this game is so bad. do not get it, even though it says a "simple physics" game, it is not simple and the physics are actual ass. the dev definitely their education from a mcdonalds drive through if this is what they think "physics" is.

Horrible physics. The slightest inconsistency in the placement of the movable platforms will have vastly different outcomes.

Trashware. Avoid at all costs. Unless you want to be disappointed with a "Physics Puzzle Game" that is completely random, has no level selection and comes with 50 odd useless achievements.

akda is a "template" flip. The "developer" filled out a basic template in the craptastic ClickTeam Fusion construction kit, changed the name/reskinned a couple of things, and put it on Steam as if it was their own game. It's a very basic minimalist mobile app/Flash style puzzle game where you tap your screen to release a ball and make sure the ball lands in the cup. Very shallow, pointless, and with no merit or value for serious gamers.

From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics.

The game features extremely lazy, minimalist "art", of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing.

The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just point and click stuff like a browser/Flash game. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here.

Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the Clickteam Fusion game engine/toolset - the "No-Code" construction kit that "Anyone can make games with!!". Including, you know, people who aren't game developers. Which is a problem. This is a very poor quality toolset sometimes used by amateur developers as it's free (so they don't have to pay for GameMaker Studio) and doesn't require advanced game development skills, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities (it's arguably worse than GameMaker Studio). Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine.

The very poor quality of this game puts it squarely on-par with ancient 1990's Flash/Java games, and given it's 2023 (and this was released not so far back in 2017), gamers and the industry expect and deserve better than this kind of low effort shovelware.

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 7 players. That's right, only 7. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is to be expected. Gamers just didn't take this low quality game seriously, and for good reason.

akda is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.

Akda claims to be a simple puzzle type game, but it isn't. This game relies almost entirely on luck. Even after copying a guide, if you're a fraction of a black dot off, the ball will be either be sent off the screen, or will stop completely once it has hit whatever was in its way.
Both issues force you to retry the same level a dozen times, if not more, just to complete it.
Manually restarting once a ball has gone out of bounds gets tiring, but the music's nice, I guess. While it's possible to complete, it's not worth the hassle, or the full price.

Terrible physics in a physics based game. It's only worth it if you're looking for games where you can "easily" farm 100% achievements.

Atrocious physics puzzler, hosting invisible walls and occasionally requiring pixel-sharp solutions

I admit, I messed up launching this title. It is a conscious decision of mine that I do not purchase or play Snkl Studios titles because they usually look so bad. Somehow, I've both bought and added it to my playlist anyway. Now I know why I had that rule from first-hand experience.

The base idea of akda is actually workable: you have one or more balls, held by clamps. Releasing the ball, you maneuver girders to correct orientation to guide the balls to their respective baskets. Sometimes girders are breakable or freely moved, and sometimes blocks or boxes move automatically.

It is these freely moved or moving girders that cause the most of the issues.

Atrocious level design

Levels are usually either too easy, or physics nightmares where the freely moving girders have to be precisely in the right position to solve the puzzle. Not only that, the auto-moving blocks make this into a timing task. And when you have to succeed 2 or 3 times in a row, it frankly sucks.

Challenging, yes, but not in the right, intellectually challenging way - just in the way that trial and error is challenging.

Account for that girder orientations reset and you have to re-click them to right orientation each try. Once a ball has been released, the orientation cannot be changed. Both of these design decisions break the flow.

In addition, there's sometimes invisible blocks, and the physics does not make sense. E.g. the moving blocks do not give momentum to the balls, instead they just reflect off them, so the speed of the moving block does not come into it.

This all makes for a frustrating experience.

Resounding no

Thirty (30) levels lasted about 45 minutes for me, but mostly because of the physics-based trial & error: I knew the solution but the physics didn't "let me" perform it. It's a fairly easy game but incredibly annoying at times.

Additionally, there's a slight case of achievement spam. Several achievements per level pop up throughout levels 1-10, until that ends and two achievements (for beating levels 20 and 30) remain. I could understand 1 achievement per completed level, but not this atrocity. Only good thing about them is that they could work for profile decoration purposes, since the game is not limited.

Let's make physics irrelevant in physics-based game. What could possibly go wrong?

AKDA is basically a bunch of random stuff happening at unexpected moments that makes you go WTF at different times.

This game is wrong in every aspect, but undeniably the worst is its description. A simple physical puzzle. It's literally anything but that... Expecting this incoherent mess to be a simple physical puzzle is like looking for a white nationalist reggae band.

Really, don't bother. This game would cost you ~1.5 hours, 0,78€ and your sanity. It's not worth it, trust me.

Complete Garbage

A confusing timing-game disguised as a puzzle game, with noticeable core mechanics-flaws like irregularities with the physics making it difficult to decide if Your current guessed configuration was correct or not. Guessing, something that that shouldn't be - but is - such a big part of the game because the unpredictability of the collision-detection.

The achievements should be the only reason to play through this game - however that tedious guess-fest consisting of 30 levels.

every level you have to figure out the way to the solution but thats just half of way because its VERY
dependant from the right timing. And im speaking of miliseconds here.Sometimes its even mere impossible
and you have to try many many times and in the end you just have to be lucky.
So its a very frustrating game, the psysics of the ball is horrible like others said. This game is far from being enjoyable. It is merely playable at all..if you got the game in the Snkl Studio bundle i recommend to refund it.

akda is marketed as "A simple physical puzzle". This is not a puzzle game. A puzzle can be achieved as many times as you like once you understand the solution. This relys almost purely on dumb luck.

Level 6 took me at least 50 tries to pass it.
