scources when its night and so on...
The game without any DLCs is split into 3 parts: neighborhood, mansionsand industrial with increasing difficulty. And if thats still to easy for you, you can swich to the Hardmode via settings.
Caution: Hardmode isnt just hard, a better word would be "Hardcore".
It takes away your wallhacks and because with the games very quiet sounds, its really something else.
(Its only increasing difficulty, not required for anything)
Now away from the hardmode:
This game has a great storyline and ontop of that you can later buy a new car and a house, where you can put some furniture like tables or you can buy some wallpaper to color rooms as you like.
You can also steal a bunch of different cars, even a forklift.
To get all Steam achievements you need to do a lot of this, which arent required in the story, like stealing 5 vhs tapes, but some may help if you are low on money.
You dont need the DLCs to achieve 100% and you will have a fun time getting all achievements.
All in all:

for some reason the resolution options are 640x480 and that's it
i can't even play the game at that resolution
every house has state of the art security and nothing of worth stealing, its as if every house has bars of gold yet they live in basic housing but somehow have the money to buy the best security? how does that make sense? if you want a fun thief game where you can actually get rewarded for you effort just play payday.
it was actually really enjoyable until it wouldnt let me use lvl 1 lockpicks anymore im stuck on a mission because i have to break into a gate and even though i have lockpicks im unable to use them
This is a very good game for when you feel like getting away from people and joining a life of crime
I enjoyed it, but you might not.
It's a pretty janky game with weird physics and repetitive gameplay. I've enjoyed the simplistic gameplay loop of going into people's houses and stealing their expensive stuff. But there are quite a few things I dislike about this game.
There is no real way to distract guards or cops, so the only possible strategy is to wait until they move away (which sometimes might take a few minutes). In the second half of the game there is usually only one or two ways to enter the houses/farms/warehouses, which makes it play out almost the same way every time you have to go to one place multiple times. Car disassembly is needlessly detailed and takes too much time. Some mechanics are only used once or twice throughout the game (e.g. using the round lockpick, turning off the electricity, using the car keycloner etc.). And there are many other annoying things that make this game unenjoyable for players that are more sophisticated than my autistic ass.
Very sigma, very based, very alpha, very life changing, very fun, very skibidi.
Brilliant game, Bought for PC and console in the end. Fun and exciting, The longer you play the more stealth you need to be. I find it so much fun sneaking around, getting busted and figuring out new ways to get the job done. I'm excited to complete and get myself thief simulator 2. 10/10 for me on game play. Depending how you play it can drag early days in, don't waste cash on tips, i found that it slowed me down big time. Have fun and just avoid getting busted not knowing the tenants routines :) 100% recommend
Very fun. Because of this, i able to stole my neighbour tv irl and set their house on fire.
This game is quite jank, the controls are very bad, and there are a lot of very strange, random issues. for $1 ish I bought it hoping for a "fun-bad" game, but it's honestly quite boring and unpolished in the least fun ways.
It's too difficult for me.
I feel like an shabi when I play this.
I don't know the way, and sometimes I can't find the car after stealing.

if you see this game on sale, buy it. it's cheap as chips and i personally really enjoyed it, though nearing the end was starting a drag a bit. i love how it's a stealth game where you don't just kill everyone and proceed, and the amount of detail on things like the cars really was a pleasant surprise. a gripe i do have though is that the game can get a little buggy at times, but it's nothing that's game changing. overall, good times, please buy the game is good.

Fun game. Very entertaining. Can get you hooked for a couple of hours. Not the best graphics but still a good game.
Janky. Controls suck. The stuff you steal is back if you return to the houses. Not a finished game.

Perhaps I've played too many games to be impressed by this one.
The main plot revolves around you becoming a seasoned thief. After each successful heist or completed mission, you level up, upgrade your skills, and acquire new equipment. I don't hate this cycle, but the way it's presented feels uncomfortable and frustrating.
Wealthy houses are virtually impenetrable, forcing you to level up and acquire advanced skills before you can break in. This compels you to return to poorer houses to steal and practice your skills. Ironically, when you return, the houses are left with only worthless items, and you receive minimal experience. Moreover, once you break a door, you can take everything in the house without worrying (like an invisible person). It feels more like robbery than theft.
The game's graphics are truly terrible, feeling like a 2010 game.
The music is just as bad. There's no background music, everything is silent. Only when you're about to break in is there a suspenseful piece of music that's reused in every level. I also hate the music in house, and there's no way to turn it off.
Even with a 90% discount, I wouldn't recommend playing this game.
This game doesn't actually joke when you choose a hard difficulty which makes the game challenging as f*** and the feature that makes you upgrade you tools really holds well, and i also like the car mechanics which makes it unique because you don't just black screen and go to the next location, you can actually drive it 10/10.
Dude has not the profile of a typical thief. But it is nice. Too much to improve, loads of potential

The game would've been a lot better if the developers were to fix the sheer amount of bugs from SIX YEARS AGO!
This is one of my favourite games up to date. I played it once when I was a teenager by downloading a very old version off a shady website, but now years later, I got the real thing and I'd say this game is definitely worth its cost. Open world, not-so-complex and easy to handle game is a rare combination which this game achieves, as well as being fun with it's main story line. Yeah, there is a lot of grinding moments but they're fun too as this game requires you to think of actual strategies. Would recommend playing it if you're into these type of games.
It's a great game though I do prefer the 2nd installment because of the graphics the game (in my personal opinion) it has very little story so it does not matter which one you decide to play
I don't think someone can explain the nostalgia for this game I have. When i got my first gaming laptop I wanted to buy two games, Thief simulator and teardown (also worth it i put 300 hours into that game) and i had only recently gotten into gaming and the old laptop i had before just couldn't run those games, so i got my gaming laptop and I went and purchased the games i wanted (also installed steam which is the only PC game launcher i like) and when I got this game, i played the shit out of it... JK of course not i got onto the 5th mission and got stuck and moved onto teardown but because the campaign of that game was ridiculously hard, or i was just dumb i got very pissed and i was like "damn i can't play these games" so i then bought grand theft auto V to try the multiplayer. Of course didn't like it so i tried the campaign and i really liked it and all the while that was happening i beat teardown and sank too much time into the sandbox and now i started modding the game, very fun but thief simulator was there sitting around. I felt like i had wasted my 30 dollars all those years ago; i had gotten more games like red dead redemption 2 and a billion more but thief simulator was just there. So i went and tried it and would you look at that 84 hours into thief simulator and now as i think of it the game wasn't really that good but if you guys were complaining about the game being tedious or clunky would you just shut the frick up you don't praise call of duty modern warfare 2 for being a great game it was a broken unbalanced mess but you guys didn't care because it was fun sure thief simulator is a bit tedious but the grind for camos comous or however they're spelt was tedious but it was fun.
conclusion: thief simulator is great fun and if you are a true man you play this game and if you complain about it you are a whiny little biitch who complains about this game and thief simulator 2 just doesn't have the same charm that the original has and american theft 80s feels like an unrelated game with the same genre which has a whole different setting, skill system, minigames and so on. What i'm trying to say is that this game may not be a masterpiece but everyone calls grand theft auto san andreas a great game when it really isn't but people don't care because its FUN, THIS GAME IS FUN WHY DO PEOPLE CARE ABOUT THIS GAME BEING CLUNKY WHEN THE OLD CLASSICS THEY LOVE ARE CLUNKY PIECES OF REALLY FUN TRASH WHEN I SAID THIS GAME WASN'T A MASTERPIECE I LIED ITS THE GREATEST GAME IN HUMAN HISTORY AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH 10/10

Uses engine assets for everything, repetitive gameplay, and somehow tanks my computer despite loading in maybe 15 objects at a time. Poorly programmed mess, I have NO idea how it somehow tricked enough idiots to buy it in order to spawn a sequel. Get this on sale 90% off or don't get it at all.

As a romanian I can confirm this game replicates perfectly a typical day in Bucharest. This is the best romania simulator on the market, it changed my life. You steal things from small house, you buy tool, steal from bigger house. Great!!
I dont like the graphic and it no theory or point in the game. I wonder if we will rob stores, car lot , banks, because robbing house is good, but i need more theory to complete.
Pretty nice, i think it is a nice game to enjoy for a couple hours, more than that will just be grinding and tedious.

While some parts can get a bit repetitive, the thrill of outsmarting homeowners and leveling up your skills keeps things exciting. 7/10
Let's start with positives, this game is a lot of fun for what it is. It's a short yet engaging game that is true to its title, there is a lot to do in the base game alone so you can spend quite some time getting S rank or emptying a property for maximum cash and EXP. But there are some problems with this game.
If you decide to buy this don't do so at full price, it's a fun BUT janky game. But not the fun kind of jank, the kind that frustrates you because some NPC's have impeccable hearing and sight while others might actually be legally deaf and blind and there is only some consistency to this. Some times the police just...go through walls? Both the cars and the officers themselves.
I like this game, I had fun with most of the time I spent with it and I think most people would if you don't take the game TOO seriously but I cannot in good conscious recommend you purchase this game at full price, its just not polished enough even at a simple $30 (Australian dollars, that is).
One of very limited times you are able to hit pedestrians with a crowbar, ram a car into pedestrians again and again with little consequence, and make homeowners tremble and watch as you leave with a TV found in their bathroom worth hundreds of dollars
With this new bathroom TV money I just needed to purchase and play Thief Simulator, very good game 10/10
Similar to Drug Dealer Simulator where as you shouldnt try to recreate in real life....doesnt have the best endings...fun game tho
Pretty fun, I'd give it a 4/5, only really annoying things about the game are the safe cracking, hacking gaming, and the later parts when people "living" on the premises will be able to take you down with stun guns.

its a very cool game and i like the story of it and i find it quite interesting and i like that if you find the game to easy you can switch to hard mode and they could of added a bitt more stuff like ladders but then there is thief sim 2 which i will check out but overall its a very cool game so if you like sneaking around and robbing people then this is the game for you
I like this Game, I really do. But sometimes the Jank from the Officers is so infuriating that it can sometimes ruin alot of robberies. Still the concept is awesome and I still really like it.
But please fix some of the Jank this game has to offer, like AI etc.
Definitely one of the better unconventional simulator games currently on Steam.
