game good
lt's a 20 year-old game but aged like wine
Good game, bad PC port.
Before I played this game I knew nothing about Tomb Raider. I tried some of this on the PS2 but never passed the first level. But on PC finishing it from start to finish, it was a good experience, and i'm glad I got it. It felt like a game I should have tried sooner. The levels, the story, and the design of the atmosphere and environment was just done right all around. Some levels I felt were a bit long, but there were only 3 out of 9 that were like that, so it wasn't an issue really. Another thing was the boss battles being really hard to finish and understand, to the point of needing a guide. But overall it was wonderful, and the completion rewards are nice to motivate you to get to go back into levels and get all the reward crests and time trials. It was just wonderful!
I loved this game as a kid, so I'm a little biased because of nostalgia, but I replay it as an adult and still love it. Lara is sexy, sassy, has zero muscle mass and 100% tiddy mass and fuckin tears through old Japanese gangsters and gigantic, pissed off ancient snakes like it's no issue, so it's a great game.
Arthurian Legend ✅ Lil puzzles ✅ Rewards like more sexy outfits and weapon upgrades ✅ Kick names, take a$$ ✅ Hopping around parkour ✅ Fun story and characters ✅ Awkward mouth animations ✅ Japanese parties ✅ Motorcycle chases ✅ Glitching, flying ponytail physics, the way God intended, adds to the 2006 charm honestly ✅
Controller support is weird. This game is best on controller but it did not port well, my guys. It's not impossible, just makes it a bit more challenging to play than when I had it on Xbox 360. However I did download reWASD along with a Tomb Raider Legend profile, and it helped a lot. A couple tiny issues, nothing I can't live with. Worth it.
Lara Croft
great game but so many bugs
dont play with next generition content
Ultrawide support (32:9) is non-existent. Controller layout is hot garbage. Mouse/Keyboard works fine. The menu system and key binding is glitchy. They put way too many "skills" in the game which require different button combinations and you use many of them so infrequently that you have to pause the game and figure out what the key binding is to them... again.
After further play there are several points in the game where the game just completely crashes. You have to turn off Next Generation Graphics just to keep the game from crashing!
Joguinho interessante, e pra mim muito nostalgico. Com algumas dificuldades pra se jogar no pc por conta da mecanica mas em geral muito bom. Me diverti muito jogando
One of the best Tomb Raider games ever made. Strong, beautiful, assertive, and sassy. That's how we like our Lara Croft.
An absolute legend of a game. Back when Crystal Dynamics actually made good Tomb Raider games.
This game is true nostalgia for 2000s kid
Casual gamer approved!
Its a good game, I play it all the time
Legendary, one might say
Just awesome to play this. Games in 2024 are so boring, but you replay gems like this and you have a total blast. The Legend trilogy is perfect.
holds up insanely well for a 2006 game and def my favourite out of the three. this is on me but i had to watch a 3 min cut scene before a level i kept dying on. and the controls are so weird wdym i have to reach over to home to get my inventory what do people with a less that 75% keyboard do and each time i play i have to hit every key so i can find the right one to do an obscure action why do i have to run up on a person to allow a slow mo bit so i can shoot them however still a must buy when its on sale for like a dollar.
One of the best platformers i ever played
The game is buggy, I encountered two major crashes. Lara's hair keep bugging and ladders don't work. Would not recommend.
still holds up
A game as good as this from 2006 makes you wonder what developers have been doing for the last 18 years.
Tomb Raider: Legend runs on the same engine as the 2006 remake of the original 1996 Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, featuring a better story overall and cooler settings, but with some significant drawbacks like worse gameplay and, in some cases, level design, that makes this game worse than Anniversary in my opinion.
Playtime: 7.1 hours
Narrative: 7/10 - Lara and her team of earpiece sidekicks hop from country to country, raiding tombs, saving people, killing people, etc. This game's story is better than Anniversary's, though it more or less follows the same format. Legend features many more cutscenes and more explanatory dialogue than Anniversary, with a cutscene between basically every puzzle room, to the benefit of the story. There were some cool settings to the story in this one. Ending was anticlimactic.
Visuals: 7.5/10 - An improvement in overall visuals from Anniversary. Legend features more detailed environments and more visual effects. Variety of settings and themes as Lara travels between countries.
Audio: 6.5/10 - This game features a full score but left something to be desired. Dialogue volume was balanced strangely at some parts.
Gameplay: 4.5/10 - Legend uses the same combat system as Anniversary but somehow it feels even more cumbersome. Perhaps it's because a lot of enemies and bosses move very quickly in this one. Same general issue of Lara not wanting to grab a ledge or rope that she can clearly grab. Especially annoying occurrence because it has me ruling out that ledge or rope as a way to progress. Same as Anniversary, the camera is very annoying to control with a controller, particularly during combat and parkour sections. Camera also doesn't allow the player to look very much up or down which makes looking around in general difficult. Some of the gameplay made me wish a cutscene was coming up soon. I much prefer the gameplay in Anniversary.
Character Design: 7/10 - More screentime for side characters in this installment, though not much background was provided on almost any of them. Why was Zip so incredibly ripped? Need explanation.
Environment and Level Design: 6/10 - There are some new mechanics introduced in this installment but they are often not clearly marked and never explained to the player. I had to look up a walkthrough several times during this game, and it was always something like I'm meant to grab something that has never been grabbable before, or a hidden ledge, etc. frustrating, small things to be stuck on. I found Legend to be significantly more difficult in terms of solving puzzle rooms than Anniversary, having to look up a walkthrough several times. I think the poor camera maneuverability factors into that. Otherwise, Legend has some really cool, expansive settings throughout, using tricks to make areas seem bigger than they are.
Overall Engagement: 5/10 - Lost my attention on some of the cutscenes, progression difficulty at parts made me less interested.
Performance: 6.5/10 - Obvious, distracting visual bugs throughout, unsure if this is an issue with Steam Deck/Linux in particular, as it didn't happen on my Windows computer. All cutscenes appeared to be stuttering. Glitched through the floor a couple times. 2k144, highest settings, no performance issues during gameplay. Also played on Steam Deck: highest settings, no performance issues. Note that this game does not support Steam Cloud saves, though I found the Steam Deck save folder (see below).
Replay value: 3/10 - Though I found Anniversary to have good replay value, the frustrations and visual bugs in this one would probably make me avoid replaying. The game is also much shorter.
Overall: 6/10
Though Tomb Raider: Legend doesn't support Steam Cloud saves, if you're like me and like to switch between PC and Steam Deck and want to move the save files, the save location on the Deck is /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/7000/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Tomb Raider - Legend/Saved Games/

The last boss is a horrible mess. This should have been patched decades ago. Do not play this game.
Probably the best TR
i think this is the best TR out there. Underworld is good too. i got into TR because i liked uncharted a lot and thought it would be like that, and really these two are like uncharted but the rest are not that much. i really enjoy the linear-ness. you're on a track like a rollercoaster and if you can keep up you get to feel like an action hero!
Some of the levels are glitchy but overall quite fun. i like the puzzles and parkour and i feel neutral about the parts where people are shooting at me because i play on easy mode so it is not hard to not die.
besides the game is from 2006, the graphics is good (judging by a 2006 game of course), the playability is really great too. APPROVED
happy nostalgia
Truly a masterclass in game design
It's much shorter than tomb raider Anniversary, and it's more story driven.
Control are better, but still a bit crappy.
Great old school 3D plat-former game. If you are a fan of prince of persia and uncharted series then you should definitely get this game. Also this is much better than any game that releases now-a-days that feature a female character. Lara looks confident strong and hot too....
the goat
This is the peak of Tomb Raider games.
All the levels have great atmosphere, supported by a outrageously fantastic soundtrack and fluid gameplay.
Overall, a quintessential Tomb Raider experience; adventurous, campy, and full of attitude. Puzzles were difficult enough to make me pay attention to my surroundings, but this is more an "action" game a lá Uncharted. It's nothing challenging. Graphics, while aged by modern standards, are stylish enough to forgive.
The biggest drawback is the jank near the end of the game -- especially the boss fight. I have no idea how it fairs on the original hardware, but playing on Deck was a nightmare. It's a miserable experience as the camera goes wild trying to track a large, fast moving creature; Lara gets stuck in every nook amd cranny; god forbid you get hit once, as you'll be launched into the air and stunlocked til your tossed over the edge; and the weapon you use is slow and sluggish in comparison to the snappy, quick gameplay you're used to up to that point.
Good game, would recommend.
Buy it on 360 or PS3 instead. It's worth the extra cost to have a stable game. In 2024, this port still isn't fixed, and it crashes and freezes a lot. Check the discussion board--it's all about crashes. Some parts are even guaranteed crashes if playing with next-gen graphics. At that point, you have to switch it to PS2 graphics.
Games made for the fourth and fifth generation consoles are just so... special. This game is easy as fuck, has cool set pieces, and some t n' a. These developers knew their market was teenage boys and made their product accordingly. And if you're drunk or high enough... it's fucking beautiful.
Swan diving does not work, and the game fails to resume if "next generation features" are enabled, but they can be enabled again after it starts playing. Love the game, hate the bullshit infrastructure that puts security and capitalist software scams ahead of an art form that can only exist in this medium while book keeping and money(paper that burns) handling only need books to keep their synthetic world alive. Lies upon lies that betray the stand alone truth of a video game. Worlds are being sacrificed for the vanity of small minded pigs that eat babies to survive.
More linear than previous games in the series, camera angles are clunky and controls not very responsive. Whoever designed motocycle sequenses deserves to eat s..it. Those are just minor complains. Go buy it, zoomers.
It would be better if the guys weren't talking non-stop.
im enjoying this game so much, first time diving in the old tomb raider games
Legend, Anniversary and Underworld all feature the same game-breaking bugs that can utterly kill your ability to progress. These games are fun but don't expect to actually be able to play them all the way through, I guess.
A nostalgia of chidhood !
Just finished a uncomplished game when i was kid
Highly recommended 8/10
Wow...what a blast from the past! This game was my introduction to the Lara Croft franchise and it delivers. They knew what they were doing when they gave this game title 'Legend'. It revitalizes the beloved franchise with a captivating adventure that blends exploration, puzzle-solving, and action. The narrative enhances Lara’s character and motivations through immersive cutscenes, a must-play for fans and newcomers alike.
Big recommendation!
Some parts are glitched or just poorly designed, which can be very frustrating.
But overall fun.
This game is the one that got me into tomb raider I loved it 10/10
goated tomb raider
Tomb Raider Legend is a fantastic reinvention of the series, and also pretty much the only Crystal Dynamics game fans can agree is good. Great gameplay and story, fun extra content and secrets to find, Keeley Hawes is a fantastic Lara, that is a great Tomb Raider game and it's often about a dollar fifty. Get it.
Don't turn on Next Gen Graphics. It breaks the game.
This is as good as it gets.
The platforming is a little off at times, but for the most part this game is really fun.
