Description
Fight’N Rage is a brand new old-school side-scroller beat’em up. Inspired by the classics from the “golden age”, and with an art style that mimics the aesthetic from the 90's arcade gems, this game pays homage to all classic gameplay features that makes this genre one of the best from its time!
Details
Genre: Classic 2D side-scroller beat’em up / brawler.
Number of players: From one up to three players local co-op.
Available languages: English and Spanish.
Features
- A lot of Combinations: Alternative paths, cutscenes and endings that can change based on the selected characters and your own decisions!
- Fast and intense single-session gameplay: Each possible route in the arcade mode can be finished in less than one hour! (at least if you have mastered it.)
- Explosive Combo System: Characters are capable of performing several skillful juggle-based combos that can make your enemies blow up into pieces!
- Simplified Controls: Using only three buttons (attack, jump and special attack), you will be able to combine lots of movements in order to perform amazing combos!
- Easy to Play, Hard to Master: Difficulty is not about bad controls or unfair rules… it is about mastering your character’s moves and dealing with tough enemies!
- Local co-op mode: Up to 3 players with optional friendly fire (which is even more challenging!).
- Custom Display Modes: Display settings includes optional CRT feels, scanlines and various color styles and more!
- Limitless FPS: Full support for High Frequency Rates Gaming Monitors! Get ready for the smoothest gaming experience!
- Lots of Unlockables: Earn in-game coins with your scores and get extra content like character’s costumes, extra difficulty settings, more gameplay speeds, new game modes, new characters to use on these modes and much more!
- Play as Enemies: More than 20 unlockable characters to play in the extra modes!
- Training Mode: You can practice a lot of techniques and combos while earning new belts! Are you good enough to get the Black Belt?
- Different Weapons: Each protagonist handles them in their own way.
- Speedrun Timer: An exclusive in-game gadget compares current stage times against your best ones! (Of course, the cutscene time does not count, in order to let your fingers take a break… believe me, you will need that.)
- Fully Skippable Cutscenes: All cutscenes can be skipped or fast-forwarded in order to provide an (even more) intense gameplay.
- Fair Score Rules: There’s no easy way to increment your score while playing… the score is directly related to your skills.
- VS Mode: Perfect to play one vs one battles against another player or the CPU, or simply watch CPU vs CPU battles.
- Parry System: A parry system lets you take the advantage even in the most dangerous situations!
- Real challenges: It is all about how good you are at the game, not about an “exp” system or other RPG elements that reward your patience. The full moveset of every character is available from the start, so, you do not have to worry about leveling-up anything except your own skills as player!
- Additional Insane Difficulties: Near impossible extra challenges for pro-gamers (which are not mandatory to unlock all game content).
- Extremely Polished Gameplay: The playability is focused on fully responsive controls and intuitive commands. The characters can cancel normal attacks into special attacks, release themselves from enemy grabs and perform several chain movements. You will feel the power of controlling a character that perfectly responds to your actions!
Story
In a far future, Earth was devastated by mutants who took control after a worldwide catastrophic event known as “the big pulse”, a global scale electromagnetic pulse that put an end to all electronic technology on the planet. Humans are now enslaved by mutants led by “The Boss” in a world ruled by “the law of the jungle”.
However, not everything is lost… two humans and a mutant rebel are willing to fight in order to stop this madness. Will they be strong enough? Well... that's up to you!
Main Characters
Gal: A girl who escaped from traders of humans. She’s an expert in her own kick-boxing-derived martial art. While her attacks don’t have a long reach, her speed and agility have no equal and her technique and endurance are pretty good too. She is capable of avoiding almost every attack, an ability that comes in handy when facing multiple foes.
Ricardo: A minotaur human-rights activist and a powerful wrestler. He’s not very fast and his technique isn’t as good as his comrades’, but he has a pretty long reach, and his power and endurance are amazing. He’s capable of destroying any enemy in record time!
F. Norris: A runaway ninja whose past is a mystery. He’s the one who mastered the ninjutsu style known as “the forbidden technique”. While he might be pretty fragile compared to Gal or Ricardo, he has a great combination of reach, power and speed, plus an amazing technique that (when mastered) can take control of any situation.

Very pleasant game, remind me of the golden age of the neo geo game console. A good beat them all.
Vintage graphics and perfect joypad respond. what else!
A great deep brawler.
good beat em up
I've played tons of beatemups, all the classics, 16bit, MAME, stuff like Castle Crashers, Dragons Crown, you name it. I didn't try this game for the longest time because honestly the name Fighter N Rage and few screenshot I saw didn't inspire me. But what lies inside is a meticulously crafted experience which builds upon the titans of the genre without copying them. There's combos and interrupts and parrys, it's basically fighting game mechanics in a beatemup which alone makes S-tier. The metal soundtrack rips, the scan lines look great, the sprites are made with care, and the game has tons of unlockabkes. The stage designs and background art are just "okay" and while that keeps it from being a perfect 10, it's really not a big deal. Don't hesitate to buy - this is definitely an all time great beatemup.
BEST and i mean it with my whole gamer heart the BEST beat em up in history
nice game feels smooth, combat is nice
Ye,this a nice game
Greatest beat 'em up game I ever played. I just hated playing Ricardo.
ta bueno el jogo, más cuando lo juegas con amiguis
Fight'N Rage
Has a total of 5 trading cards.
shawty on the front cover reminds me of my friend lilith
TL;DR
Good music, great visuals, top-shelf gameplay. For hardcore beat-em-up fans this one is worth it at $20, for medium fans or dabblers i'd still say easily worth it on a good sale. The visuals are clear from the trailer, but the gameplay is surprisingly good which is not obvious.
MORE DETAILS:
It's probably the best "newish" (last 5-10 years) "polished" beat-em-up I've played that still has a mostly classic vibe, up there in the same tier with Streets of Rage 4 and TMNT: Shredder's Revenge IMO (both of which I think are arguable candidates for best in show). I bought it at 95% off ($1) and it has to be the best dollar I've ever spent on steam by a mile.
I might argue the combat and gameplay here is the best I've ever played in a beat-em-up EVER, for capturing simple, classic gameplay but that has a surprising amount of optionally accessible depth to it.
In addition to standard tropes (like walking into enemies to grab them being a way to subvert enemies that block/throw enemies into other enemies for some creative attacking), there are some very cool new twists and new emphasis on things that aren't commonly emphasized in brawlers. Your "special move" is powerful and on a medium-quick cooldown, but then you can also spam it on cooldown at the cost of health. What a cool way to capture the old-school "pay health for supers" mechanic while letting that be a tactical choice as necessary instead of the only way to do your super move. Juggling enemies is fun and has some play to it, especially combo juggling in co-op is fun. Enemy attacks are satisfyingly dodagble (haven't mastered the parry yet ;p), enemy attack range and spacing matter some, and while the combat might be a LITTLE repetitive for some it's actually really good combat and I never got bored of it. Some of the people talking about repetitive combat, I'm like, maybe? it's a beat-em-up lolz God forbid someone ever make you play Final Fight 2 or whatever.
Anyways the "boobage" is a bit much. No nudity but lots of cleavage and they pushed the sexualization of women a little too far IMO. I'm trying to play this with my girlfriend bro lol, no chance I can play it with my nephew. Wish there was an option to tone this down but hopefully for most people it's not more than an eyeroll (or a giggity).
All time favorite beat em up. Looks simple on the surface, but has a wildly deep combat system under the hood. Solo is fun, but it’s one of the best couch (or Remote Play) co-op games out there. Highly recommend.
GAME UTTERLY DISRESPECTS YOUR TIME. So here is one for the road :)
Yes, between games, when you come back to it you WILL start from scratch. Any game that has been out this long with the amount of patches it has had in the past YET MISSES QOL basics like this deserves a negative review. THE ONLY way around this TO SOME EXTENT I can figure is if you have 2 other friends to play couch co-op. I am 99% sure that the AMOUNT of enemies for the extra players is going to be EXACTLY the same as it is in the single player version, thus actually making this Do-Able for proper difficulty because of that fact. Another hardcore SUPERBAD game design choice IS they make you unlock EASY level by playing the game. What kind of asinine choice of design is this when MOST DEVS realise that such should be available from the start, and instead ALLOW YOU to unlock HARDER difficulties. So they got LOADS of stuff backwards, and because it has been years since the last patch, the game will most likely stay in this unplayable state for MOST solo runs. I was wondering why some of the other peeps in the forums were so furious about it erasing progress between loads (steam cloud does zero to mitigate this as it is by design choice of the devs). So even at 95% off which is what I paid for it, I still have to avoid recommending it. Again UNLESS you have two others to play couch and beat it's asz!
This game is fantastic, and I feel compelled to write a positive review to try and counter the recent negative reviews it's getting from Souls/Modern-Action-Games brain-rotted folks.
One reviewer said, "You have infinite continues, so what's the point?" The point is that even beginners, and someone as bad at the game as you (and me), can practice and enjoy the game without having to restart from the beginning every single time. It's not like you have to continue anyways—you literally have the option to let the countdown reach zero, and it's game over.
Another one talked about how "repetitive" the enemies are. Mind you, the game has like 20 different enemy types, and that's plenty for a short arcade game. This critique doesn't take into account that these enemies aren't just thrown at you randomly in random stages. In every encounter, you're facing different combinations of these enemies, mostly in different environmental conditions. I get the feeling that if the developer copied and pasted the same enemy 20 times with different skins, the same guy wouldn't have this critique because, unfortunately, "more is better" these days.
What's more mind-boggling, and ties into my previous point, is the "critique" of the game's length. Does everything need to be a bloated, open-world, collectibles-ridden mess? You're supposed to be able to finish it in one session if you're good enough (two hours max, which is longer than average for this type of game). Also, this game is only "short" by the narrow-minded definition of the word. With the multiple characters, modes, routes, and the fact that you're supposed to at least CC it once, this game has incredible replay value, especially for that price tag.
But hold on, this last one is great. One guy is critiquing how the attacks have very short range and there's not enough i-frames for the parry. What's the matter? Afraid you're gonna have to actually think carefully about your positioning and practice your parries instead of immediately getting the timing right and trivializing most powerful enemies?
And I'm not even gonna talk about the Chinese dude who, instead of supporting the game made by two passionate guys and asking nicely for a localization, went ahead and gave it a negative review. That'll convince them.
I'm not saying the game is perfect (it's pretty damn close, though), but these critiques seem to stem from weird expectations some people have of a beat 'em up. So, you can safely ignore them if you're looking for a great arcade beat 'em up.
Great Beat 'em up I've played so far, especially with it's combat
gud geam
one of the best beat'em ups ever
dont grab unless on sale or completely nuts about the genre its got solid mechanics but the game is soooo short and easy you have infinite continue`s so i don't know why you even have continues ! worth about 10 bucks!
Can't put parry to a button, move too slowly, combat too stiff, attack range is way too short, parry doesn't have enough frames, extremely sluggish game play outside of attack speed, movement in all 8 directions feels like you're crawling through mud at all times even with gal
Sad when Aliens Vs. Predator Arcade/Knights of the Round perfected this game play decades ago but developers still struggling with good combat/parry mechanics now
This game programmed by monkeys.
dificil adictivo y HERMOSO
Fun short beat 'em up. Best is to play with a friend.
good game with great soundtrack and huge unlockbles
It's... Fine.
Its a decent game, 6/10
Can we please get a online mode so we can play with friends without having to suffer through remote play :(
In short:
- Masterpiece made by one developer. Music composed by a single maestro.
- One of the greatest throwbacks fighting games of 80's and 90's. - Streets of Rage, Double Dragon, TMNT, Battletoads, etc.
- The game fighting mechanics work like magic. Pick a friend or two, and enjoy the living hell of out of it.
- Lots of different paths, lots of re-playability.
- Music some of the most amazing from a very varied scale, adds to the "feel of the game".

Longer review:
Knowing Seba's struggles with this game, working from the slums with a leaking room, and ramping something as magical as this is amazing. From zero to hero, literally.
- The sheer quality of the game every time just blows me away (and anyone who has played this game).
Strengths:
- Gameplay is easy on the surface, with surprising depth, complex combos, and much more demanding if you will learn all the secret moves.
- Juggling has never been easier with friends.
- Simple enough story, while still being very engaging. - Leaves you wanting more as you uncover more of it per each path.
- Animation is GODLIKE on every model. - Use your environment to your advantage.
- Just enough of "challenging" for also beginners
- Lots of unlocks in the game. - Difficulty can be ramped-up for further unlocks.
- Doesn't overstay its welcome.
Weakness:
- 4th character, we need it! (4 player co-op missing)
- Could be longer, but you'll still be playing it for a long time.
- It's a masterpiece, here ends my nitpicking; there's seriously nothing to complain on this, in this genre.
***
We must have a sequel, Seba! Make a new game and we can pay you more!
- In its genre a 10/10 game, hands-down.
this game is good
Whether you're a bit nostalgic or just curious about the beat'em up genre, get this one. To keep it short, you'll find a lot of fun (unwind with easy combos or show off your black belt), replayability (choices, endings, unlocks, game modes), and ooh, great music!
top tier beat em up
also big tiddy ladies
I bought this game for under 5 dollars and this review is also taking that into account.
This is a solid beat-em-up kinda like streets of rage.
I only played it for 5 hours, but that's kind of the point. You pick it up and you start punching enemies. If that sounds fun, this game will be fun.
IDK if you will be playing this for hundreds of hours, but not every game has to be that way. It's fun for a while and that's fine.
This game has 3 playable characters and they all seem fairly different. Two of them are rather fast and one is a big guy who is slow and powerful.
WARNING: This game has a lot of postFX and you should watch gameplay videos to see if you can handle the amount of visual noise. It's very flashy and rainbow-y and some people can't play games like that. I'm fine with it though.
Overall, if you just want some basic fun of punching and kicking, this game is totally fine and I'm giving it a thumbs up.
nice game but i hope the dev will play the float boat section in hell for all eternity
One of the best beat em ups I've ever played
Amazing
one of the beast beat em up around.
Awesome. Be the girl first.
Seriously - How the fuck did this game went under my radar?!
What a fantastic beat 'em up game this is! One of the best in recent years and definitely worth a look, especially if you're after great combat and replayability.
the game is around 200mb of which 100 is dedicated to jiggle physics
Incredible beat em up!
Big recommend, you can tell whoever made this really knows their stuff with beat em ups, and also is into fighting games. System is so open and fun to play in. I like this game better than streets of rage 4.
Лютая годнота за копейки,да ещё и с офигенным остом,нелинейным прохождением и кучей всего ещё)Крайне-рекомендую
This one is easily one of the best Beat 'Em Ups of the entire genre!
My favorite beat 'em up. Streets of rage 4 is about positioning and this one is about seeing how many hits you can land on their face until they literally explode. It doesn't limit you in terms of movements and how you can combine them. It also comes from Latin America and if you know anything, its diet consists of 50 percent food and 50 SNKs, which you can see on the fake boot screen.
The best Beat Em' Up I have played in YEARS. Great game to fuck around and couch co-op with friends.
peak, peak, PEAK!
Incredibly fun. A fun combo system, good variety of enemies and branching paths make it highly replayable.
Amazing
One of my favorite games I suck at.
the pixel art its really good, the character design its good too, gal its top notch waifu material, the others... ehmm well, are not bad. the controls are very good, responsive as it should be, the animations are really good, as a good beat em up should be, the music is good, the post processing fx are a bit exagerated, had to change the default crt-tv to crt monitor, still have too much curve but i didnt like it flat, so... the game its a solid beat em up you can play with friends, oh and the game is cheap as f and got achievements, totally recommended.
