June 2024 Updates
The iRacing 2024 Season 3 Release Build is here! This release includes new content, upgrades, and fixes for 2024 Season 3, which officially starts on June 10th at 0000 UTC! iRacing adds two new GT3 cars, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R and the Ford Mustang GT3. We’ve also added a two-for-one deal with the new Street Stock - Casino & Eagle - two cars included in the same package! The iRacing map expands with three new pins: Circuito de Navarra (3 configs), Oswego Speedway (2 configs, Dirt Oval coming soon!), and Sachsenring. We’ve also added a new track configuration to Indianapolis Motor Speedway that matches how the circuit is raced in NASCAR.
As for features, we have BIG NEWS! This release will fully implement the New Damage Model on ALL VEHICLES in the entire service! That’s right, every single car will now benefit from the improved physics and visual experience brought by using the New Damage Model. A few vehicles have received special attention with this release, including the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) and the NASCAR Trucks Series Trucks. The Porsche has been updated to the latest available technical specifications, while the NASCAR Trucks Series Trucks have received significant updates and improvements based on research performed in partnership with NASCAR, as well as extensive computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis.
The iRacing application is also becoming fully featured with this release, with the addition of some long-awaited Stats and Results improvements: the Driver Leaderboard and Lap Charts & Lap Graphs. We are also rounding out the New Racer Onboarding experience by adding Sports Car as an option.
If you haven’t had enough to drink yet, you’re in luck - TEN additional vehicles are rain-ready, including the entire GT4 Class! And finally, all new content arrives AI-enabled. Get in gear and prepare for iRacing 2024 Season 3!

Seems like a sim but toxic children WILL punt you into walls for fun... $15 a month + all the tracks and cars.... no thanks.
Excellent Simulation, but need to do something desperately with Easy Anti Cheat, I like many others are experiencing issues with the PC crashing repeatedly with the 'EasyAntiCheat_EOSSys` does not support Bypass IO' issue, this relates to the new Nvme direct storage issue with new nvme drives.
iRacing, and EasyAntiCheats response to this is 'We are working on it' in the meantime, I (and many others) have a paid subscription that renders this game unplayable until they fix this, for this reason, I cannot recommend this game until they do fix this!
toxic, people will crash you for literally no reason and then iRacing will laugh at you. garbage moderation, hasnt improved since covid.
It's a decent sim. I think it's beyond ridiculous that the action cannot be monitored in a more rational and fair sense, ala Gran Tourismo where ONLY the car that INITIATES CONTACT is (time - in GT) punished. Only the car that initiates the contact should have marks against them.
Amazing game with races all day every day. Online why the hell are the others so low population. good game good edge good comp
Best MX-5 Cup derby simulator, 10/10
One miniscule problem is that you need to be an arab sheikh or posess a spare kidney for sale in order to buy all the content. Otherwise, a rather good irl stress simulator
very realistic and challenging to play. plentiful types of racing to choose. sufficiently ready online multiplayer races to join.
spent around $300 on this game not including the subscription price to try to run different series to escape the people who cant drive. guess what? none can drive the net code is extremely frustrating. i got black flagged for jumping a restart when my entire car was INSIDE the restart box. i cant escape the lower classes becuase every race i run short tracks, big tracks anything i keep getting turned or caught up in stupid wrecks. every ONCE in a while you will get lucky and not race with idiots. extremely overated game and im dissapointed i spent the much money on such a shit service.
I don't own this on steam however i do own it and here is my honest review.
Pros
- Amazing racing and feel, I have a little irl experience and the paralleled cars feel almost identical.
- Online is amazing, the net code for this game is amazing. I've had over 70 races already and only 1 has a ping spike from another racer affected me.
- Tracks are awesome with amazing detail.
- Offers a more organised driving experience for people looking to enhance their racing skill.
Cons
- The price, this game is the equivalent of "Racing is the rich mans sport". To start with, AU$20 a month + then AU$20 for a car (Non legacy) and AU$26 for tracks.
- Some players are super malicious and can sometimes not fit in the "file protest" categories. I believe the game needs a more barebones report system.
Overall,
Best sim racing game on the market nothing else even comes close yet. Just wish it was cheaper, but if your wanting to boost your skill and race against people wanting to take online racing seriously this is the only place to go.
9/10
I love the game but they need to do something about the penalties. It's not fair that someone bumps into you on purpose and also gives points to the person who had nothing to do with it....
way too expensive for what it is, if another sim offered regular racing this would not exist. there are plenty of other sims acc ,automoblista and lmu just for starters and they look a damn site better.

i highly recommend buying it from their website instead but this is still one of the best and most consistent racing sims out there.
Honestly one of the best sims out there, players are annoying but if you wanna learn and drive like real racing cars, this is it
First off, the IndyCar experience is a complete nightmare. The throttle input is so bad it might as well be random. You hit the pedal expecting smooth power delivery, but instead you get twitchy, jerky nonsense that ruins every corner exit. Sometimes it feels like the car is deciding when it wants to accelerate, not me.
The AI and other drivers don’t help — they’re either way too cautious or straight-up suicidal. One moment you’re cruising clean, the next you’re spun out by a rookie who treats the brakes like a suggestion. And the best part? You get penalized for “avoidable contact.
Jumping into IMSA only makes things worse. LMPs, GTD, and all the classes blend into chaos. You’re dodging clueless GT drivers who ignore mirrors completely, while prototypes pass you like it’s a demolition derby and not a precision race. One tiny bump, and you’re spinning — your iRating plunging into the abyss.
Multi-class racing should be thrilling, but here it’s a constant exercise in survival. The netcode glitches don’t help — teleporting, phantom hits, and lag-induced wrecks make clean racing nearly impossible.
You can drive your heart out, avoid crashes, and be the most polite driver on the track, but one unlucky incident ruins your safety rating and iRating for days. The system punishes the victims and lets offenders roam free. The matchmaking piles rookies and pros together like it’s some twisted social experiment in chaos.
iRacing’s IMSA and Indy packages have so much potential but deliver endless frustration instead. After hours of grinding, I’m left with shredded iRating, lost motivation, and a game that feels broken in the most essential ways.
If you enjoy rage, confusion, and paying for punishment, go ahead. For everyone else, steer clear.
Perfect sim, a ton of variety to choose, its expensive but it worth it
The steam platform for renewals just robbed me, I paid for the subscription for it to not work at all, it says that i dont have the subscription, but I have the receipt that supports the purchase, so by extention you did rob me, so I want my money back or the game.
the steam support nor iracing want to take responsdability on this, I really dont recommend dealing with steam or iracing they just want your money and when you have some trouble they are not willing to help with anything, I have all the proof that i bought the game, but steam dont provide any responses when i have the receipt my bank statemets and even steam says that I have purchase the susbcription but I cannot use it because it says that it was pay but it is not active, what JOKE is this, you just want to rob peoples money and that{s it, what a disgusting company.
Look no further, this is the perfect simracing game, well, almost.
The only thing bad about this game is the price of the cars, tracks, subscription and perhaps the graphics but only compared to other simracing games. But you can always just pay for the subscription and play the free cars and tracks in ranked, where you have a race every 20 minutes.
I played Le Mans Ultimate, Asseto Corsa, Asseto Corsa Competizione, Asseto Corsa EVO, Automovilista 2, simcades and arcade racing games, as of today the only one almost perfect is this one, but perhaps in the future Le Mans Ultimate and Asseto Corsa EVO could change that, i hope, because only having one option to chose and no alternatives could be really bad.
It has a good ranked system, safety + Irating:
Safety rating = How safe or unsafe you drive and crash, it directly affects who you are matched with, example: if you crash everytime your Safety rating it’s going to be low, so they are going to put you in a race with others that are crazy and crash everytime like you, if you drive clean they put you with clean racers.
Irating = Kind of a numeric skill rating, goes up if you finish higher, goes down if you finish in the last positions. It affects the matchmaking, it puts you with players at your same level.
As of today (May 2025), the other alternative games are these ones, the numbers are the peak of players in the last 24hs:
Asseto corsa 14,195
F1 2024 (simcade + EA is greedy and trash + a new one every year) 4,743
Forza Horizon 5 (arcade) 19,487
Asseto Corsa Competizione 4,361
Le Mans Ultimate 3,044
Forza Motosport (simcade) 1,010
Automovilista 2 1,080
RaceRoom Racing Experience 892
Asseto Corsa EVO 852 (early access, no multiplayer yet)
rFactor 2 571
iRacing 13000
And right now, iRacing has 13k players online.
Asseto corsa has a focus on modding and not so much focus in ranked races, even tho it has LowFuelMotosport as third party ranked system, it just doesn’t have frequent races nor a good amount of players.
Forza is just an arcade game, F1 has a new game every year and it’s trash every single year without much changes, for example the online races are a mess and it’s just drive to survive without penalties.
Asseto Corsa Competizione it’s kind of decent but if you want a good ranked system you have to use LowFuelMotosport (third party elo ranked system) instead of relying in an ingame ranked system. And the races are like one race every 1 hour.
Forza Motosport has a dead multiplayer experience (low amount of players, bad penalty system and bad skill matchmaking), RaceRoom and rFactor 2 are almost empty. Sadly Automovilista also relies on LowFuelMotosport (example, today is 1 race every 2 hours) because it doesn’t have a built-in ranked system and the player base is small.
The future is just Le Mans Ultimate that has a nice multiplayer system where you play Daily Races every 20 minutes just like iRacing but the Premium ranked system it’s behind a Subscription of $84 USD per year. But to be honest, the daily races are good enough and the matchmaking is good enough because there are 3 divisions in the free ranked system (you have to grind and play good in order to advance in one division): Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. If you only want to play a couple of races a day and have a nice experience, then Le Mans Ultimate is a nice game. The only bad thing about that game is that the performance and optimization of the game is absolute t r a s h, and unlike iRacing, you only have Hypercars, LMGT3 and GTE + plus only 10 circuits to play.
The other possible option in the future is Asseto Corsa EVO, which doesn’t even have a multiplayer mode yet.
If you are fine playing only three types of cars and 10 circuits, just play Le Mans Ultimate because it’s cheaper.
If you want to play Sports cars, Formula cars, Dirt Oval cars, Dirt Road cars, Indycar, Nascar, IMSA, and Team competitions with a solid multiplayer ranked system that a game should have (ELO, safety rating, penalties) and one ranked race every 20 minutes, play iRacing and at least pay the subscription for one month.
P.S: By the way, iRacing downloads and updater are bugged at steam, so buy from the website if you don't want to spend time fixing it. If you buy it here (because it's cheaper than in the website) and you ever have an issue where steam is trying to download the full game of 138GB even tho the update is of 2MB, then you have to make the appmanifest_266410.acf file of steam Read-only in Windows to avoid steam from updating the game and only update it from the iRacing client.
My favorite sim racer! Is it expensive? Bro. It's basically Netflix for race cars, but every time you subscribe, an iRacing rep weeps in gratitude. But I don't care. I toy storied 4 my AC, ACC, my dusty copy of Gran Turismo 7, and invested in iRacing like it was digital crack.
Now? I live for Porsche Cup races. The sound. The chaos. The down force. So much fun!
Final thoughts? iRacing isn't just a game. It's a religion. A lifestyle.
I used to think Gran Turismo 7, Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competezione were each the king of sim racing. But then, iRacing came along, kicked down the door like Cartman with a beefy wheel setup and screamed, "RESPECT MY TRACK-THORITAH!"
This isn't just sim racing, this is SIM REALITY! This isn't a game. This is the multiverse of racing sims, and iRacing is the one where you actually feel your wallet cry and your dignity crash at Turn 1.
Please try! The GOAT! iRacing!
This is what wasting your life saving feels like,.,. amazing game,.. i love uhhhh.. lmp cars and like..,. lemans but this game is expensive as uh gold idk lol if im spending $120 a year just to play this game the cars should be free.. like the good ones not the bad omes... but i like uh f4 and like nascar and stuff yeah its pretty cool lol. also the incident thing is kinda stupid ebecause i get yelled at for uh people hitting me even if it is not like,, my fault... you guys should playt his game its fun hahhyaayayahahayaa
it literally doesnt open not even tech support could help their broken game
Good game with some drawbacks major one being absolutely trash pricing model, would not recommend getting it at full price.
To start with the positives, this game justifies its insane price because when it comes to the driving feel and physics, it's the absolute best on the market, it hasn't really had any close competition until AC EVO but that's pretty barebones EA at this point.
But it is an insane price point, a monthly sub will cost AU$240/yr, if you wanna license any tracks or cars, AU$26EA.
Wanna race the nordschleife? AU$26. Wanna race the 24hr combined nurburgring, even though you've already bought 90% of the track buying the nords? Nope, that's actually a completely different track so that'll be another AU$26. There is no try before you buy either, which means you have to rely on other peoples opinions and gamble on if the purchase is going to be worth it or not for you. I have wasted over $100 on cars I bought that I do not like the feel of, and will never race again.
Wanna race? Enjoy getting your safety rating tanked by having sped retards crash into you, sometimes intentionally and maliciously. Want to rank up? Oh you need your safety rating up, so the only way to guarantee safety rating, is to start from pits and not the field, which means you're going to be overtaking from last position, so your irating will tank. Oh sorry, did I say overtaking? You won't be doing that, because nothing tilts people into crashing into you harder than starting last on the grid and then having someone from pits come up behind you and then passing, they WILL send it into you at the next heavy braking corner.
I've heard this improves the higher class you go so I'll update my review when I get to C class
best simulator, really enjoying it, but its just so expensive. almost every track cars cost money and even to play with your friend costs 0.50EUR???
otherwise great sim.
It's too expensive. It's only sentence I can say about this game.
Yes it's "expensive", but honestly there's no other game out there that is as exciting as this one. There's actual stakes in racing which forces your hand to drive clean. And the community itself is way more serious than those for other sims out there.
And (copium) real life "racing", 1 trackday is just as expensive as nearly all the content this game has to offer. So for me it's worth every penny.
The step up that I was looking for, more sim less arcade, and more challenging in every way than the other sims.
(fair warning though it is a toxic community at least what I've seen so far)
DO NOT BUY ITS MORE OF A SCAM THEN ANYTHING I PROMISE YOU IT IS NOT WORTH IT WHAT SO EVER there penalty system is jank af
its a very good game and the online aspect is the best but the pricing structure is an absolute scam. i would only recomend if you can get it on a sale.
16.99 canadian a month is crazy! The realism of the game is unbeatable compared to other sims like asseto corsa or RF2 but 16.99 canadian for the base game and then having to pay hundreds dollars on tracks and cars is ludacrious.
Just so realistic and absorbing. Great community
Good game with lot of fun ( and also frustrating sometimes ). Overaly good game but too expensive for what you get.
Worst game ever, extremely pay to play and then the safety rating system is horrible. Someone wrecks you and you get x4, just because they were mad of leaving the track, the race finishes someone goes and wreck you again, even with the race finished and you get penalty points, ridiculous. Do not recommend the game at all
About 1 month in, have D/C licences and working on increasing. Been an absolutely blast. Was amazed at how much to do, and how much fun. Sure after you start breaking out of rookie, all the semi locked events seem daunting or offputting but deeper inspection shows many have tracks that you can do when the week for it comes up. I plan on staying at Iracing for the time to come, and hope to see its continued growth.
aswesome very best and cool. defiinelyty recomend because game is rfeally good for compuection vs other drivers. i am doin ggood at game. money is only an doption if youi are cheap and broke, done tbe beroke.
This game is way too expensive and confusing.
It could be a good game, but the rating system is really stupid. It doesn’t matter if you qualify first—if someone takes you out in the first lap, you still lose iRating and Safety Rating. I don’t mind paying for the subscription, cars, and tracks, but I would expect a better system.
Very expensive to get the basic things on a subscription, currently you need to pay a subscription and additionally a dlc most expensive on game, plus the engine physics are very… normal?
Honestly i would give this a positive review or even a mixed review if that was an option. As i want to and will continue to play this but i honestly cannot recommend it due to its ridiculous pricing model, which honestly might stop me from playing at some point.
its annoying because this has genuinely became one of my favourite racing sims of all time, it has incredibly nice feeling handling, very competitive and (mostly) fair racing, interesting events like real time endurance racing with the ability to make a team of drivers to race it, insane small details like track debris, window cracks tyre wear, fuel drain and etc...
However its pricing model is just straight up mental insanity. Paying monthly whatever i don't mind so much, paying for cars? bit annoying but atleast you just need to buy a car for whatever specific class you want to race in, but paying for nearly every single godamn track just to even have a chance at using said car you bought is genuine fucking insanity. like i honestly wouldn't mind paying more monthly just to have access to all or most cars and tracks because i genuinely want to play more but the paywall for everything is such a massive hindrance to the experience and because of it many racing series are completely dead because of it.
The worst part about this paywall is that once you buy something there is zero guarantee it'll stay around forever as they consistently discontinue and disuse older vehicles and tracks whenever the hell they decide they've became obsolete or "legacy content" essentially meaning that they'll never use it again, because of this the game has a massive problem when it comes to car variety, there's not many in terms of older or classic race cars that you can use really which i'd personally love to see. you only really have a choice of getting the latest and greatest of cars as if you don't, you wont get your money's worth due to it either not being used in any series or simply because it'll just turn into legacy content at some point (though they do give refunds if they discontinue it within 1 year of purchasing it)
either way, genuinely incredible sim, one of the best out there for competitive multiplayer racing, but fucking ABYSMAL pricing for everything
Hands down the best racing sim out there if you care about purely racing and dont mind going into debt. The physics of the game are unparalleled compared to AC, ACC, GT, and LMU.
Pay per year, pay per track, pay per vehicle. Get wrecked in T1. Scumbag game
Not a Fan of the Price Model, but this is a great Sim. So far iam good with minimal investment 2 cars + 2 tracks
A fun racing sim, but is everything that is wrong with the current gaming landscape. A monthly subscription is very scummy, especially for a game where you have to buy tracks and cars at a premium price. If they're gonna do that it should be free to play. I would recommend any of the hundreds other sims before I would support this type of business model.
For a subscription product, the quality and user experience is pretty poor.
Linux isn't fully supported
- Most of it works aside from ranked (which is the main appeal)
Controller support is pretty bad (Could be because of linux, but other racing games work just fine).
- Can't set dead zones
- Can't configure sensitivity (specifically sensitivity curves)
The poor controller is the main reason that the game isn't enjoyable (Makes sense considering this is a pretty expensive hobby "game" and not really a game to pass the time)
Do not get this game on linux in it's current state (it shouldn't be on the steam store for linux users).
trash stuff imagine getting banned in race for a practice session that was even out of that race series, dont waste ur money and nerves u are paying for cars or tracks and NEED TO FARM SAFETY RATING BUT U WILL LOSE IT IF SOMEONE DRUNK DAD WILL CRASH IN U on purpose, just let that thing die already
glad i wasted my money on this crap game for 1 it looks horrible plays horrible cant use a controller if you wanna use your key board u literally have to turn with ur mouse well guess what u run out of room on your mouse pad an make 1 tiny little wrong move u instantly spin out an total your car unless you spend 500$ on a haptic feed back wheel dont even bother buying this game cuz those 30$ thrustmaster ferrari wheels u get on facebook market place are trash you either gotta get the logitech wheel with haptic feed back or the 19000$ wheel an sim set up in the long run you will spend more money then an actual car to even be able to enjoy this game
the game is fun to play and it is cool to see the cars to drive and the tracks but be careful on how you play and be careful about the drivers at least the rookies because they don't how to to play the game but every one is learning
can u guys fix the damn fucking issue where the fucking screen goes black for no reason in a middle of a race i've lost 3 races to night alone bc this damn fucking stupid fucking glitch .. thank u devs fuck this shits so annoying
Game feels so realistic, When i go back to the F1 games i feel 10x faster. Plus class graphics.
Just a shame you need to be rich to own all the cars and tracks in this subscription-based game.
overall 9/10
It’s the most accurate racing sim by far that I’ve ever played. However buying the game and then buying more tracks, more cars, and then trying to figure out how to setup races and teams takes hours on end. Is the game great, it definitely can be, but does it itch the sim racing side you always wanted. No not by a long shot. It’s 2025 with a subscription service that’s $22 on sale top of the price of the game for the first year and then it’s $113 for the next year. That’s without cars or tracks, buying the F1 Mercedes car was $18 more dollars. I haven’t bought any tracks but you only have access to like 5 tracks without buying any.
It’s like a real life project car. AKA the money pit. If you’re hard core into sim racing and want to spend your entire life against sweats and pay your hard earned money just to access a game you already bought buy this one. If you’re looking to get into more realistic sim racing but are trying to do it for fun. I’d look elsewhere.
One of the best racing sim I've played. Def worth it it is expensive but just do what i did and buy a year sub for like $20 on a holiday sale and renew it next year. The Feel of driving the cars feels really good like if anything that is missing is just the G force. You got many type of discipline Oval, Dirt Oval, Dirt Track, Gt/Sport, Formula so just pick any and get out there!!! see you on the tarmac !!!!!!!
