It's pretty good. The writing is a bit goofy but it has a nice gameplay loop.

Donut County can be describe with two simple words : cozy and simple. The gameplay is really simple but they achieved to make it interesting. I mean...the gameplay is just an hole eating objects ! The design and the songs are so good for making it cozy and eye catching. I really recommend to buy this game in a bundle or on sales. The game can be beaten in an hour and the 100 % in an hour and 50 minutes. Do the achievements ! They have fun easter eggs and they're really simple !

Very meh game. Interesting concept but unchallenging and WAY too easy. Definitely good for younger kids, but it wasn't for me.

Remember those childhood fever dreams about squares expanding so impossibly big within a limited space that it hurt your brain and gave you a feeling of anxiety? There are surely endless variations in the contents of those nightmares - from geometrical shapes to swarms of insects, illogical landscapes, scary animals, monsters and so forth.

Those ever-expanding squares I mentioned were my personal scourge, and Donut County brought it all back to me, but not in a negative way. Controlling a moving hole and devouring items, sentient beings and even buildings and large pieces of scenery made me feel giddy and curious, smile and think of the hugely unique game Katamari as well as recall my distant memories of those fever dreams that never returned after I grew up.

Although the nightmares were very uncomfortable back then, I like the way playing Donut County makes me feel some of that feverish magic of witnessing something unnatural and peculiar happen, breaking boundries of physics and logic.

The puzzles are fun (maybe a little easy), and the little easter eggs r fun to figure out. The only issue is the game is quite short, so probably more worth it to grab it on a sale.

You are a small little guy making holes absorbing the whole town and dealing with the consequences in a fun and interesting way.

The game only takes a couple of hours to finish and its fun the whole way. The gameplay encourages you to think of a couple of interesting solutions using the "donut hole" and the dialog is funny.

Fun little puzzle game with cute art style and charming humor.

Donut County is a short and sweet game of the genre where you grow your character by absorbing your surroundings (like the Katamari Damacy series). It has an accompanying story, a collection book feature and a tiny bit of secondary replay-ability through achievements. Its a fun little experience for a few hours.

Great little game, great art and polish. It's short but positive experience.

Bought the game on sale and loved it, can and will listen to Quack Anthem for hours on end.

After finishing the game on Game Pass, i decided to buy and complete it here. Yet another Ben Eposito classic.

I only really have two notes. this game is very short, i beat it in give or take an hour and a half.
this game is also very easy, at times it can feel mindless but those points are few and far between. no spoilers but this game definitely picks up in the second half.

i love this game it is a fun short calming experience for a few hours it dose what it sets out to do perfectly i highly recommend playing.

It's not bad it's just INCREDIBLY short for the price and feels a little bland in my opinion. The pulling stuff into an ever growing hole mechanic is fun and kind of cathartic, but it feels like missed potential. I suppose you could say the game revolves around puzzle solving using the hole by figuring out how to make it bigger, launching objects out of the hole into other objects, etc. but almost every puzzle was incredibly easy with many levels being over in all of 5 minutes. It's charming and atmospheric, but for something so short I would rather something more interesting in terms of gameplay. Harder puzzles or something more interesting narratively in a game where a lot of the dialogue for over half the game is exposition setting up the scenario for the next level with some jokes thrown in, would sell me a little more on Donut County. On sale fore a few bucks it's worth checking out, but I personally wouldn't want to pay full price.

Side rant! The boss at the end was very obnoxious to fight with a mouse. The whole game played fine except for the boss because of cursor delay. Moving at slow to moderate speeds it doesn't matter, but having to move the hole at high speed and with precision sucks because the hole follows the cursor on a slight delay (which is fine when you don't need to move fast, it's barely even noticeable), but flicking it around at high speeds felt like it adds a good half second of lag between how you move the onscreen cursor and how the hole tracks it. This might not sound like much, but it's enough to fail the sequence, waste 30-40 seconds in the attack phase doing nothing, and get hit just for it to happen again. Combine that with an arguably too large hitbox in conjunction to the aiming reticle you have to avoid and it feels f*cking obnoxious. I tried seeing if I could up mouse sensitivity to alleviate the issue, but that's not an option, only controller sensitivity. I ended up plugging in a controller which works much better (got it 1st try without issue) because you just control the hole itself as if it were your character instead of having to follow a mouse controlled cursor. I did the last little bit of game with a controller and it's definitely playable and not bad by any means, but it feels worse and less responsive than with mouse controls. It's like 98% of the game mouse is better and 2% it's utter dog sh*t. And if you choose to play with controller the game is overall worse, except for the lousy boss. Given how long this rant is it probably sounds like this ruins the entire game: it doesn't by any means. It just pisses me off that I had to switch to controller because of how awful mouse controls felt at the very end.

The gameplay at the end switches into something quite different from the first half of the game and it becomes very speed-focussed.

I can't overstate how much I love this game! The humour is right up my alley, the graphics are adorable, and the gameplay is innovative and fun! I wish there were more levels!

Good game. A very calm and enjoyable experience. The story in the game was just as I expected – lighthearted, fun, and not too serious. Perfect game for the Steam Deck. I can't imagine spending 2–3 hours playing it in front of a computer. On a sale this is a must buy if you want to play something and have some fun

Super cute game, the story line is adorable and pretty interesting on top of quirky.

A short and awesome game that scratches the Katamari Damacy itch you definitely have in the back of your brain. I wish the game incorporated more unique features/upgrades for the hole that you control, but overall it's a game that you can start and finish within a single sitting and leaves you with a great impression. I highly recommend it.

The story is utterly fantastic and I adore how the characters are written. The game mechanics are easy enough with a few simple puzzles here and there when new things are introduced.

It doesn't take long to 100% if that's something you look for.

A nice fun game that plays much in the similar vein as Katamari Damacy Reroll, in that you get bigger as you consume more stuff. (The controls are a lot easier to use.) It is a fun, roughly 2 hour experience, with a bit of story to keep it interesting. I have played through it twice, and while to some it may not be worth it at full price, I feel it is really worth picking up and playing when it is on sale. Good, fun game that does not overstay its welcome. 8/10

To preface, I'd highly recommend getting Donut County on sale. I got it at 75% off and I honestly think that's a reasonable price. Even at 50% it's still quite pricey for what it is.

Putting cost aside though, Donut County is a very short-lived but silly game where you can have run wrecking havoc by pulling everything and anything into an ever growing hole. It's not completely mindless destruction, as you do need to solve some puzzles here and there, although they're not particularly difficult.
The story is a bit weird and I won't say too much about it. I like the presentation and art style, but couldn't tell you anything about the soundtrack from memory.

Donut County is fine. Good for an indie game, but won't keep your attention for long. I do encourage Esposito and Annapura Interactive to make a sequel that has more meat on the bone. What IS here is fun. It's just not enough.

My kiddo enjoys the "move hole and eat things", but the gameplay is pretty shallow and the intermission dialog really overstate it's welcome.

My biggest problem with the game is there isn’t much of it. I was not expecting to beat the game in about 2 and half hours (20-30 minutes more for the rest of the achievements I missed). At first there wasn't any puzzles but later you needed to figure out the puzzle of how to make the hole bigger. I was stuck for a few minutes a few times. I wish there were more levels. A nice little game that leaves you wanting more. Some parts are a bit funny.

As good as it is short.

It took me less than 3 hours to finish. I bought it on sale for a few bucks, so I can't complain there, but if I had bought it at full price or anything less discounted, I would have felt a little ripped off.

Game itself is very good! But unless you have the resources for it, get it on sale.

This game was not for me. I found it boring and repetitive. There was no real diversity in the level design and objectives. The story was pretty sub par.

This game is amazing! I remember seeing a lot of youtubers play it, and I always wanted to get it for myself. I finally got my hands on it, only because of a sale.
The art/animation style to me, is charming, the gameplay is really fun, the story is pretty well put together.
I will say one thing. For a usually, (around) 10$ game, the game was very short. The only reason I have 3 hours of playtime is because of bathroom, and eat breaks.
The game needs some sort of level editor and comunity levels unlocked after you beat the game.
But other than that, probally best game ive played all year!

Video games are truly getting too violent these days. How am I supposed to show my kids this game? Every time a little critter fell into big hole (spoiler that happens) I cried so hard!

It is fun, but the storytelling can be frustrating. The story is too long (with no way to skip it) and you only play each chapter for a few minutes. It should include a story-free or sandbox mode.

It's short and sweet. A fun diversion for a couple of hours. It's easy, and kind of meditative. I don't usually do point and click type games, but this one is unique. Worth getting on sale.
