Radical Spectrum Volume 2 is an arcade-style platformer, featuring constant, endless action.
With over 10,000 unique levels and 4 bosses governing each one with their own set of weapons, every new attempt will be a new experience.RSV2 was made for instant drop-in-and-play action; there's nothing between you and the core experience. It's a distilled and efficient platforming playground with infinitely increasing difficult, multiple playable characters, boss battles, powerups, and probably lots and lots (and lots) of dying.
Doc DuBrane is gearing up once again to save Nucleusport. After a crushing defeat, the reckless alien Prince FaceBox and his minions have relocated to the in-construction Sine Wave Tower, the tallest building ever (almost) built.
Their heinous mission? To dump all the radioactive waste from their own planets on an already highly-irradiated Earth. Doc, using the genius invention the Prisma Cannon, is the only one who can climb the tower and stop those stupid jerks. So get out your haz-mat suit, finish whatever it is you were doing, and get ready to get radical.

Radical Spectrum: Volume 2 (also known as Alien2Invasion5) is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere.
The same problems as in 1st one.
what to do?
how to play?
i though this game will be better than 1st one..
mhm... yes of course.. another shit.
Are all the reviews for this game fake? The gameplay is insanely monotonous.
In order to progress a level, you have to be able to double jump. In order to get a double jump, you need to collect the same color of dropping energy ball things. There is nothing compelling about that. Takes super long to progress and you usually die before making it very far...
Nice combination of Bomberman and Donkey Kong. Definitely better with a gamepad, though.
This game is donkey kong on acid. Far more playable than the first Radical Spectrum with the same old school graphics, amphetamine-arcade soundtrack, and tooth grinding non-stop insanity. Yes, it is hard and gets harder the more you play, but it hints at a depth of lore and repeat playability that is frankly beyond your run-o-the-mill 8-bit throwbacks. Save Nucleusport and kick facebox in his stupid facebox.
TL;DR Dope game. buy it sucka.
This game is Amazing! From beginning to end it drops you in to fast paced action, with tight graphics and a ripping sound track.
The best part of the game is the procedurally generated stages. Every time you pick the game up it's a brand new game. What more could one want.
This is one rad game! The graphics are a nice throwback to old school games with a killer 8 bit soundtrack. These games keep getting better and better!
This game grew on me. At first, I was a bit confused by the controls and the level progression, but I've now figured out how the game works and I'm enjoying it quite a bit.
Gameplay/Levels: This is an old-school arcade style game in the vein of Donkey Kong & Donkey Kong Jr. You need to get from the bottom left corner to the top left corner to beat the "boss" character on each screen. For variety, the exact level layouts are randomized, and there are 4 different "boss" types, each of which has its own attack modes. The thing that confused me at first is that each "Level" of the game actually consists of 4 screens (so, it will say "Level 1" for 4 screens in a row; you can think of it as Level 1-1, Level 1-2, etc.). The true "boss battles" shown in the trailer/screenshots are fairly far into the game (20 screens or so).
Controls: The controls/movement felt a bit stiff at first, but have become much more comfortable after playing for a bit. It's important to note that when you hold down the run button, you don't jump as high. You often need to jump first and then hold "run" to move faster in the air. Also, when you collect three blobs of the same color in a row, you can use the "boost-jump" button, which allows you to get to slightly higher ledges. I think it would be more rewarding if the boost took you a bit higher, as some of the needed boost-jumps are very tight. (I should note that there is also a "secret" move that I had overlooked at first, as it's not explained in the instructions. Once I discovered it, I was able to navigate through the maps much more quickly,)
Other notes: There are unlockable characters and super-powers in the "Store." You need to amass quite a lot of points to unlock the super-powers, though.
This is a fun twist on classic games, most notably Donkey Kong. The controls take some getting used to, but once you get there it's actually super precise. It's a good challenge, and looks like it has a decent amount of content for a 99 cent game. I feel like it's the perfect game for when you have a little time to kill, not enough to get into a larger game, just enough time to want to have some low-stakes fun for a bit.
I love the pixel look, and the music is awesome! It's like prog rock chiptunes.

TLDR: Barely edges out Atari2600 Donkey Kong by having controller support and slightly more advanced mechanics, but takes steps back by adding more frustration to the level design and undercutting the appeal of the new mechanics by making them hard to execute and only used punctually.
Xbox360 pad detected and working correctly. Low production values audiovisually. No music in-levels only sound effects. Platforms are akwardly placed. The raindrop-gathering mechanic to unleash one time consumable power ups feels clunky and is hit and miss. Jumping was floaty and on occasions it felt like I would hit invisible ceilings and I had to readjust position. The beam from the sky has a strange hitbox that vaporizes you when it seems like you have cleared it.
