June 2024 Updates
The iRacing 2024 Season 3 Release Build is here! This release includes new content, upgrades, and fixes for 2024 Season 3, which officially starts on June 10th at 0000 UTC! iRacing adds two new GT3 cars, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R and the Ford Mustang GT3. We’ve also added a two-for-one deal with the new Street Stock - Casino & Eagle - two cars included in the same package! The iRacing map expands with three new pins: Circuito de Navarra (3 configs), Oswego Speedway (2 configs, Dirt Oval coming soon!), and Sachsenring. We’ve also added a new track configuration to Indianapolis Motor Speedway that matches how the circuit is raced in NASCAR.
As for features, we have BIG NEWS! This release will fully implement the New Damage Model on ALL VEHICLES in the entire service! That’s right, every single car will now benefit from the improved physics and visual experience brought by using the New Damage Model. A few vehicles have received special attention with this release, including the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) and the NASCAR Trucks Series Trucks. The Porsche has been updated to the latest available technical specifications, while the NASCAR Trucks Series Trucks have received significant updates and improvements based on research performed in partnership with NASCAR, as well as extensive computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis.
The iRacing application is also becoming fully featured with this release, with the addition of some long-awaited Stats and Results improvements: the Driver Leaderboard and Lap Charts & Lap Graphs. We are also rounding out the New Racer Onboarding experience by adding Sports Car as an option.
If you haven’t had enough to drink yet, you’re in luck - TEN additional vehicles are rain-ready, including the entire GT4 Class! And finally, all new content arrives AI-enabled. Get in gear and prepare for iRacing 2024 Season 3!

I love sim racing...I hate iRacing...but it's "OK" sometimes. If I weren't a ball joint deep into this already, I'd have quit already. The free content is free cause they couldn't sell it to you. The rest of the content is pricey and it adds up quickly. For sports car racing, Assetto Corsa & Assetto Corsa Competitizione are equally as good at a fraction of the cost. Figure out what kind of racing you're into and choose a platform based off of that.
This game is BAD!
Im sorry to say it, with all the fanboys around. But this has been THE WORST racing experience ive had so far.
There is the netcode that sucks. The outdated graphics are OK, if it didnt take such a toll on your FPS for no reason. And then the tires model.. If you were to drive on the edge, fine. But if you were to cross the edge by a milimeter, YOUR GONE. No way of catching it.
Penalty system is a joke. Just drive a clean race, and push your opponent in the last corner and its beneficial.
And dont get me started on all the crashes, amateur drivers, plus netcode problems means chaos in every turn. I dont reccomend this game to anyone. Go play Assetto Corsa or Raceroom because there your actually can enjoy your time. Thank me later!!
The FFB, the physics and the sound are great, but the pricing model is horrible, especially if you have to pay the full subscription price + cars + maps... Recommending this game feels wrong, but the competition is lacking right now.
Tried it for 3,74 euro, played it for around 2 weeks and got above 2000 iRating in the first 5 days. Without paying $13 for each car and $16 for each track, there is not much to do. On the formula side, you cant race anything faster than the Formula 1600. Once I got above 2000 iRating, I was usually placed in the top split, which meant playing againts people anywhere between 2000 and 7000 iRating, which is not much fun as a rookie.
The positives:
-the driving
-the matchmaking progression system
The negatives:
-paid cars and tracks on top of a subscription system is outrageous (it would be acceptable if it was only the cars in my opinion, but there are so many tracks you would have to buy)
-the matchmaking placing players from literally any continent into american servers would cause some players to blip in and out of existence every few seconds
-the crash physics seemed a bit exeggerated and sometimes they were completely broken (cars stuck inside each other after a crash for example)
-the graphics look really outdated, but the framerate is similar to ACC on High settings, which looks much better
Overall, the high prices are the main factor. You can buy the Ultimate bundle of Asetto Corsa Competizione for 60 euros on sale and keep it forever, while all your paid content (which can easily go above 500) on iRacing is useless if you are not actively subscribed.
Get penalised for trying to avoid crashes and go off track for one millisecond, welcome to iRacing.
crash and burn mostly people getting back on track no one in rookie cares just like no rules public
That ticker is not right, I've got 20+ hours in and yes, I was an iRenting hater thinking you are paying a subscription for the content but no. You are paying for well curated races, keeping tally of your race history, full servers and someone to put seasons together and Steward the results. In this light, it's still FAR to expensive and feature lacking to be taken seriously unless you use a small army of 3rd party apps which is silly. Just give me a fully functioning sim.
On a positive note, if the Nascar game they are releasing in '25 is as good and has the range of cars that iRacing does we're in great shape
so far i believe that it is the best one in sim racing by far!!!!
really complete the things you can learn to!!
love it
Iracing is great if you are looking for a well-maintained live sim racing experience that actually does something about players and their bad behavior online.
Fun game (if you have money)
variety of different multiplayer servers
lots of cars and tracks
good game but couldnt afford so i stick to acc
would recommend if you have the money
poor customer service shit cost way to much and definitely not worth the money
I'am very confused on when the official races start theirs a count down but I don't get it when they finish the countdown it doesn't start I would like some help
Fantastic online racing experience. Yes, have to deal with crazy drivers but as you increase irating, driving quallity of opponents gets better.
ONE of the most Realistic Sim Games I have tried and I have Tried Many..!
The only issues I have is: As A Disabled Person on A Pension is the CO$T of iRacing's add on's.
I Just Wish they had Discounts for People on Low Incomes such as Pensioners.
Otherwise; If it didn't CO$T as MUCH - I would Highly Recommend this game. BUT, it can get CO$TLY...!!!
I Loved playing it i only got it for one month but it was a blast highly recommend for those into serious Motorsports hopefully they change it from a membership to an outright buy.
This gets pretty expensive as times goes on, the initial deep discount is pretty attractive to start but the content in the base subscription is a bit on the barebones side, once you get out of the Rookie license on most classes and if you're hooked you'll be spending $ on tracks and cars. On the plus side you won't encounter that many dirty drivers.
The sim itself is great and unforgiving, the MP format is pretty well done with Practice, Qualifying and Racing sessions; along with many (mostly paid) tracks and classes. I started out with a controller and a week later I was at BestBuy buying sim gear, so be mindful that if you start enjoying SimRacing your wallet will likely start squealing (but it's worth it!).
Played it for a couple of weeks, got my A-license as fast as possible so I could race in F1 cars. Unfortunately, there were almost no lobbies with other players. It’s just too expensive for what you get. The physics are really good, but the business model is more than a little predatory—you have to pay for each track and car, which is kind of ridiculous. I canceled my subscription. Now, I play F1 24 and ACC and never look back or miss iRacing.
Mixed bag, I recommend it if you have disposable income, with tracks and stuff it probably averages out to over 30 a month for the first year while you buy stuff you want.
BUT, this is the best racing experience on the market. This means the best matchmaking and people actually trying. Not crashing on purpose when losing position, actually racing. (for the most part)
The tyre model is finally decent, I'm hooked by the stewarding system and matchmaking, but appalled by their business practice, I shouldn't be paying for essential game content (you can't call it extra content when you need it to participate in the first place) when I already pay for a subscription
very realistic, need if you have a simulator. very happy with purchase.
its so expensive.... I dont mind the subscription but cant stand having to buy tracks.
Most realistic feeling racing simulator by far. Wish it had better graphics. The game really comes alive when investing in a proper sim racing rig, especially load cell pedals are very important for none abs cars. Fantastic racing and side by side action.
Great game.
Want to say **** *** to the spotter.
Shut up please.
Thank you.
Great game.
10/10
Game is a great sim racing game, but after you reach higher tier racing the amount of money you need to spend to attend higher classes is enormous for everyone from less rich countries. Sometimes they provide ridiculous discounts 10-20% which doesn't change much. For every country the price of cars and tracks is the same (around 13$ for a car 15$ for a track) Track rotation happens every week, so be prepared to buy multiple tracks for a season. I personally wanted to play sports car carrer, but everything except mazda mx-5 cup is paid. If you don't want to pay extra for content I would reccomend playing ACC (which is a lot cheaper and not subscription based), unless you wanna be stuck in the mx-5 cup forever.
good game just ppl are retarded behind the wheel like fr make a srs server for once
Crazy expensive, not only you have to pay, not so cheap subscription, but then you have to pay for each extra car and track, there is few in the basic purchase, but once you get to C class license, you can't promote any higher as there is no races for C class with the basic content. Unfortunately even with all the scoring and safety rating, it doesn't guarantee good races, almost every race there was someone dive-bombing from the back, or someone taking it way too seriously, probably thinking he is the pro, and getting pissed, shouting into the chat onto others, saying they will report them, when not winning. Otherwise it would be great simulator, but I guess it's aimed onto those who don't mind dumping ridiculous money into it.
And now, since the update for Season 1 2025, everything is updated through Iracing UI, but steam keep saying it needs 90GB update, and if I want to update it, it throws error with "missing file privileges", tried everything I found online how to fix that with no luck
Great game, probably the best out there among other sims, however I do not like having to pay for subscription AND for content. Had the subscription been free, would invest in it 100%
the absolute best Sim racing title available for actual racing. could not recommend more
i only have base game content and enjoy it very much plan to buy track and cars more at some point and get a sim rig to be more competitive cause you can only do so much with a controller
Fantastic all round sim with high quality tracks and cars. The full package and in constant development and improvement.
Top notch simulator. Expensive but worth it for the quality alone.
Really really expensive for the average player, BUT the simulation of the whole racing is on another level. If you are want to get into serious sim racing this is the sim for you!
I played ACC, WRC, AC (vanilla not the cm) but so far iRacing is still the best if we are talking multiclass, and the VR performance is quite optimized compared to other game (the reason I say this because vr is my main rig for simracing). sure people are saying oh this game has bad graphic, outdated, and expensive (because it's a subscription and you need to buy some track and car if you are progressing to class C which takes a while for rookies) **note: you got a lot of car and track with subs only but the online experience, the content, and the rain racing (this update is amazing you guys should check this one) is just amazing in what they have been achieve in the last 2 year. if you interested I highly recommend to try use their website for subs rather than the steam because it's more expensive w/o the deal that they have
im the absolute fucking goat in lmp3 like geniunely
Lame graphics and the monthly SaaS ripoff model sucks mad b*lls.
ACC.....
it's a fun enough game. NOT WORTH all the extended fees just to enjoy on a monthly.
you have to buy the car packs, you have to buy the tracks, then you have to have a sub.
WTF seriously ow. they try to change $15 a month after you've spent so much. yea no.
a sub of $5 after you waste so much money isn't even worth it.
seems the cost is mainly just to get the only the serious players.
that doesn't justify robbing your player base.
reluctanctly i am willing to do $5 a month. but everything as a service is a ugly business model. they should just join up with ea the model fits.
Pros:
Everything about this sim is good. There is no better experience on the market - Waiting for AC EVO
Cons:
Some fking idiots who doesn't know how to brake the car
Contents price is very high and demanding.
Beautiful driving physics and competitive system.
BS track and car prices.
12-15$ price tag for every content.(cars, tracks) and you need to pay 7 dollars each month or pay 60 dolar just playing for 1 year
Do not feed these capitalist dogs.
Play Asetto Corsa with mods and Asetto Corsa Competizione (LFM.com for competitive racing system with points and safety rating and stuff)
P.S:
I forgot to say they change the map pool each week they make you buy the tracks one by one slowly, disgusting...
the best racing sim, but can become expensive quickly.
money gouge for a shitty sim
very expencive and fun is less
Most realistic racing sim you're going to find
Really expensive but is the best sim hands down
Amazing races, a real chellange for any racer out there.
Expensive, good racing game!
14,99 a month to drive on ice. Feels like they tried to make a sim of an arcade game by just lose the grip.
this is the best game i have eve playe4d it it very realistic and we can pkay foir ours on ewnd
It's quite expensive but there's nothing quite like the realism of this sim.
Do it, just do it, spend the money, great game.
Takes a while to get used to definitely a good learning curve. Youtube videos were a huge help like driver 61, jimmy broadbent (racing steward vids), danny lee, gitgud, OverTake_gg etc that really helped me get my bearings. There is also a new ai app called trophi which is developed by Driver 61 team to help you with improving your laptimes. Number 1 thing learn about trailbraking it will get you off to a good start.
