absolutely incredible.. id say 12+ age rating for suggestive scenes (stealing from people etc.) the most violent part is being tased, which happens in an instant and is totally non-graphic. also the ending of the story mode has |||||| SPOILER WARNING! |||||| -- relatively mild explosions

Great game, I feel how immersive it is and when im running from the cops or hiding in a closet; you can feel the thrill of it and taking apart cars (low key kinda hard) is also fun, taking stuff to the pawn shop is also great.


I know im a little late to a review but if you have then you NEED to, if you like try thief simulator 2 (EVEN better)

Really fun game despite having technical flaws such as being seen through walls etc.

But this kinda comes with the type of game this is and is not meant to be taken too seriously.

Let's be honest, most of Playway's catalog is low effort sim game slop, this one stands up a little better than the others and for $2 on sale you can't complain too much. A little bit of problem solving with routines and patrols to find the best angle of attack, but not much depth and the AI is quite dumb. Not a bad game but not great either, it's just an ok game.

it is an interesting play. good story and tons to do after.

I got this game on Nintendo Switch and it always used to hurt my head to play. So, I'm glad I gave it another shot on the PC, as I've been having an absolute blast. It's totally nerve-wracking and you have to have a strategy at each location, but those are two things that get me hooked on a game.
As someone who grew up well-behaved, but playing games like Yandere Simulator (ew), I've always found it very cathartic to play games where I can "be bad" and not actually cause real-world damage. Thank you Developers, and please have my recommendation :)

It's.. Alright, but a big issue I have is that the AI traffic is utterly stupid and wouldn't let me back into my car, because apparently they don't know how to navigate around a car, and constantly kept rear ending my parked vehicle until they called the cops. Still couldn't get into my car to move it, despite the fact my door wasn't blocked at all.

amazing story for a simulator

Controls are a bit janky and the storyline is pretty much just there to point you at the next skill to learn and/or tool to buy but it's still fun to play

The fact that I only have 10 hours in this game so far is crazy to me. It's so much fun, and feels like I've played it for at least 20. While I unfortunately do not have enough experience with breaking into buildings in real life, it is extremely satisfying to push down a lock's pins with the correct timing, sneak around people in their own home, and evade the police. 9/10

legitimately a terribly made game. abnormal amount of bugs for a game that copies the layout of every other simulator on the market. story is extremely straight-forward and allows for very little exploration outside of the story-line. the addition of contracts is great and adds to exploration aspects, but is monotonous as usual.

Para los que les gusta los juegos de sigilo es una buena opcion pero no esperen un juego deslumbrante tampoco porque en cuanto a historia es bastante basico e incluso puede volverse repetitivo.

Starts off slow but once you play it for a while it gets a lot funner.

I decided to buy Thief Simulator while it was on sale, but I personally did not enjoy it. For starters, the cricket ambience in the background was absolutely deafening for me and was giving me a headache, with no way to turn it down or off other than turning off the sound entirely. Secondly, pedestrians on the sidewalks would somehow see me while I am inside the house (even while not making noise and out of sight in a dark, windowless room) and immediately call the police, making most of my runs impossible. Thirdly, the game gets repetitive quickly: go in house, steal things, get out. Although I am sure others would love this game, the bugs and gameplay loop made Thief Simulator unenjoyable.

It has pretty good mechanics but I would go deeper into improving the bugs since it has quite a few, such as the fact that NPCs see you very easily even if you are hiding (I have lost many missions because of that) it is also annoying that the police catch you when they crash your car and you have to do it again

Overrated low effort junk. I don't know how this game has sold so well and maintains a "Very Positive" review score. It's still very buggy, NPCS floating around constantly. The overall loop is repetitive and there doesn't appear to be anything special to work towards.

Not bad for simulator, game still have problems like I can't change car sensitivity even if I have that option in settings, I am rn robbing house 4 and I'll give this game a thumbs up.

Someone made fun of my avatar and sent me a clown emoji, is this meant to humiliate me or something? it's not working, it's just kind of pissing me off. How do I get rid of it? Anyways, games fun, bugs are funny, its worth the 2 bucks on sale, for retail I dont recommend it.

i robbed a 80 year old grandma. broke 16 windows. tried to murder 11 innocent people. got taken by the cops atleast 10 times. then i went home and played this game :D

For $2 on super sale, Thief Simulator is a... steal?? I've only played some and I am already having a ton of fun sneaking around, casing joints, hiding from cops, and of course, stealing junk and selling it to a creepy pawn shop guy and even creepier junkyard guy. I had no expectations for this game but I am sure to get dozens of hours of stealth stealing fun out of it. Growing up, I loved the Thief games, and this kinda scratches that itch after so many years. Try it out!

The idea is good, effort is also ok but it is too repetitive, game progression is good but it's also long, you are basicaly doing the same thing in different areas. Graphics and some features like car physics are horrible, click and hold system so weak, devs added so many things in this game but it's boring so quickly. Ive played time to time and hit 30 hours, im regretful tbh, if it was shorter , it would be like a nice snack , cheap price with ~10 hours of fun. I moved really fast but still could not complete the game in that 30 hours. Moreover it has 2 DLC 's. Definetely nope.

This game is more about bugs than features, making it a masterclass in how not to make a game. If you're looking for a laugh at the expense of a game's sheer audacity to be so janky, Thief Simulator is your ticket. Just don't expect to actually enjoy the experience of being a thief - it's more like a comedy of errors than a stealth sim.

Trash game. Look at someone at the wrong time of day and the cops are on your ass. Fuck this annoying piece of shit game. The game Devs should be garbage men, since that seems to be all they can handle.

Wonderful game, graphics are superb, and the story line just makes sense. 9.5/10 game but the only thing I would change is a little glitch that enables the mouse to begin flashing and whenever its flashed on you cant move in game and vise versa but this was easily fixed by unplugging unneccesary utilities (my zyn)

Thief Simulator is such a fun game if you’re into sneaky, steal-everything-you-can gameplay. There’s just something so satisfying about scoping out a house, figuring out the best way in, and making off with the loot. The whole planning and executing a heist thing? Super addictive.

The tools are cool, and unlocking better ones as you go keeps it interesting. I loved figuring out how to break into tougher spots and then selling everything off at the pawn shop or black market—it’s a weirdly fun loop that kept me hooked.

That said, the AI can be kind of dumb sometimes. Like, how does one neighbor not notice me smashing their window while another catches me just for crouching in their yard? 😂 Also, the neighborhoods start feeling a little samey after a while, but it’s not a huge deal.

Overall, it’s just a good time. If you want a chill game where you can play as a master thief without, you know, getting arrested, definitely give this one a shot!

Game felt clunky, unrefined, and was buggy. Almost every time I would try to hide from the cops in the large bins, their cars would glitch and they would get stuck around me for far longer than they should have been turning it into Waiting Simulator.

Bought the game, came home and turned on my computer, lauched the game, in next 10 minutes I start to feel that my ancestor gypsies are proud of me, this game should be called "Romanian people simulator". As a fellow romanian I enjoyed this game by a lot, it really is realistic. 10/10

Thief Simulator is a highly entertaining game that offers interesting quests and keeps you on your toes with its challenging mechanics. It took me 32 hours to complete the game 100% with all achievements, and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey.

The graphics are fantastic, creating an immersive atmosphere that pulls you into the life of a skilled thief. However, while the achievements are a nice touch, some being seasonal (Halloween and Christmas) can be a bit frustrating for completionists.

The handling could use a bit of refinement, and over time, the gameplay does start to feel somewhat repetitive. Still, the overall experience is engaging and fun, especially if you enjoy a mix of strategy and stealth.

Pros:
- Interesting and varied quests
- Great graphics and immersive atmosphere
- Challenging mechanics

Cons:
- Seasonal achievements can be frustrating
- Handling could be smoother
- Repetitive over longer sessions

A Repetitive and Boring Gameplay Loop
The gameplay loop is very repetitive and boring. The only reason I did not stop playing earlier is because you unlock new gadgets, and the gameplay diversifies a bit from only stealing to dismantling cars for parts and hacking terminals.

The Problem with Stealth Mechanics

However, the problem is the stealth itself. The AI is very bad. I'm not even having high expectations, but NPCs will simply never go to some rooms. You can get detected and simply run to a closet in another room, and they will forget.
I loved seeing the progression from stealing everything in the first "cheap" house to only choosing expensive-per-weight items to maximize every travel.
However, that's where the game gets boring. In the beginning, you would just enter when no one was home to avoid guards, but later in the game, there will always be people in the house. The game becomes a waiting game where you just wait for NPCs to move.

The game has very good ideas, but the gameplay is bad.

Police goes through walls, music stops everytime you open a menu, ugly and clunky UI, no interaction whatsoever with NPCs

simple lock pick is so hard to use that i hate the game because of it

the game is fun but because of the simple lock pick it is unplayable

its very fun to mess around on for about an hour, the story is okay but it doesn't play the biggest role in the game. its very replayable overall its a good game and fun to mess around on.

The core gameplay is so fun and addicting
The game itself is quite glitchy and janky but in my eyes thats also the beauty of it
Finding ways to exploit the jankiness is certainly one way of doing your objectives

A shitty game, I played for four hours and after I exited the game and re-entered it didn't let me continue the game on that profile and forced me to create another profile

My time bugged, i'm at 10 hours currently (I played offline)
