A fun game that becomes a bit addicting as you try to get that three-star rating on all the courses. Kind of wish they continued making more courses to be honest.
Well it does not come close to the worst (mini) golf games on Steam.
That honor would go to either Golf Ace or that Mini Golf Arena game.
Does that mean this is good? No, no at all... When you see a hole with a par 20, you know the deal ;)
The courses in this are garbage. I shouldn't have to pussyfoot around your golf course just to make sure I can even reach the hole in the first place. No hole should ever have a PAR FUCKIN' 12. Some of the holes seem like they were just cobbled together out of random assets, as well. I've had more than one occasion where the walls being too short screwed me over, and I didn't even play to the end of the fifth course.
Horrible game mechanics. Extreme lag which is surprising for such simple - yet horrible graphics.

I don't get why this has so many negative reviews. It's decent for the price, and I've been having fun with my friend. If you're a controller user like me, it's a godsend cause the more popular mini golf games don't have controller support. My one complaint is the physics is a little wonky at time but not too bad. Tons of courses to play on.
Poorly optimized. Ball slides like its on ice when it's supposed to be stopped by friction of the grass it is actually on. Ball constantly falls through the courses when it's not supposed to. Do not buy.
the reason I suggest no one spend money on this game is that there are game breaking bugs, that haven't been fixed for months. they have terrain effects that are meant to be visual, but the effects can cause your ball to not be able to pass it. Your ball on some levels will simply bounce right back, when it should have gone straight through, there isn't even a visual mark of a pixel too high, things are seemless, but the ball refuses to pass, regardless of the power of the stroke. I had this issue maybe at least 5 months ago, and there still hasn't been a patch. on the good side, a lot of the courses are super neat, but this bug makes many courses impossible.

Ball moves as if it's on ice.
Sometimes there won't be collision and the ball will just fall through the floor.
Sometimes the hitbox is in the course and you can't get past it to finish the hole.
All the courses look similar, gets very repetitive.
Load times are very inconsistent, sometimes instant, sometimes 2-3min.
Mouse loses focus and moves to my other screen, even when if full screen mode.
Just download workshop courses on Golf It if you need more mini golf, don't waste your time with this.
Going to give it a not recommended.... but that is just for now and I am not going to get a refund because I think it will improve, keep your eyes on it.
FIRST I Love GOLF IT. This is like Golf it, except it doesnt have workshop made courses and it doesnt have working ramps yet. Any jump that requires a ramp is going to go bad for you. (this was written on 11-26-17) I am going to keep the game though and not return it because I believe they can get this fixed. I am hoping they just redo the ramp or add some sort of boost to the start of the ramp. When you hit any ramp it does basically the sand slowdown right in front of it so you dont make the jump... very frustrating.
Fix your game! I understand the game is in early access but this is just horrible, disable the broken stuff till its fixed. The hit boxes are so broken you cant complete most holes after course 5. Dont waste your money, come back later when the game has had a seriouse overhaul,
I really don't get why this game has mixed reviews, I may only have 4 hours into this game but it's been a lot of fun. The game has over 17 courses (Recently added 3 more as of this date), over 10 locations which are very unique from each other, a variety of game modes to play, multiplayer support and more. So why does this game have so many negative reviews? The developers clearly care for this game due to the fact they are actively working to make the game better by adding much needed features.
They are planning to add all this content: 150+ new holes / New locations / Course editor / Replay system / Localization / Achievements & Leaderboards. All this for only £4, there is very little argument over whether this is worth it because it 100% is worth it.
I recommend this game because it's honestly fun to play, I hope in the future it becomes an even better golf game.
Ballistic Mini Golf is a great new addition to the mini golf game genre. I am in love with this game so far. and ive only played it for an hour. The graphics are stunning, and there are some great customization options already available. There are for sure some features id love to see added, like the ability to change the player names, and maybe limit shot ammounts and or time limits. I've spent either 44 strokes or 15mins on a single hole. As well as having the game take you back to the course selection after completing a course instead of automatically proceeding to the next course. But all around this game is great especially considering its in its first week of release of early access. Loving it and Cant wait to see what the developers have in store for their game!
Ignore the people who have complaints about this game. People will find anything to complain about for everything.
This game is fun with challenging holes to play. The graphics are pretty awesome and playing the game is quite entertaining. I bought the game out of curiosity as I love mini golf games and this game is great. I will be spending many hours playing this game.
Golf with your friends is just better in every way and is about the same price. Shooting is a complete hassle in this game. You hold down the button and the meter charges up and down constantly. If there's any sort of obstacle that moves constantly you're forced to wait forever until the power you want matches with the obstacle being out of the way. Far better would be if the power was a drag.
Furthermore, you have to drop the ball into the cup absolutely perfectly. If it's anything other than the perfect weight, it will rim or bounce out, even from close range.
Get Golf with Your Friends, or even better wait until the christmas sale when Golf with Your Friends will be on sale for like 2 bucks.
Game looks very good and promising so far, except for one problem- please give us an option to turn off motion blur, i don't want a headache. Great game though guys!
Played a few levels of this just now after buying. Definately worth $5 no doubt about it. a few minor bugs to be worked out but they ar to be expected since the game has just launched. the Developer is in discussions every now and then replyuing to posts and working stuff out when he can. Definately rcommend this as a golf game. the others are just too easy and this offers a bit of a challenge.
Power shot indicator is inconsistent..
Not being able to turn off motion blur or depth of field which is extremely headache inducing.
Different game modes wasn't noticable to me as an option.
No max shot limit as even an option.
Only good thing is the game has some good textures though.
Would make it a 3/5 if I didn't have to make a new game to change any settings like which course I am playing on, I should be able to do that from lobby menu.
Hope update on at least the motion blur and depth of field comes sooner than later, that was the game breaker for me.

For the power shot indicator. I will take a shot at a certain amount of power to try and putt the ball into the goal and let's say I barely miss and go off course and I have to re-shoot. The issue I am having with the power shot indicator is when I take another shot at the same amount of power or close to it the ball trajectory is changing dramatically. The consistency of shot strength/power when trying to reshoot the ball using the red line from a previous shot as an indicator to know how much power to use is very inconsistent.
For the game modes I couldn't find it. It wasn't obvious to me where to change that at all so therefor I didn't get to experiment with it. All I did was multiplayer with some friends and the only options that were obvious to me was amount of players, what course/level to play, and server name.
For the max shot limit, I didn't find a setting that let me apply to a max shots allowed per hole. I found myself stuck on a hole with an infinite loop on how many shots I can take. I feel as if it should be allowed to adjust a time limit as well as long as a shot limit so that the game can progress faster or be progressed at all (one of my friends couldn't get around a part of a hole on course 17 and rage quitted because he couldn't just take a forfeit on the hole.)
Another aspect I would like to mention is that next to the main menu button in the ui that shows the scores after a hole has been completed should be an option to click continue so I can just go to the next hole without spending the max 10 seconds looking at the score. I really feel strongly about the return to lobby screen page primarily as an option. I also feel as if I should be able to change any game settings from the lobby menu and not the create game issue. It gets really annoying having to constantly make a new game if we want to just change courses.
