Lots of unwarranted dislikes since the game doesn't work with the rift s or quest. let me make things clear that this was intended with support for the oculus cv1 only, and wasn't updated past that point, the game was extremely fun but the servers are most likely dead so I wouldn't recommend it now.
Same problem as everyone else, May 2021. Can't get past main menu. Pretty disappointing. Was looking forward to playing it. Devs clearly don't want to fix the simple issue. On Oculus Quest 2 btw.
I expected to be able to play this because it says that it supports Oculus but it does not. When I tried to select tutorial or any type of mode my hands moved corresponding to the buttons pressed but it didn't do anything at all so I read threads and reviews and realized it wasn't worth my time to even try to fix it.
Can't even go past the menu screen. I thought it was a WMR headset problem but as it seems, a lot of people with Oculus and Vive have the exact same issues for months now.
Im asking for a refund.
Its .99€... i don't care for the money, but I sure as hell won't support lazy ass devs
Its a shame, the game looked nice.
The store page erroneously claims this game is compatible with the Valve Index. It is not and can not be played with the Index (or the Vive Pro or a WMR). Do not buy unless you have an original Vive or an Oculus Rift.
With no updates since early 2018 the game seems to be abandoned in early access, and since I only have an Index I had to refund this game.
Doesn't even work, but it looks like a fun game. I just got my rift s and I saw this game in a video but I started it up and couldn't select anything in the menu when it loads. Devs need to fix this really wish I could've played it, good thing it was only about a dollar
Game will not get past the Main menu, Was really excited about this game as it looks like a ton of fun. (Oculus Rift S)
Unplayable = Cant launch game, menu buttons don't respond when clicked, hands animate but game is unplayable. Checked forum and tons of other users same issue, Vive Pro, regular Vive controllers, no reply from dev.
The game is solid and the interaction with your mortar feels good. However, the low number of players means that unless you have a friend that also has a headset you'll be stuck just playing agaisnt the AI
Quick cheap and easy multiplayer fun, great with friends. Joining up is super easy, which is appreciated and very important for VR titles in particular.
Graphic is simple bud does its job and the gameplay is very polished. For the Scorched Earth or Worms die hard fans its a must buy, for the others it is at least worth trying.
Personally I have only one issue with this game - play arenas are too small and one can get correct aim very quickly, so its more about how fast you can operate your mortar than about your aiming skill. I would like to have the arenas much bigger, so the general distance between players will be bigger and getting the correct aim will take more shots. Also the importance of using the telescopic viewfinder will be increased.
Also it would be nice of the shots will leave craters on the ground, or adding more weather effects - for example rain decreasing the power of shots, frost increasing the reload times etc.
But all those are more ideas then gripes, even in the current state it is good and well polished game that can bring you a lot of fun, especially in multiplayer with friends. And with the current price tag there is no problem to buy it for all of them :)
As a former crewmen on an Abrams tank, I found this game to be extremely entertaining. I would like longer ranges and maybe having to fire over hills and obstacles being as mortar is an indirect weapon and does not rely on line of sight but target location. More options in the game paremeters would be nice like how tall the towers starts etc.. I defintely recommend this game if your into the whole artillery game concept, Great game with no motion sickness. Fun to see the rounds incoming and out going. Fast shooters get an arm workout.
So.... Mortars VR dosent work with the mixed reality. The problem is that you cant select anything in the game. This woudnt be a problem execpt that other HTC VIve games do work with the Mixed Reality just this one dosent. Will change this review if update is released. Dont buy if you have a Mixed Reality

+ Few types of towers with different powerups
+ Very cheap - no reason to not give it a chance
+ Nice physical control of your tower (except not well responding touchpad for powerups)
- You need to organize a game with your friends if you want to play multiplayer, the lobby is empty otherwise
- Few technical issues - just minor frame drops for me, but game-breaking bugs for others
- Not very active developer - not sure if the game has been abandoned, but there are no signs of activity a few months now

Simple idea, simple constrols and simple joy! For 1eur is perfect game to play 1-2 matches with friend. I wish to see someday game Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor in VR!
I was pretty excited to play this game but I can't get passed the main menu. I am not sure if this is a glitch in the game but it won't let me select anything. I am really disappointed and I was hyped for this. Please fix this and it won't let me click anything. It doesn't work with windows mixed reality for some reason. I would be happy if they added that support.
its worth the small amout i paid and then some
bought it with a friend on VR and we played it and was way more fun then i expected
different from all the other VR games i have tried would be amazing if they added in some tower defense games with this type of gameplay in VR
Insanely fun. I only played about a hour in single player to know this game has heart and soul and reminds me of old skool Artillery games. Controls are easy enough you can watch a video and learn how to play yet learning each class and how to fire their powers is a learnnig curv. Warning Troll class is tilt worthy but awesome game! keep it up and for .99 cents this game is udner value I would play like 5 or 7 dollars for it easily (7 since it has bots too many VR games online only without bots that sucks these people know whats important)
An absolutely underpriced game. I would buy this game at 10 maybe even 20 dollars! The game is great against random players and even better with friends. Me and my friends did a team battle which was one of the most fun things to do. I definitely recommend this to anyone with a VR headset especcially at the price of $0.99.
