Really fun on controller, unplayable on G923. Not because it doesn't work, but because the car performs far too erratically on wheel and there are no FFB or sensitivity settings of any kind, so what you get is what you get. Luckily, I don't really care, I can play it on controller with no complaints. Just a heads up if you are considering this game for wheel play.
this got to be the most unenjoyable racing game i ever played its so incredibly mediocre. the physics barely work you so much as look at something the wrong way it will flip your car. half the stages suck, the ai is very inconsistant sometimes you beat em by like a minute then the next race they beat you by 10 seconds. the races in career being pure rng which apears is just bad design. i would highly not recommend this

the ONLY thing that bugs me is controller support. im using a ps4 remote and if you breath on the throttle , the input is 100% . gotta figure that out . honestly a really fun game besides that tho . sadly im gonna have to stop playing because i cant get the cars to chill tf out since its all or nothing lol
This will not be a comprehensive review as I've only played right under half an hour of this game but I will give a quick rundown of what I think:
The handling is very arcade-y in a good way. It feels like a classic PS2 title in the way the mechanics works and how simple the UI and menu is. The Cars are a bit slide-y and firm at the same time but it's easy to keep it on the road without any issues. I would almost compare it to Go-Karts in a way.
You can even turn on and off your lights and it has an alright interior view with some cool cars to choose from the menu. I still feel like this game is lacking a lot of the more obscure cars like the 2001 Octavia, Citroen Xsara 2005, Subaru Impreza Bugeye, Citroen Saxo, Volkswagen Golf MKIV and so on.
What I am saying is I wish it would have a better car list more akin to Colin McRae Rally 2003 - 05.
But I would definitely recommend this to most people. If you are a parent and want to find a game for your child to play then I think he/she would like this. I sure as hell would.
(Will mention though the career mode is much more difficult than expected. No clue why. I think the balancing might be off.)
i almost refunded this game 3 times, first my controller wouldnt work, found had to map them manually in game setting, then my car was sliding around like a lunatic, found i had to buy a better car and switch the car settings for the right ground surface, then the graphics looked awful foggy and washed out, found shader reshade fixed that. 3 hours in i ended up loving it, great career mode, great course selection and tracks, is like a rally version of GRID.
I've raced only 3 tracks and 4 cars, but I can already tell - this game suxxx
Another rally game where physics is fake and cars just slide without any reason :(
I drive an FWD Xara kit car and I'm starting to slide on very long wide corner while driving 80km/h on TARMAC!

I've been driving cars on and off road in real life, and basic Dacia Duster (which is just a simple work car, not rally by any stretch of imagination) can take corners better than any car in this game.
Maybe next time before you try to make a game about cars, try to drive one yourself? I know, crazy idea, but might be worth it :)
Xpand Rally had better driving physics in 2004.
Surprisingly polished and slick it is definitely worth checking out on special.
I'm only recommending it as a rally game collector. It has a unique art style and driving feel.
But the career mode itself is poor (one of the worst I've seen), with very bad difficulty balancing, uninteresting events and no real sense of progression. It's simply fun to jump in and out of free play and watch the occasional half-decent replay.
If you're a collector, pick it up on sale but don't bother playing the career mode.
I bought this because it says it supports X-Box Controller. It doesn't!
Of course, with Steam there is no way to get a refund.
Great game if you always think Dirt Rally is so hard.
Absolutely uncontrollable cars man cant have fun in this game...
Note - If u think i only played 0.6hrs and my review is wrong, it is not...I confirmed with my friends as well (those who played it before) and they also agree it is very hard to control... Especially on controller... Wasted money and refund has been pending for 2 days not recommended... 👎
It's fun, really! I'm a sucker for rally and this scratches a brand new itch in my brain never before discovered. The handling, while so slippery you would've thought they rebooted the sega rally games and tried to make them "simcade", is really fun to learn and master. The campaign of actually buying cars and upgrading them over time as you progress isn't something I see in games like this, so it's totally welcome. All stages I've driven thus far are pretty good, though the rallycross stages can get a little repetitive over the 6 lap races in particular.
also it has the citroen xsara and I LOVE THE CITROEN XSARA go play the game it's good I swear
scoutcat34 update if i lose a rally stage the game blasts my ears with loud as all getout sound effects and freezes my computer so i have to ultra lock in as not to lose hearing by 25
