About the Game
An unprovoked attack on a minor noble house sparks a fire that will engulf kingdoms. Aya, the youngest daughter of House Furukawa, must find her way amid crumbling alliances and her family's questionable decisions. The war rages on after its original aim becomes impossible and the innocent begin to lose their way. If there is still a victory to be achieved, you the player must fight for it.
Lead House Furukawa's few remaining loyal soldiers into battle. Forge new alliances and rally new troops. Train your human troops in 20 unique character classes and fill your ranks with wolves, fairies, the undead, and your own mechanical creations, each with their own character classes. Equip them all with hundreds of different items in limitless combinations. Craft powerful new weapons to give them an edge in battle. Really enjoyed the combat and system in general. Can't say much about the story cause I refunded after an hour when I realized the horrible leveling system. As a CONCEPT, being able to choose every single upgrade from a deck of cards, is GREAT, but having to do it for 10...20...30...40...or more characters, EVERY SINGLE BATTLE, is exhausting. If a character MATTERS, like my leaders, yes, let me. They have an AUTO LEVEL per character but it's "click NEXT, click level, click autolevel" PER character...and the buttons are no where near each other and only 1 has a keybind. The leveling is taking longer than the battles!
It's trash, totaly unplayable.
Never saw worse controls. Mouse is working differently. At battle stage it can be barely visible as it slides like on ice while making screen on earthquake. Few seconds to get a headache.
You can't move screen away at world map so it's hard to navigate where the hell are you.
You can't start conversation with mouse.
You need to rotate map all the time to see anything...but you can't do that everywhere for example first town after main base.
At world map your unit will stop at every time change so you need to click A LOT until you get to where you want.
First quest outside main base is defeat bandits and optional slimes. There are no slimes on the map.
As there are no slimes, you can't train your units. As unprepard units and enemies with at least 80% dodge...you will just lose some of them in the first fights and you can't do nothing against it.
I just skyrocketed and stuck in the air in the first town and as you can see i didn't play long.
I like what this game is trying to do with the large-army combat and I can deal with some rough edges and lack of polish as the game didn't cost much and it doesn't have the budget and development staff of a AAA studio. however I am not recommending this game because it crashes too much. It crashed at least ten times on me while I was playing in the last day. It does have auto-save thankfully, but this is not how a game that's already been out for three years should run. It'd be one thing if it seemed like a single crash that could reproduced, tracked down and bug fixed but it crashed in a whole bunch of different ways and I couldn't identify the root cause of any of them.
Less of an adventure than a long nag.
I love the concept of controlling customized squads rather than one character at a time, but...
It plays like an unfinished or early access game. Sadly, it's been out for years and still lacks polish. The modders have helped a little (more class types, etc), but there's still too many bugs, places to get stuck, trouble navigating around (which seems increasingly unnecessary!) and the card system for leveling up is either grind-bait, or an invitation to pointless frustration. Randomization for quest objectives are another cause for frustration.
I have personal gripes about the storyline and poor writing, especially how the script seeks to force you into making decisions that they impose as 'moral', or lose your earliest companion, etc. Plus most of the characters are either completely shallow or outright annoying. It doesn't help that everybody (including each main character) has the same face.
All told, the whole thing feels incredibly soulless.
This is along the lines of Symphony of War and the Original Ogre Battle.
For all players who love customization on a granular level with armies that exceed 30, 40, and even 100 units. This is for you!
Poor implementation, never updated with anything worthwhile, and left in a broken state. Do not Buy. It'
s like purchasing a single developer's dream demo that never made it further.
