I feel like I've been playing this for days on end. It's equal parts frustrating and ecstasy that only a game like this can provide for an ADHD old man. Takes me back to my childhood while making the adult me very giddy as well. Must buy.
If there is a better 'pick up and play for 30 sec to 5 mins' game out there, I haven't found it

A really simple and enjoyable time-killer that can run on pretty much any device. The lack of steam cloud isn't a deal breaker but it would have been nice if it was included.
It's relaxing. Good game to kill time. The only thing missing is a Hole in one counter.
Atari 2600 style of graphics, but control is fluid and a huge number of holes with a variety of challenges like cliffs, water, etc.
For a $2.00 game, it's a reasonable amount of content. I mean, for that price you wouldn't expect Red Dead Redemption 2 or Cyberpunk 2077, right? But what you do get is a decent little game that feels like a retro throwback, so why not?
"Desert Golfing, of course, offers nothing to farm, nothing to grind, no economy at all to define your play. There are no options. There’s not even a menu to start over. The desert swallows everything but your ball, your angle, your momentum. It waits, unperturbed, for another swing.
I suppose it’s worth noting that Destiny is a first-person, massively-multiplayer online shooter, and Desert Golfing is a 2D, two-tone single-player golfing simulator. And while Destiny cost half a billion dollars to develop, Desert Golfing appears to have cost, maybe, half a thousand. Yet the two games are both simple at heart. Both have sensational physics and feel, whether in their double-jumps and guns or golf balls and sand. And both aspire to that old Bungie gaming dictum about offering 30 seconds of fun, and then repeating it over and over. Except only Desert Golfing actually achieves this, and without 500 million dollars of fuss.
Destiny and Desert Golfing are both designed to be played daily. So the question is: how will you spend your days? Plundering the same planets in hopes of finding a better gun? Punching the intergalactic clock until DLC comes along that finally makes it all worthwhile? Or hitting a ball into a hole? The desert is at least honest. There is no distraction, no mirage on the horizon, no promise of some future satisfaction. But there is space to breathe. You enjoy golfing for itself, the game says, or you enjoy nothing at all. The desert stretches on forever either way. And one day you’ll have to put your club down."

It's a pretty chill game. I watch video's while playing it on another screen. Although, if you are the kind of person to break your clubs when you miss a shot, that will still happen here.
The only trouble I have with this game is that it always makes once core run at 100%. Why? For such a simple game...
I hope you don't mine bitcoints in the background!
A simple, relaxing game. Nice to play absentmindedly for a bit, for me it was almost meditative. 95% of the time levels will be simple and easy, and the other 5% of the time it can require a lot of planning and skill. If you're looking for a small time waster, you can't get much smaller than this.
The game technically "ends" after a huge number of holes, but it took me a lot of time and effort to reach that point. Completion is by no means necessary, and there doesn't seem to be any increase in difficulty over time.
100 holes in 50 mins review : sometimes this game is a jerk, sometimes i hit it sweet as a nut.
300 holes in 4.5 hours review : sometimes this game is a jerk, sometimes i'm Tiger Woods.
600 holes in 9 hours review : this game could make a nun blaspheme.
2500 holes in 35 hours review : i'm wasting my life
A Desert is not a single thing.
It is millions and millions of things,
Different little sandy pieces,
Strung together to create something vast.
Golfing is a game of strokes,
From the first hole to the last,
A journey to be made,
There for anyone willing to partake.
Desert Golfing is both.
The journey and trial of golfing.
The resounding vastness of a desert.
Go as far as you desire.
This is one of these "just one more level before I quit" games that make, and keep, you addicted from the first minute on. Don't turn away from buying this game because of the simple graphics and the - seemingly - easy levels. Level difficulty progresses very, very slowly. And yet, I've been playing this for three hours now and have reached hole 268, knowing that there are YT videos where one can see how levels 10,000 to 20,000 are looking like... Though this is a port of a mobile phone game, I absolutely recommend buying it considering the very low price (I paid 1,99 EUR) and the nearly immediate addiction you will have to this game.
In the endless wastes of the desert, only one thought remains. Get the ball into the hole. The sands shift color imperceptibly as you journey. Is it a trick of the light, a figment of your fevered brain? Still you must continue, club in hand. The numbered pennants march on further into the heart of the desert. Perhaps by sharing these waypoints with others you may guide future bearers of this burden. Now you must rest. You lay your weary head atop the searing sands, beneath the scorching sun, and dream feverishly of white-dimpled spheres whirling in an eternal dance.
It's golfing.
It's Desert Golfing.
It doesn't end.
It goes on forever.
It. Doesn't. End.
It's an entire desert. An ENTIRE desert, with thousands upon thousands of holes.
It's easy sometimes. It's not so easy sometimes. Sometimes, it really hurts. It hurts so, so much sometimes. Sometimes, I want to lay down, and die, because it hurts. But it, is always it. For better, or for worse.
The sand, is both a friend, and an enemy. The way it engulfs the ball, always slowing it down, allowing it to be moved up slopes, inch by inch... it.... it just...
There's nothing here, save for a cactus or two, perhaps a little pool of water, but there's nothing here. Just sand, and holes.
It doesn't end.
But the desert can't go on forever, can it?
No... No. We know it doesn't. I can't see the end, but I know it exists. I know it does, I do. I promise you, I do.
If I die, the sand will take me, and I'll be gone, like all the rest, never to be seen again. Perhaps a cactus will blossom from my heart, but I don't think it could sustain it.
Can I get through this?
Can you?
It's golfing.
It's Desert Golfing.
The game describes itself perfectly with the screenshots on the Storepage.
There isn’t more to it. You have a golf ball, a red desert and infinite randomly generates holes to play. The game is just relaxing, if you need to get your head free but still want to play something. Put on some good music and enjoy. Or the perfect game if you wait for something, like a queue in another game or similar. Desert Golfing opens up within seconds and can be closed within a second.
If you need a relaxing spare time game, I can recommend this one.
Didn't think I'd play it much...
but...
100 holes and 350 shots later I checked the time and was surprised to find 50 minutes had passed!
No loot crates, no DLC, no shop, no menu, no pause, no buttons, just desert golfing - it is what it is.
+ Sharp, accurate and effective graphics
+ Carefully crafted colours
+ Interesting, unique, and fun generated courses
+ Ranges from easy to hard courses
+ Super-satisfaction when you get a hole in one.
+ Superb sounds
+ Best desert I have ever seen (although I haven't seen any other deserts...)
Once you've bought it (which you will) keep in mind that you can press Alt+Enter to go fullscreen.
One of my favorite mobile games comes to the PC! And now I don't have to worry about my phone crashing or resetting and losing all my progress! :) This is a great time waster. I know, great and time waster doesn't usually go together. And I'm not even a fan of "click games". This is just a perfect storm of goodness for me: the theme, the physics, stop anytime, play as little or as long as I want. Procedurally generated holes is fun. At some point when you think you're reached the "end" don't be fooled, there's a way to keep going. I've reached 3000+ holes on mobile, I'm going long!!! PLEASE come out with a sequel, it could be as simple as Winter Golfing or Mars Golfing or Underwater Golfing, I don't care!
I loved this game on Android, and still love it on PC. A simple but addicting golf game that takes place on a single strand of endless desert. There's no "reset" button, your score and the hole number just continue climbing, forever. No pressure, just endless sand. It's seriously relaxing. Turn on some music and veg out to Desert Golfing.
Endless minimalistic golf game that works just as well on PC as it did on mobile. Simple but functional physics.
Great for podcasts, long queues or just to relax.
My favorite mobile game ever is finally on PC. Awesome!
I wish there was an option ingame to switch to fullscreen, but Alt-Enter works just fine.
Great relaxing golf game. Very simple, yet challenging. Don't be put-off by its minimalistic aesthetics.
Only thing missing is a fullscreen mode. You can go fullscreen by pressing Alt+Enter.
I bought it because of the trailer and was not disappointed by the trailer. The game is very relaxing and gave me time to reflect on my life and the choices I have made.
