did not work properly with my controller, after arming the drone flies up even when i am not touching the controls. the tutorial says it starts in level mode, but when i don't touch the controls it flies up.
If you want to learn FPV Manual flying then this simulator is a great introduction, ive gained so much experience and confidnece from flying in this simulator before i take my drone out to fly
its an accessible and perfectly serviceable into to the basics of flight control but doesnt account for every physics interaction that would happen in real flight like rotation continuing when flight is no longer powered. its a good game. with good controls, easily accessible, also needs a military simulation version of this.
The controller is very laggy and it seems it gets stuck before it reacts sometimes,
Enjoyable and accurate flight sim also very fun just to mess around with
Very accurate enviromental physics and graphics are better than needed. Recommend are practice for others if you are just getting in fps drones or want to practice your skills are a proffesional.
Probably still the best Drone simulator out there. If you starting to learn Manual/Acro drone flying this is a must have. The tutorials, challenges and trick display really help getting your drone under control.
While maybe not having the best graphics out of the simulators it's still fine to look at, but to me the phyics simulation comes most close to real fpv flying.
Small tip: Start with the "short circuit" and just try to follow the track. To me this was the fastest way to get a 'hang' of the controls.
Also if your RC Controller doesn't map correctly, first bind the keys and afterwards calibrate it. (throttle for me didn't work for Dji Controller 3 and Ps5 but with rebinding it worked correctly)
Went from zero drone experience to flying a real drone in acro mode in just a few months. I figured the simulator would help but didn't expect it to translate over as well as it did. (Read your local laws before flying anything for real.)
Great for learning to fly before destroying your first drone. This game combined with Jashua Bardwell's fine YouTube series will get you flying in no time.
This is a very good simulator for learning to fly with FPV drones. It translates directly to real world skills. Just one thing is different, the physics is a little bit floaty and a real drone falls significantly faster when upside down.
pretty good drone simulator, accurate to flight characteristics and tuning, wish they would update levels and races. like add more or make more community builds available to the standard racing setup
Great for getting acclimated with fpv drone fying. Its really a must unless you have a lot of cash.
This is a fun and versatile simulator. The tutorial is really short, but well put together and it teaches you the main movements of a quad. With the extra DLCs you do get some fun stuff to play with, but they are not necessary if you're just looking to get some stick time in.
this game is good in practicing fpv drones. having a lot of fun plus no expensive repairs.
very good sim. great graphics and modes!
very good simulator. wish they would develop something in 'drones in war' topic where you could pilot kamikaze fpvs and other unmanned drones, drop bombs, etc
100 percent get this sim before trying to fly real world. and be patient, you will be trash like all of us at first but stick to it.
Great practice to get ready for the real deal! Crash until you're confident and save big bucks.
Nice assortment of drones and maps. Flying feels nice but the realism features leave a lot to be desired. But first off the flying it self. The maps are beautiful and the drones feel fun to fly. You also get to assemble your own drones from different parts so you can customize one to sooth your needs and style. By playing you get XP and when you level up you get crates that gives you 3 different "painted" items to choose from. These vary from just painted props to custom chassis/frames.
The only negatives in my opinion are that the multiplayer scene isn't that active it seems. Not a lot of online lobbies whit players. And also there is the realism features. When you take of god mode you are supposed to take damage to props when you hit something but the amount of damage seems to be completely random. Some times you lose a prop for hitting the ground at slow speed but full speed straight into a wall barely does any damage. At times you also glitch out and a simple ground touch just flings you across the track destroying all your props instantly. In short I don't recommend turning of god mode. For me the risk of braking something gives more of a sense of achievement when I finish a difficult race or trick knowing I did it with out any damage protection but because the damage seems too random and glitches out at times I find myself using this feature less often because it feels way to punishing at times and might force you to restart the race for the slightest of errors.
Battery simulation is also a feature I like using to simulate battery drainage. More or less it gives you a set amount of battery life and depending on what battery the drone uses they have different discharge rates witch determines how long you can give the drone full throttle before the battery dies or burns. For me it's a way to force me to think of the battery charge and also to try to fly without constantly flying at full throttle. I think this feature works well but some races are not designed for this feature. The track might be too long and you cant make it a single lap with your full battery or you have to fly so slow that you simply finish last. I flue almost all of the races with battery simulation on but for some maps i had to turn it off just to be able to compete against the bots witch don't have battery simulation and have god mode.
In the end it's a good sim with beautiful levels and lots of customizability + the steam workshop for even more content. If you are looking for a drone sim to get started with or looking to try out a new sim I do recommend you give this a try.
It's a really good sim and has great physics
Good graphics for the price, great physics and options. Very helpful for new FPV pilots
Great gme for getting started into fpv might want to pick different one if you want to use youre fpv goggles with the sim though. 10/10
worked on this for an hour or two then went out to try my neo in full manual mode. the footage looked like my drone is drunk as a skunk but i was able to get a handle on it pretty quickly.
definitely the place to get started, also i would recommend the neo in normal/sport mode as well if you're looking for a really cheap all-around drone.
Super fun way to learn, practice or just play. The maps and drone building are great and give you tons of options to work with.
i this is i little bit more towards the game side of simulators but it defiantly taught me how to fly beter and is a lot of fun to muck around in
Highly recommend this if you are learning FPV. I prefer this over DRL, less floaty physics.
Graphics are clean and very easy on the eyes, Unity for the win, so many levels and races to keep you learning and entertained for a long time.
you essentially get every single drone combination at the tips of your fingers, a fantastic training ground, tons of fun and worth the money
The graphics and the physiks are very realistic
its a great sim to practice on before flying the real thing
I got DRL i suck!! Its unplayable for me. but Liftoff Love it i have been in free flight and i just LOVE IT! i would pay just of the free flight i have no idea what the rest of the game has! hahah BUY IT
Liftoff has a very realistic feel and is the perfect way to learn the ins and outs of FPV drone flying before trying in real life
I have now done 8 hours and can already some improvements. Hope to do 2-3 hours a day going forward. Its not easy but we keep going. Hopefully the results will come
I don't know man but the track "Armed" on this game Fing rocks. I turn the game on just to bump that track LOL. I recently switched to LiftOff. This game is a great way to get the feel of flying FPV before wrecking your shtuff. So far best physics I've played. I wish they had more levels, larger, and scenarios as does TRYP. FPV.SKyDive is great too. I like little bits of each of them but I play this the most. Most
even after a couple of hours following the tutorials and easy races, I feel like a whole new pilot. Works well on Linux Mint with my DJI FPV controller.
This is a very fun and eductanoioll ghame wtghat i lov dnso much becasuse i9 treacges the basiucs of fpv drone flying althoyugh it is quoite diffikcult
I don't understand Is this the best fpv game?
I don't agree
Bad interface and old Maps
Why is it not like liftoff micro drones?
Every maps and world is real and good in the liftoff micro drones.
You developers, is there anything new?
We are in 2025, not 2015
Make it look like liftoff micro drones Graphic
all maps and world game need update to be newer just it
i see the fpv tryp game better than all fpv sim
Helped me get my basics down so I didn't crash a ton IRL. Also it's just a lot of fun to play as a game.
runs smooth, a good sim to practice on and save money crashing real drones
This is the first time owning or using a FPV drone simulator. I like it and I am happy I purchased. Would recommend to anyone who is looking to get into FPV flying. The learning curve is much steeper otherwise. The realism also adds to the experience with many choices of quads to fly in the simulator as well as flying locations. It's a thumbs up for me.
If you are new to The FPV world and you want to learn how to fly like a pro...well this is the way to go, I have been playing for a about one week and a half now (about 21 hours) and the progress is HUGE. In my first 2 hours i wasn't able to do much, but now things changed. I love this sim! A few more hours and i will be confident enough to fly my DJI Avata 2 in manual mode !
It's wild that this is the industry standard for learning fpv drone flying. I am a beginner so let me share first impressions from that point of view. Firstly the most egregious:
- The first lesson on the tutorial has you simply fly in a straight line so you can focus on your throttle / altitude control. Makes sense. But for some reason, they have this tutorial set on a golf course and the starting area is not on level ground, so as soon as you take off, your drone immediately beings drifting to the left. Baffling why the tutorial is not in a completely flat part of the map.
- Then you get to the tutorial step that teaches you how to make banked turns. Seems like it would be easiest to do this with a big wide open area that has maybe a few big 90 degree turns with large gates that a beginner can easily see and pass through. But no, the tutorial forces you to do very tight 20' radius figure 8's. Impossible to do if you're just a beginner. Was not helpful at all to 'brute-force' my way through this tutorial level.
Here are some other issues that I came across that were more unique to me since I am using a steam link box to play on my tv in another room:
- The game can’t recognize my controller's throttle input below 50 when plugged into steam link. Very bizarre. But when I run a usb cord directly from my computer, it works fine.
- I can't use any bound buttons on my radio controller to pause the game. Normally if you are at a computer this wouldn't be a problem - you can always press the escape key on a keyboard. But my keyboard is in another room, so in order to get back to the main menu or restart the race, I have to either beat the race, or walk back to my desktop computer and click esc there. I also can't select 'retry' with the directional sticks on my controller once the race finishes. I have to go back to my computer and use the mouse.
MY ADVICE FOR BEGINNERS WHO STILL WANT TO BUY THIS GAME:
- I highly recommend you just do the "pole position" race (circuit map) for the first few hours and practice with a drone that can flip back over if it crashes (i used the racewhoop). That track has wide generous turns and large gates and is way better than doing the tutorial or other races where you'll spend most of the time on the ground. The first race in the Pit ("way down in the hole") is good too.
very good. started as a complete novice. this sim is one of the best.
Kinda difficult as a beginner, but learning feels very good
I feel like an actual radio controller is mandatory here. I use an Xbone controller, and it's playable, but it's too sensitive and drifts.
So far works really nice with Linux natively
only played 3 hours total and it seems like the real thing. at first i couldn't get the drone to hover or keep still. now i can hover, turn, and light weight go the directions i want. give me some more time and i think i'll get better.
Parfait pour s'y pratiquer. Lier la manette se fait très facilement et les menus sont simples.
Almost playing well but getting better keep low, fast and meticulous, good stuff.
excellent game, super satisfying flying, runs well and has great music
after some training in Liftoff you can really go and fly fpv drone with feeling that you know what you do, without crashing right away.
Physics feel very good, slipstream is nice and racing feels good. Has few nice maps, but could use some more.
This is a great game. IF and pretty much only IF you fly or plan to fly fpv drones. I use my controller do practice without spending a whole lot on crashing drones. It is very fun to fly in this simulator and helps a lot for practicing.
