Jump back into the life of Cubert, who, after saving his girlfriend from Red, has signed up for the S.S.B. (Secret Services of Boxes). Your mission as Agent Cubert is to save Gaston's daughter.

A box platformer... not much to say about it. Other then its meh.
Not fun or challenging in any way. Controls are quite floaty as well.

bland and basic
Box Maze 2 is a construction kit copy + paste game. The "developer" and known asset flipper, SA Industry, used the craptastic GameMaker Studio video game construction kit, copying + pasting and arranging ultra minimalist assets, using premade level design tools so they could pretend they're an actual game developer. It's a copy + paste of their first asset flip in the series, Box Maze. Why scam gamers into buy construction kit asset flips once when you can do it twice or more?
A strong argument can be made that construction kits like GameMaker Studio should never be used to make games for profit, as the "developer", GamersHype Productions has done here. These construction kits are intended to teach people some of the basic principles of game development, and to make small demos to pass around with friends. They're not intended to replace to actual work of real, professional game developers. So it's inappropriate when amateurs try to use these for profit, without any actual, real game development effort taking place. This doesn't result in products that have any real meaningful value for gamers.
SA Industry have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

- "Drive For Your Life" = Zombie Drive - Full Game Template developed by Puppeteer
- "Falling Words" = 2D Typing Game developed by Steelkrill Studio

- "Face" = Red Runner developed by Bayat Games
- "Nice Way" = White Peas developed by EVGames
- "Bounce" = Bounce Mobile Game Unity Project developed by GhandiGames

Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics.
The game features extremely lazy, minimalist "art", of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing.
Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the GameMaker Studio construction kit/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset favoured by amateur developers as it's cheap and requires little in the way of development skill, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. GameMaker Studio is most commonly used to make retro pixel shovelware and cash grabs.
The very poor quality of this game puts it squarely on-par with ancient 1990's Flash/Java games, and given it's 2023 (and this was released not so far back in 2017), gamers and the industry expect and deserve better than this kind of low effort shovelware.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
Box Maze 2 is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.

This game is pretty much the same as the first one so...
Control cubert (you) across 100 different and unique levels, collect various snacks as you go on the long adventures to find and save his girlfriend!
Honestly, there is not much to say for this game as the videos shows you everything you need to know.
- Dodge or jump on enemies so that you can make your way around the maze
- Collect the snacks
- Leave through the portal
- Repeat 100x
This game will keep you occupied for a few hours, if you can make it that long. Otherwise you will probably play 2-3 levels and then never touch it again. But it does deem you with 219 achievements, so thats worth something... right?
Bombs appear out of thin air and result in cheap deaths making this game needlessly annoying. This was a major problem in the first game and the developer clearly hasn't learned from his mistakes. This game is cheap in every sense of the word, don't buy it.
very basic and bland plataformer with annoying achievements.
- Pause doesn't work as intended
- You lose items with eevry death
- some levels are so poorly designed that you need to have a lot of HP to beat them
- Unlocked levels reset when youb re-visit a level - this is very annoying bug
- level 100 is just ridiculous 0 logic to it
overall very boring game with no trace of fun or challenges: 1/10
Well i enjoyed box maze 1 allot and so i bought box maze 2.
compared to box maze 1 it improved allot in my opinion.
There is just one thing thats very annoying and that is the saving problem.
Box maze 1 had the same and i just dont understand why you would make the same save system.
at the moment when you finish a level and you quit the game you need to play the level last finished again.
With some very hard levels this is very annoying!
