Pretty fun & simple 2d platformer at a low cost
fuck the deathless achievements
TLDR; wouldn't be worth playing if it was free
Interesting enough of a concept but horrible execution on basically every aspect possible. The jump physics are some of the worst and most inconsistent i've ever seen in a platformer, levels are generally more annoying than fun, and the hard mode couldn't be less unoriginal and uninteresting. There are hundreds of better made and more fun platformers on steam, go play any of those instead.
A simple precision platformer with a unique gimmick.
Plug Me provides a couple hours of challenging content. There's 52 levels, each with a "normal" and a "hard" version. The levels are all single-screen and they make frequent use of cycles. If cycles are not your thing, then this game probably will not, otherwise it's a fun platformer to dive into. My only issue with this game is that the soundtrack lacks variety, everything else is good.
Most difficult achievement in the game is a no-death run of all 52 levels. For anyone that's looking for a challenge, this achievement can easily increase game's playtime to over 15 hours.
Recommended.
Disclaimer: My scores/reviews are almost always based on having bought the game at close to the "lowest historical price" on steam at time of purchase.
Quick score: 5/5
Notes: Great game, If you like this you should also check out 10 second ninja
Plug Me is a gazing steam videogame featuring received autopsy reported puzzle level kingpin design.
Nice expression details...with ripple plain backgrounds!!!
Very shrugged desperately details nudged in a slid effort.
I give this game a heaved whirled sensational treatment score a 10/10 its fun but u need to explore additionally in some areas love the burrito master!!!
The concept is new and refreshing, but the controls are poorly implemented. On every level I played I had moments where the game suddenly did not respond anymore to input from the d-pad and I had to release the button and press it again. I had this issue with 2 different controllers.
Also, when you have to wait until a stack of boxes drops down and you jump while the stack of boxes is falling, you will get caught in between the boxes and get crushed. Sloppy programming.
A Really fun platforming game with tight mechanics and precision jumping. I played it when it was a Ludum Dare Project and I love it. This is a great concept with an almost perfect execution. Expect dying a lot, but also getting fast into the action again. And again. And again.
And again.
I’ve learned through playing Plug Me and some other games that are filled with rapid fire failure that I’m not a huge fan of the concept. I have to play it in short bursts because every death lights another burner in me and eventually I’m just boiling over. That being said, for all of the games that deliver that infuriating experience for me, this one is certainly on the more appealing end of the spectrum.

Super Plug Boy
Pretty much immediately I got a sense that this game was crafted in a similar fashion to Super Meat Boy. Not just the rectangular protagonist or the fact that your character dies a lot, but because the game centers around high speed accurate jumping and platforming to get to a goal across a field of hazards. Even down to each level having a floating battery in a challenging area that you can grab which seems analogous to the bandages from Super Meat Boy. While games like Super Meat Boy aren't all that rare, the part that distingushes the two games is the fact that you have time limit to reach the goal that takes the form of a bar of electricity that moves across the screen. If it reaches the end before you do, you lose and start again. If you reach the end first, you hop in the outlet as an anthropomorphic electrical plug would and power it up, saving the day and beating the level.
Beyond just simply being a timer, it functions as a part of the level in several ways. It’s physical ground that you can stand and jump on and you can’t move through it in any way. So it’s used as a temporary platform at times as well as a tool that can block off part of the level until enough time has passed and the bar moves by. It is also used to let blocks fall doing similar things in the process. The innovative ways that is presented in each level means that it’s often difficult to get a good idea of what you need to do until you see what unfolds as the electricity starts draining. As the levels get more complex (though rarely longer than a handful of seconds to complete start to finish) you may be required to speed as fast as you can through some sections while waiting at others for just long enough for the bar to pass to quickly move forward.
Power Outage
While it’s cool to see such interesting designs come from the electricity bar as a mechanic, it can also serve to be a really frustrating design. I’ve never been a huge fan of puzzles requiring speed and precision at the same time and Plug Me basically thrives on it. It doesn’t really give you moments to think about what is going to happen, so for nearly every puzzle I had to die at least once or twice practically on purpose just to see how everything unfolded. Timing is so important that literal fractions of a seconds matter and being in the wrong place or jumping just slightly askew means you’re back to the start. This generally isn’t too bad though since, as I said, once you execute on a level properly it’s over in a matter of seconds. This really becomes an issue when the boss fights start.
Boss fights work in a slightly different way. Rather than getting to the end of the level and jumping on the socket, you jump on the top of the boss hovering over the socket and they function as the plug. The problem is that you have to do this three times in a row. It doesn’t sound too bad until you realize that if you fail in any of the three runs, you start the entire run over. So remember when I mentioned how it’s almost required to that you fail a level at least a couple of times before you get the timing? Well each time you hit the boss, it adds another obstacle to the level potentially changing how you do the entire run. So needless so say the vast majority of my deaths were on boss levels. At these points, the fun was stripped from the game and the only thing that kept me going was determination.
Closing the Circuit
Plug Me is a short and simple game that relies on difficulty to keep you playing for a respectable amount of time. That’s never been something that appealed to me personally, but I can’t fault a game for my personal grievances with certain broadly defined designs. The game itself is well crafted both visually and functionally and really seems almost too cheap for how polished it is. At a time when any indie game that doesn’t look like it was made in a dirty basement over a couple weeks is released at $20, this is more than a welcome experience. So there’s not really any reason to wait for a sale if you’re interested in a Super Meat Boy-styled puzzle platformer that has both a ‘memorable’ name and the quality to back it up.

Funny concept, polished execution. Short, well-designed, tricky levels, so that you don't mind dying 50 times in a row. Normal mode is a decent challenge, and there are many more achievements and challenges for the 100%ers out there.
Really clever platformer that builds the timer right into the dynamics of the level. The stages play off of this in some really unexpected ways so the level design is tight and well done. I tend to shy away from games like this because they can take a long time to ramp up to my skill level but Plug Me doesn't disappoint. The levels have optional batteries to collect which will test stronger players immediately. One more unique feature of this game is that the stages don't start until you begin moving. This allows opportunity for speedrunners to shine as the obstacles in the level can be in different places depending on start, giving chances to optimize times.
This game is well worth it for the price and there are plenty of butt-clenchingly tight moves you'll pull off.
A refreshing concept to the platforming Genre. This game is a straight forward time driven game that incorporates the timer in a whole different way other than making you want to scream when you dont get that gold medal. While simple in design, going for 100% will take a lot of dedication and detirmination (and controllers). If you however are not into self harming yourself with attempting the 100%, this game is still a well made and a very fun platformer. I highly reccomend it if you are looking to get into platformers!
Plug me is a great platformer game! Nice and difficult (as they should be) as you're learning the levels but they have an assist mode to help you through so you're never stuck for too long. Easy set up and easy to get started! You'll be wanting to speed run it in no time :)
A simple idea executed excellently. Delivered exactly what I came for - bouts of frustration which earn you large helpings of satisfaction once you've come out on top of a particularly tricky level. A steal at its current price!
Fun one screen platformer. I love how the timer for the level is apart of the level design, and affects gameplay. Only negative thing about the game is the lack of resolution options. Game looks kinda blurry on my large monitor, and would be nice to have a windowed mode so it doesnt use all the screen. Also lack of custom controls is a bummer because the X key is kinda awkward for 2d platformers
Finical gameplay, challenging difficulty, lovely art design, reactive movement and with an incredible replayability,
This cute little game has everything that you can hope for a 2D platformer.
If you like the genre, you can buy it without hesitation ! I loved it !
This was a great surprise!! Since i saw the trailer i knew i had to try this, the concept was so original. As you can see on the images, its a classic platformer: double jump, spikes, cannons , teleporters, etc... but here you have a time limit to complete every stage, and that time limit is represented by a large bar that also is part of the stage!! Tell me this isn't something really well thought. Aside from this, the game have collectibles on every level, time trials ( very funny due to the main concept ), and a really fun and challenging hard mode which adds tons of hazards on every stage ( plus achievements to prolong the experience and making it way harder ). Highly recommended!!!
Plug Me is a nice and cute little platform game. I played the Ludum Dare version, too, and the game improved a lot since then: many levels, hard mode, characters to unlock, time attacks, batteries to collect and the ingenious basic game mechanic of the green bar as a timed platform.
It is not so simple to find such original games on steam. And the price is very low, totally worth.
It is a challenging game and some of the levels are quite hard to master, but the controls are responsive and just in case you can get the help of Evinrude. So the game is raccomended both for hardcore platform gamers and more casual ones.
To not get into too many details, since gameplay is what matters the most: get the game if you are into platformers.Smooth controls, a platformer that isnt gonna allow you to take your time - gotta be quick.Simplistic yet brilliant level design, a unique mechanic that sets it apart from other games, A difficulty level that you can decrease if you want to. The game has the right amount of content for its price tag, even more since its a well polished game in a sea of games on steam that shouldnt even have made it in the store. Offers from ~3-6 hours of content depending on your skill level.
Beware: Plug Me is a difficult game.
And that's why I love it. Enough with those games that everyone can win, where watching an ads opens the way to success!
Plug Me is a time-attack platformer that involves manual ability and strategy to pass each level, forcing you to think fast, without being too much frustrating. Reach the charger and slam your head on it!
Said like that sounds easy but it's not.
I've grown up with games like Metal Slug, wasting lots of money on the coinops, and Plug Me makes me revive those old times again. And again, and again and again...!
Maybe now I'm too old to perfectly play this kind of games, but damn, it's hella fun!
Let the energy flows through your batteries and save the city, although it means dying a lot!
I bought this game on a whim to support a fellow indie developer and after making it to the second boss, (writing this on launch day,) I am pleasantly surprised by Plug Me. You play as Plugman who is uniquely suited to prevent the world from losing power. The story is cute but very minor. Likewise, the visuals are clean, vibrant and do a good job of communicating what is happening, although they can look a little blurry at times. The music and sound effects get the job done too.
It's the gameplay that what really sets Plug Me apart from the rest of the action/puzzle platformers out there. Each level contains a rapidly draining battery and you must reach the plug at the end of the level before it runs out. The twist here is that the part of the battery that is still charged is solid which allows you to walk on it. The levels are very well designed to take advantage of this unique mechanic. Some will you have you race to keep up with the shrinking platform while others will have you jump below the battery and back on top multiple times throughout the level. The second world adds boxes that sit on top of the battery and fall as it depletes, sometimes creating obstacles if you are in the wrong spot and sometimes clearing a path for you to the plug. I look forward to seeing what mechanics the remaining three worlds introduce.
There's a good amount of content here. I am guessing you can rush through the game in about 1.5 hrs, but each level contains a smartly placed collectible with some of them being truly hard to reach. There are also medals awarded for beating each level as quickly as possible. The menu also hints of a hard mode being unlocked after you complete the base game so there is a lot of value for your $3.
I give Plug Me an 8/10, easily worth the $3 asking price.
