The game's environment is so much fun, the graphics quite simple yet cool and the whole experience is a big addiction!
Robbie Swifthand and the orb of mysteries is NOT an easy game, so if you are the type of guy who wants to throw the PC out of the window (like myself) every time his character dies, I'd recommend to provide yourself with patience, courage and, why not, some alcohol to withstand the torment 😛

Amazing 2D action platformer with a high skill cap, which is always welcome in this genre. Gameplay is very smooth and responsive. Couple that with excellent audio, that contributes to an engaging atmosphere at a budget price and you've got yourself a small gem. Well done!
Played it in normal mode, quite challenging. Amazing level design and filled with "motion riddles" and trial and error tasks. Love the hardcore element, superb soundtrack.
Highly reccomend to people playing hardcore games. I would play this after Dark Souls and before Cuphead, that feels a bit harder.
Difficult game with great sense of humor and short levels. This is all I need from a platform game. Really good job!
At the end of every level, Robbie and I make the Success Kid pose in unison.
I've gotten Robbie killed over 7001500 times, but I've also helped him get like 4364 dabloons, so he looks the other way.
Evil Spirit Guy taunts us every now and then, but Robbie's bloody, scarred-face smile is proof that ESG is the only spirit that's broken here.
This game is a gem. A polished and underrated gem that's been dropped on the floor a couple times and hass a couple scratches, but it still shines bright and I recommend it.
This game is essentially a "rage platformer", seemingly inspired by the "I Wanna Be the Guy"/needle platformer genre, but it's not ridiculously hard--you just can't play it the same way you would play a typical platformer. Just like the "I wanna" games, if you approach it with the mindset that every level is an intricate puzzle to be solved, then you can play in a more "scientific" manner and beat the levels quite efficiently. My approach, for example, was to locate the exit gate, lock, key, and possible secret locations before attempting to clear the level. By the time I've found these things, I've already formed a cognitive map of the level, as well as a strategy for beating it.
As someone who has beaten such games as I Wanna {Be The Guy, Be The Fangame, Be The Boshy, Kill The Guy, Kill the Kamilia, Be The Cat, Run the Marathon} and Not Another Needle Game, among others, the fact that it took me 15-ish hours to 100% the game in the default difficulty (hard mode) should give you a baseline of the game's overall difficulty. The game has three difficulty modes (not so hard, hard, insane), and I recommend playing on hard. It's the difficulty the game was meant to be played in, and it has good balance in terms of challenge, to the point were I would say it's on par with IWBTG, which despite how difficult people make it out to be, is actually one of the easiest games in the genre (try playing Kill the Kamilia 3 or Boshy if you want to tear your hair out).
If you think insane is only a slight bump up from hard, think again. Try beating the first level in insane mode and you'll see how needle-platformer this game can get. It is every bit as challenging as the games it appears to draw inspiration from.
Specifically, the difference between the difficulty modes is the number of obstacles for levels, and the number of hits a boss takes. The game mechanics and boss patterns don't compromise. This of course means that bosses scale up in difficulty much slower than the levels do. After all, whether you need to land 3, 5, or 50 hits, if you're familiar with all of the attack patterns, the only difference is time and endurance. Whereas when obstacles are added or removed, you have to re-learn the level.
Also, the achievements are sorta broken. Specifically, ZERO DEATHS and Unmasked, at the time of writing. The devs are currently working on fixing that, and if they do, this review will soon see an update praising them for being on top of things.

They did it! They didn't post a news update that I'm aware of (edit: it was part of the french update). The only reason I noticed was because I randomly checked and noticed new achievements were added.
So now I have to figure out how to die in such a spectacular fashion that I triple flip.
Even though i'm a person who doesn't really play platformer games but this one, i gotta say, it STOLE MY HEART!
First things first, the story:
So you play as a greedy thief who is summoned by a little spirit, it seems like you are a hero but Robbie doesn't seem to really care about it 'cus all he wants is the reward. For me this one is really funny, original and true (since i'm a little bit tired of always play the all justice hero.
As you continue with the game more of the story and what is actually going on is being reveled, want some spoilers? Well lets just say in the second world you come across with one more spirit.
Now lets go to the game mechanics/handling:
At first i tried to play with the keyboard why? 'Cus deep inside i enjoy getting angry! But for real, yes it is possible to play with the keyboard but it makes things difficult, well at least for me it was but i do believe it has to do with what you're most used to play with, as soon as i played with my controller everything was AWESOME.
Music/Sounds:

I suggest you play with your headphones oooonn, in order to cancel any other sounds and be able to focus to the really great sounds and music of this game.
Visualization:
The visuals are more than just pleasing, bright, decorative, love how the grass moves when you run through it, the light reflection on the walls, you know all these little details that secretly satisfies your soul. I found the level design smart 'cus of the way they cover some traps, it makes you to actually pay attention and look around for ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING (you know keep your brain awake).
Overall it is a game that you will die a lot and it will give you a heavenly satisfaction for beating the levels and be like "in your face! I'm the master of this temple!!" (yeah i yelled that).
I 100% recommend this game, even for the younger audience, why? Cus it will give you that lil extra push to actually think of what you have to do and it will challenge you and that's more than just good!

At the time of writing this, I have completed the 2 available worlds in normal mode (a total of 52 levels).
Robbie Swifthand is a highly entertaining platformer. Very tough, but never unfair.
Gameplay follows a 3-step formula:
1) get the orb, 2) throw it in the portal, 3) exit through the gate. This mechanic is expanded upon very creatively throughout the course of the game.
The level design is very entertaining and it creates a comical dialogue between the designer and the player. You might be tempted to blame the controls while raging after dying multiple times (which will happen a lot), but they are in fact very tight.
The graphics are beautiful and atmospheric and the music and sound are superb, creating a very immersive environment.
For the truly courageous, there is also a Hell mode which is exactly what its name implies...
If you enjoy hard puzzle platformers, then I can't recommend this enough!
This is my favourite game! Perfect graphics, awesome music and sounds, great level design. Makes you wanna play over and over again! I highly recommend it.
not a bad game, fun but I wish it had one of those mushroom things from Mario cuz i could play longer with less rage. It's just better that way. :)
An amazing and challenging side scroller adventure game! Great visuals, perfect music and a lot of challenging puzzles! Best value for money game! If normal won't drive you mad and crazy, hell mode certainly will!!
I have played this game since the gamejolt demo and I am SO happy to play the early access version so far I LOVE IT!! Looking forward to the next levels too (even though i am not even in the middle of the game yet hahah) and i am sure that they will do an even greater job than what they have delivered so far already! 100% would recommend, i am planning to finish the hell mode too after i finish normal mode :D
Robbie is a very well-crafted game.
You'll be torn to pieces, impaled by spikes, hit by rocks and as you feel a hint of safety and "Ohh I pulled this off", you will miserably fail. And it will be your fault, as the game does give you the heads-up you need to react (if you're good!).
Its aesthetics are also a nice blend of dark, yet smooth and easy-on-the-eyes (and ears). There's an interesting story that's gradually unfolding - but it's not the focus (nor does it have to be, in my opinion).
It deserves the price tag, and definitely recommend it either for you or as a gift to a friend that you wanna punish (and have them thank you at the same time ;) ).
Amazingly engaging platformer! The more you die, the more you want to come back and pass the level that made you feel like a little hopeless piece…
If you add the drive to find the coins as I did, you go to the next level of gollumness; My precious!!!!

If you looking for a really challenging platformer this is your game. The developers did a good job on making the levels hard.
I like that you can choose your path to the final boss which gives you the oportunity to play it more than once .

This game is a classic platformer with a twist: you can spot the countless traps with your own corpse! The look and feel of the game is really great and the graphics, music and sounds are polished. My favorite is the reaction of Robbie when he almost walks into his dea.. I mean trap. The difficulty scaling throughout the levels is nice as well. As far as the controls go, they are fully customizable in the case you 're not fond of the default ones. In my opinion, using a controller is much more convenient.
Overall, it is a well-made platformer that you should give a try and it's a definitely must for all the fans of the platformer and possibly survival(!!) genre (looking at you hell mode).
Robbie Swifthand is one of the best gaming experiences i have had the last couple of years.
It is is a game about grit and endurance. You keep trying and trying until your performance reaches perfection. Then you get your reward!
The great graphics and sounds will help you get through the pain and make you want to come back for more.
Do yourself a favor and play this game.

Robbie Swifthand is a great game. If you remember yourself playing platform games and spending many hours replaying a level in order to gather all the coins, achieve the perfect time etc, this is the game for you.
It has simple mechanincs and controlls, but the level design makes it difficult to master and very enjoyable. In some levels you'll find yourself losing over and over again, but frustration will never come, only determination to complete the f****** level.
Don't let the "Early Access" fools you, the game is extremely polished, with very good graphics and sound design.
Looking forward for future updates by the devs.

What To Expect ? / Pros -
- its one of those puzzle platformers made to make you rage hard , and yes it does its job
- For a game thats in early access and at this price . its really good , I would easily recommend it to anyone like me who loves playing new platformers .
-Levels are designed nicely , I completed around 15 levels with 90 deaths and sometimes it does fuck with your head when you die so many times in same level the screen turns blue (its an effect that shows players spirit on the places you've died throughout the level , yeah pretty fucking cool ) .
- Usually games made with unity3d engine dont really look this good , im really impressed with the basic look of this game

keep in mind that this game is still in early access while im writing this review .
- There are some minor bugs here and there . mainly with UI but i didnt see any bugs or glitches in levels yet .
- You might wanna use gamepad instead of keyboard it really makes a difference with a controller . i changed some keys on keyboard its fine for me now after some changes in controls .
Verdict : - if you love platformers just buy it , its coming at a reasonable price . Worth every penny , for a game which is in early access right now its really neat .
