As you progress through the game, your total score can unlock new boomerangs, new abilities, and health boosts. Your score is tied to performing combos by defeating multiple enemies in a single throw of your boomerang. The world is also full of secrets. Finding hidden items can unlock new stages and bosses.

Underrated, yes. fun? yeah sure its good
I found out about Skeleton Boomerang through the game's soundtrack, which is absolutely amazing. I don't know how a soundtrack can be so good! The actual game is incredible too; it even has a simple, but good, story to go along with it. Skeleton Boomerang has a retro style, and the art is beautiful. There's many unique power-ups, bosses, and enemies - even ninja skeletons! I beat normal mode, then unlocked hard mode. Hard mode was extremely tough - like, really, really tough. It was definitely a challenge, but I enjoyed it. Also, this isn't a major feature, but, the game has random signs you can read sometimes that say some pretty funny stuff.
If you couldn't tell, I would certainly recommend this game. Who says money can't buy happiness when you can buy Skeleton Boomerang? I had a blast playing this game, and will buy the DLC for sure.
A fantastic action platformer with a cool combo mechanic and excellent music.
