Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden — то, что нужно, чтобы удовлетворить свою страсть к пошаговым стратегиям.
Поддерживаемые языки: english, french, italian, german, spanish - spain, japanese, korean, polish, portuguese - brazil, russian, simplified chinese

It's quite a nice game. Similar to XCOM2 but smaller in scope. And it's not a bad thing! It offers good amount of tactical fights with ability to use stealth to make them easier. There is character progression as well as global perks available. They are not super extensive or deep or have tons of variance but they are well-paced to match game progression and do give you a satisfying feeling of your characters growing stronger.
It's an AA game and you will have fun. Also, humor in the game's lore and writing is subtle and superb!
Another XCOM like Tactical Strategy Game but with RPG elements. Worth a play through and is rather enjoyable experience. Any fan of XCOM should have this game in their library.
Base game is pretty decent for someone who likes turn-base games. The storyline is quite predictable and average. The game pretend that you have more ways how to deal with each fight. However there is only one or two which are really effective in the end.
There is a lot of potential here that has only been partially exploited. That's a bit of a shame
The combat and graphics are pretty good. Don't expect challenging boss fights or anything - the endings (core + expansion) just kind of happen. Oh, and there are a bunch of bugged achievements which is super annoying (and shouldn't be allowed by Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox).
The customization/skill tree is VERY lackluster. Most of the ability options are copied between the characters. I think the moose's fire breathing is the only unique ability. The characters definitely don't feel as unique as the ones in Showgunners, for example.
The universe is interesting, but the stories are abysmal. They go nowhere and effectively resolve nothing.
If it's on sale, I'd recommend it for some fun turn based combat. Just don't get too into the universe - it's as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle.
I'd say this is a solid 6.5/10 game. The controls need work (be wary of space bar fast forwarding but also moving your dudes), the "leveling system" isn't all that deep, and once you learn the combat of sneak -> kill everything solo -> fight boss (an maybe 1 other) it becomes sort of easy. Fun few hours sunk into it but it's not an all that deep game.
The controls are terrible, yet an other game trying to force console/mobile interface on PC gamers. I cannot how many times I rage quited because of accidentally pressed a key. Apart from that hard to describe what is wrong with the game, feel like the abilities doesn't allow you to get tactical, you are guaranteed to take damage, and your tactical options are very limited.
Solid game. Could use a bit more skills and choices there but that is minor quibble. Also all passives should be active at once I think. 9/10.
It will scratch the same itch as Xcom 2, but don't expect a perfect game. It's a fun experience if you can accept the many flaws such as small party size, limits on mutations for seemingly no reason, and sometimes frustrating/unclear stealth mechanics.
enjoying it immensely
Nice game , like the concept but find the difficulty levels too much even on normal (the easiest setting). Each time we enter a combat situation the enemy has higher health and more combatants (3 against 6 all with nearly double our health make for a difficult encounter). Even sniping enemies quietly doesn't often work as many opponents have to high health to take out with 3 silent weapons.
I bought the game recently, and absolutely love it.
The story and characters are pretty good (even if one can see some of the threads to where the story goes), and the gameplay is quite versatile. In Normal you can take on bigger odds since you can recover all your health after the combat. In Hard, things become quite tricky since you need to conserve med kits and stealth becomes essential (so yeah, invest in survivability from the beginning and in a silent weapon per character to be able to reduce the weakest and more distant enemies before they can ask for help).
Bit O' Fun. I recommend this game. One of the main protagonists is a Duck Man :)
It is a good game, I refunded it and purchased again, because I hadn't understand that it is just a stealth game... but it is always the same thing, but it is short and fun
this game is so good but its hard
Kinda like Xcom. I like that it requires actual tactical thinking and preparation, at least if you play on hard.
GAME PLAY IS TOO HARD. npcs have better health levers, armor and weapons. Miserable game play. Very frustarting. Overwhelming odds against you. No choice in start up characters or load outs. Should be an easier mode in starting game.
Combat so far feels like this: You're always heavily outnumberd/-leveled, so you have to sneak around and try to pick off inidividual enemies. If you fail to kill them in one turn and stealthed, reload the game. Not enjoyable at all.
I enjoy games like Xcom but honestly I'm not very good at them. I'm really enjoying this game, the free roam map and the tactical battles is a super solid mix in this game
Yes it is really a nice game with a really great world. Characters are really nice and fun to use. The gameplay looks like XCOM 2, but WAY more like a puzzle game and that is the main problem with this game. You really have the feeling that sometimes there is just one specific way to beat an area, and that sadly ruins a bit the fun. Overall It is a great game tho.
I hope we will see a second chapter
Very nice game. Battles are interesting and engaging, progression system - well thought out, items - joy to collect. The exploration mode seems a bit off, as is the ending - it's obviously rushed.
Overall, it is a solid game, well worth a play.
Glad i found this on a sale, its a game i wouldn't normally look at but I am having a blast playing it! I recommend this game
Recommended for all those X-com fans and lovers of the tactics games. The setup and the feeling of this game is amazing. I am enjoying every minute of it.
Bought on sale. Not pleased. Biggest annoyance, if you have a music volume control, then don't leave music playing when i turn it off. there is always a low level loop going on. Controls are bad such that you do moves that you didn't want. Very low resources and you have to search everything to get those. For those who want to do meaningless walking around, then perhaps this game is for you. I have to say the longer i play this game the more annoyed i am with the whole thing. Game value w/ DLC approx $5
good game, lots of fun. you'll get new characters to play pretty quickly don't worry
Absolute gem of a game!
This is not an easy game. You'll need every med-pack, grenade, and piece of scrap (currency) you can get your grubby little mitts on. That's if you play on "Normal", the easiest difficulty.
Now, if you're into strategy games like XCOM, you'll be at home here; if you like the aesthetics of STALKER, you'll be happy with the vibes, and if you've never experienced either but enjoy the idea of Fallout, then this is still for you.
All in all, there are a few bugs, but none game-breaking. It can be quite frustrating, and it's a bit shorter than I expected (I was thrown off by the 'session' indicator on the load/save screen), but if there were a sequel out today, I'd buy it. Give it a try. If you make it past the first hour or two, you'll probably enjoy the game as a whole.
Couple of hours in and liking it.
Unfortunately I can't seem to be able to find the fun in this game, and I don't really understand how it has so many positive reviews.
Yes, I suppose that this is technically a turn based combat game with RPG mechanics, but I think I can summarise it a little bit better in fewer words: puzzle game. Also, it isn't that I am not a fan of puzzle games, they just need to be done right. This is a bad puzzle game with SO many extra steps.
Combat in this game is all about not being seen for as long as possible, taking out as many people as you can on the fringes of the encounter, and then perfectly utilising the abilities of your characters to take little to no damage. The reason why you need to find out how to solve this puzzle, play it perfectly, fight as few enemies as possible, and take as little damage as possible, is because all of the enemies massively outclass you outside of your first few encounters. Groups either become massive, or they get filled with extremely tough opponents.
Normally you would think that, if this is such a stealth game, you could find routes to go around. Maybe do some optional quests or utilise different character abilities to avoid combat completely and just move on through; but no. That is not a thing that can happen. Your characters have no skills they can increase, for example: traps to get through an optional minefield, or hacking, to unlock a door to go around. This is not a part of the game.
You increase passive combat abilities and active combat abilities, and use these to puzzle your way through combat. Shoot this guy on the edge with your silenced guns, wait until those two enemies are just the right distance away that you can bull-rush and knock down a third enemy, because you cannot kill him in a round of silent shooting and need a second round; and on and on it goes. You need to figure it out just right, or you will die.
I don't want to puzzle it out and do it the exact way that the developers made for the situation. I want a roleplaying game where I can give the pig a gigantic gun, huge armour, and explode all my foes, for example.
I will give the game credit though when it comes to how the game looks and sounds, and how good of a job the voice actors do. The game looks gorgeous, and I love that having different characters selected when looking at things can give you different voice lines. It really builds up and creates an atmosphere I really appreciated. The world is very vague. You just get what little you have on your beaten up map, but what is there is masterfully done. The voice actors do such a great job that I wanted to hear all of the banter as I went through, when normally in a lot of games I just tune it all out. The characters are great and really entertaining, and the interactions they have with each other is so good. I just wish that the rest of the game could have lived up to it. The combat system isn't all that bad. If it had just been reworked a little bit, I am sure I would have been a huge fan of this game.
Oh well. At least I got it on a really good sale, so I don't feel too bothered about it. If you are interested in the game, download the demo first to see if you actually like the core aspect of this game, the puzzle-combat; because it seems like a lot of people do. Personally though, I didn't enjoy the game, so I don't feel like I can recommend it.
Xcom like game. Story is good enough to keep you focused. Managing resources at the beginning of game can be brutal, but once you figure it out (go all in on silenced weapons), it's a great romp. If you are a turn-based junkie this will get your itch scratched. All in all worth your cash. If you see it on discount just go for it.
Gameplay is great, has fresh elements and mechanics.
It is kinda linear, but that fits to story narrative quite nice.
Playtrough feels very short and rushed. Base is very good and with very little effort, whole experience could be much longer. Just make character levels go slower, and add some reasons to revisit locations (story, respawning enemies, side quests...). Also difficulty is weird - 3 selections are like 30%,95%,100%, especially when you are new in game. More granularity would help here.
Nice and light game :D
Just amazing
Great game not easy but worth every penny
В первый раз когда играл показалось сложной, но это видимо я был не в настроении. Игра отличная, даже не знаю что еще можно порекомендовать фанатам XCOM.
Very good and fun tactical RPG.
At first, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden was a tough sell for me—the nonhuman characters made it difficult to get into the story. But after playing Miasma Chronicles, I decided to give it another shot, and I’m glad I did.
The characters are all fascinating, with snippets of dialogue that always leave you wanting more. The story follows a trend with the developers—another post-apocalyptic setting that, while bleak, has its own strange beauty. I don’t see that as a downside, though. There’s something compelling about the way these worlds are built, blending danger, survival, and mystery into an immersive experience.
Mechanically, Mutant Year Zero is brutal. This isn’t usually my style of gameplay, but I can absolutely see the appeal for fans of turn-based tactics. Resources are scarce, abilities feel unique, and equipment is highly specialized, meaning every encounter demands careful planning. Do you use that grenade now and hope to scavenge another, or hold onto it for a more desperate fight? Can you afford to leave a teammate down for one more turn to line up the perfect shot? The game forces you to think ahead, and that tension makes every battle feel rewarding.
I’d highly recommend Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden to fans of tactical, survival-driven strategy games, but also to anyone who enjoys post-apocalyptic storytelling. Even if this isn’t your usual genre, it’s worth giving a shot—you might just find yourself hooked like I did.
Really like this game!
11/10 they've cooked with this one
There are some frustrating aspects, particularly the lack of local map and set amount of loot, XP, and materials in the game. Overall, though, it is entertaining and enjoyable. More than many strategy based combat games, it gets like a puzzle, figuring out which order to take enemies out and how... If you rush into battle more-or-less the same way every time, there are areas that might remain impossible, and if you build up the wrong weapons, you won't be able to max the best. Exploring everything thoroughly, it took about 24 hours of gameplay to win the storyline; haven't checked out the Mutant Trials thingy.
It's save everywhere, so, save often, and same goes for fast travel back to the Hub to upgrade weapons (mods can be moved from one to another there, too).
Audio: 3
Good voice acting, effects, and atmospheric music.
Visual: 4
Great character design, effects and map models.
Story: 3
A decent post apocalyptic rescue story. Basically gives a reason for your characters to be doing what they're doing. You're gonna be playing more for the gameplay than the story. Worth noting that MYZ is a turn based tactics game, not an RPG. Non of your actions can change the story.
Gameplay: 4
Great gameplay if you like a challenge. Odds are stacked against you. Plan ahead, use all the tools at your disposal, fight dirty, or you will get stuck. I love that there is more emphasis on planning and tactics than gear. My only complaint is the UI for character management is a bit clunky.
Value: 4
Great value. I got about 20 hours playtime on hard, and liked it enough to purchase the DLC expansion. Will probably do another run in a few years.
Overall: 3.6 / 5
Very good game. I'd highly recommend if you like turn based tactics games or are interested in trying one.
Mutant Year Zero is a very fun TRPG although it lacks a bit of polish. I really enjoyed the story even though there is not much of it. The dialogue between the characters is nice and you quickly connect with them. I like the whole Mutant theme. The combat is all stealth and there is really only one way to play the game but the character abilities are fun. I played the DLC and it was a bit harder and more diverse but still fun. Solid game and worth one or two play throughs.
great game, scratches that xcom itch big time
Hidden Treasure
PRO: I loved this game. Story is minimal yet interesting enough to add some depth and make you feel like there is a reason for doing what you are doing. I love the combat system. It is turn based and in my opinion it is right up there with the greats like Fallout 2 and X-com 2. Where it differs from those is the stealth mechanic which essentially allows you to scale the difficulty of each battle as you can sneak around and take out enemies one by one or take them all on at once in a large battle. The weapons and skills are all really well balanced and give you a lot of room to grow and explore different strategies. The games atmosphere is also very well done both visually and acoustically.
CON: My one complaint, and it is a big one, is that I wish you could adjust the camera as the locked position it is in can make exploring very difficult. It's very easy to get turned around or lost and in my opinion it can shatter the immersion of the game in certain areas or environments.
Great game!!! XCOM is my all time favorite and when I saw it was comparable, took the plunge and have not been disappointed. I own the RPG and the miniatures game as well. LOVE the genre, story and characters with all the personality you could ask for!!!
I enjoyed this game very much. Some what linear in its story but the story and tactical fights is what makes it good. Style is similar to the newer XCOM games (not the one from the 90s) and is not as complex as the Jagged Alliance series.
Although simple, it does get a bit hard for only 3 characters at a time. Gear is expensive and you dont ever heal by resting. (you actually have to use medkits) The special skillsets is where one applies strategy for the tactical fights.
Its a good game and found myself coming back from work ready to play each night. But its not that easy.
I am enjoying running around a wasteland as a furry ambushing the nasties.
Great voice-acting and general art direction. It is more on the puzzle side than tactics, but still highly recommended for all the turn based tactics fans.
If you like turn based games, you will probably like this one too. The tactical element of this game is real, won't be able to do it brainlessly. Surprisingly action rich for a turn based game, somtimes the adrenaline kicks bigger even than in some action games. The game can become a bit repeatitive (not seriously, it is well balanced) towards the end of the game, but the exploring element and the decent story made it almost unrecognisable. The adveture element is a good one, finding new enemies, exploring new locations, searching for new items and weapons kept me excited trough the whole game. However the real selling point was the atmosphere. The excellent music and voice acting and the jawdropping graphical execution both works together to mesmerize you completely. I loved it.
The Seeds of evil DLC starts where you finished the base game. It is somewhat shorter. You won't find as many and as significant new equpiment as in the base game, i got so attached to my base game strategy, heroes and equipment that i copleted the DLC with them entirely. They won't be dissapointing though. The amazing new enemies and the great new story made it so exciting, that i craved for more. This game left a good memory in me. Definetly worth it.
Super underrated gem. It is amazing. The world and vibes are my favorite I have ever seen from a post apocalypse. And the gameplay is super fun, especially in the late game where you have an established kit and synergy. It has a few flaws, like being a bit buggy, but its strengths more than make up for it.
I would also highly recommend the dlc, it adds good post game content and the final encounter of the dlc is one of the most fun encounters in the game.
