Nice chill simple base building game, very addictive and enjoyable.

A classic I find myself returning to again and again. There is so much fantastic music, including in the DLC, and the gameplay loop is satisfying. Completing a campaign doesn't have much fanfare, but the joy is really in the journey of completing each island and strategizing when to move between and complete each of them. Once you've mastered the game, you can play the DLC for added challenge and changes to the formula!

I will note, this is probably a game that'll have you referencing the wiki occasionally since it doesn't give you exact explanations for mounts (and rulers in Deadlands), hermits, or structures. Just be sure not to mix it up with the first Kingdom game! You'll probably also end up looking up roman numerals once you get into the hundreds of days.

One sometimes handy tip! If you can help it, avoid cutting down the last trees on either side of the vagabond camps since it will cost a small amount more to recruit them if you chop the trees. It's also just an exciting strategy, trying to get walls built past the camps in time before night comes.

This game is incredible, I had no clue it has been around for 10 + years. It was made in an era where games were games, I have been having so much. Got it on Google Play Pass and then though wow, this game is perfect for the Steam Deck, then I got on my PlayStation 5, and oh of course I play it at work on PC, Oh gosh just wow.

Awesome game have nothing else to say, more fun with a friend to play with like most games, hope the devs add a 3-4 player coop in the future though.

This game is a bit overly minimalist for my liking and it has a stupid difficulty/progression curve.

You get the very best mount on the first level. That mount has the only ability that is actually useful in combat.

The normal enemy waves are trivial and offer no challenge whatsoever. The blood moon enemy waves will wipe out your entire base if you don't correctly guess which side it will come from and you don't support your troops with your only combat ability as mentioned above.

Passionate about the game… but stuck on a startup bug

I bought the game and loved it from the very first time I managed to run it, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to open the application for about 2–3 years. All I’ve done is reinstall, clear the game’s cache, and research solutions, but nothing has made it load. Recently I decided to give it another chance, but the problem persists. I found mentions of a “public-test” beta version on Reddit, but that version doesn’t appear in my Steam library, which prevents me from testing it. I love every detail of this game — the gameplay, the setting, and the soundtrack are all amazing — and it’s extremely frustrating not to even reach the main menu.

Yes, I recommend this game. It’s incredible, beautiful, fun, and yet frustrating at the same time. But I’m going to mark it as “Not Recommended” to see if someone finally helps me fix this! I’ll mark it as “Recommended” as soon as it’s resolved.

An incredible little indie game. I did not realise just how addictive and fun this will be. Its the most simple, chill yet engaging game ever. 4 buttons is all you need. 1 hand. maybe later youll upgrade to 5. A S D W and Shift. and the whole game can be completed like this. Highly recommend it!

love this little game. Relaxing and simple. Just wish after awhile there would be bits of story or a twist because its getting repetitive and tedious to constantly run left or right.

its really fun and nice to play in peaceful if you like calm things but if you don't its pretty fun in the normal mode

FIX YO GAME

Went to island 5, died there, than the game startet me at day 1

the waves were no threat so I thought "Yeah ill just push" HOWEVER, the retaliation wave was as if I still had day 64, I was not expecting that, nor was I capable to stoppping that

it'd be dope, if the waves would carry a similar weight to the retaliation waves, I wont touch this game for a while now, being forced to visit every single island again to get the buffs is incredibly tedious

besides that, very fun game

Fun laid back game, hours of entertainment, love that it's co-op.

in the roughtl 1 hour i played the game, the npcs started running all tot he left side to attack that monster on the pier...
for wahtever reason, even the builders... walk that way, get slammed, lose their tools... great...

I don't like the pixelated look on video games. I think, usually, it's super annoying and overwhelming, but this game is the opposite of that despite its art style. I enjoy playing this game, it's super fun. Definitely recommend playing with a friend. Quite calming, I love the different maps, different mounts and abilities. It's quite exciting unlocking a new mount and abilities.

Great game. Been playing through all the different dlc's with my girlfriend and it has been super fun for both of us. Simple enough to not stress her out mechanically, but also has enough depth that it can keep us hooked for hours on end. Fantastic. Oh and Call of Olympus is a phenomenal DLC.

Discovered this game after my brother passed away two years ago. Wish I discovered it sooner when he was still alive - it would've been a great experience to share with him.

I went into this game not expecting much, and what I got was an epic journey that has me hooked. 11/10 game.

This is a great resource management and strategy game. Very simple premise - use coins to recruit peasants and equip them with tools to build and defend the kingdom, construct walls and towers, and clear land and expand while defending against nightly attacks of the Greed. Grow, upgrade, expand, and destroy the Greed and free your islands. Additionally there are a number of different game modes available, and several challenge scenarios to defeat, either solo or with a friend.

Such a beautiful game, with a terrible bug that STILL HASN'T BEEN FIXED AFTER 7 YEARS.

If you mark to cut a tree, but there is no builder available when you mark it, the tree gets ignored. This means that you can't expand your village anymore.

However, if you restart the game, the builders remember that the tree must be cut! Great, right? WRONG. After they cut the tree, the game still considers the area as uncleared. This means you have two options: Ignore the expansion on that side of the village, or destroy a portal to reset the area cleared.

This is utterly ridiculous. The devs know about the issue, a dev said that he was going to fix the issue "ASAP" in 2018, and here we are, in 2025.

You guys earned my money for the base game, but I am not buying your expansions if THIS is the level of attention you give to your customers.

I can't even imagine what the bugs everyone is complaining in the expansions are. If a team that can't fix a single bug in 8 years only care about releasing DLCs, they are not going to receive my support.

Fix your game.

Bought it specificaly as an online coop game and one of us allways gets a bug where they can't upgrade anything anymore. So basicly only single player works.

Kingdom Two Crowns is a game that really surprised me with its simplicity. The fact that the entire game can be played using just three keys is impressive in itself. Despite that, it offers a surprisingly deep and strategic experience that can easily keep you hooked for hours.

What I Liked
The minimalist design works beautifully here. The gameplay loop of expanding your kingdom, defending it, and pushing forward island by island is highly addictive.

The DLCs add a nice variety to the experience, even though they’re mostly reskins with a few extra mechanics or tweaks. Personally, I don’t mind this at all—as long as you get them on sale, they’re totally worth it. For full price though, it might be a bit underwhelming if you're expecting a whole new game.

I have to say, the Greek mythology-themed DLC is my absolute favorite. The atmosphere, visuals, and small additions are fantastic, and it might honestly be the only version I play from now on. It just fits the game's tone and pacing so well.

What I Didn't Like
While the game is generally fair and strategic, there are definitely moments that feel punishing or unfair. Sometimes the monsters (Greed) feel way too overpowered compared to your available resources or position. It’s not game-breaking, but it can be frustrating, especially during longer sessions or late-game moments when you feel like you’re making solid progress.


Kingdom Two Crowns manages to do a lot with very little. It’s a beautifully crafted, minimalist strategy game that rewards patience and planning. Even though it can sometimes feel unfair and the DLCs are more like themed expansions than true content packs, I had a great time with it—and I still do.

simply because the gems that was stolen in the last island is completely gone even after destroying the greed. Kinda sucks. All that effort but can't fully clear shit.

This game is good, yes it does get a little bit repetitive, but the atmosphere is just amazing, the graphics and overall its a very enjoyable game. I wish there was even more features and more interesting stuff in this game, more selective options such as weapons or other features, more mobs and a richer lore. I would definitely recommend this game, especially if you are gonna play with your friend.

I really enjoy this game! It's been a fun co-op game that doesn't require a lot of brain power most of the time. I'm looking forward to trying out the Olympus update eventually! The devs spent a lot of time on it and it looks amazing from the game play I've seen. I think it's just the update this game needed to add a little variety to it.

AI in this game is really smart, especially the builders and farmers <3 lovely game, spent about 920 minutes on it in one day

Great game, very entertaining to play with another person in couch co-op. My wife and I played that hundreds of times.

Loved this game for years and have played it countless times on Playstation, Switch, and Steam. Beautiful OST and visuals just add on to the extremely fun gameplay. Highly recommend.

I really enjoy playing this game but I would recommend to those who don't like farming and taking the time to put into a game, I would not play this. It is really enjoyable and has a nice soundtrack but again If you are looking for a quick and easy game this one is probably not for you. I enjoy having all the different mounts on varying islands that you can play with as well as seeing all the varying backgrounds that change from island to island.

I really have been loving this game. I just recently got it and was getting super into it. However, I seem to be having an issue as of lately where I am trying to progress past Island 2 to 3 and either my shields on my castle will not show up so then I am unable to have my troops attack the portals or I get these white coins that will fill up my coin bag and then I am unable to use that save anymore as they WILL NOT go away no matter what I have tried. I really like this game but to spend all that time on it only to have a bug that then makes it significantly more difficult to play or even at times makes it unplayable at all makes it really hard to want to keep playing the game. I really want to be able to keep playing the game but if the issue isn't fixed then I don't even see the point and getting the DLCs to play more of the content being put out currently. And I am playing this on a vanilla save with absolutely no mods.

I love this game, I find it really easy to get into and zone out. I love the design, the soundtrack, the simplicity of it. It's my favourite out of the series.

One of my favourite games, very chill but on higher difficulty also very intense in a way. Has that "one more turn" feeling from civ-like games, but here it is "just one more day/night". Can highly recommend for (local) couch coop.

simple to learn, and hard to master, the rules of the game become quickly evident, and allow players to adjust accordingly. making it a fun, and easy to get into experience.

I love this game, probably if not my favorite it's in my top 3 favorite games list. I've played this practically non-stop since I got it. It's so much fun to play! I've also played Norselands and Dead Lands, both of these DLCs are super fun to play! I did try Call of Olympics but I couldn't figure out how to leave the first island so not sure I can recommend that DLC....yet. This is a very chill game but it can get pretty hard the longer you survive. I just wish they had merch cause I'd love a t-shirt or a sticker of some sort.

They keep reusing the same idea with every new paid DLC, adding little to no innovation to the gameplay. Each DLC comes with its own set of new bugs, which often stick around until the next re-skin of the game rolls out.

Broke the game on first run, boat went away without me corrupting the save

I could very much recommend this game to others as I enjoy the gameplay as well as the overall style and atmosphere. It's quite a nice and pleasant game to play, and I support this message to no end!

My partner & I are always on the lookout for good co-op games. This one ticks all the boxes in my opinion. It's simple, which I find is rare for co-op games. But simple does not mean not challenging. I truly love this game & hope that it continues to grow.

Beautiful art style, but the lack of balance and warning for brand new enemies can ruin an otherwise perfect run, looking at you greed wolves that jump over squads, and warthogs hiding in bushes. The game needs a mechanic to allow for saving your crown instead of just watching it run away after you are instantly ambushed.

Pt 2. After googling what killed me, I tried again on cursed and completely took over the second island. Now with gems, I thought it would be intended to revisit the first island as it had 0 gems to find but many areas to use them. Well it turns out the first night I'm back, the horde is gigantic against my reset base, causing game over again. How is this game balanced?

Love the art style, the gameplay is difficult to master but once you have the strategy down its just fun to play and beat over and over!

I love this game I literally have to force myself to get off of it lol. I really like that there is a peaceful mode. The greed never attack me, just defend their portals. So I can focus on growing and upgrading everything, which is my favorite part. I couldn't care less about the greed I just want to build a booming kingdom! <3 Love the game thanks to everyone who worked to make it happen.

This game is saved by its atmosphere, which is excellent. I would say it's worth buying and playing, but maybe not worth completing. it's cozy first, resource management second.

The campaign starts off strong, and seems to have a lot of potential. Lots of interesting tools are introduced. Unfortunately, the last 75% of the campaign isn't meaningfully different from the first 25%, and by the end, feels more like a trial of patience than anything else - many of the tools I unlocked never really had their chance to shine. I played on the Hard difficulty.

Unfortunately, the difficulty is immensely front-loaded - you will find the greatest challenge on the first 10-15 nights on any island, after which the game becomes trivial if you're playing tactically.

So far the challenges have each started off interesting, but much like the campaign, become an exercise in patience if you make it to night 10. I am writing this review as I afk in my cursed island run, waiting for the 40th day to arrive.

I just wish the difficulty was a little more finely tuned...

i've never played a sidescroller (?) game before and had literally no idea what i was doing but man i haven't this much fun with a game in forever. I'm glad i went into it without looking up guides and tips because unless you have a specific goal (e.g. speedrunning) it's really not necessary, and so much more fun to trial and error your way through it. I've only played two crowns so far, but i've just bought the norselands dlc and will buy call of olympus once im done with that. All in all, beautiful visuals and music, fun and challenging gameplay, and lots of strategy involved. 10/10 recommend !!

I didn't grow up playing video games, and I found this game perfect for familiarizing myself with a controller. It's simple with some moments of urgency, perfect to play while relaxing to an audio book.
