This game is definitely the high point in the "Survivor Trilogy".
It was pretty much taking everything that was great in the Tomb Raider 2013 reboot and improved on it.
Bigger open world, smoother and more polished gameplay and a lot of improvements overall.
Visually it was also a massive step up, in many categories even better looking than quite a few contemporary AAA games.
I hope the fourth Tomb Raider after the Reboot Trilogy can follow this success especially after I was disappointed in the Shadow sequel.
nice game and better quality and fun adventure it also very similar to like a Uncharted game and call of duty nice story mode and play fun and enjoy game this game was purchase to seen in my mall because i am huge fan of tomb raider also the charater of playing like women it better than all game i was played in gta v and also you want purchase original some crack games are hacker my laptop nowdays half original sometimes our cyber crime will get to play crack games this games i was purchase only offer but in indian rupee is 2999 but it give a offer just 299 rs only if want play this game just buy or family share you friend older brother like anything.i am recommend game this i liked and fun to anything of game.i have nivida gtx game it very easy to run my pc but nowdays my pc was broke overplay games and y display you want to be rest your pc.
As someone who enjoys playing Resident Evil type games and for those of you who may not be a fan of zombies, I believe the Tomb Raider games are for you. You've got adventure, strategy, puzzles, weapons but quite specifically the bow and arrow; the predecessor (2013) is worth a shot.
Pros:
- graphics are believable
- immersive storyline and soundtrack
- reasonably sized download
- the controls are quick and adaptable
- many added side missions and challenges
- bought this game in a bundle for less than $15
Cons:
- once you start you won't be able to quit until you finish the game (took me a solid week lol)
Currently starting on Shadow of the TR 2016 ;-)
The perfect sequel to the original Tomb Raider 2013, revolutionary graphics and amazing gameplay. Lara Croft is a motivated killing machine in this game 8/10 Hot!
Better looking game than most newer games to date. Amazing graphics optimization. You don't need a beefy PC to run this. Multiple difficulties to suit the good paced combat and enemy variety. Fun story line and interesting characters compared to the other 2 newer Tomb Raiders.
I like the game, its fun, especially the puzzle and collecting items
So far so good. Compared to the first instalment of this trilogy, this part expands on the crafting and gives more reason to explore and hunt and fast travel.
From the last game to this one they have made a lot of great changes. I've been playing through this on the steamdeck, and while the lack of cloud saves between desktop and deck has been annoying it has handled very well.
Great game
Another adventure with my wife (Lara Croft) but this time in communist lands. 100% Goty of the year, would recommend it over any other similar game. Good story, gameplay, characters, environment and puzzles.
PD: The Antialiasing in this game really sucks.
The game is wonderful, with fun combat and very good exploration. The only thing that I disliked a bit was the janky controllers.
Story felt rather short, but the experience was really good.
Game feels rather buggy in terms of achievement hunting and mechanics.
TR games are usually good fun but this one is fairly bland and repetitive. If you love the franchise then certainly buy this one, on sale.
Great game - In first game I have missed more "Tomb Raider" vibes and that was resolved in this game - it is real rising of the Tomb Raider.
I can't put into words how great this game is. Just buy it. You won't regret it
Man, Rise of the Tomb Raider is really nice. It resembles a serene yet exhilarating trek through some of the most breathtaking virtual landscapes you've ever seen. You are drawn in by the snow, the historic ruins, and the wild action scenes.
The game itself? pleasant and silky. The puzzles are "just challenging enough," the fighting is a nice balance of stealth and direct action, and exploring tombs is satisfying. What about Lara? She is both human and a complete badass. It's a journey, and you can sense her hardships and victories.
Was there anything more it could have done? Perhaps. Although enjoyable, the crafting mechanism doesn't innovate, and some of the plot lines are a little cliched. But really? When everything is so well-executed and delightful, why cares?
It's worth the trek if you're searching for an exhilarating yet laid-back adventure. Allow Lara to take you on a journey while you unwind.
Fall of the tomb rider franchise, absolute failure with no story and world here is poorly made, graphics are good. 1/10 of the puzzles left from the 2013 part, which makes this part empty and voiceless to the player
By far my absolute favourite of the survivor trilogy. I don't know how they did it but Crystal really just got it just right with this game. They improved and expanded on what worked for the previous game, adding a wonderful variety of environments and locations for Lara to explore.
This is the only one of the 3 games that I have replayed the most, for no other reason than I enjoy it. The story is engaging, he characters fascinating and the combat exciting. I honestly don't know if I have anything negative to say about this game. It holds up SO so well for its time, and if you have a decent PC the graphics turned up to their max make this one of the most beautiful games I have ever had the joy to play.
Some of the more classic OG fans may not appreciate the combat sections but for me I loved them. Particularly the use of stealth and planning how you will attack whilst taking the least damage possible. The added bonus of gaining more XP for stealth/head shots was a really nice incentive for taking your time with the combat instead of going in guns blazing.
Lara is 100% pure badass in this installment too, much more so than in the previous game. Its refreshing and a lot of fun to embody here for a little while when immersed in the game. I loved her outfits and the weapons and the use of upgrades and even the little shop to buy weapons and tools.
I recomend Rise for not just people who already know Lara, but also people who don't know her that well. You won't regret aquainting yourself with her and the story she wants to tell you.
Why there isn’t any game like this anymore?
Facts :
- The game size is reasonable. Not necessarily needed too much time and bandwidth to download also space to keep on your drive.
- No launcher, no need to create unnecessary account to log in to anything, no need internet connection to play, default settings just run without any issues.
- The graphics are nice, visually believable, immersive without any cutting edge technology to render ultra photo realistic crap that makes your machine was never enough.
- The gameplay can be challenging (in extreme survivor difficulty) but fun.
- The story is good, Lara is superlikeable, the story telling is great and all of that make us tolerate the unnecessary QTEs and annoying skippable cutscenes replays.
[*]No controversy, no forced ideology agenda, the only necessary drama is just in the game story itself.
Although how might you experienced is subjectively depends on your expectations.
On sale to get 3 games in series as much as buying a nice meal is just no brainer.
Rise Of The Tomb Raider was an amazing game. The story, graphics, music, voice acting, puzzles, and more were amazing. This game has exciting gameplay, beautiful graphics, and intense combat. From the snowy mountains to ancient tombs every environment. Beautiful Siberia nature and Syria. The puzzles are easy and hard sometimes. There are many tombs, more challenges, more weapons, and more than Tomb Raider (2013). Amazing game. 10/10
A very mid game, kinda boring. Didn't hate it, didn't love it, but it's worth playing
The Blood Ties DLC is awesome btw
Played on extreme survivor difficulty and it was the most dark souls experience I've ever had i died more to platforming failed jumps and failed quick time event then any enemy the entire game i died like 7 times to enemies and more than a 100 to bad platform gameplay presented by me and had hard reset multiple times
Overall it's very easy as long as you are not as bad as me at platformers
The Rise of the Tomb Raider is a blast! Great puzzles, intense action, and those visuals are stunning
Really good game! Lots of quality of life upgrades from the previous game. The graphics are amazing even by today's standards, the game runs and feels good, and overall a good experience. I love these games they're really good.
This game is everything that the first game wanted to be, but never was.
Where the first game had a mostly uninteresting story featuring goofy/flat characters (I am looking at you, Father Matthias), the story here is incredible by comparison, but also just good on its own. Lara is a strong, yet vulnerable and empathetic protagonist, and her presence grounds this fantastical world in a way that makes it emotionally believable. Beyond Lara, Ana and Konstantin are a highlight: They make for great villains, as we are able to understand their motives, and even somewhat empathise with them, while still making it very easy to root for their downfall.
Moreover, the story does a much better job than the first game to deliver the classic Tomb-Raider-esque archeaological mysticism while still telling a deeply human story about loss, betrayal, guilt, duty and friendship.
In terms of its gameplay, this is where Rise of the Tomb Raider really shines in my opinion. Where the first game was incredibly linear despite appearing otherwise, this world, while segmented into different areas, actually deserves the title of "Open World". There are a decent amount of tombs and side activities. The open level design also now allows for the player to actually play according to his own taste, rather than being forced into linear shooting segments every few minutes. While they certainly feature here too, I was pleasantly surprised by how many times I was able to sneak my way through levels and play in my own way. This freedom of choice is complemented by a much better weapon variety and a much more fleshed out skilltree.
In general, this game is leaps and bounds above its predecessor, but more than just being a great Tomb Raider, it stands alone as a genuinely good Action Adventure that is sure to provide plentiful entertainment for 50+ hours, especially with all the DLC that give a good layer of extra content.
Final Rating: 8/10. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Laura Croft is a very likeable character, the gameplay is fun. Puzzles, shooting people, stealth.
Certainly a big upgrade over the first in the Survivor Trilogy in many ways, but a downgrade in others. The open-world is a lot more open-world in that you'll have missions, hunting, and crafting to complete (should you so choose). However, for a Tomb Raider game, 9 Tombs to raid feels a little low. They bolster it with Crypts, but those are really just burial sites that can be breezed through with no puzzle solving. There's more weapons and more upgrades that allow you to do some really fun things that weren't in the first game. I bought this game on a deep sale for like, 4$ Canadian, and it took me 15 hours to complete the campaign, and it all felt like time well spent. I'd fully recommend picking it up.
Good story, Decent graphics for its age, overall pretty fun. Bonus: wide screen support in gameplay (not cutscenes)
Rise of the Tomb Raider is the sequel to the highly acclaimed Tomb Raider (2013) reboot and expands on nearly every aspect of its predecessor. We continue Lara Croft's story as she seeks to uncover the lost city of Kitezh, only whispered in legend, which could hold the secret to achieving immortality. Lara's father had spent years looking for this place, but did not live long enough to succeed. Lara thus has an almost obsessive need to complete her father's work and prove that he was right to devote his life searching for it. However, a sinister organization known only as "Trinity" is also racing to get there first and claim the spoils. This game showcases a more experienced and confident Lara, and further develops her character as the game progresses. The secondary characters, as well as antagonists, take on more prominent roles and are likewise better developed than the previous game. The story is not terrible by any means, and I did enjoy it for the most part, but it does seem to borrow some aspects from previous adventures, and at times feels slightly recycled.
As is expected this sequel continues to blend combat, exploration, puzzles and platforming elements. And all of these have seen improvements. The combat and stealth systems have been expanded with more weapons and items to take enemies down with. Platforming is a joy and generally works well, with fluid movements and plenty of environmental objects to use. Occasionally there are some issues with the odd camera angle that cause me to die during a jump. The tombs are more intricate and a lot more is involved in solving them. Exploration plays a much larger role, with a more open world that players can spend a decent amount of time getting lost in. Of course there are still linear levels as well. The crafting system has been made more complex; we can personalize weapons and outfits and resource gathering is also more in-depth as much needs to found within the environment.
As with the former game, the visuals in Rise are outstanding. There are various different and highly detailed environments from snowy and icy mountaintops, to swamps to dense forests. The weather effects are realistic, the lighting is gorgeous and the whole package brings the world to life. Lara's character model remains as detailed and polished as any I've seen. Some of the same voice actors, including that for Lara, return with stellar performances.
Rise does away with the traditional multiplayer mode we had in the first (which wasn't all that great to begin with) and adds a co-op mode which is a lot more engaging. I had a lot of fun completing the challenges with a friend in this survival style mode. Our characters need to stay warm and fed as the game progresses which adds an interesting dynamic to the Tomb Raider experience.
Rise of the Tomb Raider improves on pretty much everything introduced previously. The combat and gameplay are fluid, puzzles are a lot more fun, the crafting system is in-depth, visuals are top-tier, and even the story does an admirable job. Lara continues to evolve into the heroine we all knew and this has become one of my favourite action adventure games out there.
Outstanding. Graphics getting pretty dated, but probably my favorite of the trilogy, minus how annoying it can be to traverse the map.
Great gameplay, great user interface, and has a great story. I love how you can easily get entertained and spend hours exploring tombs and areas, not getting bored in any way because there{s always something that changes in them. Now that I think about it, this game is kinda like BOTW haha, hope this review helps you!
Good action, great story, love to hate villain what's not to love about this fantastic game.
Love this game, was an absolute pleasure to play it. The story was interesting, game play was fun, graphics are very beautiful and pretty, the achievements were quite easy to achieve. My only problem with this game is jumping, I don't land where I want to or get launched to the other end, or don't hold onto the ledges, the amount of times I've died for those reasons cannot be counted.
For the game modes;
Score Attack, was a hassle, it's just replaying all the chapters from the base game while trying to get a high score, took a bit time to complete and get gold medals.
Endurance mode, was not as enjoyable, still don't quite get what the purpose is of that mode.
Endurance coop, disconnection happens between the players, which is a pain when you try to survive for 10 days which takes well over an hour to complete. As always there are issues with coop when it comes to the Tomb Raider franchise. Also why is mic always open? Even in Tomb Raider. Now I'm paranoid if my coop teammate could hear me say weird things.
Cold Darkness, was quite fun to do, love the challenge in the towers where you have to listen to the instructions and make sure you do the correct thing.
Lara's Nightmare, spooky!
Blood Ties, I like how we get to learn more about Lara's father and what happened to him
Overall enjoyable game to get when it's on discount
So so much better than the first game (2013 Tomb Raider). The things I criticized from the first game, they nearly solved all of them and this game is much more enjoyable on a much larger scale.
Definitely recommended.
Is the game enjoyable? Yes. Is it fun enough to give a positive review? No. Well, Rise of the Tomb Raider is a sequel to Tomb Raider (2013). A lot of things were improved, indeed. Compared to its prequel, this time is a Lara Croft with more skills, contemporary tools, and danger. The concept seems great but everything was ruined with its poor narrative.
In Tomb Raider (2013), Lara must simultaneously survive various dangers and solve the mystery to leave the island. The game offers you with such a pressure and good progression of the game. In Rise of the Tomb Raider, on the other hand, Lara has nothing to do with those inevitable challenges. Her journey was only led by her own ambition. So, it feels like she has a choice to quit at any time, making the journey so unattractive. Moreover, neither major nor minor characters are compelling; none of them have any deep backgrounds or interesting origins. The only mystery the game gives you is about an organisation named Trinity which is behind the death of Lara's father; that's all.
In Tomb Raider (2013), you will slowly discover Himiko's secrets with, of course, some plot twists. In Rise of the Tomb Raider, you simply learn from the beginning that the artefact you have been looking for is an item that grants immortality; this makes the rest of the game uninteresting as the only mission left is to find where it is. It becomes a bit interesting when they involve the secret behind the death of Lara's father in this journey, but it's still not that interesting.
The gameplay is fine; not much change from its sequel. Boss fights, both in the main game and the DLC: Baba Yaga, are terrible. In the main game, you are forced to do stealth even though I can just keep hitting him endlessly with the pickaxe (and of course, since the game forces you to do stealth, no matter how many times you hit him, he won't take any damages). For the boss fight in Baba Yaga DLC, you just need to repeat doing the same thing three times. That's all. And don't expect any conclusion or explanation from the DLC. The ending will leave you with a ton of questions, I can guarantee you that.
It's an enjoyable game, indeed, but not as good as it should be. If you are really into the series or want to be a fan of Tomb Raider, well, it does not hurt to try this but I still don't recommend buying it at full price.
Like an unfortunate majority of modern titles, the game's mechanics barely hold it up to a playable level with atrocious writing with regards to both the narrative and the dialogue. None of the characters, Lara included, are compelling or interesting, as they all lack any depth or originality in their personality or goals. The game also suffers for having a protagonist who constantly feels the need to verbalize every observation, and make conscious decisions that make horror movie protagonists seem intelligent, completely removing the player from any kind of immersion, much like games such as Outlast 2 or Metroid: Other M.
The gameplay itself is fun, but with the onslaught of fetch quests and collectibles littered through the world, a layer of polish is sorely missed, leading to a number of minor frustrations that add up to a generally unenjoyable experience.
Personally, I picked the game up and put it back down multiple times, and haven't yet been able to motivate myself to finish it. I think with better writing and a round of bug fixes and polish, it could be a great game, but as it stands, it doesn't hold a candle to the classics. Perhaps the bar is high because the original Tomb Raider titles were so great, but regardless, I can't recommend it.
A natural follow up to the previous game. I like the reboot trilogy, but I think this one is honestly the weakest of the three, despite having improvements from the first game. I still think it's worth playing though! I enjoyed it.
the 2013 tomb raider is the game that got me into the games. this one is the one that makes me so nostalgic for my early teenage years. booting it up nearly ten years later im shocked at how incredible the graphics are. like the graphics hold up better in this game than many AAA games coming out today! seriously such a fun and exciting story with excellent game play and mechanics. also who doesnt love Lara? shes awesome. this game holds a special place in my heart and every time im in the snowy mountains i feel like im Lara in Sibera. 10/10 (Only note is the native people are all white with american accents??? 2015 still hand't figured out diversity hahha)
Love the gameplay mechanics. Still in the intial stages of the game. Will update once I've progressed further.
First of all, I've already played tomb raider 2013 several times and finished that game over 5 times in difficult mode. After understanding the tomb raider franchise, rise of the tomb raider is simply the best installation in this franchise. Every penny was worth it, be the story line, graphics, animation, gameplay ,everything was top tucker. Please play these kind of games instead of sticking around modern battle royale games. You will definitely like it
New content, new details, and many thing. If you want a fun game to be played, you have to play this game (sorry for my bad english, i'm not native speaker)
I have barely started, but I'm already in love! Graphics are great, and the game is smooth.
I was in need of a single player game to fill the gap and this was a good fit. I never played through this series when the games came out but they still hold up rather well. Very entertaining. Combat could be smoother, and the parkour can feel slow at times but neither are big enough issues for me to complain about. Looking forward to finishing the trilogy.
This game surpassed all my expectations and left me utterly astonished. While I had heard high praise for it, I could not have anticipated just how extraordinary it would be. Having previously experienced the first installment, Tomb Raider, I was nonetheless unprepared for the brilliance of its sequel.
To begin with, the graphics are nothing short of breathtaking—a remarkable leap forward from the prior game. Even for a title released in 2015, the visual fidelity remains exceptionally impressive. Every moment of the game was a joy to behold, and I found myself thoroughly engrossed in its captivating narrative, so much so that it demanded my full attention, even at the expense of other obligations.
The gameplay mechanics, while largely consistent with the first installment, felt refined and polished. For those familiar with its predecessor, I recommend experiencing this sequel on a higher difficulty level, as the enemies on standard settings are rather easy to overcome.
This game is deserving of nothing less than 5/4.8 stars—a truly remarkable creation that I believe is essential for any gamer’s collection. However, I strongly encourage newcomers to begin with the original Tomb Raider to fully appreciate the story’s progression and depth.
Rise is my favorite, Lara looks very beautiful and the gameplay is very good. Good balance between exploration, action and puzzles.
Great game, I really enjoyed it. However, it wasn't as consuming as the first part for me. After finishing this game, I didn't feel the need to come back and complete all the challenges and search for all the objects.
Still had a lot of fun, and I would like to play the game again on a harder setting someday.
Great game. True to the character of Croft, The action is a satisfying. Graphics hold up well under modern counterparts. Runs smooth.
Rise of the Tomb Raider runs perfectly well on the Macbook Pro M4 Pro. Really fun game and easy to pick up the controls of the game. The story is interesting and the graphics are awesome.
GOOD: Game on its own is ok, somewhat fun, graphics are ok too.
BAD: Story is basic. Characters are not remarkable. Even the main character - no chemistry. Dialogues are as basic as the story. Music is mediocre.
My suggestion to the developer - the game costs many millions of $, spend on writers.
It's a fun game that u can enjoy the scenery and story, just buy the base game
I am not a combat girlie but am an avid Lara Croft Fan so I've been enjoying that there are different levels of combat difficulty. I'm on adventure mode and it's super fun!
