very realxing and cosy. easy going achievment collector.
reminds me of "switchball" on xbla / "switchball hd" steam.
recommended if you're up for a chilled experience :)
Simple platformer-like with game that consists of moving a rolling ball from one end of the level to another while collecting goodies and avoiding obstacles.
The medieval inspired graphics are decent and polished enough and gameplay and music is pretty relaxing.
For a casual game it offers a decent amount of challenge, though if you expect difficulty this is not the game for you as overall it is very easy.
For the price the game is enjoyable, but rather short, and has no replayability once completed.
Does not help the full price used to be in fact lower before. I still do recommend it, but wait for a sale. 6/10
The game is fun and simple. Kinda buggy. Worth it. Will play the 2nd one too when I can.
The game doesn't save your options configuration and it crashes when quitting. Achievements are kinda bugged but, closing the game and relaunching should fix most of them (I got all 100% but the "Hey big guy!" one I had to do two times to get it, for whatever reason).
Brings back memories
I was expecting trash gameplay. Just got this for the achievements. I enjoyed this one a lot. The music is soothing and has moments that make you feel as if you are overcoming adversity which...I guess is a central theme of this game. A story of a Metal Ball reuniting with his Girlfriend(Another Metal Ball). Try to ignore the "Girlfriend" part. Just enjoy the game for the simplicity that it is...a game that has you rolling around trying not to fall off the map.,
I'm not really sure if AtmaSphere is an asset flip. Some elements of this game certainly make it seem like the developer put some effort into assembling some kind of original here. On the other hand, a lot of the game assets don't seem like they were created by the developer, but they haven't credited any asset creators for supplying assets, which might be a case of plagiarism. There's no evidence, so we need to give the benefit of the doubt... regardless, asset flip or not, the quality here is indistinguishable from many asset flip/cash grab scams, and that's a problem in itself.
It's worth noting the developer here has been caught violating copyright licenses (BY4.0 etc) by using noncommercial assets on commercial, for profit products in direct breach of the copyright license agreement. While that's not happening here as far as I can tell, I never want to buy games from unethical developers and I hope that information can help to guide purchasing decisions.
But about the game, which is what reviews are for.
This looks a lot like someone took a basic Unity template for a side scrolling/rolling ball physics game, and slapped a bunch of medieval stock assets on it. All you do is roll the ball around. Look, Marble Madness was amazing in the 1980's on the C64, it really looked 3D and everything... it's not the 1980's anymore. This is far, far, far away from the pinnacle of game design today. And seriously, who is going to have fun rolling a ball around what looks a lot like a bunch of stolen Unity assets? Yeah... this is not fun to play.
On a technical basis this gets a kind of "pass", it's simplistic but you can set your resolution and customise things a bit... but that's a minimum requirement for any game, so no applause for doing the basic things properly.
The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 6 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?
AtmaSphere has the utterly unrealistic price of around $4 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
