Really fun. Gets pretty hard towards the last 2 sections of levels though. Nothing crazy, just feels like the pace changes a lot at a certain point. Also the difficulty seems to ramp up in intensity pretty randomly. Some levels that come after others, feel easier compared to some that came earlier on. Idk maybe just me. All in all good game though
Maybe it's just me but the placement of the enemies in the platforms along with the lack of any healing is quite infuriating in the later stages, it's alright if you get it for a cheap price on a sale or using one of those discounts you get from crafting a badge, and completing it only took me around 3 hours. Soundtrack is alr but it gets pretty repetitive so it's not really that good to have around, I disabled music because of that. Worth it for me only for the achievements and a 100% completion rate
It's baffling how this game has 93% positive reviews. The asking price of $18 is absolutely insane. Do not buy this game at all, even on a deep sale.
There's zero invincibility frames if you get hit, most if not all of the weapons suck, the level design is meh, you fight the same 4 or 5 enemy types through 50 levels, and the bosses are a joke.
Then there's the music. The same track will play for it's set of 10 levels and it's some of the most irritating music I've ever heard in my life. The stage select music I swear I've heard in another game.
cuss yeah! starts slow, but when you get an upgrade the doom music kicks in. Very fun, enjoyable, submerse and challenging at times. only got it because of a steam coupon and i regret nothing.
honestly 90/100
better than the modern "AAA" titles. That's for sure.
really run time killer of a game which honestly pissed me off alot with some of the levels but hey i ended up 100% the game so it isnt too bad honestly fun but if you can manage to get it cheaper like i did then its even more of a good deal to get and play the game
I've put roughly a half-hour into this game so far, so these are only first impressions, but I still feel they could be useful.
I'd also like to add that I was able to purchase this game at a heavy discount (90% off).
Like other reviewers have mentioned, I was able to gain achievements without needing to actually earn them (for example, I died during my first encounter with Boss 1, so I replayed the prior level a handful of times to grind coins for a better weapon. I unexpected gained the "Defeat Boss 1" achievement on my first replay). Also, the strongest 'handgun' weapon seems to be a tenth of the price it should be, allowing the player to purchase it only three or four levels into the game, before any other weapon.
Speaking of levels, the first chapter of levels is far too simple, even for an introduction. The first interesting level in that chapter was the last. There's a half-dozen other little issues I have with the level design of the first chapter that are entirely solved by the second chapter-- Minimal/uninteresting enemy placement, the shortness of levels causing them to feel like a waste of time, how the level exit feels like it spawns exactly where your standing, which feels like a rug-pull when there's still coins to collect.
I haven't yet reached the dreaded 'Level 24', where the other reviewers have claimed to automatically crash, so I cannot verify that. If I pick this game up again and reach that point, I'll update this review with my results.
Did I enjoy the game? To be honest, yes. Would I recommend it? I'm not quite sure.
EDIT: Having put in another half-hour into the game, and reaching past Level 24 with no issue, I have to say I'm starting to enjoy this game more and more! While the music can get a tad irritating, the artstyle is quite enjoyable, albeit rather simple. I'm currently halfway through Chapter 3, and this is so far my favorite zone!
