whilst the game is a little confusing on what next to do and how to complete the tasks in order to progress (or I'm just being stupid), it's a very cute relaxing game! the french dialogue and music keeps me hooked, along with the adorable characters.
Meh.
在開啟遊戲後便持續卡在載入畫面,持續了30分鐘都無法開始遊戲
The screen keep loading a half hour after opening this game and never start.
This turned dark fast
The story was really good but it was a bit difficult to dictate what was ornamental and what were important items throughout the game.
Fantastic art, cute as heck
Gameplay made me want to drive a hammer through my skull.
Puzzle instructions? Unclear.
Walking speed? Glacial.
Hitbox accuracy? Worse than a blind sniper in a tornado.
I sure as hell didn't enjoy shuffling back and forth, desperately looking for the next piece of the very linear puzzle. No "come back later", no "this is important", no "let me collect all the pieces as I go", things would literally not appear until AFTER you've completed the previous step. So I ended up doing laps trying to figure out what that was. Were the puzzles hard? No, once I actually HAD THE PIECES. But before then? Time to check the bakery for the fifth time in six minutes! Maybe the lady will talk to me this time! Who knows! I sure as hell don't!
Very good design, but a little bit difficult, you need to know music and math to complete the tasks!
Still be a good game. to be patient and finish it!
This game is so boring!
I'm a big fan of puzzle game but I almost fell asleep when playing this game.
The only reason I finished it was that I needed to play something I had no interest in so that I could focus on my school assignment.
This isn't directly rated to P.R.I.C.E., but it does take place in the same universe... and if you liked that you will likely enjoy this as well. It's a nice point and click game. Cute aesthetic, and not frustrating. Though it might feel too simplistic for some people.
I love this game! It is mostly cute and funny, but also has its heart wrenching moments. Lovely visuals and soundtrack.
I like how this game has expanded from PRICE with more story and a bigger world to play in.
The part I dislike about the game is where the puzzles makes the characters and clues appear in random places which makes you search the whole area for the certain clues, then travelling through the scenes felt really slow and you have to go back and forth too many times to solve the next puzzle which made the game boring.
I will carry on playing as I am looking forward to how the story will be told.
Very beautiful game with likeable characters and great music. The puzzles are hard at times and they can get a bit frustrating, but overall a great game with a good story!
This game was absolutely stunning and beautiful, from start to the end. Artstyle is uniqe and the puzzles hard, but not unsolvable. A bit short, but still good nonetheless. Beautiful soundtrack.
Me, as the emotional stable person i am, chose the bad end firts and i haven't cried at a game before... so i guess this is my first time.
Recommended for newbies aswell as more experienced puzzlegamers that want a beautiful story aswell as well functioning lore-friendly puzzles that blend into the scenery.
Update:
Kept playing and luckily the game got a bit better as it progressed beyond half-way point. Certain parts of the story were fun to play, but as a whole it seemed to be a bit all over the place at times. I was impressed by the arkwork from start to finish, and some of the added characters later in the story were very amusing. I never had any bugs or technical issues which is always good.
The only real dissapointment was the user interface which felt polished yet lacking in many ways. The fact that there's no highlighting or cursor indication of interactable objects is so frustrating since you have to click on literally everything to find something that you can pick-up. And to make matters worse on that point, it's one of those point&clicks where you can unsuccessfully attempt to pick-up an item, but after reaching a certain point in the game then it's suddenly interactable so lots of re-clicking lots of things. In general I found the interactions to be very lacking in quality/polish compared to the rest of the game, particularly from a user feedback perspective. There were also other minor annoyances like not being able to skip dialog or thought bubbles (in particular when too many thought bubbles only say "..." or "?").
I'd try to get it on sale but it's worth giving a try so long as the above issues don't bother you.
=============
So I love point&click games, but this one feels like it's missing a lot of polish in certain areas; perhaps rather than "polish", it's closer to lacking certain depth to prevent the game from becoming dull/bothersome. It's actually an alright game so far, primarily due to the graphics design which feels very fresh (enough for brief periods where i'll forget the cons). It uses some short cutscenes spliced in here and there which have nice animation and sound. Also, I haven't noticed any bugs with the game which is always nice; it seems to work as intended without issue.
The reason that I can't enjoy this game is the interactions are severely lacking and the user interface leaves much to be desired. There's almost no visual/audible cues when interacting with the environment; for example, when picking up an item, it's usually dead silent with instantaneous moving of the item to inventory so there was a few brief times where I wasn't even sure if I picked-up something. There's no cursor changes for anything in the environment (no icon to indicate that you can talk to someone, interact with an object, etc) so you have a normal pointer cursor the entire time while clicking wildly to find items which feels like macro pixel hunting. When attempting to find a clickable/interactable object, your character walks to every item you click as if nothing is there so you're constantly forced to walk around back and forth. There's no normal point&click interactions like hovering your items to see descriptions which is a typical example of the kinds of functionality missing from this game. Another small annoying is the fact that you have to click your inventory menu to open it and it's a bit slow on the animation too.
Honestly though for $10, especially if on sale, it may be something worth picking up to you if the above cons don't bother you in these kind of games. There's definitely a lot of work that went into the game, and what features it does have are as polished as they can be for what it is.
Pros:
-Beautiful Artwork
-Interesting story
-Curious World Design
-Lovable characters
Cons:
-Puzzles are poorly explained making them hard to finish without a guide
-The jokes in it about Julian and Sanger are kind of gross(unfortunately a result of culture)
-Could use English VAs for the English Dub but not unplayable
-Boss battle too hard even on easy. It's really hard to click the butterflies.
Overall:
I love this game because I fell in love with PRICE. The world is fascinating and the story is wonderful. I do wish some things would have been addressed better(Sanger's gender change and the way characters treat it or Valjean getting shot and then magically being fine after the boss battle.) but overall I still love this. I can't wait to see more games in this storyline! I want to know more about how Valjean goes from this character to the man we see in PRICE!!!!!
Additionally there's a small visual glitch in the party in Fischerhude where in one graphic Valjean has no cloaka nd the next he does then he doesn't again.
Much love!
If you liked PRICE, you'd love this game! Same style of point-and-click gameplay, but largely improved. The game interface is far more intuitive, the puzzle are less obtuse, and you won't need a guide to understand it, Multiple endings and the item search achievements are nice additions. The storytelling method is quite unique; using pictures more than actual dialogue.
I don't know if the technical issues were related to the animated character sprites that have since been changed, but I did not encounter any issues during my playthrough.
I do agree that the game is very short for the price, but I am looking forward to additional content in the future. I don't know whether my choices in the game made any difference, and I can't say that I'm quite satisfied with the good ending, but I did thoroughly enjoy playing The Endless Journey. In fact, I liked it enough to also buy the soundtrack. If the developer ever releases an artbook, I'd most likely buy that too.
This is an incredible game, stark contrast with familiarity to its predecessor, PRICE and ECIRP. It's an amazing game, yet unplayable to many who cherish graphics and non-bugginess over gameplay. Every time a character speaks, a white rectangle appears on my screen un the upper 1/3rd of the game's window. the rest will flash white occasionally. The translations are slightly strange, as with some descriptions I've seen have "broken" english in them, and dont really feel that well translated. The translations could use a bit more work! The cutscenes have wonderful graphics, and an amazing soundtrack just like YETU games' PRICE. The graphics in these cutscenes occasionally becomes slightly laggy, which could use some ironing out and smoothhing along with some movements of the characters in the cutscenes. A specific detail i saw would be whenever the pipe was dropped in the opening cutscene, or when the fire was burning around Cosette, both were just barely lagging but still added to a small list of inconveniences towards a massive fan of art. I'd give this game a 9/10 if it weren't for all of the bugs, and I really hope they're ironed out later on through patches and updates! With full support of YETU games and this game of theirs, I wish them luck!!! Im sorry to anyone who felt as if I was carping on this product, I really do love it and YETU games, but I felt it had some slight issues. to those who did think I was carping, you may dislike this review as much as you wish!
A good little gameplay, nice graphics, and plot, great music and the puzzles are not to easy, only thing its a bit dear for a 4-5 hour game, i would recommened but score wise it has to be 7.1 because of the price
The game is alright for the most part. Nice graphics and beautiful art drawings. You look at the enviroment and see what kinds of things you get to do to progress further. I recommend you buy the manuel with this game unless your the kind of person that wants to solves puzzles by yourself with no hints. I suggest click the mouse and really take a look at the enviroment if you're like me and just wanted to buy the game. There are some bugs and a big one which is making this game unplayable at the moment. A white screen appears on characters when they are speaking in chinese (English subs) making it hard to see. It is said that this issue will be fixed in the future, but until then, I will not recommend others to buy it unless they are willing to take a chance. I hope this helps anyone who might have some of the same problems.
